(Other groomer had a different oatmeal shampoo she carried… this groomer buys one kind in bulk and special shampoos can be brought in) He did well in terms of the new groomer and this shampoo had NO adverse reactions to the most sensitive poodle of the 4 I've had! I am sure this shampoo would of been nice but the whole order and exsperience with this company was ruined when they shipped my several bottles of shampoo in with treats made from intestines of buffalo that smell like fecal material so strongly it permeates the plastic shampoo bottles. I still can't get the bottles of shampoo I ordered to release the poop smell that premeditated the plastic bottles. So disappointed they where mailed together in same pouch! Very best natural shampoo on the market. My little morky is allergic to flea bites and if even one gets on her she will start scratching and all her hair starts falling out yntil we do something to get them off her which is usually a pill and a good bath to clean off the eggs this shampoo does exactly what its advertised to do and I hope they never stop making it. My dog is a beautiful, very sweet part Golden Retriever with his own wading pool. His favorite thing to do is stand in the wading pool and do his "Happy Dance" which consists of jumping up and down and around while splashing water everywhere, then going to roll in the dirt. We have a 3 lb yorkie with long hair and it can sometimes be a struggle to keep her hair silky and smooth. In the summer months we tend to give her a puppy cut though because our climate is so hot and humid. Because she is so small and doesn't particularly like baths, we always use a gentle shampoo, so the right ingredients are very important to us. This huge, 22oz Fresh & Soothing sensitive formula shampoo has aloe and oatmeal and smells wonderful! Just a pleasant, gentle scent like a perfect spring day. It's supposed to have a dash of cocoa butter. Clear in color. I may use it myself! It's a no tears formula so it is soap free, paraben free and will not ruin your flea collars. To use it we first got her wet in semi warm water then only applied a small amount because she's small. Didn't take long to lather at all and she seemed to love it. Her nose is very sensitive to scents. Rinses easily too, I guess because it's soap free. The only thing I don't like about this hypoallergenic shampoo is that I hadn't found it before now! From what I’ve heard, white area’s on dogs can give them issues. Well this is true for my Pup up to this point. Whether it’s too much sun, or getting irritated and red for whatever reason he gets it. So I tried Fresh and Soothing Shampoo for sensitive skin on him. When I poured it into my hand it was nice and thick, also smelled good but not overpowering. The shampoo lathered up well and felt rich as I was washing him down. It rinsed well and again didn’t leave any left over smell that was bothersome. After a day I noticed that the areas that seemed to be giving him the most problems have dissipated to a pink color instead of red. So what I’ve seen so far is that this product does help with irritation and redness. I will do this again next week to see if it continues to help or goes back to being irritated, I’m hoping for the best because it was nice to see him relaxing not focusing on licking or scratching. I started using this shampoo 12 years ago for my Akita who was highly allergic to fleas. This was the ONLY product that would calm his hot spots and give him relief. I recently tried this on my elderly hound dog who came down with some type of skin disorder after a day of hunting. I have been using this wonderful shampoo for over 10 years and have found it quite helpful in all sorts of skin problems, in particular dogs and cats with contact allergies known as atopic disease, the most common allergic skin condition seen in pets. Some of these contact allergens can be simple house dust mites, molds, grasses, trees, danders and pollens, depending upon the time of year. I find that those clients who have pets with these type of contact allergies(seen as pets with dry, itchy skin/feet or ears) benefit tremendously from regular shampooing with a product like this, up to once and even twice weekly during the bad allergy seasons for some pets. This shampoo is a natural oat grain derived product with a special type of technology in manufacturing it that can help for several days even after shampooing one time. It is moisterizing and soothing for those pets with dry and itchy skin or can be used as a maintenance shampoo in pets with normal coats. When used regularly in those pets with contact allergies, along with some of the excellent nutritional supplements from 1800petmeds including omega 3 fatty acids, and antioxidants like proanthozone, animal guardians can often cut down dramatically on their vet bills as well as sometimes the need for stronger prescription drugs or shampoos. I have not seen any side effects with this product. My overall rating of it from my 10 years experience is a 5. Its efficacy a 4.5. Ease of use a 5.
