I bought the indigo pet door x-large a couple weeks ago and am extremely happy with how how quickly it arrived. It easy it was to install and the quality is exactly what was needed. This will definitely keep my Little Bit warm this winter when the cold hits here in Texas. I ordered the same door in a large before I went to Tractor Supply and bought the Indigo pet house. Little did I know my Little Bit isn't a "large" dog. Lol I ended up going with the XL house because I know how my fur baby likes to stretch out when he sleeps. I left Tractor Supply and immediately called customer service to see if I could change my order. It was to late, it had already been processed. The agent was very nice and ordered the XL door I needed & advised me to return the Large door to the store. The store refunded me with no questions asked!! I am an amazingly happy camper with my purchase and the quality of customer service I received from Tractor Supply!! Thank you!!!cmm0908

Although I bought the door I'm not sure it will work as I want. I bought the Igloo and door for feral neighborhood cats to stay warm this winter. My one local outside cat walked into the Igloo and napped, but this was after I installed the door, flipped it up and taped it up inside. I taped it up in order to let cats get used to the Igloo and door after being installed. Later, after I know cats are going into the Igloo I will release the door and let it hang normally; hopefully, the cats will get used to going in and out of the Igloo and pushing through the door.Ward

The door seems to be working as designed and my dog quickly learned to use it with no problem. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is the difficulty in installing it. There is so little space to hold the nut to put the bolt into (the bolt cannot be put in first!) that my awkward hands could not install it as designed. I wound up using zip ties instead, which seem to work well so far.Jeb232

These are nice dog houses. They are light weight & don't look like they are very warm, but they actually do a good job, my border collies like these a lot. The extra neck or tunnel entrance is nice to give them some extra protection and privacy. They stand up pretty well to puppies chewing on them to. I recommend this dog house.Iowafarmgal

I mistakenly bought the Large doghouse for dogs up to 90 lbs. But my 5 month old coonhound was too large for it. I returned it and ordered the X-large doghouse and it is the right size. Unfortunately, the doghouse was broken in two places, probably due to the way you ship. These doghouses are delivered without any protection and will crack or break when sliding into anything. I will have to repair it to hold it together since I don't trust you are able to send another one without the same issues.Daniel

It's not extra large, that's for sure. It's a large. My two Berner males at 94-lbs and 120-lbs don't go in because they can barely turn around in it. Nor my 88-lb Pyrenees. The material itself is great. But isn't the point that the dog can get in/out of it so they use it? My smaller 72-lb female uses her Ex-Lg. So is it really the size a medium dog should use? I spent $$ for 5 Extra Lg and 1 dog uses it. Not a happy camper.SCloudcroft

Purchased a second XL house for our two Great Pyrenees because they no longer fit in one together. Our original is over 15 years old and is in great shape. Love the new design with the slight angle that provides more space and blocks the wind. Durable and strong material, yet still lightweight and easy to move.S Ringo

This igloo dog house is absolutely the best thing on the market. Heavy, durable and withstands high winds, rain, and hail. I haven't been able to test in cold temperatures yet as I just received this recently. However, I have no doubts it will definitely hold up. I waited to give a review because I wanted to test out the weather conditions to truly give my 100% honest opinion. Does not come assembled but it's an easy process. The large is quite large. My dog is 60lbs and has plenty of room left in it to move adound. Provides a great shelter. It is constructed very well. You will definitely not be disappointed with this product! Those who have dogs that live outside this would be perfect for. Very well insulated and lining with straw in the winter will make it that much more insulated. We live in Pennsylvania so our winters can be brutal with sometimes 3 seasons in 1 day. I'm not sure how this would hold up insulation wise in much colder climates but for us it's absolutely perfect.Cainjm301

