Very easy to use. We have an over weight cat stops him from grazing throughout the day. The other cats can carry on eating as normal. We have bought a second unit we now have one for dry food and one for wet food. The cover stops wet food drying out. Will stop flies in the summer touching the food. I bought this automatic feeder for our cat to allow her biscuits whilst we are either later at work or out for the day. It is battery AA run. The timer is not time related but hourly, so you set it to open anything from 1 hour to 48 hours. You can put wet food in as the product comes with a gelice pack but we have only put biscuits in.Th only downside is our cat is managing to get the feeder open slightly before the set time. We are not sure how she is doing this but it is not really a problem to us as she is still getting fed without having to wait for us to return home.Mrs M Garlick

If you feed your pets wet food and they are slow-eaters (eat a little now and a little later), this is a must-have item. The lid opens automatically when my cat approaches and closes again when he leaves. So it really does prevent wet food from drying out. It is amazing. I used to throw away left-over canned food. For the price this feeder is great! However the hole that dispenses the cat food is a little too big for my cats food size. If I used cat food that had just a little bit larger pieces then I think it would probably be just the right size. (I feed my cat Rachel Ray's Super Premium "Longevity" and it comes, as I said, in VERY small bites). So for under $4 it's well worth seeing if its the right fit for your cat food!Robin

We got this for our cat since we would be out of town for two days. It works out pretty well and she had no problem transitioning from her usual bowl to this feeder. It has pictures of small dogs on the label but it works fine for cat kibble as well. The feeder itself is great but the only problem I had was that this couldn't be found in store. It's clearly in store as our order was ready the next day but they didn't have it on the shelves. The feeder was also fairly dusty when handed to me so they must have been sitting somewhere for a long while.Ptolemios

Fixes in two design flaws would've made this product a 5-star for me. First, the lid does NOT snap shut. Have to use tape to keep the top from flipping up in wind and protect the food from other critters. Second flaw, the sides as the food is exiting need to be higher in order to keep the cat food from running over it and being wasted. For the price, they will work for my purposes of feed the neighborhood's hoard of cats while out of town.Donna

Very heavy-duty. The bowls are nice stainless steel and are well-secured in the holder but can be removed for cleaning. Swivels nicely. The only negative, the way you lock it closed is a bit of a finger pincher. You have to push in hard and move a little rod and I tgink a latch could be easier.Tara

We have two big dogs in separate pens and bought one for each of them. Installation was quick and easy and these are so convenient! Now we can feed our dogs without opening the gate and having a possible escape. And, if someone else feeds our dogs when we're away, they don't have to go into the pen with the dogs to feed them. I took a dog kennel and turned it in a cage for a pair of blue and gold macaws. Of course, I needed food dishes for them. I found these and it works perfectly. Easy to install and makes feeding time so much easier. I'm no longer being attacked to get thier bowls.Tabbilynn

I purchased this at Sam's over the weekend to replace my old-school from another manufacturer that didn't have the internet connectivity and camera. After bringing it home, I noticed that the reviews on the Geeni website were not good for this unit. Most complaints seemed to focus on portion sizes not being accurate and jams. This morning, I opted to check the portion sizes, and sure enough, I had it programmed for 1/2 cup, and it was dispensing just slightly more than 1/4. Doing further testing, it jammed. Guess what the fatal flaw of this feeder is…. Correct: it jams ALL OF THE TIME. I mean seriously HOW does this product go beyond testing and to market with as prone to FAILING at its primary purpose. Here is an idea Geeni: improve the feeding mechanics as priority over a camera, microphone, two way communication and all of the other BS. A firmware update could possibly fix the issue. That’s how little ingenuity perhaps geeni has in the development. How? On jam detection (which it already has jam detection as it sends notice of a jam) RUN THE MOTOR IN REVERSE. Looking at the feeder mechanics though, it’s a horrible design. It is a carousel and a little agitator. SMH. How was a screw type extruder not the OBVIOUS tried and tested approach? Price? Well, it was $99. So what should I have expected. It’s junk.JeffC

This is pretty amazing. I really enjoyed being able to see our pets when out of town. The only drawback is not being able to see the food bowl to know if food is actually in it or not when traveling. We forgot to refill the thing when we left, and though it said it has dispensed food, we just weren't sure until we were able to actually catch our pets feeding from it to confirm they had food.Heather

