The crate had obviously been used and returned. The metal was rusted in places and the plastic bottom tray was dirty. When I decided to return it, It was a challenge to get it back in the box. When I took it back to the store, I asked about a discount and received 15% off (the tax). I had previously bought one that was marked down by 50% because the box was damaged. I was quite disappointed in the whole experience. Apparently the merchandise was supposed to be checked if the box was damaged and that wasn’t done in this case.Janice

I've owned dogs for the last 40 years. I've used MidWest wire crates for my last 4 dogs. This iCrate didn't disappoint. It's sturdy and and easy to put up and take down. I use them when I travel with my dogs too. My dogs only use their crates for sleeping in at night or napping in during the day. During the day, their crate doors are left open. I close the dogs in at night. I don't have an issue with my dogs trying to escape from their crates, so I can't speak to whether or not this would be sturdy enough for a dog that's determined to get out of their crate. These crates are more than sturdy enough for my miniature Schnauzer, Havanese, and Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. All three of my dogs love their MidWest iCrates, as did my previous dog! They go in them voluntarily and when told to "crate up". My only concern with the current crate I ordered is that that one of the latches isn't lined up quite right so it's a bit tight when closing the crate door. I bent it slightly and it works much better. I haven't had that issue with any of the previous MidWest crates I've used. I'm a MidWest crate fan.Eddie09

We bought this in April 2022 for our Rhodesian Ridgeback mix puppy. He was weeks old when we rescued him. He was a Parvo pup and barely survived, so rest and his own quiet space was highly recommended for recovery. We first used the divider which was great. However, as he grew, so did his strength. It definitely is not strong enough for large dogs. Even for short amounts of time. At the moment he is 6 months and 60 pounds. Thankfully he did not get out nor hurt himself! I have a large border collie x Australian shepherd mix and he weighs 70lbs – this dog kennel is the perfect size. This is actually the second one that I own now and I’m so glad to have a second one. My first one has held up fantastic for 3 1/2 years now and doesn’t show much wear at all. Overall a great kennel and easy to assemble. This vibrant life large pet crate is very well-made, sturdy enough for a large dog. There are plenty of air ventilation holes, and meat airline requirements. It is easy to wipe clean, or hose out if necessary. It can also be used to kennel pets indoors. This is a very sturdy dog kennel and very well constructed. Assembly only takes a few minutes, very easy to do. This is ideal for dogs weighing 50 to 70 poinds. My dog has never been one to want to be in a cage, however, after putting this one together he wasn't to sure he wanted to be in it. We put it where he normally lays which is by the back door. He went in it and laid down, however, as soon as we came in the room he got out of it. This cage is big enough for him to get in, turn around, and have extra room on all sides. He stays right out side of it untill I go to bed, then he gets up and gets in it and sleeps in it. He's still nervous about it and won't let us take a picture or get close when he is in it. This is the first cage I have ever seen him even lay next to. I have bought others that seem the same as this one, but he would never get in them. I think it will take time, but he is relaxing around it more ane more. He's the only dog I have that would never go in a kennel. This one gives me hope that one day we will be able to cage him when we have to take him somewhere, which is always safer. The product is sturdy but the screen door is not strong enough to stop a dog from scratching a hole in it. The zippers are weaker and not large enough. The frame is strong and easy to put together. I would add a divider to support a puppy through his stages of life and maybe a flap that covers the the bottom half of the door screen as an option if your pup is a scratcher. Great for portability and quick and easy to setup. All in all I like the product but would like to see a few upgrades.John

We looked thru many foldable traveling dog crates. So far, very happy with it. Several things I specifically looked for. Good quality zipper that clipped at the top when zipped. Mesh sides above clawing access (besides the front access). Ease of setting up & light weight. PetNation had it all. We have two 10# Havanese. Plenty of room to add blankets. Water & food bowls. Yes. I am basing this review on inspection of the Crate, I have not actually used it yet. I bought it for a future trip. The crate appears to be well made. It was easy to set up and to take back down. This will be great for a crate trained dog. I would definitely not purchase or use this for a dog that is not crate trained. They would definitely be able to escape and ruin this with ease. I have an 81lb dog that is able to lay down in this crate comfortably.Melanie

