Vibrant Life Two Door Dog Training Crate For Sale (2024 Update)

If you are needing to purchase a new dog crate, this is the brand and model I highly recommend. Midwest had several levels of crates but I have found that you cannot go wrong purchasing the Lifestage's model. They are solidly made and last forever. I always purchase the double door crates. They have cheaper models & more expensive ones too. I would not recommend their icrate as they are cheaper but they are also not had solidly made as the Lifestage's. Spend the extra $10-$15 and purchase the Life Stages model. It is well worth the money. I have had great success purchasing there crates at Petco.com. I always receive my items within a couple of days. It is also nice when you have a Petco store nearby where you live. If you have any issues with the merchandise you received, they have always been very accommodating and made sure they did whatever was necessary to correct the problem, return the merchandise at a full refund and/or replaced the item. I have been very happy with Petco and the merchandise I have purchased!!!Shari L

I just received this crate a couple of days ago for my Saint Bernard mix pup. The size is perfect and he has tons of room to grow in it. The doors latch nicely and the crate is very sturdy. We received this very fast! The only downfall I had with this purchase was that when we removed it from the box and set it up, there was a decent sized crack (all the way through) on the tray. I won't be replacing the tray as I've spent enough on this crate. And fortunately for me, my 5 month old pup doesn't have accidents in his crate, but I'm sure if others received this, they would not be happy.tsjackie

I had been looking at the end table style crates thinking that would look nicer and less bulky then the 4' x 4' X-pen I have in my living room. But, comfort is the main criteria and I wanted my Whippets to feel they could stand and dig through a deep pile of bedding, so I went with this crate. I like to rearrange the furniture so I bought the double door style to keep my options open. For my two Whippets I bought the 42" x 28" size which has been more then enough room for them to lay side by side or end to end. It arrives flat, but you just fold out the sides and it is ready to go. It came with a handle so it could be 'portable', but at this size it is heavy and I don't plan to take it anywhere, so I didn't attach that. I left the X-Pen up for them while they made the transition, but they hopped into the new crate the minute I put it up and haven't been back in the X-Pen (even though it still has more bedding in it). The black wire instantly looked better then the metal of the X-Pen and I'm staining a piece of wood I put trim molding around for the top (I had it cut to size at Home Depot) so I'll have an end table style look, but the height and comfort the pups want for their 'cave.' Very happy and buying a second one to have at the office for the days they come to work with me. Both crates and the wood top are costing less then the end table style crate, so all three of us are happy!psh1

The medium size I got was a lot bigger than I thought which is a wonderful surprise. I’ve split it into 2 and the double doors make it possible. I am currently training my little pup to use the other side as a bathroom as he weathers his first Chicago winter. Love it! And the great thing is the large window on the side is able to be tucked in the top to keep one side always open. The other smaller door doesn’t tuck on the top but that doesn’t bother me because that door is against the wall and not an issue at all. Quality seems great. Have had it for a few weeks and I love it. And so does my lil 10lb pup in his medium crate (but it’s large for him!). He goes in and out a lot more than his old one and I attribute part of it to the double doors! Works like a 2-room apartment for himJennBearDem

I love Petco. So sorry I can’t give this kennel a 5 star rating. Love the style. Purchased “large” size for 40 pound female lab/hound mix, 17 months young; fit perfectly (even 75 pound male “cousin” slept curled up a couple of times, for novelty). She’s not perfectly kennel/crate trained. Visiting our daughter & didn’t want dog to run around unsupervised. 1st time used kennel successfully for a few hours. 2nd time unfortunately used a lot longer. She was observed on camera chewing/pulling on rear end and pushing way out of bottom (latched) small front door. She got minor abrasions on cheek and paw; was a TIGHT SQUEEZE out. MOST UNFORTUNATE! Ughhhh; other purchasers had reported wire weaknesses, but I truly wanted to believe that my dog wouldn’t be strong enough. I will talk to customer service now. We know now what’s possible… Recommend with reservation; depends on dog, really.Tuggisfun

