I had to make a choice about purchasing a new crate for my 6 month SIBERIAN HUSKY. After reviewing all the pro and cons of the construction, safety and of course my dogs well being, I went online to a company that Had a excellent selection of products. The instruction and information provided was exceptional,and within 15 minutes Baxter's old crate was Donated to an Animal Shelter and after a little time he was enjoying his new gift. I must state that even though the crate was in perfect condition,I took the time to clean the bottle pan and all areas before he was allowed to explore his new gift. We have a 6 month old cane corso/pit bull mix, he was 55 lbs and he loves his cage! He's got plenty room right now but so far this cage has paid for itself! He hasn't always loved it. He's bent multiple spots attempting to bust through to get out (sometimes he has while we were gone). Although now after his neuter with his cone and about a month before also going in and out easily. Super spacious!mama

Very nice and easy to assemble. Unlike most of the other crates we have used, could only find one sharp edge which, of course, I cut myself on. But I love the how the gates lift up and slide down for extra security on the latch mechanism. Also, the tray is perfect and does not slide around once the crate is assembled properly. Our puppies love it! By the way, have two Frenchton puppies. Their combined weight is about 18 pounds. They travel very well together in this crate. We got the 24 inch.E.

My husband and I got a puppy from the pound. She was only 2 months old when we brought her home. Using this crate for the first year help us keep our home intact! she would only be put in the crate when we were gone, that way we knew she was safe and not getting into trouble chewing furniture or peeing in the house. those two door design is fantastic! So easy to get them in and out. She loved her crate like a second home. I have two of this size (one door model). I have had these things for ohhh, 10 years…I raised three rotty's in them and kept various rescues of all animal kinds in them until I could get them off to rescue people over the years. They did duty in the barn area for poultry for most of the last 6 years and got messed on all over the place, were damp in the winter and were used like tables with a board on top. Ended up with another rescue that might stay…looked at em all poultry encrusted and dusty and cobwebby and shook my head thinking they're done. They have been through the wringer the last 6 years. I realized I really don't have the money to buy new so decided to try to clean them up as a futile attempt to not have to buy more. I had to at least try. 2 hours ,a bucket of warm soapy water, a scrubby , washcloth and a hose later…OMG. They cleaned up GREAT. The handles of the latches were slightly slightly rusty here or there where the black coating flaked off (about the only place it has flaked off and then only small spots), the metal tubes that connects the panels together a little dull, pitted and slightly rusty here or there and that is IT! They still work just fine and they look award winning good considering where they have been. If not for the latches and the connector pieces they could pass as gently used items despite what they have been through. So essentially, if you want a solid, quality crate that is priced reasonably and WORTH every darn penny….go with precision crates. One precision crate could very likely last you all of your adult life if you stayed with the same size dog. As it is now we have the two x lrgs, 1 mediumish, and 2 for 30 lbs or less dogs. And because I am so impressed with what I have,….I'm going to be buying this X-lrg 2 door version to fit in a spot where a single door crate won't work in my house. Remember- Don't throw away an extra crate that is in working order, donate it to someone who can't afford a crate or find a rescue group that needs it (crates are good for lots of different animals).Windchyme

Finally, after buying several different brands that boasted 5-stars ratings and returning each one because of its sharp, unfinished wire ends/edges, this one arrived! No sharp edges! It's a great crate for the money and perfect for my large bullys. People locally selling used ones on CL for 2x more than this one. Insane not to buy this one. Since it's large, it's not the easiest to transport so keep that in mind if you need portability, but the tradeoff is worth it for the comfort of your pet.V.L.