I like this one because it isn't overly big but the opening is large enough that bigger food pellets fall out on their own. Our last dog bowl we had to continually shake it to get the food down into the bowl.MissBigB

We love the Neater Feeder! My dog, Jax, is around 50 pounds and is classified as a cocker spaniel, so he is not extremely tall. The large version of the Express is perfect for him as far as height. I researched a similar solution for this purpose from different companies. I am glad I chose the Neater Feeder, as the system is of very good quality and is a fair price. I read in some of the reviews that the bowls were not very nice, but I am not sure what was meant, as they are also of good quality. I like the look of this product and I feel it completely gives me everything I was looking for in the way of a pet feeder. This is our second one now that we have 3 cats. We have one for the dry food and one for the water. They are definitely neat and oraganized, unlike my teenage boys who manage to get the dry food all over the top when they are refilling the bowls. Kinda defeats the purpose, right? You have to remember to clean the bottom part regularly for the water because stuff sits for days and gets all yucky. The only thing the cats don’t seem to like is if you let the stainless steel bowls sit (and don’t wash the bowls out every other day), it develops a film and apparently changes the taste of the water. The cats quit drinking much if it gets to that point. When you are super busy, things like this are easy to overlook.Sherrilee

I am very pleased with the fact that the Neater Feeder has been helpful in keeping water off my floor. It is a nice looking feeding station and easy to clean. I think the concept for this product was great… a product much needed. Upon receiving my unit I was surprised to not see the unit and bowls wrapped for protection and what I did find was a unit that was a bit scuffed u and two damaged bowls. Honestly, I felt the bowls were thin and cheaply made. The positive note is that once I contacted customer service, they responded promptly and then sent out two new bowls very quickly. They were both pleasant and efficient to deal with… not easy to find that kind of customer service these days, so I much appreciated this about this family owned business. Unfortunately I still had issues with the unit and mostly with the bowls. When the new bowls came, I immediately washed them and proceeded to dry them… I was surprised to see black on the cloth I was using to dry them. I washed them again, filled them up and put them down for the pets (I use both for water only). Shortly afterwards as I passed the bowls the water didn't look right to me… like there were little specks in the water. I immediately took them up and emptied them only to find there was some type of residue if I rubbed with my finger. I proceeded to use my own bowls, not a perfect fit but they work. As for the unit itself, I feel it too could be better made. The two separate pieces don't exactly sit well into each other and the unit then tends to wobble a wee bit, but once I put the filled water bowls in it and placed on a small area rug, it eliminates that wobble. All in all I think the concept behind this product is great… something truly needed. I just wish the unit was a bit more refined and that the bowls were of better quality. I would prefer to pay less for the unit and purchase better bowls on my own. As I mentioned, I am using my own bowls since I'm not sure these bowls may turn out to be a health concern.Linda P.

We bought this to keep our giant slobbery indoor heckin' chonka watered for a brief getaway, and on the whole it's hit the mark for that. At 4 gallons of water, with an optional activated charcoal filter pack, this thing will keep your dog(s) stocked with tasty water for quite a while (especially if you have smaller breeds). It's now our everyday waterer, and we fill it once or twice a month depending on seasonal weather. It's very easy to clean, with all the parts coming apart easily, and the huge openings mean everything's readily accessible even if you have larger hands. Between the easy cleanability and the use of Microban, I'd be comfortable drinking out of it myself after a fresh cleaning. It's never grown weird things or become discolored or slimy between cleanings. But. The 4-gallon model is also a giant, treacherous, clumsy mess when it comes time to refill it and put it back together. Unlike most of their older models, Petmate decided not to mold a handle into the jug on this one. While this would normally just make things slightly less convenient, this jug is also completely untextured and extremely slippery. If you don't manage to get the jug and your hands COMPLETELY bone dry, it can and will slip out of your hands, dump water all over the floor, and dislodge the carbon filter so you have to jam your arm elbow-deep into now-slightly-less-than-four gallons of water to reassemble everything. This giant, slippery, unmanageable bottle uses Petmate's twist-lock bottle top, so even if you get the bottle inserted on the first try, you often still end up wrestling with 32 pounds of sloshy slippery bulk trying to get it into its proper groove. Or, if you don't notice the bottle is slightly off kilter, the gravity feed never stops flowing and soon once again there's water all over your floor. (But, one the up side, once it's on there even your large dog isn't going to knock the bottle off its perch.) If you don't absolutely positively need the largest model, go for a smaller one. If you do, plan to throw some skate deck grip tape or the like on the bottle, and don't plan on passing refill duty off to your younger kids or smaller partner.C.M.

