Our fur baby is almost 11 years old, a diabetic, and his little legs aren’t the best. I couldn’t wait to receive this bed for him. He is short, but around 25 lbs, and this bed was a bit easier for him to get in and out of, compared to the one he had. The orthopedic comfy memory foam joint relief bolster dog bed is very well made, and the material on the bolster edges seems like it would last a long time, and not get holes as easily as a cloth bed would. When it’s time to wash it, just remove the cover and throw it in your washing machine. So far he seems to be enjoying his new bed. After washing (which is required often because it's black), it is a two person job to get the foam back in. I have ordered MANY dog beds in my lifetime but this one is the WORST one of all!! Why? The top "zip in" filler for the "armrest" is impossible to completely insert. I have YET to completely zip it in without nearly losing my breath because of the tugging, pulling, stretching, while TRYING to move the zipper! My dog loves her new this is a size Medium but there wasn’t that option to select on Influenster. The bed comes just like those beds in a box that expand once you take them out. It says it can take up to 3 days before it’s fully expanded but it seemed to expand completely within an hour or two. The cover is removable to wash. For reference my dog is 23 pounds and a Mini Schnauzer. The bed is perfect for her size. This is a well made dog bed. Easy to put together, very comfortable for my dog, stays cleaner than other dog beds, easy to remove and wash. I have a labrador retriever and initially got the large size, but exchanged it for the jumbo. The large size was a good size, but upon watching him sleep, i found out he likes to stretch out. Yes the jumbo size is very large and requires a lot of space in your room, but it is worth it to see him stretch out or curled up in his very comfy bed. A little pricey but he is worth it. I tried other beds and they are of inferior quality and won't last long. I highly recommend it. For your reference my dog is about 73 Lbs and measured 40 inches when laying down and lightly curled. It didn't take long however for him to shred the fuzzy part, which went all over the place. Everywhere I looked, I'd find bits of it. My 13 year old, 60-pound shepherd-collie mix has never been willing or interested in sleeping in a dog bed in her life. I have tried and failed in this a few times, but her stiffness in the morning after sleeping on the floor broke my heart and I decided to try again. This bed (size Large) is probably a bit larger than she needs, but she loves it! No bribery needed. She walked right onto it to explore and then to lie down, and it is now her 'go to' place to nap and sleep all night. The first time she used it, I sat next to her on the floor to give her lots of praise, and she just kept licking my hand and giving me kisses to say thank you! My Lab loves this bed! It's her second. The first one lasted several years. I was happy that I could find it again. She weighs 80 lbs and the medium size is perfect for her. It is very well made and durable. The bolster is deep and firm, but still comfy for resting her head on it and the fleece covered bed gives good support. I wouldn't mind having one for myself! The only thing I wish is that it was easier to get the removable cover back on after washing.Maureen

Although I did not keep the one I ordered, I still think it os a great product. My 8 year old shih tzu is arthritic and needed a better bed. This is a very firm bed. It would best fit a dog above 40 pounds or so. My girl only weighs 20 and it was just too firm fir her. It is well made, good zippers and removeable washable cover. You can wash the outside of the bed fan but the inside is a paper bag filled with chopped up foam that can't be washed. i dont about everyione but I'll bet there goes outside and gets stinky. why would you sell a bed without a serviceable liner in it. I am thinking about throwing the inside bag away and buying another bed from a dufferent company that i can put inside that can be washed. The problem is that dog loves it ir i would throw it away. i have resirted to putting a large garbage bag over the stinky part so she can still use it until I can do better. To much work. This probably isn’t the review you’d expect, but my daughter LOVES this bed. When she was a few months old, we went on a family vacation and in lieu of spending $180 for a DockATot, we purchased this instead. This bed has literally been her obsession since that trip. Any time she sees it (even when I bring it downstairs to wash), she starts panting like a dog and rushes over to try and lay on it. We used it past the vacation and put it into her crib at home. She’s 20 months old now, and we’re trying to transition her to a toddler bed, but she keeps tossing and turning all night because she loves this dang dog bed so much and her regular toddler mattress just isn’t good enough for her. I came here to figure out what the minky fabric is that covers this darn bed so I can buy a fitted sheet of the same/similar texture to try and appease her and figured I would leave a review while I was here. We bought an extra when she was in daycare because she was having a rough time during nap time. It shrunk in size! Very disappointed in this purchase. They are making them smaller and the height is only 6 in compared to what the dimensions on the site saying 8 inches tall, they should be careful about that. I had reservations on buying an 'expensive' bed for my dog, but with a recent gift certificate, I decided to go for it. My dog, a Jack Russell, is picky about her beds so I didn't know how she would react to a new one. After checking this bed over throughly, she hopped into it and hasn't looked back. She loves it! She's 5 1/2 years old and since she spends her days in my kitchen, I decided to get her something that would give her good support. My happy Jack, is 20 lbs. I was concerned that this size bed might be too small for her size. I sized it before I purchased it, but sometimes things look differently in person. This bed is a perfect size for her. It gives her enough room to move around, and the bolster part keeps her in place. I have old dogs (15, 16 & 16). They are set in their ways, and I have purchased many, many (many!) failed dog beds that looked heavenly to me but like a pile of nails to my dogs. Not so this bed–they LOVE IT. The cover comes off easily, goes back on easily, and it washes up well. Yes the large bed takes up lots of floor but it also keeps the dogs out from underfoot and I consider that an acceptable trade-off. It has been so successful that I am now purchasing a new bed (large or medium) to donate to every online auction of the breed I support, a twice a year event.Sally H
