Our dog seems to like the way it feels in his eyes. He is totally blind but he doesn't try to rub it out, as with other drops that veterinarians have prescribed in the past. In fact at morning and night both, he seems to sense when it is time for us to put in his drops. He starts barking at us when it's time and bumps his way into the kitchen, where we usually apply them. My dog went a few days with excessive "goop" from his eyes. Since my dog hasn't had a history with this, and doesn't seem to have seasonal allergies, the vet suggested an antimicrobial for the eye irritation and I went with this ophthalmic gel based on the luck I've had with other Vetericyn products in the past. I started with a tiny drop on the corner of my dog's eye to be sure he wouldn't have any reaction to it. Later that day, I went ahead and applied a few drops in each of his eyes. I applied the gel two times a day for three days in a row and by the fourth day his eyes had stopped having discharge. It is almost like my dog knew the drops would make him feel better as he kept his head very still when I applied the gel to his eyes. The shape of the dispenser where you squeeze the product out of makes it very easy to apply the gel to their eyes. While it is a "gel," it comes out of the dispenser fairly quickly which I find allows for an accurate application. Went out one morning and caught a glimpse of what looked like a little scratch on my horses eye. Upon inspection the eye itself was untouched but the eyelid was cut about an inch long from the back corner towards the front. I cleaned it and figured I would just leave it alone. I have one eyelid that doesn't close properly. Before I found this P.M. lubricant, I used Celluvisc. Celluvisc is great and I use it for my other eye, but sometimes you need something with more staying power. So I use P.M. for my worst eye. I recently read where a doctor had his patients dampen their outside eye area before bed and lightly put the petroleum jelly around the outer part of eye area. I love to try out homeopathic remedies for any type of ailment, instead of using traditional Over the counter medications that potentially contain dangerous ingredients. A word of warning to anyone buying this to replace/supplement the Bruder brand pads — this brand is MUCH larger. I needed another set of pads for when I wash my Bruder pads, since it takes over 24 hours for them to dry and I use the pads twice a day. This brand is way too wide (doesn't really sit ON my eyes) and covers more of my face than I'd like, though I do have a pretty small face. I'll only be using it when my Bruder is drying. The Thermalon is a great moist warm compress for treating the eyes. My eye doctor had recommended that I place a warm, wet washcloth on my eyes for 10 minutes per day to help relieve dry eye syndrome. I found that getting the wet cloth to the right temperature was challenging. Too cool and it did not last very long. Too warm and it was hard on my eyes. What's more I always seemed to dribble water down the side of my head and onto the chair where I rested while treating my eyes. Finally I found the Thermalon. I heat it in the microwave and it always comes out at the right temperature. It stays warm for a long time and it somehow seems to provide its own moisture without creating a dribbling mess. It's comfortable to wear and it's soft and flexible so it conforms to the shape of my eyes. This eye compress is great for dry eye. My opthalmologist told me to do a hot, wet compress on my eyes morning and night for my blepharitis. That was getting to be a pain with the wet washcloth. This little deal goes in the microwave for just a few seconds and fits so comfortably over my eyes. I like to lie down and relax or meditate for the 10 minutes, but the velcro strap allows me to sit up if I want to without it moving out of position. I turned to this product for my cat after everything else failed. She has a chronic sinus infection that did not respond to multiple rounds of two different antibiotics. I have a Bichon whose tear ducts never developed. The eyes constantly tear, resulting in some very awful tear staining. I have used Angels Eyes for a little over two years now. My dog won't touch the powdered version even when mixed into canned dog food. He thinks the tablets are a treat and cannot wait until the next dose. I have tried both types, the one with the mild anti-biotic and the natural type. I think the anti-biotic type works a little bit better than the natural type, but I don't think it is made any longer. I even looked at Angels Eyes site and it is not listed. The natural chews work pretty well, although I give my dog one more tablet than the recommended dose. Drs. I've used Angel eyes twice over 7 years and it has always worked great for my little 5lb Pappillon. His eyes started weaping again so I first used the powder. The container was nearly empty and no change. Then I discovered it came in a chew, which is soooo much handier, so bought a container and continued giving it to him. He loves the taste, but that's not the problem. He finished the powder and is about halfway thru the chews and still no change. Odd. Previously by now the problem was solved and he was good for a couple years, but now no change. Great product. I remembered that my previous eye doctor use to recommend this product years ago and thought I'd try it. I have really dry eyes to the point where they feel like pins are poking them. I used this product and it helped relieve the burning and the redness. My current doctor told me if my eyes are that dry, my eyes would sting with eye drops in the beginning and to keep applying until it went away. I had to apply the drop back to back about 4 times to finally get relief. This was the same when I used Refresh tears. I'm just glad this product is more natural and cheaper. [from Similasan] Originating in Switzerland in 1980, the Similasan brand became popular across Europe. Today, Similasan remedies are widely used and well-respected in North America. I had a deviated septum that was surgically corrected years ago but I would often get a "discharge" of white "puss" that would gather in my lower eye (the left more than right). I had a Doctor of Optometry (DO) recommend Systane long-lasting lubricating drops but I never got more than 1-2 hours relief. I have adjusted the brightness levels on all of my devices, I get plenty of sleep yet this discharge would not go away. I was almost ready to just cave and buy another $15 bottle of Systane till I read about Similasan Complete on that *OTHER* site. What the heck, I mused at least it's cheaper than Systane. One BIG draw back is that this ONLY comes in individual use packets…. and the top doesn't fit back on once opened.. My avid little mouser cat caught herself a little prize just a few days before a month-prior planned trip my husband and i were unavoidably about to go to. Apparently that mouse had bitten her back in the process, right on her tender little lip cleft! Before we knew it, that bite had gotten infected so bad she became lethargic, her face swollen an angry shade of red, she could not eat or even drink on her own and she could not even close her mouth and was drooling on herself. Because of the covid situation and proximity of timing to our trip to see family, there was no way to get her to a vet in time before we had to leave in 3-4 days. So we did the best we could with a dropper to feed and water her and rushed out to get Vetericyn to help stave off the infection which reduced the angry redness to a healthier pinkish. Using this for hot spots on my canine, this stuff does work but it sometimes can take up to 2 8oz. Bottles to heal the area's treated. Not sure if it's the strength of medicine or just those stubborn spots. I caught the spots early on and started treating them immediately and have been treating them for a month now and they are getting better but slowly, these things are stubborn. I can say that absolutely nothing else I tried worked. Believe it or not, I read online the other day that rubbing Pepto Bismol on hot spots actually works, you heard right, Pepto Bismol. I haven't had the nerve to try it as I thought it could just be some nut trying to infect your pet even worse. You just cannot trust anyone anymore, especially after what happened in 2020, if you know what I mean.bandit74

The nozzle applicator is perfect for squirting droplets into the dogs ear. There's no spillage like I've previously experienced with eye drop type applicators.
