I purchased in 06-2019. it's worked great until 05-2021 . now it won't stop barking unless I turn the range button down almost to the bottom.. but then I get no sound when motion occurs.sherie

issue/review: Product arrived packaged well, but it is defective. Only one of the remote outdoor sensors works; One will "see" ir and trigger the alarm. The other will not as can be show by the feed-back red LED and main alarm "sounding off". The main alarm unit does trigger on it's own, but is not reliable. Some times it senses other times you can walk right up to it and it will not trigger unless right in front of the sensing area at a distance of 1-2 feet and remain there for about 40secs or more. That is you can walk up a path toward the trigger area. It might not sense you until you are 2 feet away. Other times it will sense a human at 15 feet. IR sensor (the one that works): it does the job just fine for the one that is working. I have not tested if works from outside, because I want the main unit fixed first. The IR did have a line of sight range of about 20 feet to trigger the main unit. It works for my application. I do not know the transmission range nor if it will transmit through brick walls. Nor do I know the battery life of the IR remotes. I would like to see a solar or AC adaptor for them. Even as an option. Then I would not have to worry about them being off. You will not know if they are not working unless you trigger the IR and look at the feed-back LED. Main unit function Remote works fine. Sound of dog barking is good enough for my use. I just want it to alarm me someone is at my front door or location being watched. The battery only mode (power outage) does not work. Unit only works with AC adaptor. Tried using all new batteries and testing all batteries to verify they are 100% full. That is a show stopper for me.seacowboy

We call him Rusty. It works pretty good. Initially there were a lot of false barks, but after turning the sensitivity down to about 50%, false alarms are much lower. Still every now and then he will bark some when nothing is there. But it's not too bad. When someone is really there, he works perfect. The dog bark sounds realistic and ferocious. The closer you get, the bark response. We only have him activated when we are away. When we are hear, my 12 gauge shotgun is the deterrent.jereece

I wondered if I would really like the barking dog alarm when I ordered it… and am happy to say I like it very much! The neighbors on either side of me have been burglarized but we never have, probably due to my German Shepherd, Hellmutt. He is very protective of us and our property. When one of the neighbor's burglar was caught on camera, you could actually hear Hellmutt barking in the background. We do like to travel, however, and Hellmutt is boarded during these periods. Thus the barking dog alarm order… The bark sounds just like his! Obviously, it isn't exactly as though he is at the door, but very much sounds like he is in the house. The main alarm senses people coming up to the front door… and we also purchased two motion detectors that program to the alarm. You can put these wherever you think someone might try to enter, for example, the garage door, gate, bedroom, etc. They also work very well, igniting the barking when they sense motion. We don't know for certain if they have discouraged burglars, but we do know that such people will move on to easier "pickings" if they think a dog is home. Best thing, since sliced bread ! Like many other people I hesitated a long time to make the purchase due to the cost and could have saved myself a lot of sleepless nights if I bought this sooner. My neighbour has a German Shepard and another big dog. Their favourite time (although not the only time) is to bark through the night in close proximity to our bedroom window. Both dogs are untrained and the owners don't care about the nuisance their dogs are causing. The German Shepard's barking improved within a day. The other dog is older and still barks, but less and now goes to the other side of their property where the barking is not causing such a nuisance. We have mounted the device on our TV antenna on top of our roof due to the neighbour's property being higher than ours and will raise it more, which may perhaps help sort out the barking on the other side of the house as well. When the dogs are out of reach of the bark pick-up zone, I simply push the remote, which works great from almost my whole house. The remote and I are now inseparable when I am home. So far this thing is a lifesaver. I WILL say, we live on a city block, where about 6 yards converge in one area, with lots of fences between. We mounted ours from a 2nd story-patio pointing down into an adjacent yard where two VERY territorial dogs reside in the backyard. The owners let them randomly run in and out for every little noise they year through the doggy-door to bark for HOURS. The device is quite sensitive, I have to keep it turned down almost as low as possible so it doesn't go off randomly (in audible mode), for every little sound it picks up. But it does go off for the dogs, and it does seem to work on them because they'll immediately whine after 3 barks and then circle the backyard before heading back indoors. No more barking at every single neighbor for simply opening a door, or LOOKING OUT A WINDOW DOWN AT THEM, or even seeing a silhouette behind A CLOSED CURTAIN. YEESH. Very happy with this device, just wish it wasn't SO sensitive considering the dogs are close proximity and we're in a louder-than-usual-living-situation, also wish the AC Adaptor had a sliiiightly longer cord.Kim H.

