I've tried numerous harnesses and never loved any until this one. I have a miniature rat terrier who is 13.5 lbs. He tends to be too big for mediums and way too small for large sizes. Finally, this harness fits perfectly in Medium! There's even a little room to spare in case he gets larger. We wanted to take off pressure from his neck and the v neck design and light weight, soft mesh is great! It's by far the softest one I've ever felt, and I've tried every one at multiple stores. It's so comfortable that it could be left on all the time even in summer since it's so breathable. My dog lives it too! He seems to feel safe and calmer in it like a thunder shirt makes him feel. The first time I took him on a walk he seemed to feel "free". He was so happy to pounce around without worrying about a jerk in his neck. We give this one 5 stars!!!! I got this in black, size medium from Amazon. She has a 12" neck and a 19" chest. This harness is adjustable around both neck and chest. My pup has a high chase drive and will sometimes pull suddenly. I like that the x-shape doesn't put as much pressure on her throat when she pulls, and the double d-rings and buckle closure feel very secure for her leash. This harnass lasted exactly three minutes. I put it on my dog, adjusted it, and she chewed it for a second and it completely tore. The company acknowledges that it can not withstand even a quick nip from your dog. Ridiculously poor quality. Their answer is for you to spend another 12.99 for a warranty to get another harnass which will do the same thing. Awful product that is expensive. Dismissive and unethical customer service. I really like the product. The two connection points give me more control over my reactive dog. A few months after purchase I noticed some of the nylon was unraveling near one of the box stitches. I contacted the company and provided pictures and they replaced it right away. Great product and great service.
Just know that this isn’t a miracle product that will completely stop your dog from pulling. It’s not a replacement for training. YOU as the owner have to teach your dog proper leash manners. But if you want more control, or you have a reactive dog, I definitely recommend this.Rachel Cormier

As I previously stated I bought two of these harnesses in two different sizes. A small and a medium as I was not sure which would work. The small is a great fit for my 13 lb Shih Tzu. But this is summer and she is shaved down. I am going to use the medium size for winter to go over her sweaters and coats. I bought this in a medium a week ago and I've used it around 2-3 times already. I have a maltipoo and she has a tendency to pull and try to go faster/farther and it would cause her to choke in her previous harness. However, not a single time since I've started using this has she choked/gagged. The sizing is a bit off for her though, since a small is too tight but a medium is too loose (but the medium isn't loose enough for it to be unsafe/falling). This harness is true to its name and is so helpful for dogs that try pulling and end up choking. It's also super softer than her old one. I also bought a small for my yorkie and I think she loves it! Normally she hates harnesses but this one she doesn't seem to mind! I feel like it makes her more comfortable when she's walking as her previous ones weren't the most softest like this. This is my third Gooby harness. Small size worked well when she was a puppy. She outgrew the Small we got her a medium and there was a small sign of tearing on this harness when we upgraded her to large. We got her the large pink and the fabric tore in half. The black fabric on the edge was the only thing keeping it together. Our dog weighs 18lbs but she’s built like a tank. If you have a dog that pulls I wouldn’t recommend this harness. I wanted a front clip harness for my adolescent SDIT who needs a bit of extra "steering" right now. I thought this harness would be perfect, but after using it once, I realize that the description didn't give neck measurements. Buying based on girth size alone, I ended up with a harness that hangs on my adolescent German Shepherd (whose girths usually fill out long before their necks). With such a loose neck on front clip harness, the whole thing spins. There's no way to size it down. So for anyone with a young deep-chested breed, watch out for that. Otherwise, my dog clearly liked it. The Y (between the front legs) strap design is ergonomically superior to traditional harnesses, especially with growing dogs. It's lightweight and comfortable. Like all my other Active Dog harnesses, the quality is second to none. It should be a great harness for my dog during the heat of summer after he's filled out. I love how reflective it is. (In the photo, the restaurant patio was quite dark. The harness was impressive the way it lit up when the flash hit it.). It's a nice enough harness that I'll just put this away until late summer. We received the no pull service dog harness, padded cordrua clip on bridge handle and ID that we just ordered. Much sooner than we expected. We new we wanted a no pull harness for our (working) service dog because they have work so well our other (pet) dogs. The minute we took this harness out of the box it exceeding our expectations just in quality construction. We ordered a M/L using the "how to fit your dog" chart. The sizing chart was an excellent resource. We adjusted the straps to fit. And are very pleased with a fit that will support the growth our dog will experience. I just got a couple Airdale Terrier puppies that are about 4 1/2 months now. They're in training now so I wanted to find something that would be comfortable for them while learning to walk on leash. My daughter told me about these harnesses and how they're like a hug for puppies/dogs. I decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. They fit perfectly. I love this mixing leash and harness set! It is really cute and soft. I was very impress that it was labeled with the different body parts. Which makes putting it on your dog a piece of cake. This was my first time ever using a harness with the loop in the front of the chest. It's perfect for training dogs of all ages to walk properly on a leash. My fur baby is not a fan of the leash and as you can see. He is a puller and he don't like that I can change his direction to whatever I am going. It is very difficult to purchase a properly fitting harness for my dog. He is not broad shouldered and has a long, somewhat narrow torso relative to his overall size. I decided to follow the sizing chart and it fits him very well. The harness is a bit lower profile than others he has had previously, but it's easily the best fitting one he's had to this point.

