I'm using this as an outdoor waterer for a rabbit. Selected this hoping the filters would prevent mosquitos from getting in water tank and reproducing as they had in my big poultry waterer. So far it seems to be working. Nice that it's easy to lift off tank to clean metal dish, too. Doesn’t automatically dispense water at least half of the time. I’ve had to start walking by and checking/adjusting the jug multiple times a day bc the jug was visibly full but my dog was acting thirsty. Bc of the stainless bowl it’s hard to see unless you’re up close that there’s not actually any water in the bowl, despite the tank being full. I have to wiggle it or sometimes pick it up entirely in order to get water flowing again. It’s a great concept but it’s not built very well. I bought both the large and medium versions of this PetSafe Healthy Pet Water Stations for my dogs. These PetSafe versions are much better water stations than other water stations that I've owned recently. First, the fill caps are exactly the same and interchangeable between both the large and medium version. The fill caps also have spring cut off valves and a closable plug valve that is used with an added filter. The somewhat strange shape of their water reservoir bottles make the bottles much easier to carry. The black handles on the water bottles are primarily used to lock the bottles into the plastic bases. You can carry the larger bottle by its full grip handle, but not the medium bottle as there is no handle opening to wrap your hand around with the medium bottle's handle. Both of the water stations have a removable metal water bowls/basins which is dishwasher safe. About the only thing negative thing about these PetSafe Healthy Pet Water Stations is that they do NOT come with the special water filters as I expected them to because the filters were listed as "included" on the items web page. So I was a little irritated that these water stations didn't come with their water filters. My order took about a week to 10 days to arrive and they arrived on the same day in separate shipping boxes. These items were not shipped in their retail boxes but were instead sent in simple clear plastic bags that were taped closed.BillyDeeMe

Just what we needed. Our new puppy was flipping over every different type of bowl I tried, even a mixing bowl with a rubbery bottom on it. I got this one and it was an immediate success. He tried to flip it and could not, and after a few days he gave up trying and just eats out of it instead of dumping the food out to eat from the floor. Works well, has a few issues but nothing really bad. The bowl holds water good and doesn't splash around even in a off road trail. The lid has a large o ring that seals up tight, sometimes to tight by that I mean it cant get air in tank to let the water rise into drinking area. So sometimes you have to burp it to get water in bowl, could use a air inlet to correct that. I like the probability of it. The blue lid broke a piece out of it, just the edge, so now I have a air inlet for.this one. Seems to still work fine maybe even better but will leak if tilted, where it doesn't leak with normal seal ring. I like it over all and purchased a second one.daveo7777

The base has crevices between the two pieces that have been pin-welded together, so it’s just a slime trap. I was going to return them (I bought two), but I decided to try one out. It’s a bit of a pain to get the reservoir onto the base without making a huge mess. Even when I have it on, it overflows and makes a huge mess. Also, this doesn’t seem to be filter friendly as it doesn’t use the same lid as the plastic permeate water dispensers. We’ve only used it for a couple of days, and it’s already nasty. I have never seen a stainless steel waterer until I discovered this. It is perfect since plastic dishes can increase the risk of seizures. Also stainless steel is easy to keep clean. Only wish it came in a bigger size like the plastic/resin ones. Someone suggested trying a standard 5 gallon bottled water with it. My 3 cats share this bowl with my two dogs. The inlay of this bowl is made of stainless steel which allows easy cleaning. It does have some weight to this bowl and the nonskid ring on the bottom prevents any sliding around. The outer layer I feel is also stainless steel it's just that it is coated so it doesn't slip out of your hands when it's wet. I actually like this bowl however while it says 12.5 cups of water that would bring it up to the very rim of the bowl itself. If anyone is going to fill it to the rim then they are best to fill it at its final location otherwise you will spill some thru transport to its final destination. IMO it is best if you only fill it up with 11 cups of water. All in all, this is a really nice bowl for food or water. If you use it for water make sure to wash the slim built-up that occurs in ALL stainless steel bowls. My cats drink from this bowl also, so it's not just for dogs. It is great to eliminate whisker stress in cats which I really like.
The Lucky Dog Indulge 5 – 40oz Dog Bowl is certainly one that will withstand the daily usage of any size dog. The size of the dog bowl is especially perfect for larger dogs as their consumption would normally require plenty of refills. The dog bowl has a nice design to it creating a rugged bowl that will withstand dents and dings that sometimes appear on lower grade dog bowls. The stainless steel design will eliminate any rusting potential however it does not make the bowl too heavy when transporting it. Our dog appeared to be drawn to the bowl which is not normally the case for him. The design of the bowl seemed to keep a cooler water temperature even though it was outside in the sun on a hot day. The bottom of the bowl has a non-skid rubber gasket that reduces movement on floors while the dog is drinking. The bowl is offered in two colors to match your décor. The logo on the side and the imprinted logo on the bottom add a bit of style to the bowl for any household. This bowl is one that will last for quite a while given its rugged construction.Barts2
This is a darn good looking water bowl that is well built and should last a lifetime. It is a powder coated steel and double walled like most of the fancy thermoses everyone has these days (which is great if you want to have this custom engraved). It's about 4" tall, 9" in diameter, and will hold 3/4 of a gallon. It has a rubber ring on the bottom to keep your pup from scooting it around and is dishwasher safe. While this is double walled and insulated, do keep in mind that it has a large exposed area open at the top, so don't count on this to keep your pups water as cold for as long as your fancy tumbler does with your drinks. Overall, I'm not sure that there is much else to note. This is a clean looking, well made, and practically bullet proof bowl that's great for water or food.Matt L.

Generally I like the product, but the finishing could be better. There is a sharp edge on inner lip in places and on some of the "diamonds" on top. Even I snagged some skin on my finger as I was inspecting. A way to lock in place so the bowl could be hung on a wall, instead of having to rest on floor. For the amount of money (nearly $100 w/shipping) that should be expected. I'd grade it a B, could be an A with some extra care.pac c.

The bowls themselves seem great but they come with sticker labels on the inside of the bowl that do not peel off cleanly. We've had the bowls soaking in water and have been trying to scrape the sticky residue off for days with very little progress. I honestly would buy these from somewhere else rather than deal with this. If the labels continue to be so sticky, they should at least put it on the bottom side of the bowl instead of where the food and water go.Elizabeth
