Bought this for our 7 month old Pyrador puppy, who has already outgrown one house. It was easy to put together, and the sturdist dog house we've ever seen. Plus being insulated is perfect for a cold Indiana winter. She's huge and still growing and loves it. The first night she slept in front of it despite dog treats inside. Second night was cooler, she decided to check it out so the head and front paws went thru the swinging door first, and after she had stood that way for about 5 minutes, walked all the way in, and has loved it ever since. From the size if it unless she grows as much as Clifford the big red dog, she'll get to enjoy for a lifetime.PJ

We got this house for a new Boxador puppy so that it can spend most of its time outside. We found it to be a good product. It was easy to put together and does stay much warmer than the outside air. In rainy weather, it stays dry. It is a very large house which would work for a lab or other large dog. No problems with the dog using the door. Only suggestion: add nuts and bolts for the 6 screws. Screwing metal into plastic is not a real good plan. I'm assuming the company will have replacement parts (door, window, etc…) available for my investment!Y Robinson

My husband and I purchased this to use while tailgating at Kansas City Chiefs football games. We place a heater inside (with vents open) and this thing warms up in no time. It was perfect for the last game we went to when there was snow on the ground. There's plenty of room for several people to pop in and warm up for a few minutes. It's very easy to set up and take down, even when it's 22°F and your fingers are frozen.Kim

I bought this for someplace to sit outside during the winter and enjoy a cigar. It gets very warm very quickly. I'm able to keep my heater on low after the first few minutes. Downside is it does leak around all the stitching. The placement of the windows is terrible. Water is directed straight to them and drips all down inside. Mine is set up on my deck and covered over top with a tarp. Some silicone over the stitching did fix the problem but I shouldn't need to do that. I am happy with purchase for what I am using it for. Not sure how it would hold up on a frozen lake but it's been fine for me. My brother has the 3 man shelter and it doesn't leak at all. Pony up the extra money and go with that one.Jimmyhat

I bought this for winter protection for a colony of 8 feral cats that I care for. The house is sturdy and well made and a cinch to put together! It also looks nice! It shipped fast and arrived safely. We added a homemade clear vinyl "door" to block the wind come winter. The kitties are already loving it!Tanya

This is a good quality, sturdy plastic dog house. We have a medium sized German Shepherd and he easily fits in the large dog kennel and has room to curl up and sleep. It does a pretty good job keeping the rain out, only a little splattering of water gets in in the front but not too bad. Overall, quite happy with the purchase!angelnadie

Arrived quickly. Easy to set up. Very light. Some small pieces might blow away with heavy wind, like the screw covers on roof and the side panel that only holds shut with two flimsy removable tabs. Not for a large dog, but my medium 35 lbs dog likes it and fit snug inside. Dog house looks nice and can be moved easily.Anonymous

i actually bought this for my 4 year old Sulcata. I added insulation and a heat lamp. It does have a floor, but for my use I also added shredded coconut and hay. It worked out perfectly when nights were too cold and also held up in the rainy summer. No leaks and stood up to strong winds. Also easily assembled by 1 person. My tortoise loves it and I imagine dogs would too.Ruby01

This product came in an oversized box, easy to move around, wasn't to heavy, parts were plastic and wrapped individually, easy to remove from the box and each items was well packaged. The instructions are easy to readMARY

I was so excited about getting this doghouse until I started to put this thing together. One of the worst things I have ever had to put together in my life. The walls would not click, nothing would click and hold together. There were no screw holes to screw the screw into. It is extremely flimsy. I would rather spend $200 at Petco for an igloo doghouse which was very sturdy than this.schug

