I don’t love this cover. There is nothing to hold it onto the crate so it slips about. I am going to sew some ties onto the bottom to help keep it in place. I do like the option to open different parts of the cover for different doors on the crate. The pattern is nice and also.Little cat dog

The cover was just as I expected. Light weight, durable and easy to care for. The oy recommendation I can .American is to add velcro/hook&loop fasteners to keep the top of the cover in place. This would prevent the occupant from chewing and keep the cover in place. The for is drab but it gives the crate a dark den appearance so the occupationt is calm and content. The price is right and enaes the economical purchase of several.Wudbuchr

I have found over the years that animals naturally respond favorably to a darkened environment. They are more relaxed and calm. Babies in a crate with natural, artificial, even greatly reduced lighting remain alert, peering into the darkness. They often whine, whimper, or bark, but cover the crate and within minutes, they unwind and are off to sleep. For this reason, I have put dark cloth or a blanket over my crates. These covers make it so much easier, and they don't shift or hang on the floor. They look tidier and I can vacuum around the crate without catching the cover.Zuwadi

Bought this for our 7 month old Pyrador puppy, who has already outgrown one house. It was easy to put together, and the sturdist dog house we've ever seen. Plus being insulated is perfect for a cold Indiana winter. She's huge and still growing and loves it. The first night she slept in front of it despite dog treats inside. Second night was cooler, she decided to check it out so the head and front paws went thru the swinging door first, and after she had stood that way for about 5 minutes, walked all the way in, and has loved it ever since. From the size if it unless she grows as much as Clifford the big red dog, she'll get to enjoy for a lifetime.PJ

We got this house for a new Boxador puppy so that it can spend most of its time outside. We found it to be a good product. It was easy to put together and does stay much warmer than the outside air. In rainy weather, it stays dry. It is a very large house which would work for a lab or other large dog. No problems with the dog using the door. Only suggestion: add nuts and bolts for the 6 screws. Screwing metal into plastic is not a real good plan. I'm assuming the company will have replacement parts (door, window, etc…) available for my investment!Y Robinson

Truly a nice furniture kennel. Bought it without reviews, so took a chance. One of the containers was destroyed in shipment, but it’s packed with styrofoam all around so no damage! The locking mechanism seems sturdy. The bars seem sturdy. The boards are strong. The instructions are pictures, but easy to follow along with. My dogs are well behaved in kennel, so not sure how it will stand up with one who’s not. Overall, I’d recommend it!MML

This kennel is a must have especially if you have an energetic puppy like I do. We use it when she gets overstimulated from playing. It’s a nice safe retreat for her. We have a powerfully built 40 pound mutt who can muscle her way out of her old crate by popping the single latched door open. We had to add an extra clip to the door to keep her in the crate, which is a pain getting the clip on and off to let her in and out. She can’t gorse the door on this crate open due to the double latches AND the extra “hook” on the tip that holds the latches in place. My little bulldozer can’t open this crate by force and go counter surfing, much to her dismay.TKettle

I love Hayneedle, but the company that made this fence should have sent instructions; and the gate should have been assembled instead of coming in different strands of wire. We never did get it together, the wires were different sizes and bent. We finally made our on wire to put on the gate. Hayneedle was very understanding about the way we received this product.Ruby

Overall good product that meets the needs of our pup. It is helpful to have more then two people to apply the chain link to the frame. Also the wire pieces provided to secure the chainlink to the frame are a heavy gauge wire, very hard to bend. We used heavy zip ties , made the job much easier /faster.SRS7503

The picture is very false. Expected it to be in panels to put together. EZ it says EZ it's not. Came in pieces including having to put frame together then wrap chain link around like putting a fence up. So it is not EZ when there is one person and a 10x 10×5 comes in a 5 by 15×12 inch box. Very, very disappointed. To return I would have to pay for $50-$100 shipping. Had to paid someone to put together. Very deceiving. Would never recommend.Linda

There is a warning on this product to only start the screws with a power screwdriver. My advice is to use a hand screwdriver ONLY. The holes are drilled too large for the size screws that are used where even tightening by hand will strip the hole. Also, the many of the holes where the screws are hidden by plastic plugs are drilled too large where I had to shim the holes to get the plugs to stay in. Sad, because the design is attractive and the size is perfect for our dog. So long as it stays in one place, it shouldn't loosen up. However if I do see it loosening, I will simply disassemble it, apply wood glue to the joints and screw it back together with clamps until the glue dries. The manufacturer should be held accountable by LTDC for correcting these issues!BobD8487

I guess I should have figured it was poor quality with the price.As other sites were more but they seemed bigger so tried but not a good choice.The holes didn’t all line up. A couple started to split. Didn’t use power drill like recommended probably would have destroyed it. Back panels are a very thin and if pushed on by dog will break or pop out. Latch doesn’t stay closed so dog could figure out how to slide it open. And if using in house as end table anything you put on it will scratch it or spot it. Looks cheap.The pressed board pieces have a dull & shiny side which all don’t match. Going to have to repaint it with a paint that will hold up and maybe a piece of real wood or veneer on top to make it look presentable. Not happy and was told if you had to return it I would have to pay shipping! No more ordering on line or from this company.Lyn10