As I previously stated I bought two of these harnesses in two different sizes. A small and a medium as I was not sure which would work. The small is a great fit for my 13 lb Shih Tzu. But this is summer and she is shaved down. I am going to use the medium size for winter to go over her sweaters and coats. She is also is not shaved down for colder weather so I tend to buy larger sizes for the colder seasons. Besides the price was great.Marlene D

The hair, skin, and dirt particles get stuck in the inside of the harness. I tried to wash it several times and it doesn’t come out and not that clean. I don’t put it in the dryer still the outside is cracking a little! I brought it in April and I’m writing this review on July 31, 2021. I brought a XL and with all the negative I would still buy it again if I had to. I love the Durability that it gives me to be able to control my fur baby when he gets happy to see other people. This is a good product. It is a really long harness so it bunches up in the middle when my dogs sit and when we are walking sometimes. The quality of the material is good and I do not feel like they are going to pull out of the harness. I do have an issue with the sizing chart. I got a large because that is what I normally have to get for my labs and then after the order looked at the chart. It showed that I should have gotten an XL at least. I picked this harness because it looked comfortable and tough, both highly important things when it comes to gear my dog wears. My dog is a husky/border collie mix and walking him with only a collar is unpleasant for both him and me. With this harness I have much better control with him, and he seems happy to wear it. What a fantastic harness! My 90 pound dood is a consummate outdoorspoodle and now he can pack his own water, snacks, and frisbee thanks to the bungee cord feature. The harness is wonderfully customizable. I have a Huge, deep chested giant pal who is wearing the 2-3X size. The straps are incredibly adjustable at the shoulder, neck, and across the girth to fit a wide variety of pup shapes. The material is extremely durable, seems to resist staining (I give it a quick rinse when my mudpuppy has really had fun), and most important, the harness is lightly padded for comfort. My pal literally jumps for joy when he sees it because he knows he's off on an adventure. I also love the bright yellow which pops at night when we are out exploring. The bungee cording is threaded though material that feels like the hook side of velcro. I plan to purchase the Backcountry X Petco Go Bag so we can carry even more fun along on our adventures. I have a 6 lb puppy, 3 months old. I have been trying various harnesses. This seem to be the best as far as a step in harness. It seems my pup has a short neck so the over the head harness comes to close to his chin and he is able to get his mouth around the top. This harness is a step in harness easier to get on. However, since it is an XS it could have been a little narrower around the paw holes. It seems to come right up to the shoulder joint. Also the "D" hooks for the leash do not lay flat if you are at the tightest fit. Because of that, I remove the harness while indoors, especially when playing with other pups.
