It's an indulgence for him. The toy initially lasted for about a month or two, but as he got adept at locating the squeaker, they did not last long. There was one time where he gutted the dragon in 6 seconds – got that squeaker and it was a dead dragon. I took a break from buying him plushies then. But he also got more surgical in his gutting of the dragons. Only the section where the squeaker is located is torn apart. I just sew the dragon back up – no squeaker but still works as a toy. Of course he began to associate my car with having dragons in it as he now checks my car to see if there are any new dragons lurking about. I keep the replacement dragon in the car until the old one would be totally destroyed. His current old dragon is now missing a wing. I already have a replacement dragon ready for him. This Dragon is my dog's favorite, she loves it! I must say though it only lasts if you play with them. I absolutely recommend this brand to any dog owner. I feel that it could be a tad pricey but it's so worth it. I have a container of dog toys that my 14 lb Cavapoo ripped open that I have to sew back together. She has had this toy for probably about 8 months and has not put the slightest hole in it. This is the only fabric toy I have gotten my dog that lasts more than a week or two. My bluetick coonhound loves to rip up his toys and pull out the squeaker usually within a few days. The first time I got this dragon toy, it lasted the longest of all his toys (about 3-4 weeks before the squeaker came out), and he still enjoyed playing with it and chewing on it even after the squeaker was gone. I got him a second one in July and it has kept its squeaker and stayed in great condition (minus a couple legs and part of his head) over 4 MONTHS later. I’m astounded! He picks it up and plays with it regularly, he just loves making it squeak because it has a more powerful and firm squeaker than most toys. My pup loves it! I have a year old German Shepherd and I’m amazed she hasn’t obliterated it. She’s made one small hole and surprisingly the hole hasn’t grown and it hasn’t torn during tug of war. My field spaniel had an old one like this that was in shreds, but he loved it best of all. He saw this new one, and immediately abandoned old Dragon. This new Dragon has not been out of his mouth all day except to eat. It is very well made and tough toy. It is of good size, not a small toy, and I'm sure it will be cherished for years.istari012001
I have bought a couple of these GoDog toys for my rescued beagle cross girl. She is a BIG chewer and has powerful teeth. This is one of the only dog toys I have come across that really does live up to its claims of being virtually indestructible (obviously with supervised play). Mighty dog toys are pretty good for my dogs (2 chihuahuas and a lab) who like to play chase and tug mostly. center seams are the weakest, and sometimes i'll have to restitch a hole from tug of war, but these soft toys last by far the longest in comparison to other brands we've tried. Overall i would recommend this brand to those with dogs who treat their toys like babies. If you have a real destructive chewer, plush toys are your enemy.Nikki
