Surefeed Microchip Small Dog & Cat Feeder For Sale (2024 Update)

It's been since November 11, 2021 since I first started using these feeders for my 3 cats. It took approximately 5-6 weeks to finally be able to close the lids all the way after the training process. They have adapted really well and they each know where their bowls are located. I also did purchase the different colors for all 3 bowls: Bray-Blue, Lexi-Green, Pookie-Pink. I'm able to use the split bowls only for Lexi & Pookie (morning feeding: wet/dry). Bray refuses to eat wet food in that feeder, no matter what I do, so he gets his wet food on the side in a ceramic bowl. Once the other 2 have finished their wet food side of the bowl I switch the bowls out to the single bowl for the duration of the rest of the day with their dry food in there. Whatever is leftover in the morning I scoop into the larger single bowls and that works out just fine (add more in the evening feeding). It's been really good because of the different diets I have to give the kitties and this fixed the problem of someone getting too much food or not enough. I have definitely seen an improvement in them because of it. My original batteries are holding up since November so far and this is now February 1st, so that's good. I only have one cat with a microchip so her bowl is working now with that. At first I had the collar on her just like the other 2 cats because she was originally afraid of the bowl. I had to wait until she was totally comfortable so I could push her head in there far enough to read the microchip to set it up. It does take her to dip her head under the arches a little further to read the microchip, but because her fear is no longer there, it is working. I may even consider getting the other 2 cats micro chipped so they don't have to wear the collars. All in all, I am very happy with these feeder bowls. They are easy to clean too, I actually use can air every day to blow off the hair and food particles that catch in some of the crevasses and then once a week I wipe them down with a soapy damp sponge and dry them with a clean soft cloth. I have also propped 2 of the bowls up for my bigger cats to make it more comfortable for them to eat.ApacheStar

I got two of these in Dec 2022. Within a couple days I saw how this company is definitely money hungry and super inconvenient. I bought 2 Feeders with the hopes of making my life easier as I have cats on multiple medicated diets. As stated in other videos and reviews there is a backing that can be purchased to prevent food stealing…but for a price. Instead I created a box around them with items I already had. Then my cats were still able to steal food straight from the front even when on a mode with the fastest close lid setting. There are also "secret" custom modes available to use which will hopefully help with food stealing. However you are not provided any of these custom modes unless you call or email and they will get back to you in 24-48 hours with what the mode they believe will be most helpful (not just a list of possible modes available). All of which still were not helpful and a headache to contact back and forth with. After so many modes trying the feeder stopped working. If you don't want to do all this don't worry PAY MORE and get the connect but wait.. it won't work unless you buy the additional hub to go with it! Which then you won't be able to do the functions yourself but still have to contact them for them to remote into your hub to do it themselves which will take a couple of hours to fully sync.

So, in all it did not help my life. I'd rather throw my cat in a restroom every time then keep dealing with this feeder.Jazmin Ornelas

These were a life saver! We got a new kitten and were struggling to keep our other cat and the kitten away from each other's food. We bought each of them one of these feeders and could not be happier! They are amazing! We have a Ragdoll and a Burmese. Any complaints about them not working is because the microchip reader has scanned the chip the first time in an incorrect position. Can be tricky to get right but once you do they are amazing! The only complaint I do have would be the overall size. My female Ragdoll does have to get quote low to get under the sensor bar. If these were made larger that would be great! If she were any bigger it would be too uncomfortable for her. She learnt to use this at 14 years old. The kitten was 4months old. Read the instructions correctly and you shouldn't have problems.Krystel

Just like to say that this product originally should have been included with the main product and not an accessory. It works a treat, easy to install and now I’m totally worry free. As our Sphynx male was having digestive sensitivities, he was put on feed-applied supplements and a very expensive specialty diet. We were working around the clock to feed him, while trying to keep twelve other Sphynx from accessing his expensive dietary food. It was exhausting, trying to feed him, ensuring he got enough, before we would have to remove the food for safekeeping. After researching the Surefeed Microchip Pet Feeder, we decided that this was our best option to give ourselves a rest, while providing our boy round-the-clock access to his food. When we received the feeder, we began serving him his meals "within the arc" – to acclimate him to the apparatus. We would manually activate the door gently in increments, while he would be feeding. After about one week, we decided it was time to program it to operate with his embedded chip. He immediately took to it, and had zero fear of the moving parts. Previously his weight was down, due to our inability to keep him eating. He is now able to free-feed whenever he desires, and we have seen a marked increase in his weight and body condition. This feeder is a miracle, a dream come true, a game changer, a life saver, and more – all in one package! This feeder is worth every penny and then some. There is importance ina slow introduction, to allow your pet to become comfortable with the feeder, but carefully following all advertisements in the instruction manual, you can be successful, too!sewcrazync