I purchased the 2.5 gallon gravity waterer. It is used by 1 dog and 2 cats. Problem is the water does not flow into bowl unless I tilt it. I thought the filter was obstructing it so I purchased new filter….Same Problem. Then I removed the filter…..Same Problem. Also my cats keep batting at it to get water and end up knocking the reservoir off the bowl…Flows all over floor!! Now it is past the 30 days so no refund or exchange.available…Really wish I had read reviews first, although many seem happy with the product…….Any suggestions??KRP2022

Got a new Jack Russell and after much review of all water bowl products, I decided on this one because it is strong plastic, has microban and is made in USA (although it never says what things are from overseas). Unfortunately, this water "replenishing" water bowl does not work. Utter failure. The charcoal pack had to be removed completely as the water didnt flow. Still, the water does NOT flow…I have to tip is over myself every single time. When I inspected it closer the bottom of the filter part is completely on the bottom of the bowl. Unless the entire unit is tilted at a 45 degree angle, water does NOT come out. I bought this at Petsmart and i tried to take it back but I missed the return window by 2 days. Now I am stuck with a $27 piece of plastic. I hope this will save someone the time, money and frustration.JID918

Our 1.5 yr old golden retriever has food anticipation issues, such that around 5 AM, he would vomit up a bit of bile. As every dog owner knows, there is no better alarm clock than your dog vomiting in the middle of the night. Our pup was put on a low dose of acid reducer, but this only helped for a while. We thought, what if we could feed him just a small portion in the middle of the night? The problem, another golden retriever pup that we affectionately call "Kobayashi". To avoid Kobayashi eating our other dog's food, we bought two of these. Now both dogs get fed around 3 AM, without much problem. They even figured out that going to the other's dish results in its closure, so we are no longer listening to the feeder doors at 3 AM (which can be a bit annoying). Moral of the story, our pup is no longer on acid reducing medication, AND he has not vomited overnight since. We do have 3 issues: 1. The feeder has a minimum number (2) of feedings for dogs, therefore, the feeder actually dispenses part of their overnight snack at least 1 hr prior to dispensing the other half. It would be helpful if you could set the number of meals dispensed to one. 2. The feeder lights up the screen and provides an Err 03 code when a dog has not visited it for more than 16 hr. It would be helpful to have a more descriptive error symbol, AND this feature should be able to be turned on/off. 3. It would be useful to have a mobile app and connectivity to the feeders through a wireless network, so that changes could be done through the app, AND so that notifications could be sent about the feeder (e.g., when food was dispensed, how much, when was it visited, etc.) Overall, we are pleased with the feeders, and they function exactly as described. However, make sure to purchase any extra tags AND extra dog bowls (if you would like to rotate them while you wash the previously used ones) at the SAME TIME you purchase the feeder(s). The shipping for these items after this is highway robbery.Stuart

This is a good quality product; however, it is way overpriced for the value. My son and I have two cats; one likes to nibble every now and then and the other loves to break into wherever food may be and eat until he is sick. In my opinion the cost of these feeders is outrageous and I consider it to be price gouging. I did contact the company to see if I could get a decent discount because I had to purchase two, but they wouldn't give me one. I ended up spending over $400 for two feeders so that my cats can get fed properly. The tags are quite heavy and bulky and with the overeater cat it clunks loudly on the dish when he is eating. My little girl kitty doesn't clunk her tag when she eats but it does seem cumbersome for her to wear because she is much smaller than my other cat who can handle the extra weight. I had my son set the feeders to stay open unless the wrong kitty comes to close to the wrong feeder and that seems to be working well. When I first got these the noise from the motor when the dish opens would scare my little girl and she would run away and not eat. My male kitty would get startled, but once he figured out there was food there he took right to it. He likes to try to fool my little girl's dish into giving him food but has almost figured out that it will never happen. I have an island in my kitchen and have put one on either side of the ends of it and that is working well. My little girl has become less stressed about eating now that she knows she can eat anytime she wants too without my little boy kicking her out of her dish and he is now getting down to a manageable weight so he is healthier. If I didn't have an urgent need to purchase these and they were both nibblers, I would have gone with a different auto feeder because of the price. They are made well but not worth the cost they are charging.LizzyBeth

