Very effective harness for a small dog. It is lightweight, easily adjustable, and has reflective borders on the edges. I use the space under the latch to lift him up in the car. If I could give this harness zero stars, I would in a heartbeat. I purchased this less than a month ago, and tonight it broke with a 35 pound husky puppy in size medium (supposedly for dogs up to 50 lbs). One strap broke and he was instantly out of the harness and off he went. It was one of the scariest moments of my life. Thankfully we were able to call him over to us after sprinting to catch up to him, but there is absolutely no reason this should have broken. We only use it for public outings and like I said, have owned it for less than a month and made sure to purchase the proper size. It is incredibly panic inducing to watch your 5 month old puppy sprint away from you after you put him in something that is supposed to be safe and comfortable for him. As you can see in the attached photos, it looks like one flimsy string was holding this part of the harness together. Overall, pretty disappointed and hoping I just received a faulty product as no one should have to worry about their brand new harness breaking.rvchel

I got the dark purple and they are beautiful. I have two Crocker Spaniels. Both girls have a wide chest but a short back so they can be difficult to get things to fit correctly. These work great if you need a little room to play with the size because the top closes with velcro and then a clasp. If you're dog pulls these feel really solid. Overall they are well put together and the colors are eye catching. When I take both girls to the dog park in their matching harnesses I always get asked about where I got them and what colors do they have!!
I have 4 of these harnesses from a few years ago and loved them. I decided to order 2 more… Unfortunately the new ones all gape at the neck terribly! Even pulling it back more so it’s flat on the neck first doesn’t work as it won’t close the Velcro and then the arm holes rub under the armpits. I realized they changed the arm holes slightly (by overlaying it onto my old ones) and it’s thrown off the whole pattern. They are now useless. So Disappointing since all else is perfect- quality, price, patterns. Try the “Wrap & Snap” instead, it fits great and is nice for summer as there’s no extra fabric on the back.Dog Mom

These harnesses worked in a pinch for us. We took our dogs camping with us and we wanted to make sure to keep them safe. Pros: It is easy to put the harnesses on and take them off. They are a light weight material which allows for fast drying and minimal weight on the dog. They utlilize the the over the shoulder Y design style which is the least likely to impede a dog's range of motion in the front legs. The color was listed as salmon red but is more of a burnt orange which is actually good because of how close it is to safety hunter orange. Cons: This harness utilizes plastic buckles that are light weight and don't hold up to rigorous use. We don't utilize the leash clip on the rear portion of the harnesses because it is not sturdy if the dog pulls and this harness is not designed to handle load bearing forces. The only measurement used for sizing is measuring around the dog's mid-section or "girth" (not a good representation of many dogs). The harness does not come down the back far enough. Overall: The only reason we bothered getting these is because the other ones we ordered we placed on back order from a company that does custom dog gear and we wanted to keep our dogs safe from hunters or other people. As a professional dog training and care company we would prefer to go with other options because we have a high standard for our personal dogs. If you are on a budget or need something quick to satisfy a safety risk by all means get these or something similar, we certainly did. No one piece of equipment is the best, they all have their pros and cons and each buyer has factors that influence their buying choices. I prefer these over other harnesses due to the free moving open shoulder design. Love how lightweight but sturdy they are. Would like to see a small handle added. There is some shifting while walking due to leash angle and the fact that in many small dogs, the neck straps just don't seem to fit perfectly. If it's Tight enough for their neck. you can't slip the harness over the dogs head and loose enough to do so is too loose on their neck and allows more shifting. My dogs aren't heavy pullers so these issues dont detract too much from the value of having a very lightweight but strong harness that is easy on and off.Cynthia R.
My 68 lb. golden/standard poodle mix Gibson and I are longtime Ruffwear fans and have had several of their products over the years. He measures 32" around the widest part of his chest, so he's right on the cusp of the M or L sizing. He has always been a Large in Ruffwear harnesses (the Front Range specifically), but I had to return the Large Hi & Light for a Medium as the straps around the neck were way too big, even tightened all the way! The Large harness gaped at the neck. I was super bummed! Thankfully Ruffwear returns are super quick and easy, so I received the Medium replacement quickly, and it fits well, although maybe a little short on his torso. It seems fine, and he seems comfortable, so I don't think it's a problem, but my mom said it looks silly on him (rude!), which made me question whether that's how it's supposed to fit. It does seem to fit a little shorter on his torso than the Front Range, which, again, he wears a size larger. I did also want to mention the larger sizing because the sizing tool states to take the larger size if between sizes, which Gibson is, and I found that due to the length of the neck straps, we actually needed to size down! Hope that's helpful. Gibson is kind of deep-chested and leggy but generally seems pretty well-proportioned. He's built more like a poodle than a golden, for reference. Overall, though, I adore the color, and I absolutely love how lightweight the material is! Gibson gets hot easily and living in the South, I want to keep him as comfortable as possible, so this is an excellent summer alternative to the Front Range. I love the option to clip the leash to the front of the harness, although I do wish the front clip wasn't made of fabric (metal would feel more secure). The only problem I have is that the harness twists on him when he pulls even the slightest bit, and I find myself adjusting it on him frequently. This might be user error, though, and I'll keep working on figuring out the best fit for him. With a few tweaks, it would be perfect!Chelsea M.