The photo and description seemed to be exactly what I was looking for for our 10 yr old dobie and the price was OK but I am very disappointed with this bed. The bed itself is flimsy and not the quality I was expecting. The foam is not 3 inches deep it is approximately 2 – 2 1/4 inches and does not feel or look like medical grade orthopedic foam – it is not dense/heavy. The bolstered sides seem to be OK except, again, not dense. As far as high grade soft velvet and super soft micro fleece, it is soft but certainly not high grade. I bought this for my lab-ish dog who is getting up there in years and isn't as comfortable on the floor. She LOVES it! It is big enough that she can sleep in a ball or stretch all the way out. The memory foam in the bottom takes 24 hours to expand before it goes in the bed. it is so thick and high quality. My dog likes to lay her head on things when she sleeps, so the bolster around the edges is really handy. My smaller dogs like to share it. I am really pleased with the bed, so are the dogs!Kaitlyn
Very thick padding on bottom of bed. It is actually several inches thick. Even with me sitting in it, I can't feel the floor. I think this would be great for older dogs due to the thick padding on base. The padding comes separate from the bed and when you unroll it, it increases in size. To assemble it, you just zip it in the bottom. The bottom base is rectangular and covers the whole entire bed at the bottom so no part of your dog is ever touching the hard ground. The bed is surrounded by thick bolsters and pretty flexible that the sides will move out if you dog wants to curl up or if they touch against the sides. My dog likes to use the side cushions as a head rest. I got the medium size for my dog who is a ~33lbs Shiba Inu. He's pretty big for his breed but it fits him perfectly when he decides to roll up in it and also he likes sleeping in it with his head up. Overall, its a great dog bed for a dog that likes to be snugged up and I think would be very supportive if your dog had hip/joint issues. My dog loves this orthopedic bed! We've tried a lot of different beds, but he loves the extra big cushions on this one. My dog is small (about 8 pounds), but I opted for this Medium size for him to be able to stretch out when laying on his side. It feels really high-quality, but still lightweight enough to move around the house. My dog likes to lounge in it during the day, but also snuggles up in it at night! Great mat but it showed and I had to open it and fully allow it to rise before we noticed it was not the correct size. I had measured and it seems this one is not the correct size. Weird as I order all the time. The box did not have the size or identification on it for me to confirm prior to opening. We kept it as it is a lovely mat but it is one size too small for our pup's crate.
This seems to be a good dog bed. Be prepared…. it takes 3 to 4 days for it to “fluff up”. It comes rolled up and it was really flat considering the specifications said it was 4” high! Letting it set to fluff it took about 3 days for it to become 4” high. The cover is a bit loose but does not bother my girl, she really likes her new bed. I feel this bed was worth the money, she spends more time on her new bed than she did on her old one.Linda
We purchased 2 xl beds. They came wrapped in plastic and vacuum sealed. The directions said they should fully expand in 24 to 72 hours. We are on day 5, and one of the beds is almost fully expanded, but the 2nd bed is still very squished in the center and corners. We are following the directions and shaking them several times a day. Im beginning to think the 2nd bed may have to be returned/replaced. I will give it a couple more days, but it dosent look like it has made any progress in the last couple days.Brenda101

This is my second recent purchase of a dog bed by PetMaker, and I've ordered a third. The orthopedic foam is firm and dense enough to provide excellent support at a reasonable mid-range price. If your dog prefers to nestle into a fluffy bed, this is not the bed for that. If you're expecting memory foam that allows the dog's body to sink into the foam and conforms around the dog's body, this is not the bed for that. This is an orthopedic foam bed that will support the dog's weight and provide cushioning and comfort on a hard floor or crate. Dogs with mobility issues may have an easier time getting on and off this type of bed because they won't sink into it and struggle to get out. The foam does need a few days to fully decompress and reach three inches in height. The cover has an almost velvety finish, and the fabric is on the thinner side. So if your dog tends to maul the bed, you may want to look elsewhere for a tougher fabric (or train your dog not to maul the bed). Based on my initial impression, this dog bed seems to be of good quality and should last a good while.RottnPittieMom
The touted medical-caliber foam is exaggerative; I've used shipping foam that was sturdier. I have similar beds I purchased a decade ago at half the price from another major warehouse discount store that are four times better than these. The color was pleasing but that's about it. I looked at the specifications which said they're 5.50 H & took a chance, but the 3 H is accurate. I bought the Jumbo for a dog close to 100 lbs the size was fine but the thickness is no where near adequate for a big dog.shouffre
Wow; does Nicki absolutely LOVE her new bed!! I've literally searched forever for an Ortho bed/pillow for my Rottie/Lab mix. She's a large, heavy – but beautiful girl – who was rescued during a animal cruelty seizure. The reason I mention this is that she'd been physically abused (while pregnant before turning 5 months!) and she has, as a result, bad hips & sore leg joints. In other words, it's painful for her to sleep on the hard floors inside & the deck outside. Our existing large pillow-type bed basically had a giant dent in "her spot" and provided virtually no padding. This Ortho Pillow has NOT dented, not shredded from her digging before lying down, is super easy to clean AND moves from inside to out on the deck with us.
