My friend got her one of these. She loved it. We would tell her to go get her guy. And this was always who she chose. She loved him. We lost him in a move. I got her a new one. Now normally, it takes her a bit to get acclimated to a new toy. Nope! Ordered him, opened the box and he was torn from my hand. She was JOYOUS to get her guy again.Bunkysmom

Purchased toys for both my daughters dogs and mine for several years now, repeat shopper. dog.com sends merchandise quickly, well packaged. I have never found any defects. Their prices are unbeatable. This Kong toy, octopus dog toy is very sturdy and my 2 matipoos enjoy playing with it. My dogs are 12 lbs each and moderate chewers. Its nice to find a toy that I can grab and they can play tug of war without having something too rough on their mouths. I have have great experience with Kong toys, sturdy and enjoyable items. the only thing I would mention, is that I ordered Large, even though my dogs are 12 lbs, because it was recommended by Dog.com that this toy runs small; they were correct…the toy is perfect in Large for my dogs. Will order from Dog.com and Kong again for the doggies !Barbara

My miniature labradoodle bit off the top the day after we received it, did not last. Not what I expected from a Kong toy. Hesitant to spend the money on another Kong for her after this failed purchase.KristinaM

We thought this toy would be really fun for our labs and a great way to entertain them. The older one doesn't care for it. Our younger one keeps getting her jaw stuck in the teeth of the toy trying to get any treats we put in, and then it slices up her bottom jaw. We've had to stop using it for food dispensing and only for playing with.ESho

You needed a bigger size. Generally, I would recommend sizing up once or twice anyway. The smaller ones are too small and not as thick of material therefore easier for any size dog to tear up. Additionally, if the toy isn’t full of snacks, take it away. Don’t let them chew on the toy itself just as a chew toy. That is another reason why the toy may get damaged. If the dog is focused on getting the snack out, they’ll be much less focused on destructive behaviors and tearing things apart. If you have a puppy, remember they teethe and it HURTS. They self sooth by chewing. Give them things it’s okay to chew on/destroy like Nyla bones (which seriously last forever even in strong determined breeds). Last thing to mention, is that if you really want to go with indestructible, prefer something that’ll keep them busy for a lot longer periods of time, then get the weighted feeder kong balls. I put some dog food into ours along with some soft small very strong smelling treats and my dogs work on this for HOURS. It’s how they get their meals or at least part of their meal each day. You can fed the whole meal this way if you want. They come in different sizes but the biggest size has worked perfectly for all of my dogs (weights range from 35 to 150lbs). They knock it over and the snack or treat falls out of a little hole. Then they keep working on it little by little, it’s really a great option for keeping them distracted! Just be sure to take it away when they’re not using it anymore so they don’t learn to guard it. This is true with any toy, treat, bone, or food. Offer a few times a day then take away when they’re no longer interested. Free feeding is one of the worst habits to start and makes it difficult for owners to tell quickly when something is off with their pet. I learned this the hard way! (Google this if you don’t believe me) I would still consider these Kong balls to be indestructible IF you use them properly. I have huge, strong dogs, a sharp toothed and very busy heeler and both have had theirs for 4 years without incident and not even a puncture mark into either one. I filled with “mini” milk bones and broken in half “small” milk bones but just read another reviewer said they freeze theirs with pnut butter and treats inside. Sounds messy but sounds like a great idea! Cant wait to try! Hope this helps!Momzymo

Amazing! Amazing at entertainment for my dog. Love how we can stick big treats in there and keep him busy whenever we have to leave the house. I think it's a must for training your dog. Be sure to replace it whenever there is damage. As I know a friend's dog had a piece of Kong stuck in his intestine and had to get surgery to remove it. So best to keep the toy until you notice any wear or tear. I like how it has multiple sizes and has really good durability.. this is a really good investment for your dog! We have found many creative ways to entertain our husky/German shep/malamute mutt who has high energy and high affinity to treats. 10/10 would recommend. There's also some Kong specific treats you can find meant to fit into the toy to make it very difficult for the dog to remove it. We like that there is a lot of creative ways to use it. We had two on rotation for when our puppy was teething and needed a lot of attention. Frozen treats allowed for the pup to work on the kong. We use it at home mainly but we do bring it over to our friends house when our dog is staying the night because we are out of town. It's just another tool they can use if they find he needs to calm down and focus instead of rambunctious and playing.terri.n

This is the old classic rubber Kong dog toy. I have the regular size and the small size for my boxer and for my Boston terrier. Its shape causes it to bounce in random directions. My dog absolutely loves this toy. I've put everything in that thing. I have broken up some single ingredient treats and stuffed them in Kong. We refer to my dogs as having ADHD, or a very SHORT attention span, but not with this toy they absolutely love it!! . I put treats as well as peanut butter bananas or yogurt then put them in the freezer. The freezing slows down their ability to clean out the inside quickly so the game lasts a little longer. The rubber is hard enough so they cannot chew through it yet soft on their teeth and gums. The hole is large enough to easily fill the inside as well as wash out the inside after use. Definitely buy multiples so that there are some in the freezer ready to go on those hot days or on those days that you just need a little time to get something done while your dog is occupied. All in all I completely recommend these toys for all dogs of any shape and size.Ysabel

