We used this product on our grand dog. He was a scaly, crusty mess and had lost most of his hair. We took him to the vet and put him a regimen of medicated shampoo, oral antibiotics and an immunomodulator. We used the Skin Soother immediately after his daily bath. We also have him the salmon treats daily. I believe this product helped him regain his health. His color came back and all the scales and itching were gone. So I bought another. My pug had a dark bald spot on his neck from scratching and I was looking for something that would hopefully heal the area and let his hair grow back. I discovered the skin soother and decided to give it a try and this worked like magic! I ordered the 2 oz stick version and loved it. The application was great. It was very easy and clean to apply overall. I applied it to the area twice a day for two weeks before I was able to start seeing results. The hair started growing back and the dark skin was lightening up and becoming less dry and flaky. At the same time, my dog was scratching at it less so that was a plus. Only thing is this stick was practically gone by my second week. It would not have come close to lasting the month. That being said, I had to order another to see continued results but I ordered the larger tin instead. My only issue with this product is the tin is a lot harder to apply. The texture itself is not as soft and smooth as the stick. I also had to use my own hands to spread it on which I did not like at all. It also gets messy in the tin as my pug sheds so there is now hair stuck in the product. My recommendation to the company would be to have the stick in a larger option and I would gladly purchase that. However, currently I greatly regret purchasing two of the tins instead of the smaller sticks. All in all, this product works and I would buy it again! This way less treats are needed as its only using her daily food allowance. It washes really easily by holding it under the running tap, or putting in the dishwasher. Our dog twice got foxtail seeds in his paws which lead to serious infections. He missed a hunting trip and the second time his paw was huge with the infection and had to be lanced. Poor fella. I found Musher's Secret online and took a chance. He never got another seed or infection in his paws. We've now have two small dogs who are having a hard time this winter on the snow and ice. Google brought me to the natural dog company because my dogs paws were the stuff off nightmares. Paw pads that look like hair which I learned was hyperkeratosis. Supposedly there is no cure for this. But I thought at the very least this would give him some relief as he must have been in some pain. Well he looks so much better already. The paws got soft enough that I was able to "trim" the filaments off sightly. Yes it was as gross as it sounds lol. He is not fully cured yet but his paws are so much closer to normal already. He is also in less pain as he is more tolerant of me putting the product on. Once he gets a bit more healed I will use the skin soother in-between the toes. The only con is that this stuff goes fast. I thought this was way too good to be true. My dog- Victoria, a catahoula- has severe allergies and has to be on a special diet, take medications, etc. even then, she has still had really bad allergies and chews her paws and legs. While she absolutely hates this stuff- I don’t know if it is the smell (it smells good, though), but on day 2 I saw a significant change in the redness and itchiness. I was such a huge skeptic because I’ve tried everything and I wasn’t expecting this to work and it has honestly been the only think that is not a medication that has helped. I run and walk my border collie 7-9 miles everyday and his paws were always rough so I decided to try this…within 1 week his cracks were almost all gone and his pads were really bad…deep skin cuts are almost fully gone!!! I'm a big fan of medicinal mushrooms and know that they work well. However, they are also very powerful and not w/o danger or side effects. Considered how common feline hyperthyroidism is, people should be aware that some medicinal mushrooms contained in here, stimulate the endocrine system. My elderly cat stopped responding to his anti-thyroid meds, with thyroid hormone rising contstantly. I sent an email to Bixbi (the maker of these products) inquiring about the thyroid and Maitake's and Shiitake's endocrine stimulating qualities. Bixbi stated that they do NOT recommend the Superfood products for my cat with Hyperthyroidism. I'm still giving this product 5 stars, because it works and does what it's supposed to do … it's just not for everyone. Purchased this product along with BSST to help our 7-year-old Golden mix build up her immunity to hopefully fight off any more mast cell tumors. While reading other recommendations, I discovered that it is good for older pets, as well, who may need their immunity bolstered simply because of age. So, we began giving it to our nearly 12-year-old Malamute. I have noticed a definite difference in both dogs! They are much more alert, and they look and act like they feel better. Will have to wait to see about helping with the mast cell tumors, but hopefully we'll see good results. 3rd week in – on Itch Support Gold and my groodle Humphrey has finally stopped chewing his paws. He is regularly at the vet with "hot spots", and ear infections; and is usually constantly chewing his paws. I just ordered another Large-Extra Large Caring Collar with Calming Disk from Pet Guys, my second Caring Collar for my 8-month German Shepherd to protect her surgery (spay) yesterday. The first collar, I used for my 2-year-4-month-old German Shepherd was when she was spayed at 10 months old. GSDs are usually very strong dogs that tend to struggle with anything put around their necks or mouths. But Caring Collar makes it easier and diminishes such struggle when putting the Caring Collar on and off around the dog's neck, unlike the plastic e-collar, which to me was so difficult and a great struggle. When I used the plastic e-collar on my first GSD at 10 months old, she banged the e-collar against her crate, managed to partially get it off and chewed it. It took a lot of sweat and difficult time for me to mend it and put it back on her neck. So, I had to go back to the pet shop to buy a new one, until I saw Caring Collar. My dog recently had surgery on his paw and he unfortunately kept licking his surgery spot. We went to Petsmart to look at cones and they had the plastic ones that looked so uncomfortable and this. This was pretty pricey but opted to go with it for the comfort etc. Although he hated it it served its purpose! He could still lay down, eat and drink with it on. After sending back the unopened jars they said that they are only replacing 2 jars even though I purchased 4.
