I'm giving this harness only three stars because I watched my cat lay on his side yesterday and pull one leg out of its hole. I'm certain that he'd have gotten the other leg out in short order if I hadn't caught him in the act (the harness fits him pretty snugly). Before I saw that – because it looks like a good design – I was convinced that he would NOT be able to wiggle out of it, but I was wrong. Now, I'm not sure if there is such a thing as an escape-proof harness for cats. Having said all that, it is well made and of good quality.squat48

I have a pit/lab mix, and he hasn't been on many walks, even though he needs to to cut down a few extra lbs. I looked at the sizing chart, and he was right in between the 2 sizes, so I went with the bigger one because I wanted him to be comfortable. I dont know if size had anything to do with it, but I couldn't get it to lay flat on him. It comes with several adjustment spots, so I can make sure it fits him good. He seems to really like it, as compared to other harnesses we have used with him. The material is nice and padded, it seemed very comfortable for my dog. The leash attachment is also in a really good place to pull at his chest and not his neck. In the time using this, I have not noticed any issues with the zipper or with the quality. When we rescued our Westie/poodle mix, he had never walked on a leash and fought us to the point that we had to carry him a few blocks and then try to leash walk. This Stash and Dash harness is great. It is so easy to take off and on that Remy doesn't seem to notice. When I use the hook at the bottom of the harness he stops pulling and tugging. This is a great harness because it is breathable and doesn't make my dog too hot. It also packs up into a small package that can be attached to a bag by the included caliber clip. You can also pack snacks and a little food in the pouch while your pup is wearing it. It also has nice metal clips at the chest and the rear of the front of the harness under the pouch. I have had the original H-style lupine harnesses for my cats for many years. They are the only harness that I totally trust. I have tried step in harness types and my cat backed out of both of the other brands that I tried. Terrifying what could have happened to her as we live in a big, busy city. Lupinepet=trust. They also look great and are highly customizable so that the neck and girth fit just as they should.
I got the mountain lake and was complimented on the color by people we passed on the street. looks good on a blue merle dog! I had to take a phone call after putting the harness on and left pup in the xpen for 10 minutes too long and he chewed a strap, ack! maybe needed to have it fit tighter. Lupine is super, though, and honoring the lifetime warranty. I've had their leashes and harnesses for my senior dogs since 2008(!) all are still in great shape. Gotta keep a closer eye on this little chewer so hopefully the replacement will last to his senior days too!

This is a reassuringly robust harness. Looking at the size guide, the guidance on harness size for weight of dog shows a large overlap between small and medium. We bought the medium harness. It fitted but the underneath pad came right up to our dogs chin when she was lying down in the car, making it uncomfortable. We decided to buy the small harness to use until the dog fits into the medium one. This is MUCH smaller than the medium harness. It barely fits our dog. I think the design of the harness and its sizing are poor even though its construction is sturdy.0114lecturer

It is the very best thought out design I've seen on a harness: the dog doesn't need to step through anything; the back clip-in point is oriented to distribute the force of a pulling dog throughout the harness (which minimizes pressure points when your dog who's bred to sled is pulling you to your destination); and there's a front clip in point when you want to minimize pulling tendencies. Super burly and durable, while being comfortable and breathable. One of my dogs has put thousands of miles on his with no damage or fraying at all – incredible. I love these harnesses so much. Not only is the quality great, but I love that the clips are not metal. My dog is very sensitive to this sound and would tense up in fear when I’d put his old harness on from the sound of the metal clips clinking together. He had no reaction except excitement when I put this one on him. I do love the color, but I just wish there was a true red to match the maple collar (which is the one he wears). I have two of these harnesses because I bought the smallest one for my miniature dachshund when these originally launched. My wife and I both love the harness. Our dog is a rescue and we got him at 2YO, and VERY afraid so it has always been a challenge to touch him from day one. We've always had issues with bulky harnesses or, as we realized later, uncompfortable ones for him. We were kind of afraid using this one because it seemed a little bit bulky but after only 2 walks, we can see that it very light and he's feeling comfortable with it as he played and ran a lot. Also, I know for some it's not good to hear that there was an issue with the order, but realistically it can happen in any company and the main point here is that they SOLVED IT FAST AND WITH GREAT ATTENTION to what we, as customers, needed. We received a different color than ordered and within 24hs we already had a second one shipped. Moreover, I had bought it 2 days before the new colors came out and thought "well, that's just tough luck", but they made the change and the new shipment was sent in Seafoam =) A big shout-out to Alanna from Customer Support as she was fast and very friendly resolving my issue. It's also a gorgeous harness in general and I love putting it on her. Only issue I have is the loose loop for the clasp that slides down to her armpit if she's running around off-leash, so this really is a harness best suited for on-leash. The front no-pull clasp also feels kinda pointless with such a loose fit, there wouldn't be much control and i suspect it would be awkward for my pup to walk with it attached at the front.
