First, the best parts: This harness works great! Rufus (catahoula leopard hound/mix) does not pull AT ALL anymore and he seemed to "get the idea" all on his own with little to know training . . . it is almost as if being led from the front j ust instantly changed his mentality. I have always been able to walk Rosie (American foxhound) like a puppy on a string and sometimes almost had to pull her (laziest foxhound anywhere) so it is also nice with her to not be pulling her by the neck . . . she plods happily along. It's easy to adjust, easy to put on, easy to take off, looks very nice, holds up well, does not chafe. Here is where there is room for improvement: as noted in some other reviews, the sizing is off, but what I noticed is a bit different . . . both dogs measure very close to the middle for the size I ordered (medium) but all of the straps had to be adjusted to the tightest it would go in order to fit and it still seems a bit loose around the FRONT. I tried turning it upside down as noted by the company in response to some of the reviews, but it seemed to fit almost the same. So you may want to order a size smaller or call the company before ordering to be sure that it is going to fit. The other thing I am not fond of is that the buckles seem to be right at the armpits and that bothers me probably more than it bothers the dogs. However, here is another upside! When my (adult) son accidentally put the harness on the dog incorrectly, we found that it can also be used with the D-ring on the back instead of the front (at least on these breeds) and it works beautifully, so if you want the leash to attach to the dog's back rather than to the front, it's sort of a "bonus" use of the harness. Rosie (the easy walker) seems to prefer this Other than the sizing issue (which is probably also the issue with where the buckle falls), I LOVE this harness and it has truly "turned my dog around . . . The chest adjustment is at its loosest, but the chest/belly straps are almost maxed out on tightness, so I couldn't size up to make it better fit my 50lb lab/chow mix. The chest strap also slips down with extreme pulling, which fortunately for my pup isn't super frequent, but it has tripped him once. I think the instructions say that the chest straps should be tightened if this happens, but they also say that the harness should be a T shape, and if I tighten the chest strap, it definitely pulls behind his front legs. This harnass lasted exactly three minutes. I put it on my dog, adjusted it, and she chewed it for a second and it completely tore. The company acknowledges that it can not withstand even a quick nip from your dog. Ridiculously poor quality. Their answer is for you to spend another 12.99 for a warranty to get another harnass which will do the same thing. Awful product that is expensive. Dismissive and unethical customer service. I really like the product. The two connection points give me more control over my reactive dog. A few months after purchase I noticed some of the nylon was unraveling near one of the box stitches. I contacted the company and provided pictures and they replaced it right away. Great product and great service.

As I previously stated I bought two of these harnesses in two different sizes. A small and a medium as I was not sure which would work. The small is a great fit for my 13 lb Shih Tzu. But this is summer and she is shaved down. I am going to use the medium size for winter to go over her sweaters and coats. I would recommend this harness to anyone. Love the double rings on the neck. The double snap buckles make putting it on a breeze and the 5 areas to adjust are great! This is especially true when you have a broad chested dog…the chest strap on most harnesses is too short and that causes the side straps to rub on the dogs front legs. This harness is beyond reasonable in pricing….far far cheaper than most pet store harnesses and far better made. This harness was recommended to me. It's being used on a rottie for tracking. The person who recommended it has used one for years and it still looks like new. As mentioned, based on the construction I think this will last a good long time. Shipping is extremely reasonable. I chose basic ground shipping for all of 5.00 and received this harness in 2 days. Unbelievable. Thank you petsafe for offering this extremely well fitted harness at a great price.
It is also possible to clip the leash to the front of the harness. A second lead can be connected to the hook on the back for a really strong puller. I like this harness better than the "Easy Walk" because it can be fitted better and quicker. Unlike the "Easy Walk" a dog can not slip out of it if they pull away from you. You also don't have to attach it to the regular collar as a back up if your dog slips out of it. I think it also fits better behind the front legs.Betty

The best harness, it's great for strong dogs and my Reggie is alot more comfortable in it. Great if walking in dark as has reflectors all over it. The handle is great when sometimes you just need that extra hold. It is very difficult to purchase a properly fitting harness for my dog. He is not broad shouldered and has a long, somewhat narrow torso relative to his overall size. I decided to follow the sizing chart and it fits him very well. The harness is a bit lower profile than others he has had previously, but it's easily the best fitting one he's had to this point.