Purchased the dog crate because it seemed functional but attractive. The crate actually is finished nicely. But as we were putting it together we realized one of the back panel was not included. At that point we had the crate almost completed. I called Lakeside to inform them. They had me to take apart the crate, box it and send it back to them. They told me they would then send a replacement crate after they received the defective crate. I only needed one back panel. They informed me that they could not send just a part. Seems they made me jump through hoops to resolve this situation. I won't buy anything else from Lakeside that has parts or needs to be assembled.Minnie2069

Got this for a large dog to recover from surgery. Not as strong as a large welded wire portable kennel. It does allow more room to stretch out than the large portable kennel. If your animal needs room to move around, this may be a good kennel. Not super sturdy. Walls will moved out since they are connected with brackets (two each panel). May not be escape proof. No attached floor. Fitted tarp cover is nice. There are no cheap kennels out there. This one was priced okay and shipped free to my door. It was packaged well.CheapTX Guy

This is an extremely sturdy kennel and of high quality. Very easy to assemble. I assembled it myself and completely finished it took me about an hour and a half. The only downside is this kennel doesn't come with anchors that go in the ground to give it that extra firm support, however it doesn't appear to need it, as the kennel is extremely sturdy without them. I received my dog cage on schedule and the set up was easy as well, this is a great product for a smaller animal,the next morning my dog( German Shepard ) was at my front door. I took him back to the cage and had to work out of town which I paid a friend to dog sit. I come home to find out that my dog ha broke it! He had broken off both hinges from 1 side.guwop-41

Very happy with my purchase. Purchased 52" Kennel (just over 4ft tall) -Punctual Shipping, box arrived in tact -Box suggest 2 person to lift (was not bad for a 1 person female) -Instructions were simple, my door/gate swings out opposite from image on the page. Image for assembling the roof part was sub-par, as the image did not zoom out enough to give a visual, but includes a support bar that runs perpendicular to the 2 arches (visualize the letter 'T' when assembling) -Overrall assembly is easy, no tools required/needed (will work harder getting the box open) -2 person useful when moving assembled kennel to permanent location (or do it alone and get some light cardio when going back & forth to each side) -Bought this for a Doberman as I don't presume he'll walk around on 2 legs in the kennel! Lubricant spray for the screws, as this will regularly be exposed to the elements outside.CD

This is a good size dog pen. My biggest complaint is that the wires on the door were not fully secured to the base of the door and my 30 lbs dog was able to pull them away enough when he was testing the wires that he got out. I attempted to contact the manufacture per the instructions that came with the parts, but no one has ever contacted me back. SO I would say this would be great for a lazy dog that does not test cages, and as long as you do not have problems and need to contact the manufacture you should be great. But for $140 I kind of expected the wires to be better secured or have better customer serviceAmy

We purchased this Kennel as an addition to our chicken coup. The construction is very sturdy, easy, and quick to assemble in many different configurations. The black powder coat finish holds up very well and cleans easily. The round tubing makes it easy for attaching to other surfaces or building panels with simple electrical conduit clamps, screwed into the opposite materials. I would definitely recommend this to any in need of a Kennel or other intentions, even secured storage.Thomas

I bought this through TSC. It arrived more than two WEEKS after the estimated arrival date. I understand this is due to the current quarantine, but it can't be that hard to change the website info to reflect reality. We picked up the kennel from the local store because home delivery was not an option. We got it to my house, unloaded the panels, and discovered one panel had damage. It had a bar twisted and broken away from the weld, and it had been that way long enough for rust to begin forming in the sheared patch, so SOMEONE should have noticed before handing it over. I needed this kennel RIGHT NOW because I am still living in an RV due to Hurricane Michael, and my 75-pound dog has to stay contained. If the kennel isn't functional, he has to be in the un-air conditioned RV. In direct sunlight. In Florida. I ordered the thing a month ago, and still can't have the use of it. But there has been no offer to replace the panel, refund the cost, or expedite the situation. Don't buy anything, AT ALL, from any California companies right now. They can't even open for emergency repairs.Daa of Night

We have tried many Kennels/Crates for our dog, she suffers from Anxiety and nothing has kept her as safe as this kennel. Any metal kennel, regardless of how indestructible it has advertised to be, we have come home to a scraped up bleeding dog that is out in the house and destroying things. She is a pitbull and she chews through anything. The kennels that are plastic with the metal grates on the side she chews on the door and breaks the metal on the sides and at this point has ruined her teeth. We have put her in the Ruff Land Performance kennel twice, once for two hours, great success and once for an entire day. She was calmer, and no blood or destruction to the crate. Wish I had seen this crate 9 years ago. Another feature we like is that it has a flat floor, rather than one that is either metal grating or has a few round circles protruding to allow stacking of kennels. We are amazed and so thankful to have this crate. I would recommend this crate to any dog owner. I can't say enough good about it.Diana B