My shiba ink has dry flaky skin. We have tried a lot of shampoos and cream rinses, nothing helped. He is on premium food with no grains to help. Poor guy itched and scratched all the time. I bought both the orange/hemp shampoo and this one. Out of the two I like the smell of this one and it doesn't dry out my scotch collie's coat like the orange one does. It leaves his coat bright and fluffy. They both do lather as long as your dog is very wet…but require you to use more than the earthbath shampoo I was using before. I basically have to drizzle a stream of shampoo on both sides and down each leg to work up a good lather so I am going through it pretty fast. I started out not using enough. That is my main issue with the shampoo is that it is pretty expensive and doesn't go far if you have a long-haired, double-coated breed of dog. This is my 2nd order of products placed with 4-Legger and I couldn't be happier. One of my dogs had the dreaded frito smell (it's not diet) and between this and the Restore, his feet don't smell anymore. Also, he came to me 2 yrs with gnarly, course hair on his back near his butt. Over time on a healthy diet, his coat has improved a lot but I couldn't get the course stuff to smooth out. Again, between both, his hair is consistent now and as smooth as his 2yr old nephew's! My dogs are black and white and while it's not advertised for this, their coats are SO white, it's amazing. I have two chihuahuas and one of them is extremely allergic and has very sensitive skin. This has been the only dog shampoo I will ever use! I have a one year old "Beagador" : Chocolate Labrador and Beagle mix dog. So needless to say he is very hyper and won't stand for taking a bath longer than a few minute's! This shampoo a little goes a long way and it doesn't stay feeling stuck in his fur like some products do. It easily is rinsed out and has an awesome smell I love so much. Which I was surprised that even after a few days I could still smell it on Leo. It made his fur coat very soft and smooth. Really loved this product and so does my pups. One weekend both my doggies got sprayed by a skunk, naturally I went for tomato juice and another mixture of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda to bath them in. It worked wonders but after that I wanted to give them a nice soothing bath so I used this. I loved the scent and how calming it was for my pups. It smoothed my pitbulls skin really good and made both my other long haired babygirl and my potty smell good and have a smooth coat. It relaxed them a lot too after having been bathed at least 3 times each. I also added only 2 drops of lavender oil, so not too overpowering to there bath which also helped. Allegedly, this is a more natural option to be able to bathe your dog with, but as with all shampoos for animals you should consider / worry about the inactive ingredients as well in the shampoo, not just the fact “oh it’s oatmeal” and read the label, read the label, and for heaven sakes read the label in its entirety. Hartz products overall are not the most natural so. I like that it’s not overly scented as well. SOME shampoos are HEAVILY perfumed and I question is that good for my pup? I used other puppy shampoos for my lab pup and for a pup that loves water, he was always so uneasy during his bath. I tried the calm sensitive shampoo & wow, my pup was so much calmer?! This product not only smells great but also keeps my dog's coat soft and shiny. Originally I purchased this to help soothe my Collie Mix, Storm, skin. I found that there was an improvement in her coat though it did not completely soothe my baby's itchy back. Storm definitely does scratch one less itch after use of this product though the down side is I did notice she had just slightly more visible dandruff than normal. For those Pet parents who have fur babies with any allergies or skin conditions or should you suspect your pet to have any skin coat issues be sure to get the okay from your vet for any concerns prior. I have a 11wk ago Pomeranian & I found these products a few months ago. I use chi stuff in my own hair. So why not my fur baby and exclusively use them now, the shampoo, conditioner and a leave in conditioner. They make such a big difference. These products don't irritate her skin at all. I've got a rescue toy poodle with extremely curly fur, she gets knotted/matted very easily but hates being brushed. She also has very sensitive skin and a lot of products make her itchy. I found these products last year and exclusively use them now, the shampoo, conditioner and a leave in conditioner. They make a massive difference. These products don't irritate her skin and leave her fur extremely soft and manageable. There's good "slip" so it's much easier to brush out her curls and detangle. If you're familiar with poodles, brushing out their curls usually leaves them with the poofy poodle look, with these products her fur ends up being a soft wave that lasts quite a while. I know it seems extra, but for a dog that gets matted very easily and hates bring brushed, these products are a life saver. Brushing is 1000x less stressful for her and she doesn't get itchy anymore. My dog is a short haired dog and doesn't require to much up keep. He does have some dry skin. He always has, so I have to make sure that whatever I use doesn't dry his skin out. When we got him groomed in the past our groomer used bio groom and she told us it was good for his skin. She used a different type but the same brand. This was a great shampoo for my chihuahua. She has a skin condition and is constantly itching herself. I feel that it’s very gentle and doesn’t cause any buildup or irritation. This is a very good company and they have good products for humans and pets. My dog, unfortunately, happens to have very dry sensitive itchy skin. Especially during flea season. Just one flea bite and it's off to the races. She has severe "flea bites venom" allergy. So flea season I have to be hyper vigilant with everything from yard, home, pet flea and tick treatment, and grooming. I purchased this one day because I know that oatmeal is very soothing to itchy dry skin. I have used regular oatmeal as a paste and as a bath/rinse with very good results. This shampoo smells good, it was a little higher priced but I was OK as long as the results were equal to the price point. Sadly, I was not impressed. In this case it was the name brand reputation was bigger than the results. while it did clean her fur thoroughly and nicely , she was scratching a lot within the first few hours after her bath. And she was properly rinsed. I spend triple the time rinsing.  