I replaced a smaller one for a larger size. My dog has a broken leg and in this crate he can stretch out. His leg has not been healing. I hope this crate will help. He can turn easily and stretch. I am hopeful this will help otherwise his leg will be amputated. It is built to last. The only thing that it doesn't have is a built in cup for water. I tried a bowl but it spilled all over the cushion (which fortunately I could put in the dryer). At Walmart however, you can buy a cup that bolts on the cage frame for about $6. Perfect. Fred did indeed to go in for amputation, but they discovered at the last minute that it had healed. I contribute a lot of that to this 30" inch crate. He is 9.4 pounds. He had is cast off today (July 8: originally from April 14. Everybody said it wouldn't heal. I was determined however and kept him in here nearly 24 hours a day. Cheers to Fred. I have two dogs. My newest pup is a chihuahua and he loves to chew baseboards etc.. Anyway he gets crated when I can't keep an eye on him. I also travel out of town a good bit and this folds up and goes in the SUV. I bought a bed liner for it and load all his stupid animals and chews in it and he jeeps occupied for hours – also it is very roomy for him. I have a Boston Terrier and she can fit in it as a larger dog, but she old an does not have the chew problem. I love Precision crates. I'm able to set one up in about 3 minutes, they fold back down for easy storage when not in use. I've never had a dog escape from one, and they come with every conceivable combination of sizes and door number/placement. This crate surpassed my expectations. It is sturdy and the door closures are secure. The three door feature is more of a nice-to-have than a need for me, but it has been useful from time to time. I was concerned that the metal crate would be noisy, it is not unless our dog is unusually restless. When that happens I need to be awake to take care of him anyway, so that's a no-big-deal for me. Currently considering the purchase of the 4000 for home use and leaving the 3000 in the truck cab permanently. Highly recommended.lgriz326

This crate offers the options of opening on the front, side and top. I find that to be very useful in the car and at home. Especially with puppies, I can put a litter in via the top and get then in and out one at a time with out chasing pups, or opening and closing a side door. It is well made also.Duchdog

I bought this crate to replace a smaller one that my dog outgrew. It was also a Snoozzy. It's very convenient to be able to turn the crate around to fit the space and having a door for my dog to use on the end. The old one just folded up to be put away. I ordered this for a pug pup I am getting soon. I haven't used the product yet, but it seems great AND will be perfect for the pup with the crate divider and then no use of the crate divider when the pug is Adult. Pugs usually are no more than 25 lbs and this crate has enough room for a normal sized pug even in adult life. I really like that there are two different doors as well! This crate is perfect for what I need. I haven't watched the puppy video that came with it, but I will be soon! Good deal! The pink is pretty too. Can't wait to use it for crate training! oh yeah- and the doors have a special way you need to lift them before opening and I can't see any dog figure out how to do this and get out as one person said on here. I ordered 2 Large crates for my dogs, a 55 lb Golden Retriever and a 62 lb Labradoodle, and had to send them back because the weight limits on the actual products do not match what is listed online. The product tags listed them for dogs up to 60 pounds rather than 70 pounds as listed online.When I called to have the products swapped out, I was told that they were sent direct from the manufacturer so I'd have to wait for them to call me which would happen in 24 to 48 hours… they never called. I did eventually get a return shipping label but since I never got a phone call to discuss the need to return the smaller size for a larger one, I ended up buying a replacement elsewhere.Mola

bought this crate for travel and use at our vacation home. got a total of 12 days use before my 5 month old 22 pound puppy ripped a hole in the door and broke the zipper. Total waste of money. the company Precision Pets would not make good on in and all I was asking for was a new cover, the frame, pad and case were still good. This is a wonderful travel crate or temporary shelter. We also use like this for our cats in a hotel when we travel. Be aware, this is not for use in a vehicle as there isn’t any way to secure this with a seat belt. Use with a kennel pad for a more cushy or warmer bed.DJ55

I bought this kennel for both home use and travel. My smaller dog tries to hide behind our clothes in the closet during storms and now she has her own "cave" that is safe. We keep her kenneled in the car during travel and this is SO much better than a squeaky metal kennel. It is very versatile because of the openings on multiple sides. I had purchased a used crate 15 years ago and it is still in perfect condition. Now I am obtaining a new dog and looked at the different brands. We have had Petmate crates in past; however this is the first we have ordered on line. The bottom tray is a very cheap tin material that makes noise when our dog walks on it. It was also very bent when we opened the box and I had to smooth it out – not very sturdy. Some of the bars were also bent but we made do. The construction other than the pan is good – however, we had an immediate need for crating during the day so sending it back or waiting for a replacement was not an option.Lefty

I had purchased this crate and I had found the design exactly what I was looking for. So I have bought 2 more and I plan to purchase 2 more soon. I would not choose another brand or style by the same manufacturer because it performs just as I need. My only suggestions are that the crate has a 4 door option and that the tray can be optionally removed from the side. My only complaint is that the instructions to set up the crate were not clear. This pet crate is extremely sturdy, which is especially important at our dog rescue. It works for a medium to large dog, but has three Chihuahuas romping around in it at the present time. I am very happy that I got the 49" size so there is more room. More room is good, very good in deed.marysp

