Recieved a 3oz bottle of Vetericyn Plus Hotspot Antimicrobial Hydrogel for free in exchange for an honest review. I have to say, this stuff is amazing! My lab/beagle mix suffers from skin allergies, and the poor thing will scratch and chew herself until she bleeds, so I was very eager to try this product. The day I received it, I rubbed down her belly with it (this is where she itches the most) and it seemed like she felt instant relief. When she starts scratching, I apply a thin layer of the gel and she stops almost immediately. And it lasts for hours! I love that it is a non-toxic alternative to antibiotics and steroids for a safer way to relieve skin, and vet approved. It's comforting to know that it won't make her sick if she licks it, and is made with ingredients I can pronounce. I wish I had known about this product sooner!JRivera

My cat seems to have a habit of biting her fur off, usually after I have put flea medication on her. We have discovered she is a bit allergic to ingredients in most flea medication. My poor pupper got irritated paws from horrible ginko berries smashed all over the fall ground and then made them worse by licking. They were so red and I felt so bad. This product is on the shelf next to a dozen others that claim to do the same thing, but I didn't get to it until three others didn't get the job done. This showed visible improvement within a day. Bonus that he didn't lick it off – before I tried this I would combo an antimicrobial with one of those "bitter taste dogs hate" sprays, but my dog is weird and loved those things and would lick them like crazy. I'd have to wrap his paws and watch him like a hawk. Not so with this! He stays away from it so it can work…bonus points bc spray plus consistency is easy application. I have a AKC Brussels Griffon female who has had ear infections since a very young age. The vet has wanted to do surgery on her for a long time. I had her ears cropped because, when born, they were huge! and I could forsee infections coming in her future. She is now 11 years old and that prediction has come true. I'm sure she's had the headaches that go with them. I've tried several ways to keep her ears clean but NEVER stick anything into the ear, used only approved methods of putting drops in, myself, waiting for the VET to do manual digging if needed. This is a serious issue with her, but my other Griffons have not had this issue, only her. After trying several solutions, I have found this product to be most effective in helping relieve her pain and control the ear wax buildup even as good or better than Hydrogen Peroxide without the danger of getting it in her eyes. She tolerates this well as there is no bubbling sound for her to cope with and it helps numb pain. Not a smell to avoid. This product is worth the money if your animal has ear issues as mine has had. My cat has major ear wax/dirt in both ears and it's not ear mites either. It's been a pain to get them clean, she hates me cleaning them. With this product I can put it in and clean her ears out relatively fast and it makes her happy and me too. I definitely would recommend it!!mwtravel3

My labradoodle has recurrent ear "issues" – sometimes infections, sometimes just irritations. I think she developed some resistance to antibiotics, and I think its a bit ridiculous to treat her ears with antibiotics so frequently, so we were looking for an alternative cleanser and treatment. I used the treatment for 10days when we first got it, and that seems to have cleared her ears up. We use the cleanser at least weekly to keep up with keeping her ears clean and happy. She has big floppy ears, and she plays in the woods/streams daily – she's a dirty pup; keeping her ears clean and infection free is a full time job, but this product seems to help. I'll continue to use it frequently. It's easy to use. Not messy or smelly. The dog tolerates it well. Bonny has always had a problem with her ears and have tried lots of different products to keep her ears clean. This one is the best by far, excellent. After treating her ears, once again, I now use this just twice a week and have no problem since and we are keeping on top of it with this product, think the nozzle for inserting the cleaner helps it gets the liquid right where it needs to be and a lot less messy then some I have used.Maxine S

My sharpei was shaking her head and her ear was red. After one use ear was soothed . After three uses ear clean and no longer any inflammation. I bought this product Saturday and used it Sunday on my mare since she got her foot stuck in the fence and she pull it out and ripped off the hid of her ankle right above the coronary band. I used many products before I bought and used this product! With that being said I put this on the huge cuts Sunday, then went and checked it today (Monday) and I saw a huge difference in the healing process. It completely works, it is however a little pricey but it you have wounds that are not healing on your horse or even dogs it works like magic to heal the old or new wound within a 24hr period. I have used this product for years on my two horses and wow does it work. I love that it not only helps keep minor cuts and scrapes clean while healing them. A little of the product goes a long way. My cat has had a chronic ear issue for the past year or so, has developed acute swelling in his face and most recently suddenly developed a large lump under the affected ear. He has been treated by the vet w/ various meds and is on Prednisone. Everything tried has only worked temporarily and his ear and sinus infections have become chronic. He is 15 and the vet doesn't give hm much chance at improving. He has had various allergy issues most of his life. Regular ear cleanings by the vet seemed to improve his condition, so when I found out about Zymox I decided to give it a try. Well, after 7 days of treatment, the lump has all but disappeared and his sinuses are finally draining, reducing the swelling in his face ! I chose Zymox Hydrocortisone free because of all the meds he's been bombarded with, will treat him for 14 days to see where this takes us, but am VERY optimistic ! The vet is impressed and since he knows about Zymox, am disappointed he didn't recommend it sooner. The only problem now is he had gone off his food and I have been finger feeding him as well as spritzing water into his mouth. He had lost 2lbs from refusing food, but seems to be bouncing back. Any suggestions for the loss of appetite possibly brought on by the fact he may not be smelling as well and eating may have become difficult from the sinus issue ? The loss of appetite is recent, otherwise w/ the Prednisone he was eating up a storm !natthecat

