This product literally saved my cats life along with the Blood Sugar gold. I noticed my cat was drinking tons of water, bloated and not walking well due to arthritis. I took him to the vet. Spent 576 dollars to be told he has diabetes, congestive heart failure and arthritis. He is 12 years old and has been a great pet. I could not give him shots twice a day let alone spend a 1000 dollars more in dealing with that and his heart. He has fluid in his chest and lower abdomen. He was breathing very heavy in his lower abdomen instead of in his chest. This was a sign of the fluid slowly building up in his chest cavity closing in on his lungs. Yesterday he was on his side all day. I gave him the recommended doses in the morning when the products arrived. Then again at night. At that point I felt I got this stuff to late and I was going to lose him. This morning he is up and walking around. Understand he has arthritis in the hip ball joints and back. I started my dog on these drops about a month ago, as we were having trouble with uncontrolled high blood sugar. My 9 lb dachshund mix was on 6 units of novolin N twice a day and had blood sugar staying into the 400 consistently. She also has Cushings disease which she had not been treated for. My Maltese Poodle, who is 12 years old was diagnosed the beginning of December with Diabetes. Our older MinPin was diagnosed with diabetes in Feb. After changing her diet to a Low Carb (and adjusting feeding schedule) and using this product for over a month, I am happy to report that she is doing very well (also using Tract Ease). As, I could not see putting her and US thru constant testing and/or twice daily shots, I sought out a alternative and I am very happy with the results. This is anecdotal experience, but after my dog was diagnosed with a Grade 1 sarcoma tumor by his tail in December 2020 (when he was 8 years old), I changed his diet from a "high quality" dry kibble to Dr. Harvey's Paradigm. I usually add cooked ground turkey or chicken for the protein. The tumor was removed in Dec. 2020 but the vet could not get all of it out because it was entwined with nerves. Thus, I knew the chance of recurrence was high. Two years later (it's now Dec. 2022), the tumor has still not grown back. However, earlier this year (about 1 year and 3 months after the sarcoma) my dog developed meningitis, apparently immune related. He spiked a very high fever, so high that he could have had seizures and died. However, despite his history with the tumor, he was otherwise a healthy, fit dog (enjoying his daily walks and with a robust appetite), which I believe helped him battle the meningitis until he got a correct diagnosis, which took a full week and many medical tests. And then the medication thankfully is proving effective for him. There is no "magic diet" that can save either humans or animals from experiencing all adverse health issues, but that being said, I have no doubt that providing a healthy diet will allow the chance for the best possible outcome if/when these issues occur. I plan to continue feeding him Paradigm.
My 8 year old boxer, Duke had to have his pancreas emergently removed on 4/22/21. He had a tumor on it that ruptured. He healed quickly, however his tests came back positive for Hemangiocarcinoma , which is cancer of the blood and is fatal, usually given 1-3 months after surgery to live. My dog liked it ok but actually likes the beef better. My problem is the packaging. If we buy the small packages it’s more expense and it doesn’t last long( maybe 3 days for my 12 lb dog.( plus kibble). When I buy the large packages -because they are frozen) my husband has to break it apart with a hammer and divide it up to 4 parts and take 1 part out of the freezer at a time. It’s very expensive but because we have a very picky eater ( who almost died about 8 months ago-and she’s not quite 2yrs old now) we are willing to buy your food but would like better packaging. Might I suggest a large package that divides into 4 break apart sections-so you are able to take 1 part out of the freezer at a time without a hammer?!? Review of PetMeds in general: Fast delivery as promised, very polite and competent phone and computer customer service. Vetsulin: Hard to review a prescription product really but here's my experience: my vet had me try Vetsulin since Humulin did not work on my dog at all (Humulin is more easily available and at that time cheaper though this is probably no longer true#. His blood sugar levels have improved so-so on Vetsulin which is better than nothing on Humulin. We are gradually increasing the dose to see if those can be improved. My vet reminds me that you DO have to shake Vetsulin a little before using. #unlike Humulin which under no circumstances should the bottle be shaken) Caution – I believe I had a big problem for a few days when I accidentally left the bottle out for about 12 hours. You should always always refrigerate! I used it anyway because I was 'broke' and couldn't afford to buy more. My dog became very symptomatic, urinating a lot and stumbling around in an uncoordinated way. When I finally got paid and could buy more, he did get better again. I don't know if the nonrefrigeration just made it lose effectiveness or if it actually 'went bad' but I do not want to risk this again! Anyway, there's hope that we'll find a dose that works. Diabetes is almost completely unknown in Ibizans and there's no hereditary background for him based on info I trust. I don't know why he got it but he had become overweight which was strange since most Ibizans are very light eaters.
The Vetsulin is sent directly from a contracted Vet & appears to be fine. My experience with Vetsulin is this: It saved my dog's life, but is difficult to maintain a steady level. In part by the dog's diabetes and in part by the ability to control their sugar. We've gone from 1.5 units to 4 units in a little over a year for a 10lb dog. I've asked around and it's not completely unusual but it does tend to get really expensive so a lot of people are switching to a competitor. The price here is already inflated but I have a gift card that I need to use so I'll take the hit. It could have been packed better. It comes in the standard large foam cooler but it was not lined, it had 3 ice packs on the bottom and some plastic where a competitor's came fully lined and encapsulated. It's 107 degrees here today so that could be a concern, especially since Petco was unable to give me any legitimate updates (long story that we can't share here but I took it up with customer service to no resolve).DelilahsMama

This product didn't work for my dog at all. It just changed the colour of her diarrhea. I think one of the problems is that the directions say to give to your dog every four hours. However, it's cherry flavoured, which my dog didn't find appetizing. I read all of the reviews so I decided to give it a try for my 10 year old Pitt Bull. He wasn’t his spunky self for 2 months. He was slow getting up even for his treats. Bought this yesterday for my 6 year old maltipoo because he has back pain from time to time due to ivdd. Vet wasn’t in and the hospital was booked. Emergency room costs a fortune. My dog ate this willingly only twice. I've even dipped it meat juice & he will not eat it. If I crush it in his food he rejects the whole bowl. He is not picky at all. so these must taste pretty bad. They are very dry. no idea if they work or not, can't see results if he won't eat them. I can assume the ingredients are medicinal. We took our Newfie/Lab to the vet to get vaccinated for a training class. Shortly after his shots, he developed a skin allergy with two hot spots on each hip. I work in an open-air retail mall in Michigan. The mall was built to be dog friendly. Dogs are encouraged to come into the stores. I buy these treats and bring them with me for every shift I work. I now have regular dog customers who seek me out behind the counter, and wait for these treats! I have owners taking pictures of the bag so they know which treats to buy. About 6 months ago, my cat, who has feline leukemia, stopped eating, was constantly vomiting, sleeping, and cringed whenever I touched her. She would still come in and sleep on me, but had no energy and whimpered a lot.
