As soon as I stopped giving these supplements, his itching subsided but yet still scratching, so off again I go to look for something to help with his allergies. I have a mare who has super sensitive skin. She was out to pasture in the spring and before I could notice the gnats got to her belly and it was bad. She had hair falling out, was rubbed raw, swollen, itchy, scabby… I used this with a combo of fly/gnat spray every night after brushing and it was magically healed in a week. I will always have a bottle of Banixx in my house now. I have a Great Dane mix that has severe skin sensitivities. She was developing yeast infections on her skin and nothing would work to give her relief. Her hair kept falling out. I could see a difference with Banixx over night and her coat is finally almost full. I also have a boxer and pekingese who often have ear issues and Banixx works for that too. One of my dogs sometimes gets itchy skin, no other issues with her skin she just gets itchy. I figured it would be nice if I could find a shampoo to help her out. This one does the trick. She seems much more comfortable after her baths and I love how clean it gets all my dogs. Its very easy to lather up and it rinses clean. The smell is great if youre into fruity…if you dont like fruity itd be best to skip this one. I think this would be a great shampoo for any coat type…I use it on a rat terrier, a mini poodle, and a Great Pyrenees.L.

Good dog shampoo is really hard to find but I really like this one. It is a little bit pricey but the bottle is a good size. The only way I would improve this product is making it a little cheaper or affordable. My dogs and I love this very much. I love the whole line, but lately, my dog has been suffering from allergies, so I switched to this one. It smells amazing, which I love, but more importantly, it's definitely helping with her skin irritations from her allergies. She doesn't scratch even half as much as before. Before I switched, she would scratch so hard, her belly was covered in scratched, bite marks from chewing, and sometimes it was so bad she bled. Now, she has a clear tummy, because she doesn't have the urge to scratch. This was a lifesaver. For the record, I did previously try the oatmeal itch formulas from other brands, and they stunk terribly, and didn't seem to help, which is why I switched to Pet Head. They've never let me down.R.

My Dog has Chronic Kidney disease, which causes anemia. This was the only product I was able find for pets that I felt was appropriate. It did help my dog for a time, I am very grateful! It didn't seem to cause him additional stomach or intestinal upset (which is great for an iron supplement:)). I am only giving 3 stars because for my dog's needs, it simply did not give him enough iron and it does not contain vitamin C (helps the body absorb the iron), and he seemed to have some reactions sometimes. So, I had to find a different source. For a healthy dog, too much iron can be lethal so this is possibly still a great product for healthy dogs (check with your vet :)). Lastly, Iron supplements for dogs have been very difficult for me to find, and when I needed it, this product was there. THANK YOU!Manija

Kudos to the fact it arrived 1 week early. I bought it to supplement my senior dogs diet. I was having a tough time finding something she could eat anymore so I started making her a puree with chicken, rice and veggies and I added this supplement to it. This product works great for my dog. She’s coonhound and beagle mix. When I first brought her home she shed something awful! HAIR WAS EVERYWHERE! I was at my wits end and so ready to rehome her due to the excess shedding. I stayed up all nite and googled and came across this product! She really loved the taste of it in the beginning, but now not so much, so I give her 1-2 tablespoons a day. I’m definitely keeping her on this for a while. It’s much more convenient than having to melt coconut oil and applying it on her food. The pro: it definitely works! Plus Petco does price match in store with online! The con: Can be a bit pricey, as You have to buy 2 or more bottles before you see results. And your pet may not like it! I suggest holding on to the receipt, as I bought one for a friend and their pet didn’t care for it. The instructions say to double the dose for the first 30 days depending on the weight of your pet. Cookie weighs about 25lbs. For the first 30days I had to give her 4 tablespoons a day sprinkled and mixed in her food. 2tblsp in the a.m and 2tblsp in the p.m. from the 16oz bottle so I ran out of the fish oil in less than a week. Sometimes there’s only 1 bottle on the shelf or store is out of stock.Chelle T