We bought a larger crate 6 months ago that housed 3 small dogs and 2 cats for 3 days while we drove across country. For several months the 3 dogs shared it at night (the cats found another place to sleep). Recently, we decided to separate the 2 older dogs from the younger and bought 2 of the medium sized crates. The "travel crate" was folded and put away in the laundry room for the next time we travel with all our babies, and we stacked the 2 medium crates. Even stacked, these crates have good strength and a solid build. I can't say enough about how exceptional these crates are and the divider is great when needing to separate pets in a pinch.mslubner

I did some research on the Variocage dog crate. I recall they crash tested it for all 3 types of crashes. It showed several of the straps breaking, and I thought that was a bad sign. But according to info from a video posted below, the straps are only designed to keep the crate oriented in the rear of your car prior to the collision, after that the straps can break, but the crate is designed to protect effectively. The angled part of the crate abutting the rear seat disperses the force of a rear end collision over the largest surface as opposed to a square regular crate which contacts the rear seat at the point of its corner. The corners of the crate where the dog doors are (I bought a 2 dog medium crate) are blunted- that is to conform to the crumple zone of the back of your car in case of rollover- thus creating its own crumple zone. Lastly the telescoping bars allow force to be absorbed, but still protect your dog inside. The Swedish designers have outdone themselves, The cost is around $1,100 but you get what you invest in. If your goal is to get one of the safest crates for your dog, Variocrate ranks among the top 3 in my research. I picked it over the other choices because it fit into the rear of my vehicle the best. I had very good assistance before purchasing regarding size — of my dogs and of my car–and ended up with a Large Double for two English Labradors. It's a good size for them and fits just perfectly in my Subaru Outback. I found the assembly not too difficult (the video on the website helps to supplement the paper instruction sheet). The dogs have plenty of room but the space is smaller than what they are used to, so I left it set up in the house for several days so they could practice going in and out. They both seem very comfortable riding in it, and I LOVE having them safely contained — especially when they are wet (and/or muddy) from swimming. I also like that it doesn't hinder visibility for driving very much – something I was worried about when I started looking at some other crates.Robin R.

I like the Variocage products. I have the Variogate and divider In our other car. However, positioning some components to get proper bolt alignments was very challenging on this assembly. One side flange of the rear lower panel was so far out of alignment that it had to be bent to fit. Other components required clamps to achieve alignment for bolts. If I had time to wait for replacement parts, I know that they would have been gladly provided. Since I was so far along with assembly, I decided to soldier on. Wondering if we were sold a used unit. Missing 3 of the 4 rubber feet the one was already attached. Video shows they shoukd be in a bag and how to install. All 4 corner top supports were there 2 were in plastic bag that was ripped open previously and other 2 were in bottom of crate. Looks like part of the paint was worn off on the corners were the supports go. One of the sliding doors squeals as you slide it closed. Couldn't return it as we sold our previous crate already. Tried to call the manufacturer as it states do not call store have not heard back after 5 messages to them.Brad63126

The packaging of this item was very good. There is a plastic tray in the bottom of the cage, but it is well protected in the box. I took out the crate and it was all one piece, except for the divider. I laid it on the floor and unlatched the obvious clips that were holding the crate in a flat position. There are instructions that come with this crate, but it was so easy to figure out how to fasten the sides, I did not need them. I did review the instructions after and they are very easy to follow and understand. The crate wiring is very sturdy. I have a 45 lb Springer Spaniel and he has no chance of bending the wiring. The latches will not shake open. They fold over and my dog would have to be a magician to open them. There are two entry points. On large area on the lengthy side. And a slider set of doors on the wide side. Both sides have the same type of latches. The tray is very sturdy plastic and can be cleaned very easily. The crate comes with a divider. It is made of the same wiring material. Very sturdy. I only have one dog, so I won't be using it. But it is easy to install. The weight of the crate is not too bad. It comes with a handle on top, but the width of the crate is a bit large to be carrying around far. It is mainly used for repositioning. You won't pick up the crate with your pet inside. But it makes it easy for lifting into my van without my dog inside. I cannot think of any really bad things about this crate. It is a very quality item. Very easy to use. Very easy to fold and stow away when not in use. All in one piece. To get my dog used to using it, I put some treats in the crate. He went right in and was checking it out. Springers love to be in a cave, so I put a blanket over the top and he enjoys his privacy 🙂Charlie

