This was my first order with Melissa & Doug's site and it was for my grandson. His mother, my daughter, is a counselor at an elementary school said that Melissa & Doug are a well known and respected company in the teacher's and children community. It is a Christmas gift so the joy is yet to come. The turtle is big, well made, and hopefully a keepsake for a four year old's bed for many years to come. As I told my daughter he may play with many other toys but this should help him go to sleep every night. He of course will have to come up with a name for his Sea Turtle and there in lies the real magic of this gift.
My wife saw this at someone's home and picked it up and hugged it. She loved it and its soft and squishy plus pretty large, like 3 feet from nose to tail and great coloring. This turtle reef is just a bit smaller than a volleyball. I have a 50lb Labrador and she loves burying her snout in the reef and pulling out the little turtles. She tosses them up to her self and runs around squeaking them. Of note, my lab does not unstuff plushy toys, nor does she desqueak squeaky toys. If you have a dog prone to destructing or dismantling toys I wouldn't recommend this item. Also, it's not a huge toy and the turtles can fit in the palm of my hand. I wouldn't recommend it for a large breed dog either. Though for a small/medium breed or a runty large breed like my lab it's just enough!