My baby pit bull loves this. She always seems hungry. Yet I feed her plenty and extra most days. Since adding this she seems satisfied for longer between feeding. I just drizzle most every bowl she eats with around a tablespoon. Her coat has become super shiny and smooth. Her dry patches at her elbows have gotten better as well. My baby had a tick bite on her neck that would not heal until started her on this. She also has more energy for play. And more responsive to new training. My big guy isn't exactly what you might call graceful. He's a dork. A giant clumsy dork. So little aches and pains are just a part of our life together. I'm taking ibuprofen because he's nearly pulled my shoulder out of socket after trying to run and hide from the wind and he's taking his doggy aspirin because he tripped over his own feet while running and now yelps every step he takes. These really do help. They're easy to give wrapped in a little bread or dipped in peanut butter. My only complaint is they're chewable but at least for my dog, he will absolutely not chew it on his own. Definitely recommend though especially at this price!jennifer.f

I combined this with Charlotte’s Web Hip and Joint hemp for my dog with osteoarthritis. She could barely walk for three days. After two hours of taking this she is running and playing around even in the cold weather. Ok, so I have a large breed dog in his senior years. I have raised him (from 9 weeks) on a large breed, good quality food. If you have a large breed dog, you know what that means. Per Vet recommendations, I have been supplementing his food and other meds with Free Form Snip Tips. They are VERY easy to use and give him the extra support he needs for his old joints. I just "snip the tip" off and squirt them over his food. Easy peasy. He is taking so much between Rx meds and supplements that I absolutely get online and price shop. My vet hates it because he either has to price match or let me get it elsewhere 😉 Anyway, Healthy Pets has been able to provide me with the best price and service. I was using the bite-sized chewable Omega 3 supplement "treats", and found that I hated to handle them. they would crumble when touched and it was a bit of a mess giving them to all three dogs. Then, I discovered the snap-tip capsule form and I think it's way better. The dog's coats really shine and there's no more chronic itching by my 13-year old girl. The capsules do smell strongly of fish oil and I have to handle them with rubber gloves on, because if I don't I have to scrub the smell off my fingers (sometimes twice) with a nail brush before it comes off. Very piercing fish smell! But, these caps really work, and the dogs love the taste of the oil in their food. I will stick with the caps from now on.rosie64

A veterinary orthopedist recommended this product for our dogs, and we really do believe it's helped with their joints, and over-all well being. I started them out on the capsules, but they got to where they wouldn't eat them. I find the "snips" too difficult to remove, and messy. We went to the liquid, and I just add two pumps to their food in the mornings. This works well, but my only complaint is that the liquid only comes in a 4 oz. size. I wish the company would consider offering an 8, 12 or 16 oz. size in the liquid.skhsk6

My dog has been having such problems with his skin, super itchy and has always been very sensitive. He licks a lot and creates hot spots etc… After he got an infection and we had to put a cone around his head this has helped sooooo much to clear up his skin condition! I have a 5 year old pocket bully who has allergies and very sensitive skin. This shampoo gives her noticeable relief as soon as shes out of the bath. I use in conjunction with the spray they also make. They have helped tremendously! If you have a fur baby who suffers with eczema, hot spots, yeast or any other skin issue please give them some relief and try this shampoo. Hands down the best dog shampoo. I have a 90lb Great Pyrenees with A LOT of fur and this shampoo makes her smell amazing! She is always so soft and her coat looks ap pretty once she is all dry. My dog is a short haired dog and doesn't require to much up keep. He does have some dry skin. He always has, so I have to make sure that whatever I use doesn't dry his skin out. When we got him groomed in the past our groomer used bio groom and she told us it was good for his skin. She used a different type but the same brand. I decided to go with the oatmeal shampoo and conditioner. I love it! His skin isn't dry, his coat looks smooth, and shiny plus he smells great! I will stick with this brand for now on.Leia

This shampoo should help my pups to not scratch and be itchy. They are scratching non stop since I've been using this shampoo! I'm not sure if it is an allergy or the shampoo. I have noticed that my pups do not stay clean smelling with this particular shampoo. I'm switching back to Bio Groom Whitening Shampoo and a different conditioner!K.C.