If you are needing to purchase a new dog crate, this is the brand and model I highly recommend. Midwest had several levels of crates but I have found that you cannot go wrong purchasing the Lifestage's model. They are solidly made and last forever. I always purchase the double door crates. They have cheaper models & more expensive ones too. I would not recommend their icrate as they are cheaper but they are also not had solidly made as the Lifestage's. Spend the extra $10-$15 and purchase the Life Stages model. It is well worth the money. I have had great success purchasing there crates at Petco.com. I always receive my items within a couple of days. It is also nice when you have a Petco store nearby where you live. If you have any issues with the merchandise you received, they have always been very accommodating and made sure they did whatever was necessary to correct the problem, return the merchandise at a full refund and/or replaced the item. I have been very happy with Petco and the merchandise I have purchased!!!Shari L

I just received this crate a couple of days ago for my Saint Bernard mix pup. The size is perfect and he has tons of room to grow in it. The doors latch nicely and the crate is very sturdy. We received this very fast! The only downfall I had with this purchase was that when we removed it from the box and set it up, there was a decent sized crack (all the way through) on the tray. I won't be replacing the tray as I've spent enough on this crate. And fortunately for me, my 5 month old pup doesn't have accidents in his crate, but I'm sure if others received this, they would not be happy.tsjackie

I had been looking at the end table style crates thinking that would look nicer and less bulky then the 4' x 4' X-pen I have in my living room. But, comfort is the main criteria and I wanted my Whippets to feel they could stand and dig through a deep pile of bedding, so I went with this crate. I like to rearrange the furniture so I bought the double door style to keep my options open. For my two Whippets I bought the 42" x 28" size which has been more then enough room for them to lay side by side or end to end. It arrives flat, but you just fold out the sides and it is ready to go. It came with a handle so it could be 'portable', but at this size it is heavy and I don't plan to take it anywhere, so I didn't attach that. I left the X-Pen up for them while they made the transition, but they hopped into the new crate the minute I put it up and haven't been back in the X-Pen (even though it still has more bedding in it). The black wire instantly looked better then the metal of the X-Pen and I'm staining a piece of wood I put trim molding around for the top (I had it cut to size at Home Depot) so I'll have an end table style look, but the height and comfort the pups want for their 'cave.' Very happy and buying a second one to have at the office for the days they come to work with me. Both crates and the wood top are costing less then the end table style crate, so all three of us are happy!psh1

I got this for a ~60lbs. labrador retriever and he seems to love it. Big enough on the inside for him to stand, turn around, and lay comfortably. It's sturdy, but not so heavy that it doesn't move around a little bit when he changes positions. It was easy enough to put together. A couple of the plastic screws didn't seem to have the ends filed off all the way (hard to describe but basically instead of a flat end, the plastic stuck out a little extra on one side instead of being flat across), which made them harder to fit straight through the holes in assembly. Fortunately, they send a few extra, so I had enough that were straight enough to put the crate together. Also, just be aware of the plastic bottom – I ran my hand across the bottom to clean it before putting it together and scraped my hand on a piece of plastic that stuck up a little (it was like a little ring manufacturing imprint). I filed it down before letting my dog in so he wouldn't get scraped on it, but just something to be on the look out for.Labbadabbadoo

The sizing recommendation by the manufacturer seems to be off. Dimensions are not the actual dimensions if you were to take a measuring tape and measure yourself. For my 55 lb border collie mix who sits at 27 inches tall and stands at 37 inches long from nose to base of tail a large would not fit. I ordered the XX Large and that is a way better fit where she can actually sit without being hunched over. This was purchased for air travel as well so I want her to be as comfortable as possible. The material seems relatively durable but it did arrive with a large crack so I will be exchanging. Compared to the Petmate Sky Kennel, this kennel seemed a little bit thinner in material and not as study. However, I order a Sky Kennel in a size Large so perhaps a sizing difference might have affected this. Also, currently, the Sky Kennel is available for a better price on Amazon but not in the size I am looking for.Zozobozo

