I bought this for my dog’s (14 year old Shar Pei) keratin buildup on his nose and paws. It dissolved the stuff great and I was able to wipe off the stuff on his paws after one application. That was really impressive. My dog has fairly mild Hyperkeratosis but his nose gets a fairly thick layer of buildup, and this product allows you to remove it fairly easily after a few applications over a couple days and a cooperative pooch. I was really impressed with how well it worked. I use it now preventatively which prevents bad buildup on his nose and paws, so all in all I’m certainly a big fan. I recommend at least the 2oz can if you think you’ll use it on the paws. The 2 oz can generally lasts me a couple months even with multiple applications per day. We try to administer this before we feel our dog will get anxious or as soon as we notice her anxiety acting up. Molly is a 9YO terrier mix (50lbs) who gets stressed over fireworks, wind, loud noises and when strangers come over. It takes about 15 min for the effects to kick in but once they do she'll calm down during a storm and lay down rather than pace. During fireworks she'll typically find a corner to hide in but when she's had a dose she'll usually sit calmly on the couch. I will say however it is slightly difficult to administer. We need to force it on her (which doesn't help the situation) but we try and counter that with a few treats after for doing a good job in taking her medicine. Perhaps Natural Pet can offer suggestions on ways to administer it, perhaps soaking a piece of bread?… Overall I feel it works well for our dog.

Sorry not a review but a question. Sounds like this works well but I have a horrible time keeping my Shepard from licking his wounds. My standard poodle suffers from outdoor allergies. After battling them all summer the vet just said to double up on benadryl. I felt like I was drugging my dog. I saw an ad for these chews and thought it would be a better option to at least give it a try. My boy wasn't sure about the taste the first day and I had to wrap it in cheese. The second day, and every day since, he's gobbled it right down just like a treat! To test the results I totally stopped the benadryl and only gave him these chews. He only showed minor symptoms a couple of different occassions in which I went ahead and gave him a single dose of bendryl as needed. But the majority of days were symptom free (his biggest symptom is chewing his paws) and no benadryl needed. What's even better? Wow is right, because I am floored at how well this works! I have 2 pups with horrible allergies – one that nothing else works for. I've tried all different meds, including shots, and she still suffered horribly during allergy season. I reluctantly decided to try this, but we were in the middle of allergy season, and watching her suffer is just too much. Fast forward to July 2019, and my order came in the mail. I gave two of the chewables to my pup the next morning, not expecting much, but just hoping that there would at least be a little relief. Much to my surprise, she didn't scratch AT ALL that day!! My senior dog's liver values have been elevated due to medications and age. SAMe and Milk Thistle were recommended and we have been using both by Vita Pet Life. My dog likes the taste and eats them as a treat. Vet said I should take my cat to have an echocardiogram to see how the heart is & what was causing the murmur. It’s very sad to share that we lost our dear Cat due to kidney stone / kidney failure just a few days ago.
