I'm extremely sad to have to write a negative review on this toy. This was our Huskies' favorite toy for years! We had a couple of these balls that quite literally lasted for well-over a year and even then they were never damaged by the dogs, they were only disposed of when they had been outside for a couple years and began to dry rot and crack. The dogs played with them every single day (while supervised, never allowed to just chew on them) and many hours of fetch and playing with them in the kiddy pool, etc. and not one hole was caused. I recommended these Kong balls to everyone, we loved them so much. Fast forward to the last order I placed for these Kong balls, probably around a year ago, the balls did seem a bit more translucent than usual, but I wasn't yet concerned. That is until one ball stopped squeaking within minutes of giving it to the dogs and upon inspection, it had already been punctured and had a slice in it! I thought it had to be a fluke, so I gave them another one (I always order several at a time as we have a large pack of dogs) and the same thing happened within minutes! After about 10 minutes of normal playtime (they are not allowed to lay down and just chew on them), several of the balls already had to be discarded as pieces were easily coming off. I was in disbelief and so disappointed! Well, I made the dogs very sad and didn't order anymore for quite some time, but decided to give them another shot in a recent order as they were on sale. Unfortunately, they have not at all improved since our last experience. The price has also gone up on them, so not only do you pay more, but get a lesser quality product. This is my 3rd Kong ball. My dog Loves the Medium/Large size. Unfortunately, the way they have the sizing, they have medium/large and large/extra large. The lg/extra lg is a bit too big for my 35 lb dog and I ordered it by accident seeing only the word “large.” Once Petco accepts returns in store again, I will be taking it back. I’ve purchased the med/lg size now as well as purchasing one for a friend. Took away one star for that confusing sizing. Easy to see when you’re in the store but when ordering online, too easy to make a mistake that can’t be easily returned.TBDarren

I bought this to replace a medium version that had been completely trashed. Unfortunately this hasn’t been as robust as I had hoped. The squeak broke almost immediately, followed by the disc where it is located. I only allow ‘supervised’ use, but it was done and dusted within about half an hour’s playtime (2 x 15 minute sessions). She hasn’t managed to remove the tennis ball yet, so we are still enjoying it and I do believe there is a limit to what I can expect given my dog’s size/breed. She absolutely loves it, so I am happy!Caroline M

Definitely durable, but my dog was immediately terrified of this toy. It should be marketed as a behavioral tool to help dogs that are afraid of thunderstorms – because that’s exactly what this sounds like when you roll it towards your pet. It’s so loud – like a big bass drum or rolling thunder. If the animal is terrified of the noise it’s not very much fun.Jillc

Well… I have a super chewer who destroys everything and this thing is still alive a month after Christmas. That sounds like a good thing, EXCEPT the squeaker on this thing is so LOUD I really want it to die. It is deafening. We literally put it up on a high shelf when anyone is sleeping or on the phone because it is that loud. The dog loves it. It's holding up well. It's cute. But be warned that it is loud.LP

So happy we decided to get this for our new girl. She has destroyed "EVERYTHING" we've tried. She likes to squeak it. Someone said it wasn't too loud. But… we think it is. Maybe our ears are sensitive. We'll deal with it as she loves it. She throws, squeaks, chews it and so far its holding up. Some say not good for chewers. But our girl normally destroys all things we've gotten. Even some KONG things. So the fact this has lasted over 2 weeks is a bonus. Will be buying another one as don't want to have this one disappear & she not have it. All in all very happy with it. Hope this doesn't jinks it lol. I have a boxer mix that eats everything other Kong toys included, but this one he has chewed and chewed and chewed and it is still in great shape after a week. I know a week is not long life for a dog toy like this but you see, he ate the other one in less than 30 minutes. an it was a kong circle ball. So yes, if you have a chewer, this ball has staying power! He loves to play fetch with it and just run around the yard shaking it from side to side. Highly Recommend!Roscoe's Mom

Very very durable and great value for money, my husky loves this and it has lasted and is the only toy that is one of the original toys bought, it can be noisy at times but my husky loves it and I don't mind the squeaking, I would definitely recommend and will be buying another for my border collierachel.r

My cats love this food! I started feeding it to them 2 years ago because I noticed my cats were getting a little overweight and had no energy. I was told to start feeding them grain free and even since then my cats have lost weight and have no much energy! I noticed if I try to switch brands they won’t even touch other food. I bought this a day ago. Loaded it with treats and watched my little pup walk it through the living room. Watched little trails of red plastic litter the floor within the first five minutes. My dogs LOVE this more than any kong toy. They just need to update it to be a sturdy material like the other kong items. It lasted 2-3 months but eventually the dogs tore it to shreds. Literally shreds. I would still re buy it though due to how many hours use we got out of it. But I would rather spend a little more for a better version of this that is just not as prone to being torn up (as other reviewers mentioned and posted pics of, this is eventually what happened to ours, too). I filled with some dog food mixed with some soft training sized treats to really get their attention. Wouldn’t put peanut butter or anything like that in this. Would use it more as a feeder toy with dry or soft treats or food. Not wet though as the hole would be too small for the dogs to be able to get anything like that out. The weighted feeder ball is a great, indestructible similar option to this if you’re needing something to keep them busy for a longer period, it doesn’t break or get torn up, and can be used to feed a full meal as capacity is much bigger. With almost every king toy I always buy up 2 sizes. There’s a lot of reasons but especially due to the smaller ones being easily torn apart. My dogs just prefer the bigger ones anyway. PLEASE NOTE: it’s important to always remove any toys, feeders, bones, or bowls of food if the pup isn’t currently eating, or playing with the item. They’ll learn bad behavior like grazing, guarding, etc. and it can make it very hard for owners to notice when pets are unwell. (Google for more info). Water is the only thing they should have 24/7 access to without restriction. Hope this helps!Momzymo

