I purchased the Large 24X16 in Neater Mat and I absolutely love it. It holds 1 Neater Feeder and a separate stainless steel bowl both of which hold water for my 6 cats. Since a couple of my cats are always dipping their paws into the bowls to drink water off of their paws, water was consistently being spilled onto the small mat I used previously as well as the carpet. I had to contact customer support myself to find out what happened and where the other mud colored rug I ordered was. I was informed that the mud color was sold out. This was the only decently priced dog mat I was able to find for the size & price that it was. The size is rather larger than I expected, taking up more floor space, however, it doesn't quite fit our pups 2 large stainless steel dog bowls side by side each other due to its bone shape. This is my second Waterhog product and they both are doing their job for me. Ideally this dog bowl mat would be an inch or two longer and wider, but it still does what it promises. My puppy is a sloppy drinker, so he leaves a lot of water “on the edges”, but most is absorbed by the mat. The look is cute with the rims around the bowls. I like the rougher texture and while I would have loved to have the evergreen color of my doormat, the beige does is beautiful. And I know it’ll last!Lucasmom

Item given as a gift, works well but if spillage is an issue, consider getting a larger mat. Used under a metal frame that holds the dog bowls about 6" above the mat; that frame does (barely) fit on the mat and based on the first month of use captures all the "normal" spillage of water/food. However, the mat is small and it does not take much of a spill to reach the floor, such as when a guest accidentally kicked the frame while walking by – in that case, the water travelled about 12" from the dish and almost completely missed the mat. (If the bowls were placed directly onto the mat, I suspect this type of problem would be lessened.) Otherwise, it works well: the rubber backing holds the mat in place (though it has help as the mat contacts a wall) and the mat does a good job of retaining liquid. We like that this is a Made in USA product.TLN in NJ