We have a growing 7 month-old newfypoo so needed to upgrade our crate to a larger size. I chose this crate for 2 specific reasons: #1, the height and #2, the top-folding door on the side of the crate. My newfypoo needed the additional height so he isn't hunched over if he's sitting up. The height on this size has given him an inch or two of extra clearance and should still work when he's done growing. For the 2nd point, I LOVE the top-folding side door. Because of where we keep the crate, we only use the side door and it has been awesome not having to walk around a door that opens to the side and is in the way of the main flow of traffic. Even though the crate is noticeably bigger than our old one, it feels like it takes up the same amount of space because of that door. I can't speak highly enough of it. For more practical items, the crate is very sturdy and well made. There were no problems with shipping and other than needing a little muscle, the crate went together very easily. My newfypoo isn't one that will try to escape from a crate, so I can't speak to that, but I have been very impressed with the quality of this crate and how easy it was to get my big-little puppy used to it. DO NOT BUY!!! Our puppy was sleeping in her kennel when she woke up whining in pain. Come to find out one of the wires were loose and she got it stabbed through her paw pad. I’m beyond mad at this point. Highly don’t recommend. If you already own it make sure to check all wires are properly welded to the kennel. You can barely see some blood on her fur and she won’t let me look at it more. Thankfully we just happen to have a vet appointment today. I hope this doesn’t prevent my dog from her training and be scared to go in. Do better vibrant pets.Oakleigh

There are so many issues with these crates I don’t even know where to begin. We didn’t just get one and have it malfunction, every single crate is horrible. We have 6 currently and they are all destroyed in one way or another. First off is the metal, it breaks so easily!! My dog broke off a metal bar up top, my sisters dog has ripped off multiple bars, one bar broke and pierced right through her paw pad, she ripped off another bar on the door and ripped one off the bottom. And the bottom part of the crate is horrible!! It looks sturdy but in reality it’s this incredibly flimsy plastic material that is easily ripped apart so now our dogs don’t have bottoms for their crates🤦🏻‍♀️ Our dogs are also no older than a year, 4 of them still being puppies with the youngest being 6 months and they managed too easily destroy these crates. Another issue we have is they do not stay up! They are collapsible crates and two of our puppies have learned how too collapse the back of the crate and escape so we’ve now had too tie them off. Overall these crates are horrible, highly dangerous and a complete waste of money.Justine Farnan

This cage came bent up like something heavy was sitting on it. Also the bottom lock on the cage looks stretched out. For $78 this cage seems extremely flimsy. I wish I would’ve went with a plastic crate instead. This was definitely not worth $78 . However customer service said the store will contact me tomorrow to deliver a non damaged cage and pick up this one. When someone is customer service gives their word, from my experience with walmart they do not follow through. Then when you call back the next person has no idea what you’re talking about and apologizes that you have misinformation. I hope they come tomorrow like I was advised. However I would return this cage for a crate instead. The quality sucks. I should’ve went to unleashed or petco or ordered from Amazon. Purchased this under the Doskocil name for a 1 year old Husky rescue. He had no problem bending the bars and/or braking the "welds". Properly done welds cannot be broken, so I assume that they are only brazed / tacked together. DO NOT purchase this product if you have a breed (ie Husky / Malamute) that are prone to attempt escape. I have already had to repair and replace several household items. Build your own or spend the money and purchase a quality product elsewhere.RKT65

This is a great small kennel. I put a pillow on the bottom, and my 2 small chihuahuas fit comfortably. It breaks down super easy, and is about 3 inches thick when traveling. I don't remember how much I paid, but if mine broke today I would buy another. I think this is one of my better investments. My favorite feature is that there are two doors. There is a door on the side and a door on the front for easy access.jenn.w

We use this crate to keep our puppy from wandering around the house at night, since we are still potty training her. It is very convenient and clean. The two doors make it much easier to access the puppy regardless of where she is in the crate.WILLIAM