My staffy has been itching her ears for some time, resulting in lots of sores and scabbing. I used this as soon as it was delivered and the results were immediate. She had been quite restless in the past few days that I put down to the heat but when I applied this ear cleaner she instantly calmed down, so I believe she was suffering with her ears. Delivered in two days. This product seems to be working as advertised. My Great Pyrenees had a yeast infection in her left ear. I tried other products but they didn't help. My Lab/Weimaraner has the biggest floppiest most beautiful soft and silky ears in the world. When he shakes his head they flap sheets on the clothesline on a windy day. But they were itchy and smelly and he had gotten sores on the tips of them from flapping them into things, He was miserable, I was miserable. The ear flush the vet gave me was less than useless and my dog hated it. I bought Zymox ear cleanser and Zymox Otic with hydrocortisone. Ordered this product after doing research online for what I was SURE was an ear infection in our American bulldog, but was hesitant to get another large vet bill after a recent eye injury that left us $500 in the hole. Wasn't sure at first that this product was working, my dogs ear was cherry red, inflamed, smelly and scabbed over due to his scratching at the ear. After the first few treatments the ear was not looking much improved and was still really 'yucky.' But we decided to wait it out and follow through with the treatment and let me say, today was day 5 and our pup woke up looking 99% improved! There is a very peculiar odor with this ear wash. I purchased it because I needed something to keep my puppies long floppy ears clean! The first time I used it, I couldn't get the smell out of my nose! It was pretty strong, my husband thinks it smells like Worcestershire Sauce while my friend thought it smelled like Big Red Cinnamon gum. Okay so… pictures say enough! This was clean number 2 day 2. My baby had a red ear I noticed the other day, ran to #petvalu and was suggested this. AMAZING. Smells friggen delicious for 1… very gentle feeling, cuts on my fingers were unbothered. My dog was UNBOTHERED for the most part 😅. And he does noooot like to be cleaned up for long periods of time but this time he let me put this cleaner in, massage and clean the ear canal. It helps a TON and honestly I thought about using it on myself LOL. My dog is a little scared of the liquid going in, so when he sees the bottle he runs, so maybe change the bottle appearance up monthly for us 😉and make the application easier for runners because i did waste quite a bit when trying to pour it in his ear and he would flatten it backwards causing all the liquid to spill.. still a 10/10 for me and my pup. One of our cats had polyps removed from one of his ears a couple of years ago. His ear has remained sensitive and vulnerable to infection. I was using Epi-Otic to clean his ear. It was somewhat effective but really stressed my cat. The Ark Naturals lotion is gentler and more effective. It's definitely more natural and my cat is much less stressed after I use this lotion, he even seems happy. It's liquid drops, not thick like lotion. I put some in a small plastic squeeze bottle that I got from my vet. I warm the 'lotion' in warm water then test the temperature on the inside of my wrist before putting it in my cat's ear. The smaller bottle is easier to handle and it's quicker to warm.Tazzee

Don't know if it works yet. Just started using for a foster cat with bad ear mites (product only states that regular cleaning helps prevent mites, not that product will resolve mites). His ears are inflamed. IMO, design needs improvement: Instructions say to use 5-10 drops, but bottle has flat, wide flip lid. Drops come out big and fast – not cat friendly at all. Needs a dropper with measurements, and perhaps include how many milliliters equals 5-10 drops on the instructions. Will report back if the product if this works for the ear mites.BNeu

I've used this product for several years on my dog and three cats. It's all natural ingredients….no harsh chemicals. I pour about two ounces into an empty eyedropper bottle and warm it for a few minutes before putting into their ears. They don't mind it because it doesn't burn their ears like the stuff from the vet does. It gets rid of ear mites and yeast infections with just a couple of treatments. Ark used to have a neat "spout" applicator on the top of the bottle, but how it's just a big awkward squirt top that goes everywhere. Don't even try to apply it directly from the bottle….it could get into their eyes. But it's worth the trouble to put it into some other kind of applicator bottle, because the product is excellent.yssolvic.b