Nicely built, easy to assemble (all holes line up for screws, about 10 with butterfly nuts).You get extra screws and rubber nuts. The cage design for opening and closing is nice and easy to use. Most of all, our dog took to it the first time. We had the S, same company. Uma is getting big now. Of course, we chose the same company and same product, just L in size. When a puppy, accidents do happen. It is easy to clean. Uma is about 20lbs now and can stand up in the kennel. Still plenty of height room. She may become 30-40lbs and this kennel will be all we need. Our use is for nighttime and when we go out. We have the gray which does not stand out. It is a neutral color and looks good in your kitchen, bedroom or where you keep your dog. The kennel also provides a rectangular cage on both sides on the top half so the dog can look out. First a foremost, I was really upset that I had to shell out over a hundred bucks for a dog cage. But since we have a brute escape artist that kept destroying her old kennel and hurting herself during the process. With this kennel, it has stopped all escapes, no signs of giving or stress. She's made it her home even when she doesn't need to be there.it comes with removable caster wheels for easy relocation, or take them off and leave it stationary while cutting a few inches off the overall height,The door is easily removable and attaches back on in a matter of a few seconds. We were worried about the meshed ground and her getting her toes caught in it, but I comes with a removable tray that's meant for the bottom, but we placed it over and that's her floor. The tree is just a tad under 5 foot. Not a problem for our little living room. The LED lights can be very bright–but you can unplug the LED lights! It still has 8 different light mod's even with the LED's unpluged. The longer branches on the bottom will not hold heavy ornaments. Light weight ornaments and garland is fine. It really is pretty even with out ornaments. The fiber optics make it a very colorful tree, even in the day time. The LED's are to brite for our liking. Not a problem for us we just unpluged them! Hey it's a 60 dollar tree. We are happy with it. You will have to fold down all of the branches they are not hinged like some of the higher dollar trees. It filled out nice! Poor Quality, for the price of this crate I expected it to be easily put together. I had to drill new holes because they didn’t line up. The latches interfered with the closing of the door. The door was not centered correctly and required lifting to shut properly. Arrived bend.Avgjoe

What a pleasant experience. This is such a sturdy crate. I have Serama Chickens that are indoor pets and this was just a great buy for a very reasonable price. Although I do not have a dog, there is no doubt in my mind that this cage would be perfect for a small dog.Lori

I purchased two of these "KennelMaster 24" Folding Black Wire 2 Door Dog Crate" and have had them for several months. What a great buy! Super easy to set up: they come preassembled and all folded up. They unfold and set up in a minute. I have one for each of my dogs: a Maltese/Bichon mix and a Chihuahua mix (who looks just like a small German Shepherd). We use their crates for the night time and when we leave the house. These crates are made of very nice thick metal. Incredibly sturdy. The latches are well made and smart-doggy proof. I like that the bottom is solid and can be easily removed and sanitized. My dogs have scratched and nibbled on the bars daily and the crates have held up like new. There are two doors on each crate: one door on a long side and one door on a short side. There's also a handle on top which makes it really easy to move around when I am relocating it, transporting the dogs, or just moving the crates to vacuum and clean underneath. My crates also came with some additional wire dividers that I don't use. I believe they are for making the crate smaller when you have a puppy and removing it as your dog grows. Crates can be really expensive so I was glad to find these at such a bargain price, especially because they are so well made. I know these crates will last many, many years. I have no negative things to say about these dog crates. I would highly recommend them! Please note: I do not put both dogs in the same crate, though they do both fit. I believe this is the best crate out there. It is flat on the bottom, not hurting your dog, it comes with a bed liner, it has plenty of doors to open for options, and the best is that it folds up and rolls away when you need it. Actually the best part is that it opens like a garage door on one of the bigger sides… leaving a very easy to use and comfortable access for your dog. My pup loved it from the get go… didn't even have to train him to use it, he automatically went into it since it has a huge opening. It is the best alternative. RILoveSunny

I purchased the crate to train my mini Aussie pup and to have as a quiet place to retreat and sleep. She loves it!! It was simple to setup and easy to fold down for travel. Truly a nice furniture kennel. Bought it without reviews, so took a chance. One of the containers was destroyed in shipment, but it’s packed with styrofoam all around so no damage! The locking mechanism seems sturdy. The bars seem sturdy. The boards are strong. The instructions are pictures, but easy to follow along with. My dogs are well behaved in kennel, so not sure how it will stand up with one who’s not. Overall, I’d recommend it!MML