The crate had obviously been used and returned. The metal was rusted in places and the plastic bottom tray was dirty. When I decided to return it, It was a challenge to get it back in the box. When I took it back to the store, I asked about a discount and received 15% off (the tax). I had previously bought one that was marked down by 50% because the box was damaged. I was quite disappointed in the whole experience. Apparently the merchandise was supposed to be checked if the box was damaged and that wasn’t done in this case.Janice

I use them when I travel with my dogs too. My dogs only use their crates for sleeping in at night or napping in during the day. During the day, their crate doors are left open. I close the dogs in at night. I don't have an issue with my dogs trying to escape from their crates, so I can't speak to whether or not this would be sturdy enough for a dog that's determined to get out of their crate. These crates are more than sturdy enough for my miniature Schnauzer, Havanese, and Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. All three of my dogs love their MidWest iCrates, as did my previous dog! They go in them voluntarily and when told to "crate up". My only concern with the current crate I ordered is that that one of the latches isn't lined up quite right so it's a bit tight when closing the crate door. I bent it slightly and it works much better. I haven't had that issue with any of the previous MidWest crates I've used. I'm a MidWest crate fan.Eddie09

He was a Parvo pup and barely survived, so rest and his own quiet space was highly recommended for recovery. We first used the divider which was great. However, as he grew, so did his strength. It definitely is not strong enough for large dogs. Even for short amounts of time. At the moment he is 6 months and 60 pounds. Thankfully he did not get out nor hurt himself! I had purchased this crate and I had found the design exactly what I was looking for. So I have bought 2 more and I plan to purchase 2 more soon. I would not choose another brand or style by the same manufacturer because it performs just as I need. My only suggestions are that the crate has a 4 door option and that the tray can be optionally removed from the side. My only complaint is that the instructions to set up the crate were not clear. Once you've done it though no problems. Ready to go in moments of the box!rabowasco

We bought a larger crate 6 months ago that housed 3 small dogs and 2 cats for 3 days while we drove across country. For several months the 3 dogs shared it at night (the cats found another place to sleep). Recently, we decided to separate the 2 older dogs from the younger and bought 2 of the medium sized crates. The "travel crate" was folded and put away in the laundry room for the next time we travel with all our babies, and we stacked the 2 medium crates. Even stacked, these crates have good strength and a solid build. I can't say enough about how exceptional these crates are and the divider is great when needing to separate pets in a pinch.mslubner

I almost did not purchase this crate due to the multiple bad reviews. Glqd I purchased it qnyway. Other than the people who recieved damaged or warped crates, I'm not sure why there are so many reviews claiming it is difficult to assemble. I'm 4'11", 90 lbs, had 3 kids under 5 in the same room, and I assembled it alone without any real difficulties. The aforementioned children are in one of the review photos to show the enormity of the crate. The 9 month old Great Dane is in the other photo. Luckily for me, besides a slightly warped top piece, none of my pieces were bent, warped, or broken. Took about 30-40 minutes to assemble. Certainly would have been faster if I'd had someone helping, like the manual recommends.Brooke

This is a great size for the back of an SUV, which is how I use them. I can easily get 4 in the back of my Armada. The only downside is the sides don't always match up perfectly, making it a little difficult to latch the doors without pulling up or pushing down on the front piece. This may get better as the crate ages and settles, but at this point it appears to be more cheaply made than my other wire crates where the pieces slide easily and without effort. I ordered four crates and this is an issue with all of them, but just the front doors – the side doors slide easily.Dog Sports Nut