I wasn't sure if my Lab pup (65 pounds, 8 months old) had mites or a double ear infection. All I knew was that he constantly was digging at his ears until they would bleed and be all red and inflamed from him rubbing and scratching. I cleaned them with peroxide, saline flush, cutips, and cotton balls everyday because I felt bad for him but I thought he just had dirty ears. When I googled ear mites, the red/black goop fit the description of mites, but google said you should be able to see them with the naked eye and I never saw anything at all. I had this overnighted, hoping it would do as it says on the bottle and what others had said about the drops and produce a miracle and save me a pricey vet trip. Tomorrow will be his third treatment. I fill up his ears and massage for a few minutes and let him shake out the excess. It says on the bottle every other day. I'm telling you, hours after the FIRST treatment, he stopped scratching so viciously at his ears. Yesterday was his second treatment. His ears still had dark red goop, but I swear it was gone by over half. AND they weren't red and inflamed, nor did he whine or pause at all while I gave him his treatment. He has not scratched at his ears since his first treatment and I'm willing to bet that tomorrow the red goop will be all but gone. I ordered this for my elderly Boston Terrier. She has always struggled with skin and allergy issues, but they've gotten increasingly worse with age. Over the past week, we've noticed she's not itching herself against the furniture nearly as much and her red patches are starting to clear up. Of course, it will take a while longer to see better results, but so far we are super happy about Finn's new product. My pup already loves Finn treats and she has had some issues with allergies so I was intrigued by this new supplement. I've used bee propolis products for my own immune health, but I never thought about how it could be helpful for dogs too! I was on frontline for years but when I thought I saw a couple fleas on my dogs in September 2020, I decided to make a switch to Advantage II for my cats and Advantix II for my dogs— BIGGEST mistake of my life (seriously, like over any horrible exes). I have $515.97 in receipts I submitted to the company (which was as horrible as the experience, which I will get to) and spent an additional $70 in store (in which I cannot find the receipt) since September 2020 to December. I followed every tip on the website and insert and my animals were still covered. I applied perfectly. I applied initially weekly, vacuum daily, steam cleaned, wash bedding constantly, etc. I don’t even have carpet but on the stairs and have treated the stairs and couches with Predcor. I even bought those flea traps with the sticky bottoms. I am not including any of this in that total I spent– that was all on the flea medications themselves for the 6 animals. I have saved some, not all, of the vials so on 11/13 I called Elanco. They denied my request for any type of refund. They questioned my exact dosage dates and frequency more than a doctor wants to know about your menstrual cycles but I took my best guesses, for all 6 animals although I did know what schedule they were on but didn't have it in front of me. Then they said that the product was probably not working because I bathed my dogs initially at the beginning 48 hours before application?? Their website TELLS you to bathe them before application (see 2nd screenshot posted)! I stopped bathing them after the 2nd application as it wasn't working and the dogs were miserable and only tried 2 cats (and really only 1 successfully because we all know how that goes). They then told me that I didn't give the product long enough?? Their website states (see 3rd screenshot) and is the same for Advantage II "K9 Advantix® II kills fleas within 12 hours. New fleas that jump on the dog from the surroundings, such as grass, carpet and pet bedding, are killed within 2 hours with protection against further infestation for at least 4 weeks." I tried their products, $600 worth on 6 animals, as scheduled, no missed doses for 4 months. I can’t blame it on just one animal or one batch—it didn’t work on 6, or one batch! I am very upset. Not only have I wasted money on these but I have bought corresponding products, sprays for the beddings, flea traps, etc. I FINALLY called Terminex and had to spend 12 hours clearing out under my beds, closets, getting everything off my floors, moving furniture etc. (time I will never get back) and getting my children and pets out of the house and went back to the brand that works: FRONTLINE! NO MORE FLEAS– what I should have done in the first place. I am so upset not by the fact that the product didn't work but by the way the company handled it, dodging any responsibility from blaming it on the baths they recommend to the length of time I gave it when they could have just refunded me and had someone that isn't going to not only post this review every place I bought it (not just here) but every other place that allows a review to include social media.Intelhottie

We bought Advantix liquid application anti-flea and tick treatment because it is effective, was less expensive and did not require a prescription. We had easily and successfully used liquid Advantix for years with our Plott hound mix. We now have a beagle. Beagle hair is different; it's thick, coarse, oily, kind of water proof and difficult to part in order to properly apply the liquid to the skin. Advantix is a very good product, but pet owners may want to assess their pet's coat to determine how the liquid application could be applied.Gary

My dog was getting ticks so I purchased this. I have used it in the past with great success when it had the Bayer logo on it . The one I received has the Elanco brand logo on it. I used 1 bottle and It was like I used nothing at all. Mind you I walk my dog and when he comes in the house I would find 2 or 3 live ticks walking on him. So I figured ok maybe it didnt work or I didnt wait long enough. After about 10 days of this I applied another bottle and again nothing. He still kept coming in the house with ticks every time. So I'm not sure exactly what's going on but the package I received appeared to be authentic. All serial numbers matched and packages were sealed well. Never had this happen before but definitely going back to Frontline Plus.kschoern

Terrible experience. Took almost a month to arrive. On arrival, the shipping bag was fine. The box inside was mangled and torn. The product leaked out of water immediately after I followed the directions to set up the traps. The traps are very cheap. Totally junk. I don't care for it. my cat fish can works better I have them set out . Only I put canola oil and soy sauce in the little center. It does keep the cats from licking the oil up. I only get a few earwigs with this and with the cat food cans I get loads of earwigs.bobejm