This is the hood that should have been part of the original design, solving a problem that anyone could have foreseen. My only criticism is that it is way too expensive for a piece of moulded plastic, compared with the cost of the original item! But they (sadly) have a captive market…peterevelyn

Very easy to use. We have an over weight cat stops him from grazing throughout the day. The other cats can carry on eating as normal. We have bought a second unit we now have one for dry food and one for wet food. The cover stops wet food drying out. Will stop flies in the summer touching the food. Also stops dogs stealing the cat food when we are out.bonzosam65

I bought 2, thinking they would be perfect for my feral cats as their wet food gets covered in flies in the summer – sadly the lids keep closing even when the poor cats are standing right in front eating! I've tried removing the batteries in the hope that this might reset them, but it has made no difference – after a short period of time the lids close automatically, even when the cats are standing in front eating.sgib5284

The concept of this bowl is excellent and it's excution good. Instructions are clear and packaging neat. It is only plastic so not brilliant value for money. The quality is better than most. (Rather binary answer choices are not helpful in providing a proper review.) My cat took to it easily. An improvement would be space for an ice pack underneath the dish. An option for a second dish at a reduced price purchased at the same time would provide additional value.maestrohealth

If you feed your pets wet food and they are slow-eaters (eat a little now and a little later), this is a must-have item. The lid opens automatically when my cat approaches and closes again when he leaves. So it really does prevent wet food from drying out. It is amazing. I used to throw away left-over canned food. I saved up and purchased 2 of these food bowls and the hub for my 2 cats. One of which scoffs all food immediately and the other likes to snack throughout the day. I have noticed now they both are calmer around food as only they can access their food bowl. It really is a great product! My cats adjusted to them straight away, I get notifications of when and how much they eat (Which you can turn off). The app shows you all feeding analytics and allows you to set up scales for each bowl to easily refill each day the amount they need. Set up was relatively easy, and I am not tech-savvy at all. My daughter put me into these. They are so fantastic. My girl likes to graze and the boy eats everything at once. No more watching over them at feed time. Perfect for the Surefeed Motion Activated Feeder (even though it is advertised for the Microchip Feeder). The mat fits perfectly underneath the Feeder edge to catch any spills. Double bowls in the one pack are great to swap around, as are the different colours.DS

I have three cats, each with a Sure Feeder so that medication gets eaten by the right cat and no one can steal food from the others. Having different coloured bowls and mats for each cat ensures each gets the correct meal, and stops me getting confused!Helen

I have 3 cats and 1 gets different food that the other 2 cannot eat, but love. I would have to put his food away constantly and bring it out so he could eat. It really didn’t take long for him to figure out how to use it and it’s worth what i paid for. It’s aesthetically not appealing but it gets the job done, also bigger than what i thought it was haha. I have it on top of a cardboard box for now so it’s more convenient and easier for my cat to access since the tag (sensor) has to be really close to the feeder so it will open.G

I purchased this unit a few weeks ago before a weekend trip away. I got it several days before my scheduled trip and it seemed to work well and I think it worked while I was away, but today I'm not sure. I have been hearing it move twice in the morning since I have been off work all weekend. I was wondering why some of the compartments still had food in them and others completely empty. I do notice when I hear the unit move my cat goes running towards it. The setting of the unit is certainly not straight forward there are 9 options and 5 spots, but only 4 if you don't count the open one. The instructions were less than informative. I did determine something by reading the "Questions" portion today.moblrn

I have had this feeder now for about 2 years, for use when away on vacation. It has worked well until recently, but later realized new batteries were needed. Now,working perfect again. Luckily they only missed 2 meals by our return. Small problem: We have 2 cats and as kittens, it was great as they could share the one device for 5 days. And having two devices, could set one for AM feeding and the other for PM. Now that they are older, bigger and will finish the others food – they each need their own – limiting the number of timed portion controlled feedings it will provide. Initially disliked but practical design: As for the timer mechanism placement living under the actual cover, its a bit tedious, but it does prevent accidental disturbance by paws. Larger problem: My main issue is the open compartment. It prevents 5 timed feeding cycles. This should be named 4 portion feeder, as the one compartment is always open. It allows direct access . For animals that are grazers, eating throughout the day – this is great. But I have 2 cats, who will finish the others food. I only find this helpful is its close to feeding time when leaving, so can use that open compartment immediately.Shari