We have some great neighbors who have several dogs, one or two of which bark far too much. After several years of enduring it I decided to try this Ultimate Bark Controller. I mounted it to our house about 10 feet above the ground and pointed directly into their yard. I turned the sensitivity to max and set it on audible so I could tell when it was being triggered. Almost immediately it began to have an affect. It didn’t stop the barking completely or all at once, but over time it has greatly reduced the amount of barking and especially the needless barking. If people walk down the sidewalk the dogs still bark, but without anything to instigate barking their problem barkers are much quieter dogs now. This has helped out our neighborhood. This is a more realistic version of this unit. The dog barking is much more realistic and variable in its barking. The newer unit, which I also have is harder to operate and less sensitive. I recommend this unit despite it's continually increasing cost and declining availability.jaegerjohn

This works great…. we have a lab that is sure the house and all of it’s contents are hers. Pet gates slow her down but don’t stop her. So my apartment is 700 sq ft. I'm on 1st floor. 1 window in bedroom. 1 back patio sliding door. Front door. My building is fairly secure. Have to be buzzed in and have keys for side entrances. But I wanted simple protection/warning, being a female and not taking security for granted. I sleep much better with the sensors on, along with my trusted piece. They're just peel and stick on, though it came with mounting screws. I used some heavy duty velcro strip for the keypad/front door. If they come unstuck, which it doesn't appear they will, I'll velcro them as well. Make sure they're aligned properly. They're loud enough even if you just need the warning that an entry has been breached. They'll definitely scare off an intruder. The door keypad/sensor is good and super loud. I have 1 leftover sensor and may just stick on window for even more sound. So here's a couple things negative… the light on the sensors doesn't stay illuminated when they're set. In order to turn off a tripped sensor, u have to slide the battery cover off. The switches are pretty small. The batteries could be regular ones, but maybe these (I call them watch batteries) last longer idk. You also need to have 3 AAA batteries for the keypad becuz they're not included.(not a negative just a need to know). They could've come with the warning stickers for display, but I'm going to order them for a few more dollars. But that's it. Great price for sense of security and deterrent. Product isn't flimsy. Purchased for my bull arab (50kg) who goes barking mad on the way to the beach in the tray of the ute. It's only excitement but upsets all other dogs around. I only put it on 3-4 and he barked once, then was quiet for the rest of the ride. Haven't tried in in water (especially salty water as the last collar perished because of this) but it's easy to put on and remove so not a hassle when we get there. Also very sturdy.Ingrid B.

Exactly what i was after Only ever have had to use it on level 2 and it has shocked my dog maybe twice and she doesn’t really bark much at all anymore. I only have to put it on every now and again if she gets barky again but it’s made an amazing difference in our home. Our dogs were barking all day everyday and we live on a corner block so whenever anyone walked past they would bark their heads off and wake the baby. Now they walk to the fence and sniff. We have a very very stubborn German Shepherd male who barks through all of the cheaper collars we have bought him. I swear he barks at the wind or an ant crawling past the gate it was unbearable and many many sleepless nights. We bought the Dogtra YS600 and had to buy longer prongs as his hair is SO thick. We came here from Oklahoma, where we had purchased several packs of these alarms. We are full time RVers, and had an attempted break in while asleep about 3AM. I had forgot to lock the front door. My wife heard the door latch and woke me up. Anyway the intruder had left be the time I got up and to the front door. These alarms are super sensitive. As the batteries get weaker, the sensitivity degrades rapidly. As this happens, at times the alarm goes off by us inserting the door key in the door, and at other times gently opening the door elicits no alarm at all. So keep checking the batteries. The wind blowing hard against the door will set it off. So where you place the alarm on the door(s) can effect the sensitivity as well. A small little device that can alert you of a window or door being opened. The siren is loud enough to wake you up in the middle of the night. So, if someone opens any of my home openings, you are alerted. For less than six bucks you have a cheap but useful alarm.Dewey