I got this recently on a great sale price… it was half the cost of another dog house that I bought (and returned). The one I ended up returning was designed as an actual house, but cost $100 and the plastic was very flimsy… I felt it wasn't worth the price, and my dog never liked it. I looked online and saw this "dog house" (it's really a crate, IMO); and Petco had the least expensive price, at half the retail cost. I was also able to pick it up the same day at a local store, and received a further discount for picking it up at the store. There's only 2 pieces (a top and a bottom), and the top basically just sits on the bottom, with tabs that are supposed to hold it in place. It's not the most secure, but I don't see this being blown across the yard or anything. The plastic is heavy duty and sturdy… I mean sure, if you live in a tornado or hurricane area, then of course, yes, it'll get toss across the neighborhood; but otherwise, it should stay in place. Great for when you need to leave your pet outside for a while. It's very wide, but not very long though. My dog can curl up in here and he can fit, but he can not stretch out or lay out in this… which is fine, because dogs usually like sleeping curled up and they like snug fitting enclosures to sleep in. My standard size labradoodle fits into it. He uses it to sleep in. This is not something he can stand straight up in or something he can stretch out in… but for sleeping, he loves to curl up in it. I bought it for use outside during the winter or a rainy day, to get out of the cold or rain when I have to put him outside in the yard for a while. We put it inside the house first so that he would get use to it. The one I got said it was for dogs 50-90 lbs., which is the large size. He has no problem getting in and out of this, and he likes it a lot better than the Suncast house shaped doghouse I got him (which I ended up returning). This is plastic, but it's made of heavy duty plastic and it's sturdy; there's only a top and bottom part, and basically the top part sits on the bottom part, with tabs that are supposed to hold the two pieces together. I got it on sale, so I got it for a great price.NYCGalOut

Got these doghouses as an outdoor reprieve from the elements for our 2 Huskies. They are very sturdy and made of solid hard plastic. They've managed to remain dry inside even in a couple of downpours and driving rain. The only time that wasn't the case is when I had one on an uneven patch of grass. So you definitely want to place it on a platform if there's no flat surface. Unfortunately our pups, house dogs that LOVE to go out and play, still haven't embraced the concept of having a private pad "outside." Other than that, it's easy to set up and clean. It has plenty of room for our 70 pounder and is absolutely palatial for the 45 pounder. I got the large size for both since they were so affordable – $44 bucks each! Love the color. My dog seems to love his new doghouse. It's very roomy and super easy to assemble. It's insulated too so hope it keeps him warm. We took the bottom half of the doggie door off to get use to going in and out of the doghouse. He did wonderful. I think when we put the bottom half back on it will be fine.LoriOe

I receive the item and the box was in good condition. Upon opening the item there were 8 pieces. 4 walls, the top and 3 pieces that make up the floor. 3 of the 4 walls were split by screws that were inserted on the pre-fabricated panels. I took pieces and sent them to customer service. I believe this was done before being boxed up to ship. Although I was offered a discount for the damaged item I don't believe it would last as the floor did not attach but rested on the ledge of the sides. When my dog stepped into the dog house the first time 1 of the 3 pieces that make up the floor flipped up. It is nice looking but the wood is very cheap. I would not recommend buying.Unhappy Customer

I expected better of this outdoor doghouse, especially for the price. It is made of "fir wood" which isn't a hardwood at all. Pine would have been sturdier. Assembly was easy but the house itself flimsy, with several of the pre-fab section not even nailed or glued together, and some pieces with parts of the wood broken off. Even in the "giant" size it was barely large enough for a 90lb GSD. The feet were plastic and the floor slated wood were the elements can creep through. This house is advertised as ideal for outdoor use – but I wouldn't trust it during a New England winter. It was sent back immediately. I would NOT recommend this manufacturer for outdoor dog houses. For less money you could build a better one out of more durable wood.Razor

