It's a so-so PURCHASE for the price compared to the high-cost brands. The metal frame is light-weight and the canvas is medium-weight. The material sags slightly and my dogs are not flat when they lay on it. I purchased an extra large for a small/15 lbs and medium/40 lbs dog to share because they refuse separate anything and for space considerations. You'll need a large floor space, so you don't trip over frame corners in walk area. My dogs will not lay on it for extended time; they prefer the floor or their cheap dog pillows. I tried adding a soft, fluffy, over-sized blanket, but it didn't improve their use of the bed. The manufacturing quality of the bed is great! All parts were in perfect condition. That's a rare thing anymore, so I'd give them 5 stars on manufacturing. ASSEMBLY was a big pain. It took a lot of strategy to get the screws to drive in straight. DELIVERY was about 2 weeks using standard. The openings of the box were in bad shape upon delivery. Fortunately, the tape kept it from losing contents. This is a great bed for any pets. I used it on my dogs so they can lie elevated above the floor should they chose too. If you have a kenneled dog, this would be great for them. Gets them off the floor. Cooler in summer and warmer in winter. I have several other beds that are similar, but nowhere near as good a price as these. My sister saw mine and will be ordering some for her dogs. Really well made at a very good price. Very happy. It is possible for the dog to chew the corners, if they are VERY determined to do so, but for dogs that are not serious chewers, I would call this a chew resistant bed. I got the K&H Pet Products – K&H Elevated Cozy Cot Pet Bed and I couldn't be happier. My dog always wants to sit next to me or on me. Now he is in his little bed and I xan pet him, comfortably from my chair while watching TV. This os a perfect bed for a smaller dog or cat. My dog in the pictute is around 24 lb miniature poodle, he fits fine. I wouldn't recommend it for a much bigger dog. The bed has two textures. The gray is a strong smooth fabric very strong like canvas or denim. The light gray is soft and padded. It open up like a folding chair but, it locks into place so its very safe. And it isnt super high so a small dog can get in and out on his own. The bottom feels rubberized for water proofing. This bed works well inside and outside. I am pleased with and will be using it. I have several beds for my dog throughout my apartment at least one in every room, so he can sleep comfortably. I like this bed a lot since its easy to move and looks easy to clean. As a fur baby mommy I always want them to be as comfortable as possible. During the winter months I don’t like that they have to lay on the floor. Well that’s all over now. Our dog enjoys this bed! The XL fits our 170lb mastiff comfortably. I was happy to finally find a pet bed large enough to fit him and the price point for such a large pet bed can’t be beat. It took a few times of coaxing him to get on, but once he discovered that it was stable and safe he now happily lays on it. We use it outside so he can avoid laying on our concrete patio. Talk about an amazing bed for dogs! I purchased one of these to try out in hopes my picky dogs would enjoy it. Boy was I surprised that all three of my furry babies fell in love! They have always used more traditional type beds and this was a totally new experience. First of all, it needed to be assembled. When it arrives you see all kinds of tubes that need to be connected to set up the bed. The directions say it should take about 20 minutes to assemble for 1 person. We did not find that to be true and the instructions are not as clear as I believe they could be. It took my husband and myself well over an hour to get this bed right. Lining up the pieces and getting the connecters in tight was much more work than we anticipated. As far as how my dogs like it, one is still afraid of it after having it over a week and the other likes it pretty well. So the reaction to it was a bit mixed. To be fair, the dog who is afraid of it has a tendency to be a bit wimpy about things in general. The dog who likes it really doesn't sleep on it much, she just likes sitting on it to look out the window. My dog loves this cot and I think it’s pretty great too, especially since she loves it. The only change I would recommend to the company though is for the stuffing in the bolster to be bagged so that the bolster cover could easily be washed. My dog loves her bolster, but when she gets drool on it, it’d be nice if the stuffing was self-contained inside to be pulled out easily for the cover to be washed quickly as it says it’s machine washable.Jerseygalrocker

Helinox is an incredible brand. Their products really are the best engineered, highest quality products on the market. This is probably a 5 star item based on quality, but I was disappointed that the long poles don't break down, making this longer than any of my Helinox human cots, which makes packing a bit more complicated. I bought the elevated dog caught for our family dog because it gets extremely hot where we live and after a walk in the evening Roscoe is extremely hot and he’s desperately trying to find a way to cool down. So I purchased the cot in order for him to lay on it to have air flowing under him to cool. When I assembled it and put it in the family room, he immediately went and laid on it understanding that it was for him. It was humorous to see that he immediately personalized it by dragging his blankets onto it to give it his scent as well as him rolling around on it, once he figured out how to get comfortable on it it was nice to see that he used it regularly. It’s extremely well-made and the cot portion and durable aluminum legs are typical Helinox quality and I believe dog claws will have no effect on it. I also love that it can be taken apart easily and taken with you to go camping or other places where you need a way to elevate your dog to be off the hot ground or the cold ground. It is also very stable the way the feet are designed and at no point have I ever seen a tip over. I appreciate that Helinox also cares about our pets safety and comfort.James C.