The plastic tray had a chip in it upon arrival. No matter because my dog ripped the tray to pieces anyway. He also was able to pull the wire under the door in about 2 inches and push the door out, enough to get most of his snout through, in only an hour. This crate is poorly made, very flimsy. I bought a larger cage purposely for him to grow into it. They have a divider which makes the crate smaller if needed. This is definitely worth the price! The ones at the pet store were soooo expensive compared to this one. I felt like the locks on this crate we more secure than the other ones I've seen and not only that it was extremely fast shipping I got mine about 3 days later. This crate is amazing . It is sturdy and durable , not to mention so easy to set up. I timed myself: 51 seconds to fold it up and latch it. This seems like a very nice product overall. However, it has a 9-20 pound suggested weight limit which is published nowhere on the site, so I bought it assuming it would hold at least 25 pounds safely because of its generous proportions. I specifically ordered it because it was an inch taller and longer than most other similar kennels and I wanted to make sure both my cats would fit comfortably in case we have to evacuate again due to the seemingly-annual California wildfires. The weak point of the crate is the handle, which is fairly delicate. It is plastic and only attaches to the metal wire top-load door in 2 thin places. This crate will work in a pinch for double-emergency-cat-moving, but I don't think I could carry it by the handle very many times at full 20 lb capacity before the hand broke off. (Not that the handle is by any means the most important part, as it could easily be replaced by a creative person if it does every break off. However, it's the only part I was unimpressed with, so I thought I would call it out specifically.)The thumb screws are very well done, so top-bottom seam is nice and strong. I will carry it from the sides if we need to evacuate again, but for one cat or very small dog would be fine as a regular vet crate.shellioop

This is the best carrier I have seen. I had ordered it…and then found the rescue I was using transported my kitty in the exact same one. It was super easy to put it together. Less than 2 minutes. My cat is 10 lbs so I went with the 24" as he is still 7 mos old. Plenty of wiggle room. Very sturdy solid crate. In the instructions it says to put the provided screws top down and the black lug nuts provided underneath but the photo of carrier shows different. I agree with photo and put the lug nut on top so they are readily available to ck occasionally if they need tightening. See photo attached. The rescue also had theirs on top like the photo on the carrier. Did not even need instructions it was that simple. Having the two doors is fabulous and will make kitty getting in and out a whole lot easier. I could not be happier with this fabulous purchase. And they even provided extra screws and lug nuts in case you ever need one.Toni

My husband put two of these kennels together quickly and easily. The 24 inch size was roomy enough for our 13lb female cat to turn around and lay down with her behind to the door. Even though she didnot seem to like the idea of having to be in the kennel, my husband was able to put her in from the top without a cat fight. First thing first, back hole was not properly hole punched which made it difficult to install wing screws so I just reverse screwed in the wings. I wish it was taller for my dog to sit up in as the other size is much too large for my pup, the car, house, and carrying as a short person. Plus twice the price. Fortunately, it's fine since I'm only using only for car rides which my pup can lay down comfortable in at least. I have not really crate or carrier train my dog, his last experience with a carrier as a pup long ago was pretty bad, but he goes in without hesitation after leaving it open. Guessing it rembles a cave for him. Though this was not my intention, he currently uses it as his bedroom and safe spot, even though he have a much bigger and solitude bed spot. This is a nice kennel and seems very sturdy. Pros: carrier handle is comfy on my hand, unlike my old metal handle; the top and bottom are connected with metal bolts and seem much stronger than the plastic connectors on my old carrier; love the top door access and my pups seem to like their new "convertibles". Cons: the sides are more sloped than the old carrier making it seem more cramped and the door is very rounded. My pups always have access to their carriers and the rounded door will not stay open on its own, very annoying. I had to remove it. I do worry about having to quickly reattach it in the event of an emergency evacuation – we live in wildfire country – or any other emergency. I wish they would bring back the old design of two door carrier. It was just much more practical.GV Gal

Sturdy-sided and well assembled, which also makes this x-small carrier a bit heavy. That's ok. But it's not balanced– heavy in the front. The worst part, and possibly inherent to many top-loading carriers, is the single carry handle is built in the top lid and only secured by two flimsy wire latches bored in the plastic. The entire cage plus animal weight is on these small wires. A 2 point strap might help to insure the lid stays secure. I'll donate and try another one.Chas