I received Vibrant Life 36in 8-panel Wire Exercise Pen. I got this for my new puppy so he has something to go in while he is outside. When I receive it I was taken back on the size of the box. I wasn’t sure that it was gonna be what I needed. Then I opened it and it’s amazing! It unfolds very easily and nicely! I love that you can make it the design you need to fit the room and such. Also this is perfect because it does hook onto his dog kennel. Which gives him a little more freedom. This eases my mind greatly when I have to leave my puppy home alone. Also this is perfect for bring on the go with me. It folds down and then has a clip to clip the whole thing together and carry easily! Comes with 4 hooks to hook the sides together or attach it to your kennel. Easy and amazing. I love that it comes out of the box and goes right back in and fits back in the box! Great product! Defiantly worth it if you have a animal. My older dog even fits in it with room to spare. The only thing I do want to say is the door is a little flimsy to me like it pulls down when you open it. It is a lift and lock door and then has a slide lock to secure which is nice. That kind of gives it a extra sense of security. I love this exercise pen so much. It is perfect for our new puppy. She has plenty of room to run around and take a much needed nap. This exercise pen was so easy to put up and take down. We have a 4 panel pen for puppy to sleep at night in but this vibrant life exercise pen is so much roomier. You really need this pen for Doggie and even a couple doggies it's plenty big enough for. There are 5 different ways you can make this work for you and it's so easy to change pen from around setting to a square set up. They give you a pamphlet that shows you different ways you can set this exercise pen up. It's so easy. it is so convenient when you have to take kids to school to pop puppy in pen with their bed and a piddle pad they can play or take a nap while you're busy running errands and you know when you get home puppy will be safe and secure in their pen. you really need this exercise pen if you are committed to taking care of a puppy you won't be sorry. This is a smartly designed enclosure with endless possibilities. I use the pen every day to either keep my dogs on my deck, or off my deck and in the yard, or contain them to one section of the deck. I also have used it in my chicken run to keep certain birds away from others. I love that it has an option of attaching panels directly to a dog crate. It is strong, yet lightweight and easy to maneuver. This gate is the perfect height to keep my dogs from jumping over. It would not be ideal for certain undisciplined or high jumping dogs.JennyWren

This is a very large kennel. It's perfect for a German Shepherd, Husky, Lab size dog etc. Very easy to assemble. The door works flawlessly. I got this because I have 2 senior dogs a Retriever and a Collie mix and needed something to secure them in the back of my suv when taking them to the vet or groomer. I found that it is much safer to transport them this way than to let them be on the back seat unsecured. I finally have the right size kennel to do so. This is a perfect kennel for dogs like labs/retrievers. There's enough room for most dogs that size to stand up. I do wish these kinds of kennels had a few extra slots on the bottom so it wasn't quite so dark. It's very easy to put together. Wow this is exactly what I needed for my favorite fur baby on the planet. It was so easy to put together by myself without any issues. It’s thick sturdy plastic that will last years even decades. My doggy loves to get in and lay down even when we’re not traveling. I leave it set up for him always, it’s like his clubhouse and he truly enjoys it even when traveling I put in my back set and he just lays in it , honestly it’s the best spot in the car to ride now. Super cool crate for transportation of your fur children. Pops right up and nice and sturdy. I use this for my three cats, and they love it, fit perfectly in the large size with their little water and food container. They don't throw a fit or go crazy because it is cozy and roomy. So easy to store, easy to pop up, easy to lift as it is lightweight but sturdy. I used it for VET trips recently, so very handy. And plan on using this on a 2000-mile trip coming up.Maxamalist

flying my 2 kitties cargo was an ordeal that i absolutely DO NOT EVER want to go through again.(im sure it wasnt even that bad for them, but it was terrible for me!) ultimately though, it had to be done. ive never shipped/flown a pet before so this all began with a search for a crate. petmate skykennel was the obvious choice. even though they're cats, my boys are big fellas. i went with the medium size so they'd have extra room. the crates were exactly what i needed. only thing i will say is, i did order an extra set of all-metal bolts/fasteners (from amazon); the ones that come with the crates are ok, but the overruling word on pet cargo travel seems to be all-metal is required. maybe its just required for international flights? either way i ordered a set. glad i bought ONLY that from amazon, though!i was about to buy the crates from there too, then i thought hmmm maybe someplace else had them at a better price…and yep… "someplace else" sure did! I did a lot of research before we decided to by the extra large Petmate dog crate. We currently have the "Giant" dog crate in a bedroom for our mixed malamute–but we have to disassemble it to take it out of the room. We need the dog crate for when we take our dog camping. The last time we took him camping, on the last day, we left him in our cabin for a few hours. When we came back, he had tore the curtain and blinds apart on two different windows. We spent hours trying to get new blinds and I had to sew the curtains. So, this crate in mandatory if our dog is going camping again! We currently have a fifth wheel trailer that we camp in. Also, the metal dog crates–our dog can get right out of them using his body!Diane

