I bought this toy last week for my mid-sized hunting dog hoping that it was as durable as the tag claimed it was. Within an hour of playing, my dog had torn it open and removed both of the squeakers and all of the stuffing. I am a toy schnauzer breeder. I always order a sample of different toys for my dogs and puppies to try out. Then I put favorites into bags of gifts that I give to my new families. When I first opened the box and looked at the small duck I just sat it back down and said that was a waist of money, glad I didn't buy 10. After I inspected the other toys and decided what I would order I tossed the ducks on the floor figuring I was going to just have to pick them back up and throw them in the trash. Another wonderful refillable catnip toy from Kong! My kitties LOVE it and the refillable squirrel version! Easy to use pouch with velcro for a reasonable portion of the catnip provided. Will likely get at least 7-8 refills out of the catnip provided depending on how much you use. My dogs love this toy. I have 2 Dobermans and 1 Manchester Terrier. They all love this toy. I usually buy the large ones for my Dobermans and the small ones for my Manchester. The toy makes like a squawking noise and they all love it. It's not a high pitch squeek but more of a lower tone hoooonk noise. The quality of Kong toys is amazing. My one Dobie likes to chew to destroy and this toy will last if I let her play with it supervised and stop her if she gets too aggressive. My other Dobie is a sucker and he doesn't destroy toys. My dog loves this toy at the beach as we can throw it so far into the ocean using the rope. He also has the best time playing tug with it although the rope has started to fray after one use (assuming it's not designed for tug so still a five star product in my opinion) He actually played with it when one of his friends at the beach brought it and he's been obsessed ever since so we had to get him his own! My puppy is really selective on the balls she likes. She loves the chuck it ultra squeaker and that ball lasts one time at the dog park before it’s destroyed! I’m trying to find another ball that’s she’ll love, that will last! I’m pretty sure it could be this one… I do know that a lot of the other dogs at the park love it, because it’s soft and squishy. Like others said, the squeaker didn’t last longer than a few moments and that’s what entices them to play. My number one recommendation for this ball… MAKE IT A DIFFERENT COLOR!!! PROS: durable squeaker, favorite squeaker ball for my pitbull. It can still have a hole and squeak! CONS: if you own a pitbull, this is not the chew time squeaker. I learned the hardway and realized that when it comes to chew time; pitbulls are murderous to toys with a passion. I have a 2 year old pitbull sweetheart. She is a self pronounced lapdog but can chew toys to pieces in minutes. I've only found one brand that has lasted more than a day, until now. I had no faith in this cute little duck standing up to her jaws. The first day she didn't seem enthused. It had been awhile since her last squeaker, so she seemed unsure of it's purpose. The next day she started enjoying it. She chews it, throws it herself to catch and even rolls on it, to squeak or scratch her back maybe? We play fetch or she just walks around squeaking it. (Pretty light weight so it doesn't throw very far) If it weren't so cute, it might get annoying. After a week I am excited to see it mostly intact. One part of the seam is torn open but the squeaker still squeaks. It looks pretty good after 6 days use. I imagine it could last a month or two, maybe more with my extreme chewer. I must also mention that touching it after a chew session is not disgusting. It doesnt seem to absorb much moisture. Gotta say that's a plus in my book.Nzza2020

I received this dog toy and I’m very pleased with it. It’s a nice and durable toy and the squeaky part inside is very loud, which of course my dog enjoys. I haven’t had this toy long but feel it’s good quality. It has survived several play dates with my dog, granted she’s only a teacup yorkie. My friend brought her pit bull over a couple days ago and her dog played with it too. I machine washed it after and it washed nicely. I did let it air dry. I would say these toys are durable and well constructed, and would be suitable for both small and large breed dogs. Overall I am very pleased and will shop this brand in the future.Davidk44303

I was very impressed by this little dog toy. I have to admit, I chuckled to myself when I first opened the package because it was smaller than I expected, thus the "Mini" in the name, and it had a picture of an adult german shepherd on the packaging. I thought to myself, surly they dont expect an adult german shepherd not to rip this little thing apart within minutes, but so far it has proved me wrong! It has been a couple weeks and it's still fully intact, the squeaker still works and my adult german shepherd plays with it everyday. Like I said it is a bit small, not good for tug of war with a big dog unless your not worried about getting your hands too close to the dogs mouth, it would probably be fine for tug of war with a small dog though. I have both a big and a little size dog and I like that they can both play with it. The size and durability of this dog toy make it very versatile. The squeak also isn't overly annoying, which is a huge plus. Overall a great quality and an excellent value for the price. I will definitely be getting more of this brand.shell470

