We were on vacation when our 13 year old dog suddenly developed upset stomach, bad diarrhea and vometing. Still not sure if it was just from nerves or if he picked up a bug as this rarely happens to our dog. Being away from home, I didn't have probiotics or anything else with me except for this remedy. I was sceptical as this was going to be the first time using it and the upset stomach was so very bad, but it really worked. I adopted an older girl from our local shelter. From what we could tell, she had been on the streets for a long time, but seemed healthy. We took our cat to the vet after he woke me up in the early morning howling in pain trying to urinate in the litter box. We discovered he had a UTI and his bladder was very inflamed and full of struvite stones. After a round of antibiotics and other meds to relax his urethra and dissolve the stones, along with new prescription diet food, I started researching other ongoing preventative maintenance options. An overnight stay at the vet and a midnight run to the emergency vet for fear of stones or crystals for our cat who was diagnosed with FLUTD since he was a kitten, and being told each visit that it was just chronic inflammation (a frustrating but common side effect of FLUTD) and there wasnt much the vets could do other than pain meds and anti inflammatories. Ever since I adopted my little Angel a few months ago, I've wanted to get rid of her overly flaky coat and large amount of shedding. My vet first prescribed the standard fatty acid capsules. They were too large to administer by themselves and with pill pockets. Squeezing the liquid into Angel's wet food was out of the question as well, as she is EXTREMELY picky when it comes to supplementing her food with vitamins, medicines, etc. and refused to touch her dinner if it had the liquid in it. Exasperated, I purchased Ark Naturals Royal Coat and crossed my fingers, hoping she wouldn't reject it. Success! Angel actually seems to like her wet food even more with Royal Coat mixed in it. I bought this for my dog Tilly – who stepped on a Thawn – and has constantly been licking her paws. It caused and infection in her foot so I immediately started searching for other creams or antibacterial sprays. I found this 5 star product as the first pop up I saw, and thought it looked a great amazing cream with almost all positive reviews and at first I saw no impact on the feet and considered changing creams to a spray instead but I gave it one more night and when I woke up the next morning the impact for her was huge! We actually have the senior advanced bites but j didn’t see them available to review. Our pooch seems to love them. We have used the one in the envelope a few times and that led us to purchase the bigger tub size. although we can’t physically see a difference I have no doubt they seem to be working and apparently are tasty. They seem to be pricey for 90 count but if you give one a day that is about $12 or so a month which is extremely reasonable to me! We used this product on our grand dog. He was a scaly, crusty mess and had lost most of his hair. We took him to the vet and put him a regimen of medicated shampoo, oral antibiotics and an immunomodulator. We used the Skin Soother immediately after his daily bath. We also have him the salmon treats daily. I believe this product helped him regain his health. His color came back and all the scales and itching were gone. So I bought another. Even though the regimen is over, we are still bathing him regularly and applying the Skin Soother. That was over a month ago and he continues to look better than ever! My pug had a dark bald spot on his neck from scratching and I was looking for something that would hopefully heal the area and let his hair grow back. I discovered the skin soother and decided to give it a try and this worked like magic! I ordered the 2 oz stick version and loved it. The application was great. It was very easy and clean to apply overall. I applied it to the area twice a day for two weeks before I was able to start seeing results. The hair started growing back and the dark skin was lightening up and becoming less dry and flaky. At the same time, my dog was scratching at it less so that was a plus. Only thing is this stick was practically gone by my second week. It would not have come close to lasting the month. That being said, I had to order another to see continued results but I ordered the larger tin instead. My only issue with this product is the tin is a lot harder to apply. The texture itself is not as soft and smooth as the stick. I also had to use my own hands to spread it on which I did not like at all. It also gets messy in the tin as my pug sheds so there is now hair stuck in the product. My recommendation to the company would be to have the stick in a larger option and I would gladly purchase that. However, currently I greatly regret purchasing two of the tins instead of the smaller sticks. All in all, this product works and I would buy it again! I bought these for our senior dog who was on an antibiotic, but they arrived on her final day of the antibiotic so she did not have them. I instead began slowly giving them to our other senior dog who has had loose stools since we got her (2012), despite being on foods for sensitive stomachs and trialing other foods and medications. They have been helping her quite a bit and we are planning on buying more. Her stools are much more "normal" now. They key though is slowly getting them used to the product. We have other Zesty Paws products and have had to do the same thing.
I have been getting these probiotics for my dog for a while now, we've gone through 6 containers! After a vet visit we realized the importance of a probiotic to regulate his sensitive stomach and originally were using the Purina ProPlan powdered one that is sprinkled over food but prefer these! My dog can be a picky eater and after preparing his food he'll decide he doesn't want to eat it, wasting the probiotic (he eats wet food and I give him fresh food later if he didn't eat it). In this form he can choose to eat it whenever he wants and he thinks it's a treat. No more powder to deal with and getting the same great results!
We have been using this product for over a year now and we have not taken Dallas to the vet for digestive issues. He had pancreatitis and dealt with tons of gastrointestinal problems. My poor pupper got irritated paws from horrible ginko berries smashed all over the fall ground and then made them worse by licking. They were so red and I felt so bad. This product is on the shelf next to a dozen others that claim to do the same thing, but I didn't get to it until three others didn't get the job done. This showed visible improvement within a day. Bonus that he didn't lick it off – before I tried this I would combo an antimicrobial with one of those "bitter taste dogs hate" sprays, but my dog is weird and loved those things and would lick them like crazy. My girl has had bad allergies since I moved to Texas. Mainly skin allergies. She’s about 80lbs and she’s 12. She was taking apaquil daily and it worked however it’s expensive but not only that taking long term allergy meds can actually put her at higher risk of yeast or other fungal skin infections. So that’s why I started this as an alternative. I wasn’t actually expecting to be able to not need the apaquil at all so hats a great surprise. My chihuahua Rebel is 13 years old and has been sneezing, scratching and had watery alot lately. I saw this product online when I was buying his water additive and figured I'd give it a try. The first time I gave it to him I broke the heart-shaped med in to three pieces. He of course snubbed his nose at it, but after several sniffs and quick licks he made all three pieces disappear pretty quickly. I have a 4-Years old purebred Keeshond (Precious Assal). Unfortunately Assal has seasonal allergy. I use to give him Cetirizine HCL 10 mg per his vet recommendation.
