Strongest Tug Of War Dog Toy For Sale (2024 Update)

My Carmine loves his Bumi. This makes number two for him. He had a horseshoe which was his favorite thing and these Bumi are a great replacement. We loves to bring it to me for a fling across the yard or a good game of tug tug. Some times he just wobbles it around by the center point like he’s really doing something. Well made. The opportunity presented itself for me to try out the Bumi dog toy, produced by West Paw. This particular toy is one of West Paw's newest dog toys. Bumi, makes an exceptional toy for tug of war. It is made of Zogoflex. Zogoflex is a strong, malleable material that is suppose to withstand unfavorable conditions. Those conditions being my dog's sharp teeth, his powerful grip, and his action in thrashing it all over the yard as he is playing. Well, I went outside and introduced him to the Bumi. He wasn't excited like I thought he would be. At first, that was disappointing. He would not play tug of war with me. Instead, he liked running and fetching the Bumi back to me. The Bumi is a light weight, "S" shaped, bouncy toy that is easy to throw for fetching. It also travels a bit further than most toys due to these traits. It is non-toxic, BPA and Phthalates free ( Phthalates is a chemical used to soften PVC plastics). These substances can cause damage to the kidneys, liver, lungs, and testes according to animal research. Not all dog toys are safe and I do not want to risk my dog's health for anything. The Bumi is made to be long lasting and safe for dogs to chew on. I like that he will fetch the toy because it requires him to get up and move. Exercise will be good for him and he is learning a few commands. I gave him a reward and that really motivated him to continue fetching. It looks like my dog will enjoy chewing on this toy for the most part. So far, it has held up well.When he puts his mouth on it, he grips it in the middle section, where it has a ball like shape. I suppose it's because this is the first time he has had a toy like this. Usually, he retrieves balls and other round toys so this toy is fun and easier for him to grip. This toy is made in the USA and it was made to last a long time. The chewing action is good for his gums and teeth. The Bumi floats in water and can be easily washed or placed in the dishwasher. Lastly, I was impressed with the fact that if the Bumi comes apart it can be returned to West Paw company for a new one. The West Paw Company made this toy so it can be recycled if returned. It's a great toy for my dog and with it being recyclable, it is good for us and our environment. I don't think a dog owner could go wrong in purchasing this new innovative toy by West Paw.DD

Over the past 17 years, we've had 3 dogs and have bought hundreds of toys over those years. None of our dogs were very rough with their toys, so we've had 3 baskets full of gently used dog toys. All 3 dogs have since passed away, the last one in June of 2020. So, in September of 2020 we got a mini Goldendoodle puppy. Since we still had the 3 baskets full of toys that were in good condition from our other dogs, our new puppy, "Bowie" has had tons of toys to play with. The big difference is that Bowie is NOT gentle with his toys!! He is a power chewer who not only tears toys apart, he will actually consume the stuffing!! I've had to take every toy away from him after a day or two due to his weird appetite! I NEVER leave him alone with a toy. But there is one toy from that bunch that he absolutely loves and is still in excellent condition. So, thankfully, I was able to find the name of the company stamped into this toy, and I immediately searched the internet for the company West Paw (praying that it was still around). I was ecstatic to find their website, and there I saw his beloved toy – the "Bumi"!!! I was also surprised to see it listed as a toy for gentle chewers! I saw that almost all the reviewers mentioned that their dogs were more like Bowie – power chewers. The other thing about the Bumi is that it makes Bowie do the Zoomies all around the house whenever he plays with it. It makes him crazy! So, the added benefit is the exercise he gets when he plays with it, and there is still not a single bite mark on it! Cannot hold up, unlike it\'s advertised use. 10 minutes after receiving the toy, my 9 month old poodle mix had damaged the rings and there are now sharp edges and pieces have flaked off. I bought this on a whim because I saw it in the clearance bin while I was there for treats, it looked fun and it was cheap, and it turned out to be my 1 year old golden retirever's favorite non-ball toy of all time. I thought it seemed durable and it's held up for a couple of months, however it's starting to have dents where she chews on it. I would HATE to take it away, but I will have to if pieces are going to start falling off. I'm crossing my fingers that the one I got was defective, maybe it was on clearance because it was old, or the one I got was defective or something. Mine also is not the glow one, but it is the same size. I couldn't find a product listing for the non-glow one. Hopefully this one is newer and stronger than the one I have.Becca and Friday

I bought this because it was recommended for gas and bloating, sensitive stomach, and chicken allergies. First, the smell is incredibly off putting. It makes the pantry and kitchen smell horrible-makes my nose and throat burn and can’t imagine how the dog feels smelling it. My dog does not care for the smell. He would come within a foot or two, sniff, rub his nose and bark. I finally got him to try it by having our other dog eat a few pieces. He picked it up and spit it out for about 5 mins before he actually ate a piece. The transition is bit rough for his stomach as well. His stomach and intestines rumble like crazy and his stool is soft and yellow and smells horrible. Yes, I am slowly adding the Wellness, so I don’t think it is new food shock. I’ll keep with it and see what happens, but honestly at this point I’m very dissatisfied with the $70 this cost. At this point, I would not recommend this food to anyone.Mommio24

If you have a dainty pup that will delicately carry their toys from one place to another, this might be great for you. If you have a big beefy chewer that wants to decimate every dog toy in their path, don’t bother with this. It is currently in pieces all over my house. I’ve had it less than a week. The durability is basically 0. Would not recommend. To be fair, in the few days he spent destroying it, he did seem to enjoy it.MPtheNP

This is my golden retriever’s new favorite toy. He carries it around everywhere, and it adorable to watch him whip it around while he’s got the rope in his mouth. He hasn’t destroyed it yet which is a huge plus as he usually destroys a toy within hours of getting it. He’s happy so I’m happy!Kat

This is a very interactive toy that provides your pet the opportunity to burn off energy while interacting and bonding with his human. A few minutes of this very active play time goes a long way for both dog and human; I find that both of us need frequent breaks to rest and calm down. I use this toy also to practice agression control commands. Gus loves to play tug-o-war but sometimes preferrs to adjust his grip towards either end near the handle where the toy narrows; I have to watch out that he doesn't accidentally get one of my fingers when he does this.stevwiro

I raise labs and bulldogs so they destroy stuffed toys, however, these tugs tend to stand the test longer then most. I like how it's a soft toy and a tug in one.Beachtime

My Dachshunds had less than 4 hours and chewed through one side of the ropes. Cut remaining rope off. They still like to play tug-of-war with the rest of it though. Keep an eye on if your dog is a chewer.fjwlobo

My lab who is a medium chewer, took this out of the box. Within only minutes the rope was pulled out. He took the trim off the Santa. He has a moose that he loves and doesn't even have the stuffing out of it. I would say this was just poorly made and not worth even the sale price I paid for it. I have a very toy obsessed Boston Terrier that is notorious for destroying anything outside of a hard rubber ball. When I saw this toy I thought it would be perfect because the hard red rubber circle was something she couldn’t destroy. I was right about the red rubber ring but wrong about the strap. She pulled that part completely off within minutes.Ingramma

This is an awesome dog toy. It is incredibly strong, both the rubber and the woven part and has survived our aggressive chewer for awhile now. I also love that it can float on water which adds to the fun.mrskeen