I put her back in the shower and rinsed her with the homemade oatmeal bath that I use. Regular old-school oatmeal, mixed with water, and just use it as a soak/rinse. I also put in a few drops of high-quality Teatree oil, the mother of apple cider vinegar, and a cup of chamomile tea. that's my homemade treatment for itchy sensitive skin this shampoo, for the price, did not meet my expectations. I have gotten similar if not better results from shampoos that were 1 to 5 dollars a bottle. Keep in mind this is just my opinion and my results on my dog. This is a great natural dog shampoo that i use on my dog regularly. I used to use a lot of product, like a quarter of the bottle every time I bathed my fur baby. I was told from my groomers to create a foam with some water and soap in a bottle and it makes the product lather better and uses so much less! My fur baby suffers from itchy skin and this shampoo seems to temporarily relieve that! I enjoy using this on my dog! This shampoo did not disappoint and I am happy with the results Im getting. This is a mildly scented shampoo and conditioner for puppies. It claims to neutralize tough pet odors without leaving a wet dog smell. My 4yo lab needed a bath so I used this. It lathered well and had a very faint smell but I still noticed an odor. Maybe it had something to do with the dog not being a puppy, who knows. I used Natures Miracle Hypoallergenic Unscented Shampoo a few times on my dog over 3 weeks. Having a sensitive dog makes it hard to find a shampoo that she can use. This was perfect for her. She didn't have any reaction ( I did a small patch test first). It has no scent and it is hypoallergenic. Making it perfect for dogs like mine that have skin allergies. It lathers very nicely and rises easily. It also helped to get rid of any odors even though it isn't scented. My puppy Hazelnut sometimes doesn’t smell to good. After using Nature’s Miracle puppy shampoo she smells a lot better. Her coat was whiter and softer after using. Her wet puppy smell was gone. I bought both the orange/hemp shampoo and this one. Out of the two I like the smell of this one and it doesn't dry out my scotch collie's coat like the orange one does. It leaves his coat bright and fluffy. They both do lather as long as your dog is very wet…but require you to use more than the earthbath shampoo I was using before. I basically have to drizzle a stream of shampoo on both sides and down each leg to work up a good lather so I am going through it pretty fast. I started out not using enough. That is my main issue with the shampoo is that it is pretty expensive and doesn't go far if you have a long-haired, double-coated breed of dog. This is my 2nd order of products placed with 4-Legger and I couldn't be happier. One of my dogs had the dreaded frito smell (it's not diet) and between this and the Restore, his feet don't smell anymore. Also, he came to me 2 yrs with gnarly, course hair on his back near his butt. Over time on a healthy diet, his coat has improved a lot but I couldn't get the course stuff to smooth out. Again, between both, his hair is consistent now and as smooth as his 2yr old nephew's! My dogs are black and white and while it's not advertised for this, their coats are SO white, it's amazing. I have two chihuahuas and one of them is extremely allergic and has very sensitive skin. I tried many shampoos looking for one that would be non-irritating and keep his sensitive skin moisturized to prevent his endless scratching of himself. I’ve tried so many different shampoos. Finally, I decided to give it a try to 4-Legger’s Soothe shampoos just because based on ingredient list it sounded super mild and even moisturizing. I’ll be honest that I purchased Soothe shampoo but I did not purchase the foamer bottle. Hmm…my experience wasn’t good without the foamer as basically the shampoo did not foam at all. So I ended up using to so of product and that wasn’t good. 4-Legger customer support was supper helpful and empathetic to someone like me who wasn’t used to using organic shampoos. Since I got the foamer bottle it changed it all as now the shampoo foams very well, making it super easy and pleasant to wash my pups. Best hypoallergenic, soft lavender smelling shampoo. I use this on all of our dogs, it smells great without being overwhelming, and it’s perfect for my dogs coats. Leaves their fu shiny and soft. The best part is this is a concentrate, so you don’t need a whole bunch of product.Rose
I love this shampoo! I use it for all of my dogs of different ages. I love the scent. Smells strongish if you sniff the bottle, but after the bath, the dogs have a light floral scent without it being too strong. I have liked some of the other Wahl shampoos also, but some leave the dogs smelling like "wet dog". This one does not. It does leave the dogs soft and fluffy. I have had no issues with the dogs being itchy. The shampoo creates a good lather and seems to rinse very clear. On another note, I'm cheap when it comes to dog shampoo! I spend $$ on dog food, grooming tools, beds, toys, chews, vet visits, etc., but when it comes to shampoo, I hate to spend more on their shampoo than my own! This shampoo is a GREAT value!