I like the crate but the condition was very poor. (I'll explain below.) The features I like the best are the two doors and that it is big enough for my cat to stand up in it and move around. It’s big enough to make a comfortable bed and add a water bowl. But if an adult cat wants to stretch out completely, including his tail, he won’t be able to, unless his tail is outside the cage. Someone had asked for the dimensions in the collapsed state. In the shipping box, it measures 25”H x 19”W x 4”D and weighs 14 lbs. It has to be collapsed to get it through the doorway of my medium sized 4-door car. But after it's through, and assembled, it leaves about a foot of seat left. Not only does that disqualify it for my original purpose, but it is too cumbersome to carry my cat(s) in it to the veterinarian’s exam room. There is no handle on top of the cage. I often wondered what the handle shaped wire was doing on the bottom of cages. It turns out its not a handle, but a lever, to keep the tray from sliding out of the crate. The assembly was super easy after I realized that there was a black metal divider holding down the short walls of the crate. I forgot that it had one and the instructions gave no indication that one was included. You have to stand the cage upright, and hold it there, while you remove the divider, and then pull up and lock the short walls into place. And speaking of the divider, I don’t think it is safe to use, unless you attach a permanent rubber sleeve, for each of the eight sharp hooks. The hooks protrude in one of the compartments, and this puts the animal in danger, during a rough ride in a vehicle or wagon. If the animal lands on the hooks during a sudden stop, or the cage falls over with the animal inside, the animal(s) would be bruised or punctured in the skin or eyes. Another option would be to take some pliers and close the ends inward towards itself. But in order to bend them, you’d have to decide whether you want it in there permanently. Once it is in there, you can’t use the side door anymore. If you used a rubber sleeve, then it would not only protect your pet, but those sharp hooks wouldn’t scrape the paint off of the crate, while you’re attaching it. In my opinion it’s better to let one adult cat or similar size animal have the whole crate to themselves. Keeping an animal that size in half the space for longer than 15 minutes would be callous indeed. For quality, I was disappointed in the condition of the crate when it arrived. I noticed that the wire frame was bent between the tray and the door, and there were multiple places on the cage, where the paint had been scraped off, while some spots were unprofessionally, painted over. When I called up the Carlson Pet Products, to get two questions answered, I told them the condition the product was in before I used it. A couple days later, a replacement came, but the whole of one side, was corroded. The box itself didn’t have water damage. And even though I was shocked that a customer would receive a product in this condition, I suspect that the company was unaware of the damage to their inventory.Laurie

This is not just a crate to put your pet into, this is a really nice black coated wire crate. It is 48 inches by 33 inches by 30 inches, and has a back plastic tray in the bottom for easy cleaning. The tray is not a thin plastic but gives good support when the pet is in the crate. When you receive it you will find it folded onto itself. After pulling the top section to the side you pull the unit up and you have the bottom with a tray and the back and front and the roof section all together. Now you pull up the end sections and you are done. Now for the best part, you have two very large doors, one on the end and one on the side and they are big enough to get in and clean up the cage, to change bedding and all that we do for our beloved pets. You will be so pleased with the double lock deadbolt style on each door. Most crates are probably used for dogs, but mine will be used for my cat. I needed an area big enough for my cat, his litter box, and food and water. My cat needs a safe place when I have work done in my house as he is scared of strangers and this will provide him his safe place when needed. I set it up in my living room for him to get familiar with it and it did not take long. I save the cardboard that the crate was shipped in to set it upon, until I can get a rug the correct size, this crate at a guess is between 35-45 pounds and is not that heavy but is big to move from place to place. I would recommend you set it up where it is going to be used. This crate is going to provide many years of safety for my cat at present and will be with for any future pets that come into my life. I appreciate the product as a well put together and can tell it is not a one time use, but is meant to be used through many pets. This huge crate for large dogs provides the dog plenty of quality-size, comfort space. Every dog should be able to lie down and stretch fully out to really be comfortable. It is very hard to find and get an extra large (XL) pet “carrier” shipped because shipping the plastic or resin carriers cost as much as the carrier due to shipping companies’ rules. So, XL are not made very much because of shipping costs. Therefore, the steel crate with bars and pan is the best solution for the extra large dog. Newspaper can be laid on the pan to keep fallen hair, and if the dog digs the paper a little, it can be changed. Hair can be vacuumed right off the paper using the weakest suction tool on a vacuum. Hair does not have to go all over. For the large pet who is very active inside the crate, activity could be controlled by hanging newspaper over two or three sides and the top. The dog will believe it is a solid wall and enjoy extra privacy. Also, possibly keep the very active dog in a carrier first to learn his/her boundaries and feel comfortable, then, the dog can get accustomed to the more open crate. The openness of the metal crate gives the dog more association with its people which helps pets get better socialized. It is less the private den than is the pet carrier, and the metal crate seems just like being out with the people comfortably all the time and makes less babysitting necessary for the people. Two doors are greatly convenient for rooms with different space areas. This crate unfolds well, yet when I lifted up the rear panel, it was held in place completely by only two bent metal tabs on the left and right top to keep it from falling back in, and the same for the front panel. On the sides, except for one metal tab of the twelve, all were open and work to keep the end panels from falling outwards, but not from falling in. Big dogs are strong and can bump things a little and those things can move a lot. Because I do not want my beloved dog to ever have the metal panel inadvertently fall in onto him, I must use strong metal hooks to hold the tops of the end panels, additionally in place, so they cannot ever go in on him. Then, I do not have to check the holding tabs every time I put him inside the crate in case he bumped the crate and popped a tab off. With time, if both end panels were to come off the tabs, the ends will fall in, and then the rest of the collapsible cage would collapse down on a dog. Therefore, with my nice strong hooks added, this is a sturdy, very well built cage, and with my care we both love it for a long, long time. Huge, and very, very happy!Maureen