Please keep in mind that this is a holistic product. Much like humans, every dog is different and some are completely unaffected by natural medication. On the other hand, for some dogs it's a miracle worker. I have a 5 year old pug who spent the first 2 years of her life in a puppy mill. Then, the mill discarded her along with a few others at their nearest shelter. The shelter was full, so she was placed on "the list" .. Meanwhile, they contacted a rescue an hour or two away who took her in. Then I got her. She has the typical behavior of a puppy mill dog – even three years after getting out. She's a happy, sweet girl but is overly anxious, hyperactive and still not use to physical touch. She doesn't kiss, she isn't affectionate (at least not in the ways dogs normally are) and she is easily triggered and overly stimulated. She has a hard time relaxing, paces frequently and will run back and forth through my main hallway chasing imaginary cars. She honestly COULD probably be medicated by a vet, but I'm not a big fan of modern medicine for the most part unless it's absolutely, 100% needed. I always try holistics first. This product DOES actually work pretty well for my dog. It doesn't calm her completely but it does calm her some. I feel she is able to actually fully relax on this product, which is nice. However, the packaging isn't wonderful. No matter how you manipulate the bottle and dropper, you can only get about .8mL out, despite them recommending a full 1mL dropped (unless your pup is under 10lbs). Also, considering that my dog has some "autistic" characteristics, having to hold her down to give her this multiple times a day forces her to become even more stressed. So, I consider that another flaw. I am going to try to put it on her twice daily meals from now on and see what happens. Overall, I WOULD recommend this to people because the actual product does improve my dogs overall behavior. It's definitely worth a shot.THSx2009

I bought this product to use on both my puppy and my cat who I will be taking on an upcoming road trip. As many of the other reviews mention, the dosage is 1 dropper full for every ten pounds. For my 30 pound pup, this means three full droppers. She's a pretty patient girl, but this is a pretty annoying process to have to repeat three times and she was definitely getting antsy. Getting my 15 pound cat to open her mouth is difficult enough, and once she smelled the product, she started shaking her head and trying to get away, so we ended up with some of one dropper in her mouth and some on her coat and there was no way she was letting me give her another half of a dropper. On top of that, she almost immediately threw up, so it's pretty impossible to know if any actually went down. However, at just over an hour after, when I was ready to say this had been a complete failure, both girls calmed down and settled in for naps. Cats and puppies are both notorious nappers, so its hard to know for sure that this was the reason, but I think it's very possible that this product does work if you can actually get your pet to take it.Jen La

My little chihuahua will not eat her Pet Fresh food with this ground up in the food. I cut the tiny pink pill in half and crushed it into her bowl. She will smell her food and walk away, so this has not worked for her itchy problem. The pills might work for other breeds, but not for me. You will just have to order it and see, but maybe order one bottle instead of the pack of three.karen

I give this to my dog every month. I have to disguise it because he won't take it just by itself. However, I do notice it has formed black spots or some type of mold in it over time and I haven't given it to him since. This product cost quite a bit of money and for it to form some type of dark spots or mold, that's not good.Orra

My 14 yr old dog has mamary cancer. The vet told me the tumor was to big and he didnt think she would survive the surgery. So I took to the internet for home remedies. Love these kits. I have the small kit that I keep in my truck at all times and then a larger kit that I always have with me when on big hikes as well as in my off-grid camping trailer. With 3 dogs, all of which have health issues (and are magnets for trouble) this is a must. The only thing I wish was different was I wish these bags were insulated and a little bigger to leave space for meds that you may need/want to add for your specific pup. I have to carry some meds for all three of my monsters and in the summer it gets crazy hot. Having insulation to keep them more temperature-controlled would be a nice addition.FifinellaCA

Nice kit to have when I take my dog on hikes with me. But…. discovered that the hydrogen peroxide packet leaked and ruined everything else in the kit. The leak proof bag kept everything inside safe from the elements but not from itself! Will replace some of the contents but not the peroxide. Very disappointing.Paul

I received this product a couple of weeks ago and it has came in handy for our camping gear. I have three adventurous dogs who love the outdoors. I have had to rig up bandages and gear for them but this is so much better. Each product in this kit is well thought out for what you may need for a camping or hiking trip with your dogs. I may not need all of it at once but it gives me peace of mind knowing that it is right there at the ready if I do need it. Each product seems durable which is necessary with these type of items. The bag also comes in handy to store everything and keep it in a safe place that is also easily accessible. It is pretty light and has handles which makes it nice for clipping on to my dogs hiking vest. I am also pleased with the first aid handbook because sometimes I am not sure what to do in certain instances.