This harness is the best fit for my dog! A lot of other name brand harnesses had too long of a chest for her but this one is the perfect length and can be adjusted to fit comfortably. Sewing of material is rough and causing uncomfortable wear; it's bulky and lumped in some areas. The sewing areas on the undercarriage where it is against Rocky's skin is rough, where the outside for the designs for people to see is smooth. Well sewn pieces of dog gear, but the use of them is not actually feasible. The rear harness is sloppy once you get it onto the dog. The size we ordered, per the instructions on the sales site, makes my dog like a sloppy joe in a too big bun. It is not a harness with long enough handles to wear over my shoulder as I walk him–as it was pictured and advertised to be. The handles are only long enough to hold, like a suitcase. It is therefore, a lot of work for the human with a 65 pound wily dog. The design is not great, and it is not useful at all. When you put this into the cart, the fabric twists because it's not engineered well. Do not buy from Handicapped Pets. Have someone sew you something that fits the dog and works.Jennifer P.

This is pretty easy to install on the bars. I love how the lead has adjustable loops so you can give them more or less leash length. My only issue was the hook that runs from side to side can give your pup to much freedom, especially if the doors are off the Jeep. My puppers attempted to jump out of the Jeep. We did however make the hook lock in place with a little ingenuity. But overall extremely satisfied with it and it’s purpose.AceR
I have a 3-legged pit bull mix that loves to go on car rides and this product was perfect for him. He likes to jump up on the back seats when in the trunk and likes to move around a lot, which causes him to fall often, and only having 3-legs worried me. This product fixed my worries, and also allowed me to not only keep him off the back seats, but keep him in the trunk when the tops off. Simple system that is extremely durable and flexible, with the option to hook your dog up to the seat belts (adding some level of safety for your pooch), or run the system over your roll bar and tighten the harness down easily so you can keep your dog where you want him. I bought this for my 55lb Border Collie/Austrailian Cattle Dog fur baby. I have leather seats though and wanted to set her up in the back of my jku, not on the backseat. I hooked the ends to the seat belts but put them behind the backseat instead of in front. I would say the concept of this product is a great one and the cost of it is feasible for those on a budget with quality material. That said it was a challenge for me to figure out how to get her harnessed in at first so you will need some patience. I'm also not 100 sure I had her secured tightly enough because when the trail got a bit bumpy you managed to jump over to the backseat. I fully convinced that once I get her tied in correctly this is going to be well worth the $ and will keep my furbaby safe.TinaW

We love this harness! It is lightweight and comfortable for my pup. Also love the updated chest attachment point. Doesn’t fray and is super strong. We use this for daily walks, hiking, as well as beach days. I love the lift and assist handle as well. It allows me to boost him in the car and on hikes. Also gives me peace of mind knowing I can scoop him up if loose dogs run up to us. He can’t back out of this one either. It dries quickly and the sand comes right off too. Zero complaints. Only a suggestion if you could 1. Add colors and 2. Switch all the Front Range chest attachment to the same one as this.Amber R.
A+ quality as I've found all Ruffwear products – great fabric, hardware, construction and design, and this style has been perfect for my Italian Greyhound who's been tricky to harness due to build, having thinner, more sensitive skin, and general wackiness simply not liking many harnesses where he fusses and/or refuses to move while wearing them. This style is lightweight and sturdy so it's supportive but not abrasive or restrictive. There's extra length to the side ropes to accommodate a larger rib cage, and the 2nd set of buckles to prevent easily backing out of it. My little guy (12-ish lb's / 17" rib cage / 9" neck) fits into the XXS perfectly. This has made for a huge positive improvement – making outings easier, reducing stress immensely and allowing for more adventuring that wasn't possible with other poorly fitted/constructed/designed equipment. Sandal has worn the Ruffwear WebMaster harness since we adopted him 8 years ago. He was able to pop collars, slide out of regular harnesses and run. The WebMaster harness is fantastic, but it gets a bit warm in the summer. Sandal is a mix of cold weather dogs, so we had to be careful with overheating. We picked up the Flagline Harness because it has a similar but lightweight design that might work for our furry Houdini. It's wonderful for summer walking, Sandal stays cooler but isn't able to slip out of this harness. It has the same fit with less weight and coverage than the WebMaster. If you need a lightweight, secure harness for a professional escape artist this is it.Leilani A.
