As I previously stated I bought two of these harnesses in two different sizes. A small and a medium as I was not sure which would work. The small is a great fit for my 13 lb Shih Tzu. But this is summer and she is shaved down. I am going to use the medium size for winter to go over her sweaters and coats. I've tried numerous harnesses and never loved any until this one. I have a miniature rat terrier who is 13.5 lbs. He tends to be too big for mediums and way too small for large sizes. Finally, this harness fits perfectly in Medium! There's even a little room to spare in case he gets larger. We wanted to take off pressure from his neck and the v neck design and light weight, soft mesh is great! It's by far the softest one I've ever felt, and I've tried every one at multiple stores. It's so comfortable that it could be left on all the time even in summer since it's so breathable. My dog lives it too! He seems to feel safe and calmer in it like a thunder shirt makes him feel. The first time I took him on a walk he seemed to feel "free". He was so happy to pounce around without worrying about a jerk in his neck. We give this one 5 stars!!!! I got this in black, size medium from Amazon. She has a 12" neck and a 19" chest. This harness is adjustable around both neck and chest. My pup has a high chase drive and will sometimes pull suddenly. I like that the x-shape doesn't put as much pressure on her throat when she pulls, and the double d-rings and buckle closure feel very secure for her leash. Why did I need to buy so many one may ask…becauae that is how many the puppy chewed through in that period of time. I ended up switching brands after the 6th one. When these first came out on QVC my husband and I got it for our puggle dog Butchy. Half pug the daddy Sir Manny and beagle mama Dam: Misty. We got Butch from a reputable breeder in Southeastern Indiana, a lovely farm and happiest place on earth for puppies to run and play. 🙂 Butch got a lot of his Amish mama's traits laid back most of the time but at times ornery full of energy and running after critters mostly squirls that he pulled his ACL jumping off the deck and running after one and had to have his leg in a special cast and had to wear the cone of shame for a few weeks lol. Did he learn his lesson nope lol! Over the years we tried many harnesses, but none would work only but this one. I can't thank you enough for your product how it helped train Butch when old enough to walk with a harness lead to be more calm and more in control and a happy walker instead of tugging and pulling or he would have a tantrum sit and not budge lol. Years pass quickly to be suddanly mid 60s and senior and the harness was used often and is still in good shape after 10+ years and tucked away. My husband and Butch recently passed on 2 years ago a few days from each other of cancer and are together in heaven. Thank you again for putting love and care into your harness. My awesome dog is a firecracker and tends to pull when she goes for a walk. This is the easiest leash I have ever used. It does not choke her; it is designed to go across her chest not her throat. Its simplicity is Ingenious, it's quick and easy to put on/take off and most importantly she doesn't hurt herself if she tries to pull away… I keep it near her Bug Out Bag by the front door (for Fire Evacuations and Earthquakes). The length is perfect, it's thick and the strongest leash I own so I'm not going to worry about her remaining under control while I'm carrying bags. I have a 6 lb puppy, 3 months old. I have been trying various harnesses. This seem to be the best as far as a step in harness. It seems my pup has a short neck so the over the head harness comes to close to his chin and he is able to get his mouth around the top. This harness is a step in harness easier to get on. However, since it is an XS it could have been a little narrower around the paw holes. It seems to come right up to the shoulder joint. Also the "D" hooks for the leash do not lay flat if you are at the tightest fit. Because of that, I remove the harness while indoors, especially when playing with other pups. It could get caught on furniture or hurt the other pup.lashepa5

This is our second Gooby harness purchase. I actually prefer this style to the previous mesh one with suede trim. We ordered a medium, yet runs smaller than the ‘trekking’ harness (that medium fits her perfectly) Therefore it seems a bit too tight even on the loosest setting. We also ordered a large (from another website) and although that seems to fit her a bit more comfortably, it seems a bit too big. So having a very adjustable harness is essential to making sure she is safe on our walks and can’t slip out accidentally. I got her a size medium and it fits perfectly! It took me probably 20 minutes of tweaking to finally get the harness adjusted just right. But now that I have it adjusted it’s super easy to just pop on any time she need to go outside. I’ve also found that this harness fits well under a doggy sweater during cold weather since it’s not overly bulky.Anna

An XXL didn’t fit my GOLDEN RETRIEVER, an averagely large dog. I expanded all the straps as long as they would adjust and it still was too small. I’m pretty disappointed, as there aren’t any sizes larger than this. What kind of dogs are they making this harness for if an XXL won’t fit a Goldie? The reason I gave it 1 star was because it felt well made and it looked really nice, but other than the look I wouldn’t give it any stars. The straps were rough nylon and seemed like they would chafe if worn for an extended period of time. Will be returning. Our Yorkie mix weighs 10 lbs and measured 14 inches around her chest. Based on the size chart, we ordered her a size Small. We paid extra for shipping. When it got here, it looked tiny. I adjusted the straps and tried putting it on our pup but it’s too small! It barely went over her head and wouldn’t close even at the largest adjusted strap point. Either your size chart is wrong or your product is mislabeled. I will be returning this harness. Which is too bad because I love the harness she has from your company but it is stinky now and the smell won’t wash away. I like this harness! I have a mini aussie and he is a chewer. Sometimes with these he will somehow find his way to nibble around the edges of the harness and tear through it. (We’ve been through 3 harnesses) Anyways, I wish it were a little easier to out on with the clip that has to go through the strap but I guess thats why he is so secure.
