My 1 year old son saw this during Christmas shopping and fell in love with it. I got it for him for Christmas and he enjoys this little dog/truck toy. He's a little rough with it, but it's still working fine. The good thing about this toy is that it runs on its own when it's touched. The bad thing is that it only runs forward, and does not know to reverse when it runs into things. When the dog sits there idle for a while it turns off and requires that an adult switch it off then on again. This is great to save battery, but not fun if I have to keep doing it for my son. I understand the concept of the toy, to launch the truck and try and smash the bones out but it rarely actually works. My 4 year old son thought it was really cool that it looks like you can turn scrap metal into tools and he loved that the arms for the recycle bin turn outward so you can attach the tools to them to do more "work". my daughter loves this toy! she got it for hwr 3rd birthday and has been playing with it nonstop. my only complaint is that you have to load the tools in the back by flipping it upside down for it to actually recycle. if you lift the lid too far it gets stuck and is hard to put back down. i feel like they shouldnt have put a divider in the trash bin, she expects to be able to drop the materials in the top and they come out the back. I opened this toy up and played with it myself, before giving it to my kids, so they didn't yet know how it worked. You take the "metal chunk" pieces and put them in the front compartment, and the "tool" pieces in the back. Then you pull the lever to dump the can and out of the back pops the "new" tools, which you can pop onto the arms on the front to use in your missions. My family has been using Starmark for a number of years and have owned every single one of their dispensable treat toys. We have 3 labs and a Weimaraner i.e. crazy chewers! We loved the Bento balls, until the puppy tore through them over time and the expensive treats were gone in 10 minutes. Similar for the Fireplug… I was hopeful with the Groovy Ball, but that was destroyed the first time! The Treat Ball has lasted the longest with 2 treats in and holding up well. (Hint for any of those toys is to put the curved treats in concave not convex.)By far the Wheeler has been the best as the material is not the same soft silicone that the others are made of. Also it uses the flatter treats where as the curved ones can pop out when wet with saliva. Even loading it with one of the treats it lasted over an hour. With the other toys some of the treats were lasting only 10 minutes.We'll see how long this material stands up but I'll be ordering 3 more for the other dogs either way.Mazinkoda
I gave this product an average rating because my dog tends to be an aggressive chewer. This is why I purchased the product. He was able to dismantle the tire rather quickly but he also goes through Kong's just as easily. I don't think this is a knock on the product as much as it is a challenge to me to find something he doesn't destroy.That being said, I contacted the manufacturer shortly after he broke the tire into a few pieces and they responded in a very timely manner offering to send a replacement toy. I received the toy but, again, he was too aggressive for it. This recycling truck comes together very well with many functional features including sounds with every movement. My 5 year old son absolutely loves it and we have found that there is so much imaginative play is happening with this toy. The products was packaged very well and was easy to remove from the packaging. As one knows for parent its a race against time to get the toy out of the package so his/her child can play with it. Removal was very easy and self explanatory and the minimal instructions that came with toy was just perfect enough to show the functions and features. The recycle truck was bigger then I thought but this has lead to a lot of hauling of many different types of refuse ; paper pieces, marbles, building blocks and smaller cars. The truck seems to be well made and since we have had the truck (3 weeks), it has been thru as much action that a 5 year can supply and it is holding up very well. The side loading feature with its garbage can is very sturdy allowing for real life play and very little effort is needed to perform the dumping feature . The only issue I have is the structure of the lifting arm and feel it is a little stiff at time for smaller kids to operate. The garbage can is a good size and can also be used to dump things into the back of the truck. The interior hauling area of the truck is large and allows for a lot of things to be placed in it, and its dumping feature works very well. The feature that sets this truck apart is its sounds. The multiple sounds including the two horn types, start up, compacting, and the sounds of the vehicle moving forward and reversing are spot on. The volume switch has three settings( off, low and high) and we our only complaint is the difference in volume between low and high are not really that different . My son (almost 5) loves garbage trucks. The highlight of his week is garbage day. He has several other garbage truck toys. When the toy arrived, he was extremely excited to play with it. I liked that it makes sounds but isn't overly obnoxious like some toys. The sounds were more realistic and were tied into to numerous actions that the truck did. Another cool feature was the garbage can forks/arm that gripped the trash can and could easily be "dumped" into the top of the truck. My son used anything he could find to be trash. Legos make good pretend trash. The back of the truck has two large doors that opened making it easy to empty out. My 3 year old struggled a little to get the van to slide onto the forks as it is kind of a tight fit. This truck has remained a popular toy at our house. I received the Matchbox large scale recycling truck free through play rate and review. My 3 year old grandson absolutely loves his new "garbage truck". I gave it to him at 5pm the night I got it and he played with it all evening and took it to bed with him. I call that a hit when a toy entertains a 3 year old for that long! He loves that he can fill the truck up with all his smaller cars, haul them around and dump them out. No it did not! It was broken when we opened the box. I think it was returned broken and resold to me. Tried to replace it but Walmart no longer sells it now they sell it on their sight but for Mattel. Price going from 20.00 to 60.00. And of course Walmart doesn't have anymore. They would exchange it but only if I could find it in a Walmart store but of course it is only sold on line. The service representative did everything she could to fix this but I'm sure her supervisor told her no. So I was left returning it to Walmart and left without a Christmas present for my Grandson. I think this is why Walmart gets bad press. They only care about their bottom line!PL

The robot truck was a lot more than I had expected. The construction of the truck is solid and the color is nice and bright. It says and does a lot of funny things keeping the kids amused. It is quite clever but provides limited play opportunity as it only comes with one character / vehicle. Even if affordable after paying extortionate amount for Cruiser, the extras are not available to buy yet in the UK. We found what we thought would be an appropriate extra in the shops. It was as usual expensive and bubble packed. It was not compatible with the cruiser after all, when we opened it. It has helped me to decide not to be pressurised into buying any more expensive plastic, poor value toys, because it has been advertised to young children. I bought this for my niece's son for his birthday and he loved the vehicle. He didn't even know about the mission Cruiser even though his up to date on his paw patrol stuff for a 5 year old.