Terribly aligned crate. The latches are all crooked with a big space where they meet. You have to jiggle the latch to get it i to the hole because it isnt aligned to the hole correctly. The door is crooked so it is hard to open. Overall i do not recommend it and I will be returning it todayTeresa

This kennel is perfect for puppies, easy to set up, and durable. This 24” model is just the right size for a small pet. Anything from French bulldogs to Chihuahuas can find solace in this dog home. A kennel should be the last thing you are worried about if you are raising a puppy, so I recommend this one to ease that stress. It is perfect for puppies! This product comes with a divider making the training process much smoother. As most dog owners will come to find the crate must fit the size of your puppy so there isn’t space for a “toilet corner”. Instead of having to upgrade crates as your puppy grows this kennel allows you to move the divider back until your puppy is full grown. The money you will save buying this product rather than upgrading kennels is sure to add up. This crate is easy to set up. It comes in a large box and is already put together. The set up is as easy as expanding the kennel from its’ folded position and attaching the door. You can then insert the divider to make the kennel the appropriate size for your furry friend. The total set up time was less than five minutes. It is very durable. This product can withstand the training process full of usual headaches. An accident or two may happen but this kennel is easy to clean out. It will also hold its’ ground against any biting or scratching your dog might enforce on it. The one downfall of this product is that it doesn’t come with a mat. It only has a hard bottom that would be quite uncomfortable for a dog to sleep on. However, Wal Mart also sells a mat that fits perfectly in this crate. I give this kennel five stars and would recommend it to any small dog owner.Ty

Our little Yorkie loves her kennel and we couldn't be more happy with this purchase. We needed something that we could help her potty train in and also something to sleep in/rest in, when it's night or we are gone. She has had zero issues with it. I love that she doesn't feel like she is trapped in a kennel with no windows (hard kennel). We put a blanket on it, when it's night time and she sleeps great. I was surprised (in a good way) how light it is, yet durable. We have used this to transport her, to my parents house. It's light! But, it's great quality. You can't beat the price. I absolutely love that we can adjust the kennel to her needs. There is a nice pad, on the bottom, but we still put her blanket in with her, for added security. This is a great kennel. I bought this 42” crate for an English Cream Golden Retriever puppy that we brought home at 8 weeks old. First night in our home, she went right in the crate and laid down. So for young puppies or small dogs, use the divider until the puppy is crate trained and/or needs more space. Ours is now almost 6 months old and still has never had an accident in her crate. I only used the divider for about two months because my puppy got big, very quickly. This crate is so easy to set up, collapse and take with you on a trip. It’s kind of heavy as all crates are but very manageable and so worth it. You can’t beat this price either! It is well made, affordable, has two doors to choose from depending on how you have it set up. I purchased a crate cover which creates a den like special place for my dog when we leave the house now while we sleep overnight. I also purchased basic crate beds, which are machine washable, light weight and durable. I would buy again and highly recommend this crate for crate training.AC

This dog crate is great! It’s sturdy but not too heavy. That’s important for me because of taking my Sassy girl around with me for traveling and vet appointments. If I put the empty cage in our truck, she’ll jump right in there. There is plenty of room for her to move around and get comfortable. It’s nice that it has the divider. She’s already house trained but it would have been handy for that purpose. My daughter has a mid sized Rottweiler that we can use the divider for too. They get along really well but it’ll give them their own areas if needed. I like the latch system. It makes it really hard to not latch it correctly which means less escaping. Then to open it you just have to lift and slide. I love the.two door feature. It gives you twice the options if you have to put it against a wall or walls.Onebusymama