This arrived on Friday and by Friday night after my 7 month old Jack Russell Puppy had used it one with kibble in it, it was unsafe. She started to chew little pieces off it and we have had to take it off her. I thought that being a Kong product it would be durable but it wasn't. She did not have it as a toy. it was just used for her kibble to keep her busy while we were eating.JUDY

I’m sorry but I would not recommend this. Within about 3 hours of my dogs eating this stuff’n they got sick. I have two black labs and we love the Kong toys. I had always put peanut butter or other things in the toy until I tried this. I put it in the toy, they played and within 3 hours BOTH of my babies were sick. I could hear their stomachs rumbling and they had horrible diarrhea. They both looked so pitiful. It passed in about 1.5-2 hours but I was so upset I had given them something that made them so sick. Looking for a treat dispensing toy for my Jack Russell that wouldn't instantly be destroyed by one of the other dogs in the house, the material is the hard rubber material that the other main Kong toys are made out of instead of easily chewed plastic which was exactly what I was looking for. my dog loves it and so far hasn't chewed it apart so great buy, brilliant for use when i'm busy round the house or just chilling out, keeps him entertained for ages rolling it for the treats and chewing the outside to help clean his teeth. I have a 5 yr old pit. She loves chewing on her toys instead of playing with them. If she has a tennis ball she will destroy it within 5 minutes. I bought her the Kong ball and she has not made a dent in it. She sometimes gets mad because she cant destroy it. It is a bit scary to throw in the house though. Our 5 month old poodle ripped the cover on this toy in less than 20 minutes. Kong says that certain dogs need special toys. I disagree in that there has been NO toy that has been destroyed so easy. I bought this Kong – Air Squeaker Football at my neighborhood Petco, and was a great purchase, durable, resistant to wear and tear from my tough German Shepherd puppy, with strong and sharp teeth. My pit Ruby can kill a tennis ball in a bite and loves too but it makes fetch more of a single throw event. I found this Kong version and it was a winner. Just oversized enough, being more mini football then actual tennis ball, and made with thicker kong materials, she hasnt popped it yet. She wants to rip the Kong logo off so bad but its to well part of the ball so shes slowly defuzzing it in the hopes that it will help (it wont). I bought the large dumbbell toy for my Staffordshire Bull Terrier to play with and the brand Kong are mostly indestructible. Shell play and chew on it for hours. She's managed to chew off the yellow outer skin on one of the dumbbells. But not destroyed it, yet! I'll only let my young girl have soft toys to play with it when supervised though as I left her with two kong toys she'd had for Christmas day. I was only gone 3 hours and the l Kong tennis ball had been chewed into pieces of rubber all over her XL crate. She is a chewer. I have to start off by saying this was Enzos favorite toy of all!! He absolutely loved it. Picked out from the rest the moment he saw it. It's not as strong as I would like it to be be but I found it to be affordable for the size and quality of the product . It lasted a couple of days and then he started tearing off the material to get to the squeaker as its always the first to go in a toy. He still played with the naked ball until he finally chewed it up. I will defiantly be purchasing one for the Christmas stocking this year. Got this to entertain my 16 week old Border Collie puppy when I leave the house. He loved it but destroyed it within about 3 days. Broke through the canvas and got the stuffing out. It is hard to find toys to entertain my light chewer but this is his absolute favourite. It has also continued to hold up to repeated use though the velcro needs a deep clean to get out the dog hair to maintain the stick every now and then. My 1 1/2 yr old pup gets bored and destructive. The way this bounces unpredictably really captures his attention and he loves chasing it when I throw it for him. He doesn't like to give it back though. I bought this in May. It is now August. He has chewed off 2 of the ends because I have left it with him during the day but he still loves it. My puppy is really selective on the balls she likes. She loves the chuck it ultra squeaker and that ball lasts one time at the dog park before it’s destroyed! Good ball for my crew. Generally tough, though the staffy can fracture one in a couple days. They are expensive for what they are. When our golden retriever was a puppy, we bought him so many of the Kong brand toys. This particular one is completely round with a hole in the middle. We would often fill it with dog safe peanut butter and then freeze it. We also would fill it with treats and let him have a blast trying to get them out. Kong has been my go to brand primarily because I went through many 'toys' before I found the ONE that lasts even with big chewing. As a puppy both my papillon and english bulldogs could destroy a toy in a record window of time. This brand may cost a bit more but the quality and durability has made me a believer. They have a good range of chewy toys and the label is accurate to the level of 'bite'.tamie.l