I got this igloo-shaped dog house for our Shih Tzu which is 20 lbs. I got this to keep her cool in the warm months when we sit on our patio. It came in two separate pieces in a large box. The top part of the dog house has 4 brackets which easily snaps to the bottom half for quick assembly. I assembled it in our home and needed to carry it out onto our patio through the front of the house since it was too wide to fit through our sliding door. It is surprisingly lightweight for its dimensions, so it is easy to carry to different locations. The top of the house has a round vent with a paw print which can be turned to open or close it as needed for ventilation. Because of its design, there’s room for movement. The smaller opening in the front protects it from the elements such as wind and sun; although rain did get in through that front opening and not the vent. It disassembles quickly for cleaning or even to transport away from home! Although it is a large house, I feel that it is suitable for a medium size dog so that it can have enough room to move comfortably. Once assembled, my dog was confused and leery, which is to be expected since it’s something new! I gently introduced her to the inside and she was able to move around comfortable until she nested on her bedding. I highly recommend this house for any small to med sized pet to be used in the summer to keep them cool and winter to keep them warmer. Yet because it lacks insulation. I would not recommend it for permanent outside shelter in the winter. Additionally, I did notice that it got hot on the patio and thus I had to move it to a shady area to avoid overheating my dog. Lastly, please leave a water bowl near this house in whatever weather!Madz64

This is one of the best dog houses I have ever had. I love that its light weight but very sturdy dog house. I have never seen a vent on a dog house, but I have to say that is a genius idea for all dogs. My dogs like that it's roomy and keeps them warm on the cooler and hot days. I like that. The dog house is stylish and easy to move around. During storms, it keeps my dogs safe and dry, which I love. Both hinges broke on my 30+ year old Igloo ice chest. The hinges in this product works and were very easy to replace. However, the original hinges were actual hinges-that is, two interlocking parts. The hinges in this product were just one piece with a depressed area at the bend point. These hinges probably will NOT last close to 30 years. The other parts in this product were not replaced, so I don't know about them, but I see no reason that they should not work.David

It came with four hinges, two latches with central latch button and corresponding stainless steel screws. replacement of these in the cooler was simple and did not have to drill new holes since they were exactly on the same place for the replacement parts. The price of the kit was right. The parts arrived timely to the local store with free shipping, an extra saving. Parts are exactly like original and what I ordered but theyre also cheap plastic junk. Why Igloo doesnt spend the very little money required to replace with metal is poor business! Well, so far I have just put them on 2 coolers and have not yet used them otherwise. I would've thought that they would've been made to adapt to the stub that was already in place but no big deal other than taping a new hole for them. Time will tell on the durability of them but I suspect that they will outlast the hinges that came with them.fireguy

When the OEM latch snapped off my cooler after less than 120 unlatch/latch events, I came to the Igloo website hoping replacements were available. I took the advice of another person who commented and bought one that looked identical to the old one rather than trusting that the latches all are interchangeable. The new latch arrived just a few day after I ordered it and was very easy to install. I think it will be a lot more durable than the old one. Like many others who have left reviews, I'm puzzled as to why Igloo didn't provide latches with real hinges in the first place and wonder if it was pushback from the retailer to meet a certain price point. Way better quality than originals, I am wondering if they are made for the maxcold coolers like the 165 qt. They take a bigger latch we have had ours for 3 yrs used it twice and the latches broke stainless steel would great and hinges also.Family camper

The latch was good quality but i did need to put a shim behind the hinge so when closed it laid flat vs an odd angle. Simply used the old plastic latch for the shim, it was tearing where it hinged so i simply finished tearing it used the piece that screwed to the cooler. The post was included with the two screw attachment that was exactly the same as the original on my coolmax. Only took about 10 minutes to install including making the shim form the old latch.S.

I bought 2 latches to replace those on my 100 qt. Quick and Cool cooler. The posts for these latches require 2 screws; the original post has a single center screw. You can get the new screws in the plastic of the cooler easily, but you must be careful to line things up appropriately of course. Also, part of the plastic cover into which the screws were being screwed started to lift as the screws got deep, I assume because the screw started to hit a denser insulating compound or some plastic. I could get it down by pushing very hard as I finished screwing in, but this cracked one side of the post. It doesn't look like this will affect the long-term durability but obviously isn't optimal. Finally, these posts, with their base on either side rather than a central screw, sit a bit higher than the original posts. This results in the latch not being as flush as the original plastic one was. Overall still happy I replaced it, but it was not an effortless and flawless process. I believe you can get the hybrid replacement latches with a single center post, but I didn't feel like waiting and prefer the fully stainless.J.J.