I have two cats that I fed 4 times a day equalling 1/2 cup of food. They have never gotten along and are territorial over the upstairs and downstairs of the house and are both food driven. One has severe anxiety, the other is overweight, and both can be very aggressive with each other. I got these feeders 5 days ago. The cat with anxiety needed 2 days to adjust to the collar and the sound of the food bowl. Day 2, I decided to switch the mode for her to leave the door open so she didnt freak out so much about the noise of the door opening and closing. It made a huge difference in calming her about the noise. She used to step back when the other cat would come eat her food and in less than 5 days she had calmed down from the noise realizing that the door closes when the other cat comes and is calmer knowing the food is still there. Once she realized the other cat can not touch her food her anxiety disappeared about the noise from the door opening and closing and both cats are better about being together on each level of the house. It seems much anxiety was created around food and I feel as though I now have two new cats because they are acting so different towards each other. I have not been woken up by either cat for a feeding all week. Another blessing! Now the cat that is overweight is getting the exact measure of food she needs and there is no stress over who fed the cats, which one got the most or least food, and if they were over fed. This is one of the best investments I have ever made for my girls and myself!Angela O.

This set was extremely great value when you add up what the items would have cost bought separately. The pack contained 2 of each item which I hadn't realised so even cheaper than first thought 🙂 I was disappointed at first that I could no longer purchase the double bowl and mats separately. They were a Christmas gift and she didn't really need another 2 of everything but the cost and quality of this pack certainly made up for that.Deana G

Perfect for the Surefeed Motion Activated Feeder (even though it is advertised for the Microchip Feeder). The mat fits perfectly underneath the Feeder edge to catch any spills. Double bowls in the one pack are great to swap around, as are the different colours.DS

I did like these bowls even though I did return them. The reason for the return was because I thought they were the bowls that were able to be turned around to be filled without entering the kennel (for people feeding our animals while we are away). I did look at the bowls and they are a great construction the only thing when this was shipped t he company does not send instructions on how to install them to the kennel which if you are not sure how to do this could be confusing since I did think these were the ones that needed to have rungs of the kennel removed, then I figured out this was the fixed position and ordered the other one from another site.Suezq1991

Item is exactly as described. It was easy to attach. Should be sturdy enough to withstand our newly acquired German Police puppy. That will be a challenge to our entire homesite. We will probably have to exchange one of the bowls for a deeper on for adequate water if an occasion arose where he actually spent a full day in the pen. I bought my first Artisan Fossil double dog feeder off of a clearance site, after it had been marked down quite a bit. At first I thought that it was kind of pricey, but when I opened it up … WOW! This is a nice feeder. And it’s great looking, too. I have six Welsh Corgis, all are kept in the house. Corgis can (and will) test anything. I wasn’t sure that this feeder would last long. I couldn’t have been more wrong. The finish on this feeder is not painted or glued on – it’s the actual wood. And it’s water proof. This feeder has water in it 24/7. It’s never sloppily wet. The bowls hold the water where it belongs – in the bowl. The bowls are deep and hold a lot. They are white, so the water always looks clean. You can easily see if there is dirt or food in there. The bowls come out of the feeder easily and wash up nicely. Now, these bowls are ceramic material. I thought that they might break easily. I was wrong. After a year of constant licking and lapping, puppies playing through, filling, emptying, washing, scrubbing (I have a little rust in my water) drying – there’s not a chip or a scratch. And if there was, they sell replacement bowls! I could wrap my year old feeder/waterer up and pass it off for new! Six Corgis could not damage this feeder! So, if you want to treat yourself and your dog to something special, buy this feeder. There is also a single model, if that’s your preference. And even models for extra small dogs.Cherie

I have had the unit in use for a week or so. It was easy to set up. I like that the hopper part is solidly connected together. I have the occasional raccoon and they are unable to break in. I have it scheduled so there is nothing in it at night. I had to make a metal stirrup attached to the wall to keep little raccoon hands from tipping it over. For the manual feeding, it would be great to use the value from feeding size setting to dispense the amount of food, instead of manual stopping. It does a good job but it dispenses a good bit more than the settings indicate. You'll need to play with this to find your desired amount. Only other nit is that the food slides down a ramp into the bowl, but the ramp isn't really steep enough for all the food to reach the bowl. For a dog's tongue I'm sure it's not an issue, but our cat cannot reach all the food. I would certainly buy the dispenser again.WWWebb1
