I would really love to give this toy 5 stars for appearance and design but I’m taking off one for durability. Normally I stay away from anything that’s not a bone or hard rubber like a traditional KONG because my dogs are super chewers. They can destroy a Nylabone in 30 minutes. My 60 pound Pitbull is bonkers over the Kong Squeeze Stick. It satisfies his need to chew on something and it’s very strong. I have a lab who is rather gentle with his toys I’d say-rarely does he rip a hole or tear any apart. However within 10 minutes of him having this one, he managed to rip off one of the tail bits & nearly swallow it. Thankfully I was nearby & heard the ripping noise & managed to get it before him. I simply cut off the remaining tail ends before giving it back. He now chews on it regularly & it’s held up just fine. Overall knowing how easily the tail pieces can come off, I wouldn’t recommend. Purchased this super cute giraffe for my puppy in April. Really disappointed in it, even though the dog likes it. First time playing with it, ears, horns and tail were gone. Next went the black binding, leaving holes for stuffing to be pulled out (red fabric is not sewn together under the black binding). I've sewed it up in various places a few times, and will likely have to continue sewing until all the binding is gone. This to spent three months in a closet because I was tired of sewing. Really quick delivery and looks great, a lot smaller than I imagined I bought a medium/large and it was just a bit bigger than my hand but it was too small to play with my dog with it she kept accidentally biting my fingers! I was a little weary ordering this bc some of the reviews said their dog chewed though it easy, but unless their dogs are like part shark and robot—-bc my dog is a big time on purpose destroyer of all toys and big time chewer, she destroyed all her stuff within 24 hours. I bought this toy a few years ago in store at Petco for my 50lb hound/pit mix, she's 5 now, and this has been her favorite toy by a long shot. The quality of this product has really gone down from the original STICK. The placement of the squeaker on the product causes it to fail after just a few uses. The fabric cover is okay. I bought the extra small duck as our Lhasa Apso is small. He has played with it quite a bit as that's what it's for. Now no more squeaker, I have a spare how ever not sure how long that will last, He has loads of toys that was a favourite. A better made toy even if more expensive would have been better. Also why a spare squeaker must be a weakness. He has had some toys for years and they still work!Daphne T
I've seen the extra small version and wasn't impressed enough to purchase it because as the other reviewer says it doesn't look much like the picture and it is very tiny but we have two of the small frogs and they (as well as the small Kong ducks) are my baby's favorites. My little girl is 15 months old, weighs 10 pounds, and loves her toys but she will dig through her toy box until she finds frog or duck. When the squeaker dies, she brings it to me like a small child would asking to have a toy repaired and waits while I put in a new squeaker. She is then more excited than when she gets a new toy. Frog and duck have seen a lot of action (tug of war, chase, snuggles) and both have held up very well.Kacie's mom