My Siberian has odd hours throughout the day and early morning for 2 medications. I swiped and invisible coating of peanut butter in each tray to overpower the plastic scent. Non-chewable medicines I put in edible-when-raw cookie dough. She hears the feeder move to the next slot and she comes running after just the second time training her. This give us human pack members (me) freedom to go shopping, visiting, anything you want and not have to worry about missing a medicine time. Day 2 and now she sleeps near it. I was anxious to get this duo for our 10 month old pup- he spends lots of time outdoors and this would allow him to have unlimited water and food. Upon receiving the product the top lid of the food popped off and never went back on securely – – i did email the seller and he/she had no clue about the product at all and uninterested of what was going on- we still use the product but the pup is able to knock off the lids and now plays with it! I don't know if ours was faulty or if all of the containers are like this!crazinusa

Looks exactly as advertized. Food dispenser hold 4lb bag. You have to shake the container when you need to refill the food bowl. Water fills itself whenever the bowl gets too low. To refill the food dispencer you just pop of the lid on top. To refill the water dispenser you need to flip it upside down and pull off the bowl attachment, unscrew the lid (about the size of the palm of large mayonase jar) i only have to do this once a week. Honestly, i love it and deffinitely would reccomend to a friend.MaeYenger

Bought these for my two cats, thinking they would be great for feeding while we are gone for a long weekend. The dry cat food dispenser needs to be given a slight nudging everday so the food from the canister can flow down into the bowl, otherwise it gets stuck inside. Perhaps the opening is a bit too small. The water dispenser works fine but if any of you have cats, then you know they don't like stale water. That's a cat behavior thing and not the fault of the manufacturer. Hoping to teach the cats to nudge the food themselves using their paws before trying to leave them for more than 1 day.GeorgiaGirl

For the price this feeder is great! However the hole that dispenses the cat food is a little too big for my cats food size. If I used cat food that had just a little bit larger pieces then I think it would probably be just the right size. (I feed my cat Rachel Ray's Super Premium "Longevity" and it comes, as I said, in VERY small bites). So for under $4 it's well worth seeing if its the right fit for your cat food!Robin

We got this for our cat since we would be out of town for two days. It works out pretty well and she had no problem transitioning from her usual bowl to this feeder. It has pictures of small dogs on the label but it works fine for cat kibble as well. The feeder itself is great but the only problem I had was that this couldn't be found in store. It's clearly in store as our order was ready the next day but they didn't have it on the shelves. The feeder was also fairly dusty when handed to me so they must have been sitting somewhere for a long while.Ptolemios

Fixes in two design flaws would've made this product a 5-star for me. First, the lid does NOT snap shut. Have to use tape to keep the top from flipping up in wind and protect the food from other critters. Second flaw, the sides as the food is exiting need to be higher in order to keep the cat food from running over it and being wasted. For the price, they will work for my purposes of feed the neighborhood's hoard of cats while out of town.Donna

I bought this automatic feeder for our cat to allow her biscuits whilst we are either later at work or out for the day. It is battery AA run. The timer is not time related but hourly, so you set it to open anything from 1 hour to 48 hours. You can put wet food in as the product comes with a gelice pack but we have only put biscuits in.Th only downside is our cat is managing to get the feeder open slightly before the set time. We are not sure how she is doing this but it is not really a problem to us as she is still getting fed without having to wait for us to return home.Mrs M Garlick

One of my cats is prone to feline acne on his chin so plastic bowls are not a good idea for him. Price is high but they fit correctly and seal to the feeders lid which plain SS bowls i found do not. Quality is fine. Metal is thin but that doesn't seem to be a problem. I haven't dented one yet in normal use. Would be nice if there was a divided version like in the plastic bowls for wet and dry. I like them so far and if the money doesn't put you off are a good add on for the chip feeder.jb3753

I absolutely love this automatic meal feeder for my cat. It is easy to setup by just turning the dial timer to schedule the 2 mealtimes. It helps feed the cat automatically as well as control the portion size. There are two trays each of which holds upto 1.5 cups of food. The lid is secure and tamper resistant. The feeder is easy to clean and dishwasher safe.Ayaan