Firstly, I never leave my harnesses on my dogs because they will chew through them. I take them off as soon as I get done with their walks. My dog weighs over 100 pounds and is very hyper. She would pull and drag me every single time I walked her. The first time I walked her with this harness she instantly stopped pulling. She does start to when she gets excited but immediately stops once she feels the pressures from the harness. This has helped 100%!!! I did see some reviews that said the seams were weak, this product doesn’t feel like the strongest material, although it has held up fine with us, at the same time it is way cheaper than most harnesses that have the comfort design made to fit large dogs. I adopted a pitbull. His biggest problem and almost only problem now is that he pulls ANYTIME we're outside. On walks, taking him to potty, anything. I bought this harness for him, only used it on one walk and the next day i took him outside and it broke. First I want to say for all your pet owners out there that keep a harness on their dog you're wrong you never keep a harness on a dog. The key is putting it on correctly which is not hard you must fit it to your dog and it must be tight or they can get right out of it as far as the ring goes on it it's made out of steel and it's welded it is not flimsy and for the person that left feedback about plastic Clips there are none. Just wow! Purchased this in the L/XL for my Bully/Boxer baby boy Bruno (he's 2 1/2 and about 60lbs) and pulls me everywhere even with his Springer choker on. I hated using a buzzer, hated using a choker, hated using the prong choker and he still pulled me everywhere. We are taking our first Road Trip at 3am with our other furbaby Rosie (Chihuahua 6lbs and 6 years old). This product does not stop pulling instantly or at all. My dog is always pulling on her lead so I tried this to see if it would help. I tried it for the first time and my dog dragged me down the street and there was no way of stopping her or getting her to slow down. I had to switch to a different product in the middle of our walk to control her. I think this product only stops dogs that weigh enough for you to control their pulling. If your dog is heavy like mine (30kg) and you have 30kg pulling then unless you're strong enough to control the weight this product doesn't work.Ren

I ve found the different companies size these differently and sometimes the xs is too small and sometimes the small is too big. Bought this for my pom Jacob. Needed a trachea friendly harness. Had the right measurements, it fit around his body but not his neck. He's a puppy mill rescue so he has a lot of fears. He didn't like it going over his head or how it constricted his shoulders. It even looked uncomfortable. However, I liked the one I got my Max so much, I got one in red for Jacob and that one was a hit! I wouldn't recommend this item for a fluffy dog but maybe on a short coated dog it would be ok.Christa G
I love the fact that this harness is very lightweight and easy to put on. My dog's neck measured 12 inches and his girth measured 20 inches, his weight is 22 pounds, so I bought the large. The harness fits very nicely. I also noticed that my dog is much more calmer when walking, and he does not pull like he did with his collar and leash. Very pleased with this product!

This is a good product. It is a really long harness so it bunches up in the middle when my dogs sit and when we are walking sometimes. The quality of the material is good and I do not feel like they are going to pull out of the harness. I do have an issue with the sizing chart. I got a large because that is what I normally have to get for my labs and then after the order looked at the chart. It showed that I should have gotten an XL at least. I picked this harness because it looked comfortable and tough, both highly important things when it comes to gear my dog wears. My dog is a husky/border collie mix and walking him with only a collar is unpleasant for both him and me. With this harness I have much better control with him, and he seems happy to wear it. What a fantastic harness! My 90 pound dood is a consummate outdoorspoodle and now he can pack his own water, snacks, and frisbee thanks to the bungee cord feature. The harness is wonderfully customizable. I have a Huge, deep chested giant pal who is wearing the 2-3X size. The straps are incredibly adjustable at the shoulder, neck, and across the girth to fit a wide variety of pup shapes. The material is extremely durable, seems to resist staining (I give it a quick rinse when my mudpuppy has really had fun), and most important, the harness is lightly padded for comfort. My pal literally jumps for joy when he sees it because he knows he's off on an adventure. I also love the bright yellow which pops at night when we are out exploring. The bungee cording is threaded though material that feels like the hook side of velcro. I plan to purchase the Backcountry X Petco Go Bag so we can carry even more fun along on our adventures.