This dog crate was a complete lifesaver at the holidays! My sister brought her two large dogs to my mom's for Christmas and they are about 50 pounds each and both fit comfortably in this at different times to calm them down. It literally sets up from the box to a working crate within minutes. It is sturdy and comes with a divider inside if you need to keep two animals separate or comes right out if you don't need it. It is super roomy inside and we added the orthopedic cushion in the bottom of the crate for maximum comfort for the dogs. This has been the easiest kennel I've ever set up right out of the box. I was so excited about the fantastic sales price on the crates! Ordered an i Crate in the large size, before I did the research. After research I realized I ordered the lowest-grade crate, not what I wanted. Tried to cancel the order to reorder the higher-grade Ultima Pro. After two calls, they did send a cancel through to see if it would work. (It didn't.) I didnt want to risk waiting and missing the sale so I ordered the Ultima Pro, had to be medium, because large was out of stock. Just opened it and, like others, got one that can't even be put together because it's so out of square. It can't even be bent into place it's so bad. This is one reason I HATE buying online. We bought this crate 4 weeks ago on the way to pick up our new rescue puppy. After 4 weeks of use it’s still like new despite those little piranha teeth! I questioned my husband about getting this size but his answer was “he’s only 5 lbs!” Well he’s found out he didn’t stay 5 lbs! When he’s sitting his head is just inches from the top so we’ll be buying another just like it in a bigger size!Mimi

We purchased this kennel in 2017 for our cockapoo shitzu. This kennel is perfect size. My mom has a 2 month shitzu baby boy so recommended for her to get currently using mine.Julia R.

This is perfect for a dog that is pug sized or smaller or slightly bigger. The picture isn't quite right. It is a soft baby pale pink and so is the pan. The blue one is a pale light blue color too. I like the pan because it is a smooth plastic and not a rough textured one which is harder to clean if something were to be ground into it. Solid thick gauge wiring too. A++++++CP

My husband and I got a puppy from the pound. She was only 2 months old when we brought her home. Using this crate for the first year help us keep our home intact! she would only be put in the crate when we were gone, that way we knew she was safe and not getting into trouble chewing furniture or peeing in the house. those two door design is fantastic! So easy to get them in and out. She loved her crate like a second home. We added blankets and toys, food and water and there was plenty of room for our little Savannah….even now when she weighs about 60 pounds she still fits comfortably.jay.m

I have two of this size (one door model). I have had these things for ohhh, 10 years…I raised three rotty's in them and kept various rescues of all animal kinds in them until I could get them off to rescue people over the years. They did duty in the barn area for poultry for most of the last 6 years and got messed on all over the place, were damp in the winter and were used like tables with a board on top. Ended up with another rescue that might stay…looked at em all poultry encrusted and dusty and cobwebby and shook my head thinking they're done. They have been through the wringer the last 6 years. I realized I really don't have the money to buy new so decided to try to clean them up as a futile attempt to not have to buy more. I had to at least try. 2 hours ,a bucket of warm soapy water, a scrubby , washcloth and a hose later…OMG. They cleaned up GREAT. The handles of the latches were slightly slightly rusty here or there where the black coating flaked off (about the only place it has flaked off and then only small spots), the metal tubes that connects the panels together a little dull, pitted and slightly rusty here or there and that is IT! They still work just fine and they look award winning good considering where they have been. If not for the latches and the connector pieces they could pass as gently used items despite what they have been through. So essentially, if you want a solid, quality crate that is priced reasonably and WORTH every darn penny….go with precision crates. One precision crate could very likely last you all of your adult life if you stayed with the same size dog. As it is now we have the two x lrgs, 1 mediumish, and 2 for 30 lbs or less dogs. And because I am so impressed with what I have,….I'm going to be buying this X-lrg 2 door version to fit in a spot where a single door crate won't work in my house. Remember- Don't throw away an extra crate that is in working order, donate it to someone who can't afford a crate or find a rescue group that needs it (crates are good for lots of different animals).Windchyme

Finally, after buying several different brands that boasted 5-stars ratings and returning each one because of its sharp, unfinished wire ends/edges, this one arrived! No sharp edges! More expensive than others, but if it saves me from a vet/pet hospital visit because a wire stabbed my pet, it is well worth the money! Feels heavy and sturdy; but still portable.Arno
