Bought this from Petco on 02182022. Sprayed it on two items our mini dachshund pup has been attacking. The attacks stopped immediately. It has no smell when wet or when dry. One warning: wear rubber gloves when applying! My granddaughter and I both got it on our hands and despite several hand washings, we both got yucked at supper time. Also, spray the items outdoors or in the garage, away from anything that someone might touch. One of the pup's Kong squeaker balls caught some of the overspray. Now she is avoiding ALL her toy balls. Very bitter! Keep your mouth shut and avoid talking while spraying this, and wash your hands thoroughly afterward. It's really bitter, and you'll taste it for yourself if you don't! We learned from the internet that you should first give your puppy a taste on a cotton ball or something, then hold his water up for 30 minutes to an hour so he doesn't think he should just drink water to get rid of the taste. We sprayed the furniture he can't stop chewing after that, and it worked pretty good. To keep things bitter, you'll probably have to reapply every day or several days, but it's worked well for our Australian shepherd puppy.Emily

I adopted two very rambunctious puppies and bought many bottles of Grannick's Bitter Apple to deter them from chewing on things like furniture, shoes, etc. I tried other deterrents as well as puppy chew toys. In my opinion, Grannick's works the best. I gave this product four stars because the pump strayer was defective on a several bottles and did not spray. The liquid just dribbled out. You have to do more than just ONE spraying I have two 9 month old Staffordshire Bull Terriers that will eat chew thru anything! Of Couse love my slippers. I have a big German shepherd/malamute mix, a very sweet dog but with problems around other large breeds. We adopted him 1 1/2 years ago and didn't know his temperament entirely, but noticed his aggression. I've been through at year of training with him, but still there's an occasional problem. Also, while wearing your gloves, wipe off anything that might come in contact with dogs or humans. We sprayed a cheap plastic basket our grandkids were using to store small toys. Even though we dried the basket, the toys still picked up some yuck. The kids hands then got contaminated. And then all kinds of things got yucky. But, so I know where he is, I'm keeping him on a leash indoors, to gently pull him off the furniture (he chewed the bottom edge of my coffee table when no one was looking) and so he can't hide-the end of the leash will give away where he is, and that he's no doubt up to something! I've been a dog trainer for going on a decade now. At least once a month I have people who come to me because they can't get their dogs to stop chewing on their shows, electrical cords. Pretty much anything they can get their chompers on. There are some training options that I use to curb the behavior, but they don't work in all dogs. A lot of times it's just because the owners can't give puppies enough time to actually stop the chewing. The dogs get anxious and they start biting everything in sight. It's a huge problem that a lot of people deal with. I've been looking for a product that would stop chewing, but I hadn't found anything that I liked. Some of the other anti-chew products for sale seem to taste really bad for dogs, but I don't like the ingredients they put in them. That's why I was excited to see that Chew Not was had tea tree oil in it. If the company was willing to take that step, then I figured the rest of the ingredients were pretty good too. Received this anti chew bitter spray to deter my new puppy today and starting using it as well. I did receive this product at a discount for my honest and unbiased review. I didn't mind using this bitter spray to deter my new puppy because of its ingredients and the safeness of it. I didn't mind spraying my shoes or furniture because of the ingredients as well. My puppy did find it somewhat bitter by the look on its face and by the mere fact he left certain things alone. This will be a true safe guard against unwelcome chewing on the part of the puppy from here on out until he's through his puppy chewing stage. I had no idea there was a product on the market for this and already have told several of my friends that need some also. The product is exactly as it is described in the description and is certainly something that I have benefited from having already today. Like a lot of people, I bought a bottle of Chew Not because I got a puppy that would not stop chewing. He was the cutest little chihuahua, but nothing I did could get him to stop. I even put him in a cage when I was away from the house. He would literally chew on the metal wires. It got so bad that I was worried about him hurting himself. I asked the vet what I could do to stop this and she suggested that I get something very bitter that the dog would hate. She also wondered if the problem was related to the dog's new teeth coming in. The puppy ones were falling out (I found a few in the cage) and adult teeth were coming in. The vet thought maybe I should try an anti-chew product that would also soothe the dog's teeth. I got Chew Not because of the tea tree oil, which sounded like a good way to give the dog some relief while discouraing his chewing habit. It took a few tried, but eventually the dog stopped. Hopefully in a few months I won't have to keep him in the cage every day. I'd love for him to have more freedom as long as he isn't destroying things.

I bought this spray last week after it was recommended to help keep my cat off of my white tufted chairs. My cat jumps up on the seat of the chair and scratches the back of the chairs.