I'll first start by saying I never do reviews. However I was at my wits end with our nine month old chiweenie. I thought my husband was going to kill me and the dog…and I was praying my neighbors did not have guns because this little 8 pound cutie barked like a 100 lb squealing pig at anything and everything! Previous to this device I tried the citronella collar and the ultrasonic remote. Neither phased her. I will say on day one I thought this thing was a piece of junk. I called pet safe and learned that the collar needs to be tightly fitted on the dogs neck or it will not work. After adjusting the collar and I was still on the phone with the representative my Daisy girl went outside and I witnessed it working immediately. We still have some light barking which I imagine occurs before the strengthened static but it is completely manageable. I will say after reading the reviews we have lucked out with the battery… It has been in use with an aggressive Barker for a month and still has not needed to be replaced. Our only downside is that the collar is bulky… I take it off when she comes inside. If I do forget to put it on when she goes outside she will bark up a storm again! I bought two Basic Static Bark collars to help alleviate my puggle's and beagle's separation anxiety barking when we are not at home. The collars are fitted properly and in accordance with instructions and the batteries are working, yet BOTH dogs continue to bark. The biggest problem is that both collars tend to move to one side of the dogs' necks, so the dogs are probably not receiving the static correction. The directions state to "REPOSITION THE COLLAR ON THE PET'S NECK EVERY 1 TO 2 HOURS.." Obviously, if we are not home, this is impossible to do. I wasted almost $100 on collars that do not work on either dog. Petsafe customer service recommended that I should purchase the more expensive Deluxe Petsafe Collar. No thanks. I bought this about a week ago after I received a complaint from a neighbor and was given a warning from our HOA for disturbance. We had just moved in about a month ago and didnt want to make enemies. My dog barks at everything. From shadows, birds to airplanes. I decided to give this a try. I was skeptical and thought for sure this wouldn't work. I put it on my dog and let him loose in the backyard. Sure enough he barked once and to my surprise, stopped! Was sceptical and know it doesn't work on EVERY dog but I have annoying small dog owned by a neighbour in my apartment complex that always rushes up to their grille and barks its head off when anyone uses the lift near their door. I zapped it with the Dazer II and I could visibly see it got a shock, stopped barking, and backed off. I've used it several times and now the dog has started to become a little fearful of rushing to the door grille and barking. I am pleasantly surprised that the Dazer11 appears to work. I have 4 yapping chihuahuas Nextdoor that must breath through their bums. The barking is nonstop for 8,10,12 hrs a day. It drives a sane person mental. I have used this a couple of times & it shut them up pretty quick smart. I am however getting annoyed at the amount of emails I am receiving from the company. Not bad. The first one I got I ended up giving to a friend who was having issues with her own dog and others while walking. I had used it for quite a while before hand and was happy with it. Decided to get another for myself. The recent one was quite a bit more expensive than the first sadly. However I feel secure with it on board. It has helped me out on a few occasions with aggressive dogs. Though if used on a particular dog several times (useless dog owners) it seems to lose it's effectiveness. Perhaps they just get use to it. Also I found not all dogs respond to it. I guess dogs have varying levels of hearing even deafness. However all in all I would recommend.Trevor

So here is how our experience went….. The device did not activate when my pug barked at all, it did go off however when my bigger dog and any people laughed. With that being said I modified it a tad…. So I covered up the microphone and used it as a manual device only. 2 things happened….. 1 my dogs only needed to hear it a few times 2 I show it to them and that is enough to control their unwanted behavior. It took not even 24 hrs for this thing to put the fear of god in my pups. I can enjoy my time with them and not be constantly redirecting them or trying to stop them from acting up. My husband came home to a quiet house. Does it work, technically, did it work perfectly as intended by the manufacturer, not really. If you use it like I did, you will see results. I've seen handheld devices that do the same thing but are far more expensive. This is cheaper and does the same thing. I've had this for about three months, and it has greatly reduced my dogs barking (which was extremely loud and set off by anything or anyone who passed by outside). Prior to this I tried a bark collar and, for various reasons, it just didn't work for my dog. I am almost afraid I'm jinxing myself by writing this because things have been soo much better. I usually keep it in the kitchen, since this is where my dog is during the day when I am gone. Sometimes I bring it to another room with me, but generally speaking, I don't need to. She knows its around and that alone has reduced the barking. One quirk I will share, so you can just be aware of it, is that I have accidently set it off with dishes. Like when I'm piling dishes together to bring to the sink or the dishwasher and they clank. I realized this because of few times in a row when I was gathering up dishes, my dog was suddenly at my side nudging me and looking sad. That is when I noticed that the red light on the unit had been engaged. So I've tried to just be more aware of setting it off this way, although I totally did it this morning when cleaning up after breakfast.sheilaXtracy

So I have a 3 year old wonderful mutt that I rescued at 7 weeks old. She’s spent her entire life living in the same apartment so one might think she was brought up with sounds in the hallway and therefore be use to them but one would be wrong. She loves defending her home from the neighbours coming and going and just living their lives. She also never got use to me leaving her alone and averaged a good 60 to 120 seconds of heartbroken barks after I shut the door. All to the annoyance of my neighbors I’m sure. So when I saw this contraption on sale I thought I’d give it a try. I had every little hopes it would do much of anything but I’m surprised and pleased to report it honestly could not have worked much better!! The results came very quickly. Within the first day the barking ceased almost entirely. She more or less just grunts at noises the the hallway now and when I leave there’s no more heartbroken barks!! I really am surprised at how well this has worked! I am in no way affiliated with this product, I’m just a satisfied customer that when finds a good product gives it its due feedback. This is one nice added security door stop/alarm. Although, the rubber base that supposed to grip floor might not grip if force is applied. A smooth tile,cement,hardwood, or low pile carpet can slip . I tested with rubber grip tape wrapped around bottom and grip was ok. Carpet might need a few metal spikes secured by duct tape. Mine works great, both bark and siren alarm. Loud enough to alert me through house. Metal bar is sturdy .hobo

