I bought this in a medium a week ago and I've used it around 2-3 times already. I have a maltipoo and she has a tendency to pull and try to go faster/farther and it would cause her to choke in her previous harness. However, not a single time since I've started using this has she choked/gagged. The sizing is a bit off for her though, since a small is too tight but a medium is too loose (but the medium isn't loose enough for it to be unsafe/falling). This harness is true to its name and is so helpful for dogs that try pulling and end up choking. It's also super softer than her old one. I also bought a small for my yorkie and I think she loves it! Normally she hates harnesses but this one she doesn't seem to mind! I feel like it makes her more comfortable when she's walking as her previous ones weren't the most softest like this. This is my third Gooby harness. Small size worked well when she was a puppy. She outgrew the Small we got her a medium and there was a small sign of tearing on this harness when we upgraded her to large. We got her the large pink and the fabric tore in half. The black fabric on the edge was the only thing keeping it together. Our dog weighs 18lbs but she’s built like a tank. If you have a dog that pulls I wouldn’t recommend this harness. I've tried numerous harnesses and never loved any until this one. I have a miniature rat terrier who is 13.5 lbs. He tends to be too big for mediums and way too small for large sizes. Finally, this harness fits perfectly in Medium! There's even a little room to spare in case he gets larger. We wanted to take off pressure from his neck and the v neck design and light weight, soft mesh is great! It's by far the softest one I've ever felt, and I've tried every one at multiple stores. It's so comfortable that it could be left on all the time even in summer since it's so breathable. My dog lives it too! He seems to feel safe and calmer in it like a thunder shirt makes him feel. The first time I took him on a walk he seemed to feel "free". He was so happy to pounce around without worrying about a jerk in his neck. We give this one 5 stars!!!! I got this in black, size medium from Amazon. She has a 12" neck and a 19" chest. This harness is adjustable around both neck and chest. My pup has a high chase drive and will sometimes pull suddenly. I like that the x-shape doesn't put as much pressure on her throat when she pulls, and the double d-rings and buckle closure feel very secure for her leash. As I previously stated I bought two of these harnesses in two different sizes. A small and a medium as I was not sure which would work. The small is a great fit for my 13 lb Shih Tzu. But this is summer and she is shaved down. I am going to use the medium size for winter to go over her sweaters and coats. I needed a waterproof harness and she is insane about the sport so her training and manners go by the wayside so she pulls like a plow horse! Usually, we get a size large harness for our dog (50lbs, Australian Shepard). However, this large was too big, but would be fine as a normal XL harness. It does not get small/tight enough with the one adjustable point it has. It comes with a d-ring in the front, which is nice to help combat pulling if you’re going that route. I purchased this harness in medium at my local Walmart store. I love it!! It is the ONLY harness my dog cannot manage to slip out of (believe me, she tried). Great but had to get an xlarge for my 20 ib dog. Won't fit much bigger than than. Good thing I read reviews about size. I would say the most an extra large would fit would possibly be 25 lbs. I recently bought the extra small orange harness at a local pet store for a Pomeranian puppy we're getting. It's soft and flexible, yet sturdy and the sliding clip is very secure. It has a slider closer, which is great for tiny dogs that have lots of hair (hair won't get caught in the clip!). I loved the harness so much, that I came here to get a small one for our full grown male Pom. He weighs 5lbs and has a very thick coat, which was always getting caught in his old harness's clip. We walk often, so I wanted something comfortable for him. I ordered the khaki harness. In the picture, the leash looks like it's beige with brown and white stripes, but in reality, it's beige with brown and vibrant pink stripes. Bought this for a male dog. Guess real men wear pink? He's tiny and effeminate enough…Fay