I really like my Lucky Dog Sliding Door Dog Crate. I am disabled so I thought I would have to have someone help me assemble it. But the hardest thing about putting it together was getting it out of the box. Once it was out, it literally took me less than a minute and that was without instructions. It was so easy to see what needed to be done: lift one wall, lift the ceiling and the other wall falls into place. One end has a door with three lift and slide type handles. You can use one, two, or all three. And the front has the sliding door which is nice for a larger animal or for putting the bed in, etc. There is a heavy duty plastic bottom so you don’t have to worry about puppy accidents. There are also plastic sleeves to go on four corners on the bottom to keep it from being fully in contact with the floor, so there’s air flow underneath. This would also protect the floor in the case of the crate moving during use. They also included four corner protectors so that you don’t bang into a sharp edge and injure yourself or damage something. Good thinking. And a really nice feature is the wire wall that locks into place if desired, making the crate a haven for 2 animals or a smaller space for a smaller dog- for instance a puppy that would be overwhelmed by such a large crate now but would need every inch of it later. No need to buy 2 crates- just insert the divider wall now and remove it when the dog has grown enough to use the space. And if I don’t need to use the crate or I need to store it, it folds flat just as it came. Brilliant! I’m sold on this crate! Only downfall is my dog is exposed to whatever is going on around him so I would have preferred to have had this to begin with. I was so excited about the fantastic sales price on the crates! Ordered an i Crate in the large size, before I did the research. After research I realized I ordered the lowest-grade crate, not what I wanted. Tried to cancel the order to reorder the higher-grade Ultima Pro. After two calls, they did send a cancel through to see if it would work. (It didn't.) I didnt want to risk waiting and missing the sale so I ordered the Ultima Pro, had to be medium, because large was out of stock. Just opened it and, like others, got one that can't even be put together because it's so out of square. It can't even be bent into place it's so bad. This is one reason I HATE buying online. The only good part is I can at least return it to the local Petco instead of having to ship it back.Lotsa animals here

My dog loves her new crate. She out grew the first one we purchased . This one gives her all the room she needs to stretch out and sleep. I was very impressed with the quality of this crate versus the quality of the first crate. This new crate has superior strength . No rattling. It is sturdy and strong. This is a nice looking crate and it is substantial. It is also easy to move around. The main problem with it is that the clips to open and close the doors are annoyingly difficult. Also the side garage style door is difficult to operate as well. Sometimes I just leave the top open and take my little schnauzer out the top – it's easier.Joyce

Very hard to use. Clips and clamps are very poorly made. Aside from the fact that I've asked for refund and donated them, I did try to utilize them to no avial. I purchsed the large one and a small one. The garage door + top door feature is cool, but the locking mechanisms are very difficult to use. Terrible choice if you have arthritis! I just purchased this carrier, and am not impressed. The handles keep coming out of their slots, resulting in the crate dropping from my grasp. Luckily, my dog wasn\'t in the crate when I was carrying it. Otherwise, she would have been dropped numerous times. I can\'t understand why the handles are designed this way. First a foremost, I was really upset that I had to shell out over a hundred bucks for a dog cage. But since we have a brute escape artist that kept destroying her old kennel and hurting herself during the process. With this kennel, it has stopped all escapes, no signs of giving or stress. She's made it her home even when she doesn't need to be there.it comes with removable caster wheels for easy relocation, or take them off and leave it stationary while cutting a few inches off the overall height,The door is easily removable and attaches back on in a matter of a few seconds. We were worried about the meshed ground and her getting her toes caught in it, but I comes with a removable tray that's meant for the bottom, but we placed it over and that's her floor. The tree is just a tad under 5 foot. Not a problem for our little living room. The LED lights can be very bright–but you can unplug the LED lights! It still has 8 different light mod's even with the LED's unpluged. The longer branches on the bottom will not hold heavy ornaments. Light weight ornaments and garland is fine. It really is pretty even with out ornaments. The fiber optics make it a very colorful tree, even in the day time. The LED's are to brite for our liking. Not a problem for us we just unpluged them! Hey it's a 60 dollar tree. We are happy with it. You will have to fold down all of the branches they are not hinged like some of the higher dollar trees. It filled out nice!