I purchased this kennel about a month ago for a new pup. As a young dog in the back seat of the truck with two full grown Retreivers, I wanted to ensure she was safe and secure. The kennel is made of top notch materials, fits nicely on the back seat and is tied down to the child seat anchors. We tried the reinforced wire crates with no success. If he could get out, he would. The next step was possibly getting those ultra reinforced crates that cost almost a thousand dollars and almost require financing. This has been the perfect compromise. It’s sturdy and durable. It obviously has a little weight to it, but it’s definitely manageable. Hands down if something happens to this crate that isn’t caused by our dog, I’ll buy it again and again.Jennahboo92

Absolutely Horrible! It looks very nice, went together very easy. The gauge of the chain link wire is so soft that I can easily bend it by hand. Then, there are ALUMINUM ties that connect the bottom of the chain link to the pipes. The aluminum tires are softer than solder material!! My well mannered, smaller size dogs were able to get out within 10 minutes of building it and ruined the chain link!Megan K.

Good quality heavy duty cage for my Doberman puppy. The chewed the wires off the regular cage. Only concern is the tray goes under the metal grate at the bottom of the cage. Not good at all. He got his foot pad/toe caught in it. Also his collar caught in it. I forced the tray to go into the cage on top of the grate. Problem solved. Need to have an option of where to put it. Would recommend with supervision of your dog. No collars on when grate is not covered. Good tough cage. Neighbor bought same fir her bull dog puppy same age as my dobie. She likes it also. *The price was very reasonable and the size/construction was surprisingly sturdy. *As an added bonus, our cage has a side door that wasn't advertised. We almost didn't purchase this one since it appeared to only have the one door at the end. But our cage has a second door that swings out from the side panel. *We have always taken small (4" size) zip ties and secured the corners of our cages to provide added strength – in case dogs paw at the cage. I would still recommend zip ties although the cage seems to snap in place tightly. Of course, if you frequently fold down the cage, replacing zip ties can become cumbersome. *The plastic pan on the bottom is thinner than our last cage, but our dogs have not chewed or scratched at them previously, so this won't be a problem for us. *The carrying handle appears strong enough to lift the empty cage and will be useful. *Upper and lower slide latches are provided on each door. All latches have a rod bent at the end to help secure the latch. In the past, our dogs learned to shake the door until the latch slid over but this new design prevents the latch from sliding open.KYMom

I bought one of these and liked it so much that I just purchased another one. Both are the 42 inch size.I have 2 older 42 inch similar type kennels but they are a different brand and I paid a lot more for them. I think that the BestPet brand wire pet cage/crate/kennels are just as good as the more expensive ones that I have. In fact I was able to purchase two of the BestPet kennels for what I paid for one of the older kennels I have. I like the latches on the Best Pet kennels. They have a little "crook" on the end that prevents the latch from sliding open accidently. But it is easy for a human to open and close. I am an older woman and the kennels are easy for me to move around to the areas I desire to put them. They are sturdy, but easy to handle,and have the plastic slide out tray at the bottom for easy cleaning, I was unsure about this Brand at first because the price was so GOOD that I figured something had to be flawed with this kennel but I was very wrong. I do think it is a good idea to buy a couple of extra plastic trays or if you are crafty cut a piece of heavy duty plastic to have on hand when you change out a tray for cleaning. Plastic is just plastic so a heavy dog could cause damage to the tray .But the trays I got with my kennels are not flimsy at all. The kennel comes with a plastic handle that can be attached at the top. I live in a rural and at night the coyotes and other undesirable critters come out and I have had problems with Tom cats just mauling my young cats. So now I can put my kittens or young cats and puppies in kennels at night and I don't have to worry and fret about what is happening in the dark to them. Also, this will save me money in Vet bills. The cost of just one of the large kennels is about the cost of an office visit to the vet so I am very pleased to wake up each day and know that all of my "babies" are safe and happy. Included with the kennel is a wire divider that can be put in the kennel so you can keep pets separated from each other. I had one particular cat that had an injury that seemed to outsmart me and escape from any cage I tried to keep her in. She can't get out of this Best Pet kennel. I will buy a couple more of the 42 inch size kennels to have on hand because the price and quality is so great and I plan to buy a couple of the smaller wire ones to transport cats and pups to the vet in. I find the plastic cat carriers to be attractive but not so practical when you have a heavy cat or a "wild" cat or unhappy dog that needs an injection from the vet before it can be removed from the carrier to be tended to. Extremely disappointed. Did not come with the parts package. Nobody will answer the phone or call back for Walmart or me to have the parts package sent to me. Now I have to send back the parts I did get and I will not get my refund until they receive the parts back. Save yourself the headache and order from somewhere else.kayla