My German Shepherd x Malinois LOVES these balls the most. I bought several different styles to trial with her, as she is very fussy when it comes to her toys. She doesn't like the Kong frisbees which are too heavy and don't give her time to fly into the air to catch them – they plop to the ground too quickly, unlike our plastic ones which are brilliant at flying, but wear out more quickly – can't win! But the Kong balls on the other hand, we find are terrific. This is my third time buying these, only because we lost one and she won't let go of the one I bought her last week, so I am hoping that with another one, she'll learn to let go and stop being such a ball hog. She has baby Velociraptor teeth, so her will usually destroy all toys over time (some quicker than others) even though she's not a destructive dog by nature – just in terms of general wear-and-tear from chewing and play, but these balls for some reason, do last (the squeaker in them doesn't though – it's dead in a day, thank goodness, as it does drive me nuts when she's biting on it all day long and it's squeaking the heck out of the house – so that's actually a plus for her human hahaha). I think depending on the dog, you'll find different reviews, but this product is definitely a winner in our household at least and though a bit pricey for what it is, it's still the better option compared to others we've trialed.Jo

This toy is the BEST THING EVER. I didn’t know it squeaked until after we started playing with it and OH BOY we have had loads of fun with it ever since. My dogs love this ball so much that I’m getting another one because they constantly fight over it! It’s a great ball for fetch as well as a great chew toy. I’ve had it for quite a few months now and it’s still in REALLY GOOD condition. I don’t usually write reviews but this product is 10/10. I bought one of these (in a size large, not sure if the sizing has anything to do with the issue) about 4 months ago and it has lasted really really well! The only reason I decided to replace it was because for some reason the squeaker stopped working. I think my dog may have punctured a hole in it or something. That being said, I didn't have any issues that these other negative reviews have said happened to them and my dog destroys EVERYTHING. He gets his little mouth on a seam or a defect or anything like that and he goes to town until it is in pieces in minutes. So, like I said the large ball lasted 4 months.. but I just bought him an XL ball and received it today. It's been… about 4 hours now and he has almost completely torn the middle out of the ball! I think this must be a manufacturing issue more than anything because our other ball has treated us well. I hope this problem gets fixed, because I really LOVE this ball!Jenni0126

Well, I like the size and it does the job, however, I thought I was getting "pink" and instead I got blue/green. I wanted pink for visibility/contrast for the dog's vision, as I intend to use this toy for dock diving. Very disappointed that I didn't get the pink.stacey

I love the Kong knots -Mr. Fox and Mr. Bunny lasted a couple weeks and are still going. We also have the Kong wild nights monkey and he’s been around for a few weeks and he still going strong. So I ordered the King Willd Knots flamingo and he already has a hole in his head and he’s only been in the house for three minutes. Would not recommend if your dog is a chewer.Pork loin

We bought this toy at walmart for 1.99. My dog LOVES it!!…well loved it…it squeaks. He carried it everywhere. Until it tore apart and was no good anymore. It lasted about 4 days. He was not rough or violent with it, but for a cheap toy, what do you expect? so it is not durable, but cheap and a good time for your dog for a few days at least. these are only about 6 inches tall. Kongs are great dog toys, unless you have serious chewers in your four-legged family. The holes in this biscuit ball make it easier for extreme chewers to tear apart. On the other side, it's a good option to keep your canine busy if you aren't worried about destruction. Try filling with peanut butter versus treats for longer lasting entertainment.jessica.b

My dog loves this ball whether I put treats in it or not. She destroys tennis balls and anything breakable. This ball is thick hard rubber material that withstands her hard play. She will play by herself with this ball during her down times during the day. Bella is a mid sized English Shepherd and this sized ball is perfect for her. I have a English Lab and this would be his 3rd Kong toy. I have: 1. The old fashioned Kong (looks sort of like a michelin man in red) 2. The Small solid Red Kong Ball. I liked the idea of the hollow ball, because Mirrors, etc. have been broken from the solid ball. Well, about 3 hours after I gave Major this ball, he had eaten the bone holes into round circles, and on his way to eating the whole ball. Not a Good Product If you dog has good teeth! Bought this for my rat after his cage mate passed away for some enrichment. He loves playing with it and is really interested in it but he's had it for less than 24 hours and has already destroyed it. The rubber isn't rat proof and he's chewed it to bits to get the treats out. It was quite expensive for less than a days worth of entertainmentBee

These things are great except for the fact that Ferrets are chewers with serious teeth and a digestive system that has risks of blockages. My baby LOVES these (I have tried different sizes). It is soft enough to chew, but not easy to tear at first. The main problem is the little nipple at the top, with a little work it will come right off and the rubber doesn't hold up well to sanding of the slice of a utility knife, so can't really remove this part. DON'T let them play with this without supervision and a daily inspection before and after play – unless you want that trip to the vet due to a blockage. Love the BABIES, but safety first!!John

The toy is durable to handle our Bichon Frise puppy’s constant chewing and is the right size for him to carry it around with him. We have been a little dab of organic peanut butter inside the toys and raises the fun factor ten fold. I would highly recommend this toy. We will look into a bigger toy once he grows into an adult. I use this to serve my puppy his Kong Ziggy treats. It helps him grip the treat with his paws. I have not tried stuffing it with gooey things that the manufacturer suggests because I don't want that mess being dragged around the house. However it works fine with the Ziggy treats. By far this has become my pups 2nd favorite toy (her first, as she seems to be taking after her sister who passed away before Paisley even came home, is her Lamb Chop). Within seconds of me opening this from the packaging, she was playing with it WITHOUT anything in it … it is a perfect softness (yet strong enough) to soothe her teething. Then I rubbed some all natural peanut butter in it and LOOK OUT … the minute I grab the toy, she's whimpering with excitement and then spends a good hour concentrating on getting the peanut butter out, loving every minute of it. This would really be beneficial for dogs with separation anxiety or rowdy puppies that you need to calm down if you're in the middle of something. And even greater for teething pups who will latch onto anything (even what they're not supposed to) because it keeps their focus for a long, long time!