Bought this for our 7 month old Pyrador puppy, who has already outgrown one house. It was easy to put together, and the sturdist dog house we've ever seen. Plus being insulated is perfect for a cold Indiana winter. She's huge and still growing and loves it. The first night she slept in front of it despite dog treats inside. Second night was cooler, she decided to check it out so the head and front paws went thru the swinging door first, and after she had stood that way for about 5 minutes, walked all the way in, and has loved it ever since. From the size if it unless she grows as much as Clifford the big red dog, she'll get to enjoy for a lifetime.PJ

We got this house for a new Boxador puppy so that it can spend most of its time outside. We found it to be a good product. It was easy to put together and does stay much warmer than the outside air. In rainy weather, it stays dry. It is a very large house which would work for a lab or other large dog. No problems with the dog using the door. Only suggestion: add nuts and bolts for the 6 screws. Screwing metal into plastic is not a real good plan. I'm assuming the company will have replacement parts (door, window, etc…) available for my investment!Y Robinson

Read my title above, self-explanatory. I think the overheating issue may have been caused by lack of good contact with the conductive portions of the plug to lighter socket, because I constantly had to wiggle the tight-fitting plug to get the power flowing. Lack of good solid contact will tend to cause excessive heat build-up which over time will damage the plastic housing near the threads that hold the cap and fuse in. It's a typical issue to which I know of no solution. Just buy another cord when it fails?? That's what I've been doing…. 🙁pistolcompetitor

I don't understand how the original product that came with cooler it melted quick and the performance is nowhere near. I bought 2 extra cords and just that 1 I've been using is totally amazing! In my opinion Igloo should have a 1 year replacement warranty on that cord. Just by the customer sending you the bad one. Other than that! I love my cooler, it's just PERFECT for me, size, performance, style, room capacity, etc. Irreplaceable!!! Please don't stop making such great cooler for us who travel a lot to make a living. I've owned my igloo cooler for 6 years. It's as strong and durable as the first day that I purchased it. I dropped the cooler, getting it out of my truck. Thats how a broke the latch. We broke on handle. Local stores did not have this replacement part. Order arrived promptly: two handles with screws. Holes in plate did not align perfectly with existing screw holes but it was not a problem: drove screws in and it worked.angler

The directions were weak and adapter ( for large Igloo Dog house} didn't match properly. Had to go on to YouTube to figure out how to make it work. The Igloo is a constant curve making something that is not built for the curve turns into a little more work. The adapter did not compensate for the curve but I did get it installed and I am happy with it and my dog is also. The heat shield needs to be a little lager and more reflective the outside of the dog house gets hotter than I personally would like. I would still recommend it.cmswin

The bracket is supposed to fit an igloo style dog house. The dog house is curved the bracket is flat which makes it difficult to drill mounting holes for the bracket. The mounting holes on the heater were not in the correct location for the bracket (had to drill bracket for heater mounting). It came with a heat shield that did not mount correctly. Bought this for our older dog who now has to contend with the younger one pulling bedding out to position into sun. Now bedding stays in house, dogs prefer dog house now and they even smell better, not that musty smell. Extremely happy customer here. One of those products I should have bought earlier. This heater is designed specifically for a certain model dog house. I did not realize that. I had to modify a bran new heater to make it fit. Lowest temp setting is 50 degrees. I have another brand that goes to 35. Cannot change temp or start it without remote. My other heater of a different brand seems like a better unit.Darren 4545

These are well built and made from heavy canvas but are not at all chew proof. My ridgeback only needed 6 hours to have the inside destroyed. I’m giving it 4 stars because it would be nice for dogs that are normal. It has a foam pad and a fabric heat shield type thing inside so it would actually block some cold air. The bottom has a soft plastic that doesn’t really grip to prevent sliding around a crate.Ian