This is by far the best decoy on the market. KONG never disappoints and these last longer than any other brand or type of floating toy. Our Chesapeake Bay/Labrador loves it and won't leave it inside when he goes out. He can chew it to pieces, so we throw it to give him exercise rather than leave him with it unsupervised. Moved house to Live by the sea, but my 8 year old dog couldnt swim, (she also had leg surgery which has given her arthritis) I wanted her to get some exercise in the water so brought her a life jacket and this as a last option after trial and error with balls, floats, toys etc but with no success or interest …… as shes a big wuss and a big dog this has been excellent and she is now swimming out to retrieve it and as its quite big and floats really well she can see it easily and loves going in the sea after it. We thought this toy would be really fun for our labs and a great way to entertain them. The older one doesn't care for it. Our younger one keeps getting her jaw stuck in the teeth of the toy trying to get any treats we put in, and then it slices up her bottom jaw. My dogs love these. Not going to lie, when I first purchased these, I didn’t really understand how they worked. I would fill with treats then feel disappointed when it only entertained my dogs 10 minutes. I have since adopted a hyperactive Labrador; while researching ways to calm him down, kongs kept coming up in the blogs. I watched some videos on how to use them for training purposes and have learned how to stuff them in a way that keeps my dogs entertained for a long time. I use a combination of kibble, canned dog food, and other healthy food options, layer it all in the Kong, then freeze. My dogs are stupid excited to see me pull these out of the freezer. I always buy a size larger than I think I need to ensure my dogs don’t choke or get their tongues stuck and that’s worked out great. Very happy with these, we have about 12 of them. Amazing! Amazing at entertainment for my dog. Love how we can stick big treats in there and keep him busy whenever we have to leave the house. I think it's a must for training your dog. Be sure to replace it whenever there is damage. As I know a friend's dog had a piece of Kong stuck in his intestine and had to get surgery to remove it. So best to keep the toy until you notice any wear or tear. I like how it has multiple sizes and has really good durability.. this is a really good investment for your dog! We have found many creative ways to entertain our husky/German shep/malamute mutt who has high energy and high affinity to treats. 10/10 would recommend. There's also some Kong specific treats you can find meant to fit into the toy to make it very difficult for the dog to remove it. We like that there is a lot of creative ways to use it. We had two on rotation for when our puppy was teething and needed a lot of attention. Frozen treats allowed for the pup to work on the kong. We use it at home mainly but we do bring it over to our friends house when our dog is staying the night because we are out of town. It's just another tool they can use if they find he needs to calm down and focus instead of rambunctious and playing.terri.n

My dogs had this for about a year. He’s a 22 lb Italian Greyhound mix who isn’t destructive (the pic attached is him 🥰). I included this information because I can’t vouch for the durability if you have a chewer. The material seems durable though. It does have a rubber smell that is kind of annoying and it takes a long time to go away. If you’re sensitive to smell you might want to avoid this. It seems to smell the most like rubber when you wash it. It’s easy to wash. I use a little bit of dish soap and hot water to wash it after every use. You don’t have to use the Kong spray in this. You can fill it up with whatever treat/food you want.simply.b

I purchased this adorable plush dog toy for my dogs thinking it was like the Barbour outerwear. It is not. It tore is 5 minutes after giving it to my dogs. I have spent a lot of money on keeping her mouth busy and the Flathead is by far the best dog toy. It has helped her release pent up energy like nothing I've purchased thus far. If your dog is like my dog, there is that ONE toy that they neglect 35 other toys for and choose every time. This is THAT TOY. My Riley is a 70-ish-lb lab and is a pretty medium chewer. Not soft by any means, but she’s pretty cool about damage control when she wants a toy to last. Is our Wubba a little worn and torn? Yes. Is it still holding up over a year later? Yes. I was so excited to see Kong had made a soft chew toy! I have probably bought about every single toy besides the two i bought today to add to their collection. Every kong I bought has incredible longevity. this toy he was the most excited about, he loves squeaky soft toys but literally runs through them in 2 minutes. and since it was made from kong, i had total confidence in the durability. boy was i wrong, i gave it to him 10 minutes ago and there’s already a hole in the top. We have a 9 year old staffy X fox terrier who loves to chew and also throw toys around. We got this because we read how durable it was. However after a few months she'd managed to put a hole in it and the string stuff that comes off it is kind of dangerous if ingested… She swallowed a huge wad of string and we had to call the vet in fear of a blockage in her bowel… Just be warned and be careful and monitor your pet if they have a strong chew.Kara

My fur baby is definitely a playful lil thing. She loves tug a war. I love the material. It’s very tough and thick and there is little to no stuffing and I love that so much. Ughhh the hassle of picking up stuffing and toy parts. Ewww lol. Also, my I’m not sure what it is, but my fur baby didn’t eat the squeak ball out of the top of this toy. I got this Checkers Skinny Pig for my sisters little dog. My family and I are in competition to get her the silliest toys we can find. She has a huge basket full of them but since she opened this one she hasn't put it down. She absolutely loves it and looks so silly carrying it around in her mouth. It's perfect for shaking too. The quality is very good. It looks like she won't be able to tear it apart anytime soon which is good because that's her specialty. So I'm happy to say that I am currently in the lead in the silly toy department. This is one toy highly worthy of the basket. Hopefully it won't spend too much time there. So far so good!