I just opened my Small size Precision Pet Extreme Log Cabin doghouse today to assemble. It looks like it will assemble pretty well, although one of the sides is 3/16" out of square. Because the panels are firmly glued and screwed together it will require some adjustment/trimming to assemble correctly instead of attempting to break the glue joints and true it up. Obviously a rush job by the factory in Wuhan. The roof shingles do appear to be very well sealed and bonded together, however there are a few spots on the edges of the composition shingles on the roof where bare wood can be seen at the edges, which would allow water to get into the roof frame, so those spots will have to be sealed. The three piece floor has 1/8" gaps between the slats, so if you want the animal occupying the box to be comfortable when it is cold and windy, you will have to do some modification to the floor, which I plan on doing. The statement that the box is waterproof and weather resistant is a stretch. The stain/preservative used on all of the wood surface is so thin that pouring any water at all on the wood surface disappears as the wood instantly absorbs it. I will not put the box in service until at least 2 coats of a high quality exterior grade paint/stain is applied. If you try and use this box without putting a proper preservative coat on it, you might get one year of use out of it before it rots or suffers UV damage and cracks and splits. This doghouse is being re-purposed by me to be a Barn Owl nest box; the dimensions are almost perfect and as soon as I saw it I realized that it could be used for quick installation during the brief annual window between December to January during which Barn Owls are NOT in their box. All I really have to do is put an insert into the door to reduce the opening size, add a perch/balcony outside the opening, fix the floor, and of course, properly seal the wood so that it will last more than one season. My primary reason for paying the extra money for the "EXTREME" model was the feature description that said: Its stainless steel hardware also adds to its sturdiness. THIS IS A LIE! THE HARDWARE SUPPLIED IS NOT STAINLESS STEEL, so this is my major gripe. My guess is that China figures that most Americans can't tell the difference between stainless and non-stainless steel. I'm a retired engineer, and you can almost always identify stainless/non-stainless steel by its color and appearance, although the surefire test is with a magnet. Regular steel will be strongly attracted by a magnet, if it is stainless steel, you might get a very slight attraction. This stuff is definitely normal steel with maybe a thin coat of zinc – not stainless steel. Easy to put together. I was able to do it by myself ( 53 yr old female). I didn’t have any problems screwing the pieces together. The directions were easy to follow. I was able to get both of my dogs in it once I took the bottom door off. Negative: one of the plugs came out of one of the door halves and 1/2 the insulation came out. Otherwise I have nothing to add because we’ve only had it up for a couple of days.sleepwell43

This house claims to be insulated, but it’s not what you would think. The whole house is just hollow plastic. There is nothing in the walls or ceiling but air. I guess they think the double layer of plastic is considered insulated. I plan to fill the panels with something, not sure what yet.DT

Absolutely delighted with the quality and design of the boots. Unfortunately the XXsmall are not small enough. Our Maltese is fully grown now (20 months old) and weighs in at 7lbs. I was hoping the smallest ones made would fit but that wasn't the case. I have seen some boots that are smaller 0 – 1. I just got this dog house and paid somebody to put it together. Only to find out that it is not extra large. I would consider it medium size. Won’t even fit my lab mix. The flooring and it is also raised and does not feel super sturdy. I would say this house in the size ‘extra large’ is for a 45 pounds and under dog. Will be returning. Very cute though.Aspensdogmom

We were looking for a dog house for our 75 lb German Shepherd & we wanted one he would continue to grow into. This fit the bill. Product arrived quickly and un damaged. Set up was painless and easy. Opening is big enough for him & plenty of room to plop down inside. In less than a year he did break one of the roof attachment rails. Working with New Age Pet wasn't a bad experience and the replacement parts arrived quickly enough. I wish the roof attachment rails were not plastic & were metal to withstand a bit more doggy & wind abuse. But other than that no complaints.CaptainCaveman78

I was looking for a dog house for my two dogs (one 50 lbs the other 60 lbs) to share. I am very happy with this dog house. It's not made out of flimsy wood like a lot of the other houses I looked at. The corrugated ecoflex material is very sturdy and this house is very simple to put together. Each piece is numbered and laying the pieces out in ascending order makes putting this house together a breeze. My dogs fit just fine inside the house and they'll be able to keep each other warm this winter. They are medium sized dogs so they're not very tall, if this house were to be purchased for a large breed the buyer MAY find this house to be too short. ex. A great dane would NOT be able to stand up and turn around in it. I've only had his house for a few weeks so I can not comment on the longevity of this product. The only downfall I've noticed so far is that it does get a little wet on the inside when it rains, I believe they make a plastic flap that can go over the door to help eliminate this problem, I just haven't looked into it yet.