We bought this cage just to give our little guy a slightly bigger bed, now that he is full grown. This is actually just a bed with a door, because he loves being in it, and goes in on his own, just to nap, with the door open. We have the black crate cover also, which I highly recommend buying. As far as durability goes, or security for that matter, I've seen better. If you have a large or rambunctious dog, I would think twice. Also consider the fact that there is only one door latch on each door. But that's what you get for the price.Sherry

This product has room enough to grow as your puppy grows. The divider provided with the crate is easy to use. The crate is great to set up and is easily folded down to move it take with you. The tray in the bottom is very durable and cleaning is a breeze. This product is everything it says it is and I recommend it to anyone. This is my first time with an extra large breed dog and it has made things easier for me and I am confident when I need to put my pup in it to go to work. I know he will be fine and comfortable.Char

The crate prices on Dog.com totally rock! We decided we needed an extra crate for up at the cabin….since it was "last minute" I ran to my local national chain pet store and they had one brand of folding crates like this one…..their pricing was ridiculous…..the size I needed was 3X what Dog.com was charging, even with shipping. No brainer, we ordered this one & it came standard shipping super fast & over Memorial weekend (like 2-3 days-we were still at the cabin!) and it's exactly like our other crate we bought from this site 4 years ago. Great quality….very sturdy and easy to fold & set back up. Also comes with a divider if you have a puppy or want to have two small dogs share the crate. I liked the fact the cage was larger than the description indicated. I did not like the fact the wire used to make the crate seems very flimsy and will bend or break easily.Mary

At the time of order, I didn't see anywhere in the product description if assembly was required or not. So, I assumed I'd have to spend hours putting the crate together. When I took it out of the box, I was shocked that it came out all together. I was *ecstatic* when I realized it is, in fact, a COLLAPSIBLE crate! The cost was under $90 for an enormous crate (for my friend's Pit Bull who just had surgery) that I didn't even have to assemble! I think they would sell more of these if the word "collapsible" was included in the product title. It was so easy to set up!!! The only con I had is because it would be almost impossible for one person to move the crate around with a large dog inside. It would be nice if it came with wheel attachments (or even as an add-on). The metal does not appear to be all that sturdy, but my 70 lb. 5 mo. old mastiff/lab/weimaraner mix is doing well with this crate. She has room to move around and seems content when she is in there. I think a large, rather unruly dog might be a problem in this, but then, they would be a problem anywhere (they have torn down my fences and gone through 3' x 5' plate glass windows, bleeding, smiling and happy all the while.) I think the key would be that the very large, powerful dog was accustomed to being in a crate before they were put into this one and then they should be fine. Very easy setup, folds right up, too. Would definitely purchase this again.MissV

Wondering if we were sold a used unit. Missing 3 of the 4 rubber feet the one was already attached. Video shows they shoukd be in a bag and how to install. All 4 corner top supports were there 2 were in plastic bag that was ripped open previously and other 2 were in bottom of crate. Looks like part of the paint was worn off on the corners were the supports go. One of the sliding doors squeals as you slide it closed. Couldn't return it as we sold our previous crate already. Tried to call the manufacturer as it states do not call store have not heard back after 5 messages to them.Brad63126

