As I previously stated I bought two of these harnesses in two different sizes. A small and a medium as I was not sure which would work. The small is a great fit for my 13 lb Shih Tzu. But this is summer and she is shaved down. I am going to use the medium size for winter to go over her sweaters and coats. I bought this in a medium a week ago and I've used it around 2-3 times already. I have a maltipoo and she has a tendency to pull and try to go faster/farther and it would cause her to choke in her previous harness. However, not a single time since I've started using this has she choked/gagged. The sizing is a bit off for her though, since a small is too tight but a medium is too loose (but the medium isn't loose enough for it to be unsafe/falling). This harness is true to its name and is so helpful for dogs that try pulling and end up choking. It's also super softer than her old one. I also bought a small for my yorkie and I think she loves it! Normally she hates harnesses but this one she doesn't seem to mind! I feel like it makes her more comfortable when she's walking as her previous ones weren't the most softest like this. This is my third Gooby harness. Small size worked well when she was a puppy. She outgrew the Small we got her a medium and there was a small sign of tearing on this harness when we upgraded her to large. We got her the large pink and the fabric tore in half. The black fabric on the edge was the only thing keeping it together. Our dog weighs 18lbs but she’s built like a tank. If you have a dog that pulls I wouldn’t recommend this harness. Finally, this harness fits perfectly in Medium! There's even a little room to spare in case he gets larger. We wanted to take off pressure from his neck and the v neck design and light weight, soft mesh is great! It's by far the softest one I've ever felt, and I've tried every one at multiple stores. It's so comfortable that it could be left on all the time even in summer since it's so breathable. My dog lives it too! He seems to feel safe and calmer in it like a thunder shirt makes him feel. The first time I took him on a walk he seemed to feel "free". He was so happy to pounce around without worrying about a jerk in his neck. We give this one 5 stars!!!! I got this in black, size medium from Amazon. She has a 12" neck and a 19" chest. This harness is adjustable around both neck and chest. My pup has a high chase drive and will sometimes pull suddenly. I like that the x-shape doesn't put as much pressure on her throat when she pulls, and the double d-rings and buckle closure feel very secure for her leash. Will be returning. Our Yorkie mix weighs 10 lbs and measured 14 inches around her chest. Based on the size chart, we ordered her a size Small. We paid extra for shipping. When it got here, it looked tiny. I adjusted the straps and tried putting it on our pup but it’s too small! It barely went over her head and wouldn’t close even at the largest adjusted strap point. Either your size chart is wrong or your product is mislabeled. I will be returning this harness. Which is too bad because I love the harness she has from your company but it is stinky now and the smell won’t wash away. I like this harness! I have a mini aussie and he is a chewer. Sometimes with these he will somehow find his way to nibble around the edges of the harness and tear through it. I have a 6 lb puppy, 3 months old. I have been trying various harnesses. This seem to be the best as far as a step in harness. It seems my pup has a short neck so the over the head harness comes to close to his chin and he is able to get his mouth around the top. This harness is a step in harness easier to get on. However, since it is an XS it could have been a little narrower around the paw holes. It seems to come right up to the shoulder joint. Also the "D" hooks for the leash do not lay flat if you are at the tightest fit. Because of that, I remove the harness while indoors, especially when playing with other pups. I have a chiweenie and it is very hard to find a harness that will fit him because he is so tiny. If I do find any that fit him they're not very good quality. When I first got this I didn't think it was going to work. I started to adjust the straps which was a little tricky but keep trying because it really does adjust down a lot. Also because it is so hard that means that it won't loosen up easily which is great cuz I don't have to worry about him sliding out of it. It has two buckles, one on each side which is nice to get on and off because you don't have to put his arm through the hole. I like that it just has one hole to put the leash on on the back and also one on the front. It has reflector strips on it so that at night I can see him easily and also cars can in case he gets away. It has a handle on the back that you can actually grab easily. The leach is really nice and thick and has a little Loop by the handle so you can put the doggie bags on it. It also comes with a little holder for the doggie bags and clip which is nice. It also comes with a roll of baggies, not many though but enough to start you out. It's nice thick material but yet not too thick to where he can't move around easily. I do want to mention that after I tightened up the straps they did hang down to where he would pee on them. But it was also an easy fix because I just cut them off and used a lighter to burn the ends so they didn't fray. I would highly recommend especially if you have a hard time finding a harness to fit a smaller dog.
I really like this set! It’s high quality, well made, and has all the bells and whistles for a great price. The leash itself is very sturdy and durable – the only thing I’d change is to add some padding or cushion to the handle. Without it, you can get rope burn from your dog suddenly darting off. The harness is excellent – there are reflective strips on it, the clips are solid, and it’s padded. I love the fact that it has two areas to connect the leash to, on the top and in the front. I also love that I don’t have to get a squirmy puppy’s front legs into any holes, this clips on both sides (top and bottom) on his back, so it’s much easier to get on my little bugger! It’s a bit stiff at first, it takes a bit to mold to your dog’s shape. My favorite feature in this set is the bag holder/bags – it definitely beats trying to shove bags in pockets or walk around holding them the whole time! Even more importantly for me, it clips to the leash so I don’t leave the house and forget to bring a bag with me (which was most of the time). The clip itself isn’t the greatest, it feels a little cheap and doesn’t move very well bc of the way it’s attached to the bag holder. I really wish they’d include instructions or a note on the box telling you how to open the bag holder as well, it took me a while to figure it out! Those are the only reasons I gave this set 4 stars instead of 5. As long as you’re ok with those things, I absolutely recommend this set for anyone with pets!

I'm giving this harness only three stars because I watched my cat lay on his side yesterday and pull one leg out of its hole. I'm certain that he'd have gotten the other leg out in short order if I hadn't caught him in the act (the harness fits him pretty snugly). Before I saw that – because it looks like a good design – I was convinced that he would NOT be able to wiggle out of it, but I was wrong. Now, I'm not sure if there is such a thing as an escape-proof harness for cats. Having said all that, it is well made and of good quality.squat48
