Even when I cover them he trys to get the bandage off to get at them. It says this provides some pain relief, so I'm hoping that will discourage the licking. Does anyone know if this product is safe if the dog licks it? Has anyone's pet gotten sick?

I have a mare who has super sensitive skin. She was out to pasture in the spring and before I could notice the gnats got to her belly and it was bad. I've tried the Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Antiseptic and Anti fungal Spray for Dogs and Cats on a few of our outside cats. They've been deflead but one still kept scratching and losing fur just above her tail. I'm not sure if it's an allergic reaction to the fleas or if it's the result of a thyroid problem. But we tried this spray and the itching stopped immediately. It's been almost 3 weeks and she still isn't scratching it. I also wanted to try this on some ringworm that a few of the outside cats have. I've been spraying this on for almost 3 weeks now but haven't really seen any improvement with the ringworm spots that I'm treating. Ringworm can respond slow to treatments anyway so I'm not sure if this is going to help with that or not. The spray is a pump and it has a light citrus smell, kind of like oranges. It will not harm your pet if they lick it. It didn't list a minimum age that you can use it on. It contains Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Keratin, and Aloe Vera. It's listed as an antifungal, antimicrobial, and antibacterial. To use this you just spray the area tell really wet, twice daily for a week, then once daily for another week. I read the reviews for this product but was still a bit skeptical for it to actually work. One of my cats (2 yr old orange tabby) literally scratched the size of a 50 cent bare spot (literally overnight) in center of his back below shoulder blade. By the end of the day the circle was warm red inflamed and gross. Being on a tight budget I did my research for home remedies. First I began applying a year old vet prescribed Dermalone antibiotic that was prescribed for one of my other cats for 3 days but area got worse. Then began applying Neosporin for 2 days lightly on and around scab now and ( luckily the spot was where he could not reach to lick off) and it did nothing as well. A week later purchased this product, followed the directions and a week later the area was completed healed. Scab dried and fell off and new skin looks perfect and normal. Unfortunately I dont know what this was for did not take him to a vet. Infected area did resemble pictures of ringworm online. My avid little mouser cat caught herself a little prize just a few days before a month-prior planned trip my husband and i were unavoidably about to go to. Apparently that mouse had bitten her back in the process, right on her tender little lip cleft! Using this for hot spots on my canine, this stuff does work but it sometimes can take up to 2 8oz. Bottles to heal the area's treated. Not sure if it's the strength of medicine or just those stubborn spots. I caught the spots early on and started treating them immediately and have been treating them for a month now and they are getting better but slowly, these things are stubborn. I can say that absolutely nothing else I tried worked. Believe it or not, I read online the other day that rubbing Pepto Bismol on hot spots actually works, you heard right, Pepto Bismol. Bebe is one of my Min. PIns, and a show dog. When she was about 8 months old, my sister was taking her to a show in Ca. That morning Bebe, out in the yard got into a nest of ants. Everything seemed ok until my sister got to the show ground. Bebe was sick, running a temp, and had sores on both sides along her ribs, and down the backs of both back legs. By Sunday when my sister arrived home, Bebe had gaping open wounds on both sides of her ribs and down the backs of both hind legs. My sister had her on the meds the Vet in Ca had but Bebe on, but they were not doing much good. We had a bottle of vetericyn and my sister started using it twice a day on Bebe's wounds. By the next weekend, the wounds on Bebe were closed and looking ever so much better. At the end of the month she was all healed up. She does has some scaring on her back legs, but hard to see on "The Baby Bounching Ball!" That was 7 years ago, and she is still going strong. I bought this product Saturday and used it Sunday on my mare since she got her foot stuck in the fence and she pull it out and ripped off the hid of her ankle right above the coronary band. I used many products before I bought and used this product! With that being said I put this on the huge cuts Sunday, then went and checked it today (Monday) and I saw a huge difference in the healing process. It completely works, it is however a little pricey but it you have wounds that are not healing on your horse or even dogs it works like magic to heal the old or new wound within a 24hr period. The doctor suggested this product for my cat. He is a very sweet cat and super easy going, but this product smells like bubble gum and scared him away. He gets super anxious when we get close to him. This medication has been prescribed to my pet until the end of his life. He has some urinary issues alone with some other problems. The same size bottle at our vet was nearly $50 and with KV Supply it is $17. Needless to say we have been customers of KV Supply for a few months now. At the beginning, his issues were becoming a financial burden as we tried to do all we could. The prices with KV supply really lightened the load. 5he skin soother is a great as described! My pup got an abrasion on the side of her snout. The healing process made it itchy so she'd rub her face on the carpet thus rubbing off the scab and the wound would bleed and we had to start the healing process over. I put skin soother on her abrasion at bed time. The next morning it wasn't red and angry looking and she didn't rub her face on the carpet. Started my pup on the skin soother after he developed allergies. He was scratching himself raw and needed a steroid taper to alleviate his discomfort. I highly recommend this product. I’ve been using Zymox for years. My terrier mix has Ear Edge Dermatitis. It’s incurable and usually tears up the edges of the ear from constant cell overgrowth (auto immune) and dogs will be plagued with constant ear issues and itching. When I notice him itching, I put a few drops in ear and massage into ear canals, then rub into the edges of ears. Do this for a couple days, itching stops, ears are clean and have a healthy pink look. It’ll be several weeks before he starts itching again. I don’t worry about using the hydrocortizone or damage to skin (thickened skin) because it works for so long.Itlookscute
I had used this before, without success for my cocker spaniel. So, this was my 2nd attempt. It worked great in 1 ear, but not the other. I used it for 14 days, and on day 15, the infection was back in the one ear, but gone in the other. Product works great on certain infections, but not for others unfortunately. I've always liked Zymox products, but this one really impressed me! GSD/BC mix has had continual ear issues since having a hematoma drained in her right ear. The ear lays over and is full of thicker tissue which seems to hold in a ton of moisture. This last bout of pain and scratching was making her (and me!) absolutely crazy and, after a week of use, the regular Zymox I always have on hand just wasn't cutting it. I did a bit of searching and found the Zymox plus advanced formula and figured I'd give that a try before resorting to a vet visit, antibiotics, steroid drops, etc. After the second day of use, she stopped shaking her head, scratching and whining. After the fifth day, all the redness and drainage was gone. I stopped using it on after the seventh day and she has been great ever since. Highly recommend!cathleecollin_0

My poor Dexter has had his share of skin issues. And there is very little to stop the itch, scratching, biting, and whining. That's why I am thrilled to have this spray. Delivered in two days. This product seems to be working as advertised. My Great Pyrenees had a yeast infection in her left ear. I tried other products but they didn't help. After three days, she is not scratching her ear anymore and she accepts me putting it in her ear better than the other products. I think this is because it is thicker.John P
My Lab/Weimaraner has the biggest floppiest most beautiful soft and silky ears in the world. When he shakes his head they flap sheets on the clothesline on a windy day. But they were itchy and smelly and he had gotten sores on the tips of them from flapping them into things, He was miserable, I was miserable. Ordered this product after doing research online for what I was SURE was an ear infection in our American bulldog, but was hesitant to get another large vet bill after a recent eye injury that left us $500 in the hole. Wasn't sure at first that this product was working, my dogs ear was cherry red, inflamed, smelly and scabbed over due to his scratching at the ear. After the first few treatments the ear was not looking much improved and was still really 'yucky.'