The packaging of this item was very good. There is a plastic tray in the bottom of the cage, but it is well protected in the box. I took out the crate and it was all one piece, except for the divider. I laid it on the floor and unlatched the obvious clips that were holding the crate in a flat position. There are instructions that come with this crate, but it was so easy to figure out how to fasten the sides, I did not need them. I did review the instructions after and they are very easy to follow and understand. The crate wiring is very sturdy. I have a 45 lb Springer Spaniel and he has no chance of bending the wiring. The latches will not shake open. They fold over and my dog would have to be a magician to open them. There are two entry points. On large area on the lengthy side. And a slider set of doors on the wide side. Both sides have the same type of latches. The tray is very sturdy plastic and can be cleaned very easily. The crate comes with a divider. It is made of the same wiring material. Very sturdy. I only have one dog, so I won't be using it. But it is easy to install. The weight of the crate is not too bad. It comes with a handle on top, but the width of the crate is a bit large to be carrying around far. It is mainly used for repositioning. You won't pick up the crate with your pet inside. But it makes it easy for lifting into my van without my dog inside. I cannot think of any really bad things about this crate. It is a very quality item. Very easy to use. Very easy to fold and stow away when not in use. All in one piece. To get my dog used to using it, I put some treats in the crate. He went right in and was checking it out. Springers love to be in a cave, so I put a blanket over the top and he enjoys his privacy 🙂Charlie

I really like my Lucky Dog Sliding Door Dog Crate. I am disabled so I thought I would have to have someone help me assemble it. But the hardest thing about putting it together was getting it out of the box. Once it was out, it literally took me less than a minute and that was without instructions. It was so easy to see what needed to be done: lift one wall, lift the ceiling and the other wall falls into place. One end has a door with three lift and slide type handles. You can use one, two, or all three. And the front has the sliding door which is nice for a larger animal or for putting the bed in, etc. There is a heavy duty plastic bottom so you don’t have to worry about puppy accidents. There are also plastic sleeves to go on four corners on the bottom to keep it from being fully in contact with the floor, so there’s air flow underneath. This would also protect the floor in the case of the crate moving during use. They also included four corner protectors so that you don’t bang into a sharp edge and injure yourself or damage something. Good thinking. And a really nice feature is the wire wall that locks into place if desired, making the crate a haven for 2 animals or a smaller space for a smaller dog- for instance a puppy that would be overwhelmed by such a large crate now but would need every inch of it later. No need to buy 2 crates- just insert the divider wall now and remove it when the dog has grown enough to use the space. And if I don’t need to use the crate or I need to store it, it folds flat just as it came. Brilliant! I’m sold on this crate! Only downfall is my dog is exposed to whatever is going on around him so I would have preferred to have had this to begin with. I have used kennels in the past without the grid flooring and I will not do that again. We bought this due to the fact that our little guy will have times when we have to be away and can't be there to take him out frequently. I could not stand the thought of him sitting in where he had relieved himself and then having to clean him and the cage before we could even play after being away all day. I bought him a little bed to go in one side and the other side is open so he can relieve himself. Being 7 weeks old I was not sure he would figure this out so soon, but Boston's are smart. I work the night shift on weekends and this is a MUST. We bought the bowls that attach to the side so he has water and some hard food and he gets out of his bed, goes and relieves himself and then climbs back in the bed to play and nap. He is clean when we come home and all are happy.Jusalilshy

I have Midwest pens and Precision pens. I apparently did not read all that was included and ordered two pans to go under the 48 x 48 pen. I was surprised when there were two pans in with the initial puppy pen order. I also did not realize when ordering a pan, I got two and not just one. So my order of pans came separately which included two pans each. I did not need the additional 4 pans and got a Return Authorization to return them. However shipping was $66.00 and I paid about $70 for the two sets of pans so did not return them and have no idea what to do with them now. Very frustrating.LJDTB

I have been using Puppy Playpens for approx. 12 yrs.They are ideal for puppies once they are weaned. Keeps puppies clean and safe and gets them use to a crate before leaving, making crate training allot easier for new puppy parents. I Have had Numerous customers tell me how well their new puppy adapted to the crate with no crying or anxiety.