I C some people complain about how hard the 4th leg is 2 get on. I found if I keep twisting the last leg U can finally get the leg closer 2 fitting in, then do 1- hard push from the shorter leg & it will go into the 4th leg. I'm sure a good stronger person can do it quicker than I could, I went 2 the manufactures site & a few people suggested & it worked 4 me.As far as the woman who complained her mesh was torn, I am sure that pets.com would replace it. I have had similar style raised beds for my cats that were made with metal frames. After sitting outside for any amount of time those metal frame beds will rust. My cats spend their days on our wood balcony and the floor is stained from the last bed rusting. I specifically searched for a bed with plastic components and came upon this bed. I received the bed yesterday and couldn't be more pleased. I knew assembling the bed would be difficult, as the frame fits together VERY tightly. Getting it together was a chore, and I was afraid I was going to rip the fabric from the amount of force needed to get that last corner together, but I finally got it and if I ever need to get the cover off it will probably need to be cut off. The bed is high quality, very sturdy pvc frame with sturdy mesh fabric that looks like it will dry very nicely after getting wet, also will be very breathable and cool in the summer. I would not hesitate to order another of these as my cats are already loving it. I'm glad I can order new covers when needed and keep the existing frame because it will probably last forever. I thought they might be difficult to put together but to my surprise, they were super easy to put together! I'm very pleased. My puppies are 15 weeks and chew on everything. They sure tried to chew on these, but gave up quickly when they were not able to chew through the piping OR the cover. The size is perfect, since even when they are full grown, both of them will be able to cuddle on this. I will be putting them in separate open-top crates that are about 20 inches wide, so these are perfect to keep them up off the crate bottom on one end. It will be super easy to keep clean. He was not sure what to make of it but I invited him up on it and the rest is history. He know uses it daily. It's plenty big to stretch out on and he acts like he is the king from high on his "perch". I bought this last summer for my senior dog, thinking it would be easier on his joints and also keep him cooler when he was resting on the back porch. It took some muscle, but I was able to put it together as directed without any tools. He didn't use it a lot, but I was pleased to see him on it occasionally, when it was particularly hot or cold outside. But yesterday the plastic piece that connects the side edge to the middle support leg sheared off. So after about 9 months of very light use, it is broken and unfixable. They have always used more traditional type beds and this was a totally new experience. First of all, it needed to be assembled. When it arrives you see all kinds of tubes that need to be connected to set up the bed. The directions say it should take about 20 minutes to assemble for 1 person. We did not find that to be true and the instructions are not as clear as I believe they could be. It took my husband and myself well over an hour to get this bed right. Lining up the pieces and getting the connecters in tight was much more work than we anticipated. As far as how my dogs like it, one is still afraid of it after having it over a week and the other likes it pretty well. So the reaction to it was a bit mixed. To be fair, the dog who is afraid of it has a tendency to be a bit wimpy about things in general. The dog who likes it really doesn't sleep on it much, she just likes sitting on it to look out the window. The material is canvas like and I am not sure she finds it that comfortable to lay on, plus the middle kind of sinks down a bit and is not supportive. plastic parts have nubs that stop the side bars, when I pushed ( not very hard) the plastic piece snapped and broke. I found a way to fix it with long splints and zip ties, but very disappointed it broke. also, instructions say the middle legs should be facing in, but the middle support bar won't fit, so one one middle leg has to be on the outside of the frame and the other has to be on the outside of the frame. In addition the material in the middle sags, even without a dog laying on it. Glad I have small dogs. They do love it, but will eventually have to replace the zip ties and wooden splints, as I do have a chewer.Lila

Yes, I would recommend. Yes, it is a good value, and yes, it is of good quality. The why did I give it a rating of 3 stars? Well, because the picture is deceiving. So, I guess I'm rating the seller verses the product. That looks like a good sized dog, at least, 55 – 60 lbs minimum. It's stretched so prettily on the gorgeous red cot. Warning: Pay very close attention to the measurements! If the cot pictured is the same size cot I purchased for my dog, I'm tempted to say I'll eat my hat. My dog is on the small side. She is about 37 lbs and under 3 feet long. She takes up nearly the whole cot when she's laying on it. I've had other cots for large dogs that were considerably more roomy. This does not detract from the quality or value of the cot. I just forewarn do not use the picture as a point of reference for size, do an actual measurement.ajul6163
I have 3 chihuahuas ranging in size from 10 lbs, 17 lbs, and 25 lbs. This bed is big enough to fit all 3 of them. So far only one of them has hopped up on it and she seems to like it. It's only a matter of time before they all try it out. My back porch has an awning so I put it there so it won't be affected by the weather. I wanted an elevated bed because when it rains heavy the water starts to flow onto the porch because the patio to the side of my porch has a crack in the cement and slopes downward in the direction of my porch. The last bed I had on the porch wasn't elevated and it got soaked and dirty. Assembly was pretty easy to do by myself. My dogs aren't chewers or destructive so I expect this bed will last them for several years. I'm very happy I bought it.JKR
This is a high quality, easy to put together bed. I was not sure about the large size and my bigger springer spaniel would like to claim it as his own, but his smaller brother gets up by him to snuggle and enjoy the bed. The smaller one just prefers it to the orthopedic bed on the floor. Will probably buy another smaller one after the holiday, because I'm so happy with the item. I will get the same brand and hope to buy from the same seller because the shipping was fast and instructions were so clear. Thanks for making our life nicer.