I just received it. We have had it about 2 weeks now. And it's made of a hard plastic with 2 weeks for food, it had two timers and it works better then I expected. It's easy to use. My animals are not afraid of it. It makes no sound. Done make a clicking noise of had a buzzer when it's time to eat. But this one has none. Which is great.Christie 75

Our cat loves to sing us the song of her people at 6am as encouragement to get up and FEED the cat. As you can imagine every morning at 6am sharp as if she has her very own kitty alarm clock set..we hear "Meow" followed by "Meow" and this process continues for a good 45 minutes. At the 45 minute mark when she realizes that we are refusing to be awoken by her songs..she claws at our bedroom door. In desperation we open the bedroom door and go back to bed! Why negotiate with the tiny furry terrorist? The problem is that now that the door is open she has free reign to sing LOUDER and PROUDER! So she will continue to sing loud and proud the songs of her people to make sure we were well aware that her bowl is probably not actually empty, but needs to be filled anyways. So she will continue with an enthusiatic "MEOW MEOW" for another fifteen minutes until our alarms officially go off at 7am. Now at 7am she feels that her reign of terror may officially begin and she will claw at the bed and/or jump on the bed to gain our full attention at the travesty that is her probably not empty bowl in the kitchen. This product is saving my marriage, my door frame and my sleep! We can now set the two bowls to magically pop open at 6am and 6pm and our cat thinks we have some black magic going on however she is being fed at a proper hour now..so she is happy. I am happy because I can sleep until my alarm and there is less home repair now. My only complaint is that the two bowls are connected, I wish they were separate so you could wash them, or even dump the food from one to the other to set one side, I tend to like to do things when I'm thinking about it, and since my cat likes to reign terror at 6am, if I think about the bowl at 3pm, it would be nice to just be able to dump the old food. If I think about it at 7pm, I could combine all the food and then set it, etc. But that is a small complaint considering my tiny furry terrorist is leaving me alone in the morning. I'm not sure she's happy that her food is magically appearing, but she'll live!JennH

Decided to get this because the cat always acted if he wasn’t getting enough food while I was gone during the day. This way the cat can eat, have access to food when he hungry an i wouldn’t have to worry. Ge loves his new feeding station. However it looks n feels cheaply made. The top twists on but it doesn’t stop turning even after locking so that was a negative but over all a great product n the cat likes it.chloe33

I am really enjoying this feeder for my cat. Not having to refill her her food twice a day is so nice. This feeder holds a 3lb bag easily. I love how the lid turns until it clicks shut. It has a deep enough bowl that food doesn’t fall out every where. Very nice quality and super durable.Sarrababy

We have 2 cats and this is great for our us not being home all the time. We can fill it up and know the cats have food for the day or more! I also really like how the top cap comes off to fill but you can so take the whole white tub off also from the bowl. Makes cleaning super easy and if you just need to wash the bowl part separate it’s very easy to just take that part off and do so! I was stressed about going to the office for one day each week and leaving my puppy (food focused lab) without her midday feed. Buying this feeder was the best. Plus I added a late afternoon snack in case I was delayed. Only problem I've found is that the kibble gets hung up inside the machine rather than sliding down to the rotating widget at the bottom. This disturbed me when I come home to a hangry puppy with food still in the machine. I overcame this by suspending a zip lock bag over the opening with the bottom corner cut out – kind of creates a funnel. Now we are all happy.Maia

I love this automatic feeder and so does my cat. It's convenient to use, easy to program and has eliminated any worry about not feeding my cat on time if I'm home late or want to sleep in. She also seems to enjoy eating more from this larger stainless steel bowl than her other food bowl for some reason. Excellent customer service from Pet Circle too.Preeti

I have 2 cats and purchased 2 units. The units have been in use for one full week. The cats no longer bother me when they are hungry – they now see the units as the source of food. These units have a good capacity, cats cannot break into it or topple it. I did add their former glass feeding bowl into the feeding tray to help contain the food. That works well. I stayed near the unit the first two feedings to provide reassurance from the noise of the machine (which is not very loud). Now they run to the units when they hear the units dispensing food. I was unable to set the clocks for exactly the same time. One unit dispenses 1 minute later than the other which the cats have adapted to. Very pleased with these feeders and recommend them.Zinzan