The security bar is sturdy, but the alarm, both sounds, do not work and does not activate when doorknob is touched or wiggled. Will keep it for securing the door, but certainly wish the alarm worked as described. I was planning to order two more, but cannot after checking out the first one.Collections Fan

Our new pup now almost 1 1/2 years old, was a barking machine. Hard to control or stop. We got this hoping that would help and it has. Our dog has a LOT of fur and it was hard to get contact but when that issue was resolved we noticed the barking decreased within a day or two. When we took off the collar, there was a tendency for our dog to ramp up again but once it was back on, the excess barking stopped. The dog has now figured out, collar on, no barking. Collar off, barking some is ok. Hopefully that goes away with time. Next we need to work on whining, sigh…Mossman1

The PetSafe Bark Collar has been a tremendous help with our Australian Shepard who loved to bark at anything and everything from dusk until dawn. We put the collar on right away and it started working immediately for him. It doesn't seem to hurt him at all. I think it startled him more than anything but he is fine. We are able to take him on walks now and to the park . The kids are not scared of him anymore and we can actually talk to each other calmly without having to get frustrated trying to talk over his barking. I read all the reviews on a lot of bark collars and the PetSafe Barking Collar – PBC17-16635 by far had the best reviews. After talking with my husband we decided to purchase. Once received we read the instruction manual and did as it said but no matter what we did nothing was working. I emailed and Jason sent through a video lnk which gave us more of a clearer understanding of what to do. Upon following those instructions I cant fault it. We've been using this bark collar on our German Shepherd and it's working! He barks at everyone out the front window or while on car rides and his bark is very loud. I've tried other collars in the past that give off a beeping noise and can be controlled by a remote control, but that beeping sound scares my mini poodle too much so we had to stop using it. I was excited to try this collar knowing it releases a different type of sound. So far it distracts the GSD and works to deter him from barking. This collar is a game changer when it comes to training your dog! We have a lab that loves to chew on everything and dig in the yard. Purchased this after we could not get our dog from barking at our next door neighbor. Its been about a week and the barking has stopped. I tried the tone and vibration at first and neither had any effect on him. Next i tried the unscented spray. Weve only had to use it a few times and the barking has stopped. I charged the collar and remote when I first got it and havent needed to charge it since. Charge the collar prior to using on your dog. Follow instructions included with the unit. Easy setup. My dog, a Plott hound who is quite vocal, learned to stop barking using the auto rise setting. Bark odometer nice feature to determine how often the unit provides correction. Noted less corrections the more Jax wore the collar. May try just vibration setting when corrections minimal. This is an amazing product as long as it is used properly with verbal training. Two of my dogs were trained with these by a professional trainer. He advised me to train the rest of my dogs with them and have them on hand so my dogs wouldn't regress. Basically all I have to do is tell them (I have 4 hunting dogs) to quiet down and show them the collars now and immediately then listen. If not I put them on, but that is rare and only if there are rabbits outside they want to get at. When I started training I started with verbal command and then put the collar on when they wouldn't listen. Rarely did they need more than vibration to stop. It took a total of 3 weeks to train them to listen to verbal commands. When you have 4 dogs in the house it's important be able to have control. This product helps achieve that!jennifer.c

I assume this collar works. However, I believe my dog has learned from past collars that a shake of the head will move the tightest collar just far enough off center to lessen the shock. Either that or he just sucks it up and keeps barking. I've turned it up to the highest and it only reduces his barking by maybe 5% . It blinks and registers the correction, but apparently he's not suffering enough to quit all together. So I am not sure if the problem is him or the collar. I would suggest the vendor change the collar to add a non slip material instead of the slick shiny stuff they currently use. That might stop the "shake off".ShellyB

Swann makes great security systems and the additional siren and alert kit works well. The motion sensors and window/door sensors provide an extra layer of protection to our home. A great way to protect your family from any unwanted guest.Tdav71

I bought this a month ago to extend onto my Swann system I already have. The door/windows sensors I have paired numerous times and made sure the magnets are connecting but is hit and miss if it actually captures and alerts that a door has been opened or closed. the motion sensors are useless as they go off all the time even with no movement to detect. I walk past them and they don't work or it alerts 5 minutes after motion. I've tried re pairing but still the same and no way to adjust sensitivity through the security app. The only thing I've benefited out of was adding the siren which does trigger with my cameras. Was an expensive siren.DR1977

I was happy with how simple this product was to setup. It installed easily and was pretty easy to understand. I had no real issues and it seems to be working just fine as advertised. It gives you an added sense of security.Dadofmany
