My dog suffers from hot spots on his feet and it makes him just miserable as one heals and another pops up in a different spot. My vet recommended I try a shampoo formulated specifically for hot spots and I found this at a major online retailer. A sixteen ounce bottle ran me about $7 as an add on item which I thought was quite economical since my dog is so small and that one bottle should last me through many, many washes. The formula uses Tea Tree Oil, Aloe Vera, Chamomile to calm dry, itchy skin and despite being a bit strong smelling during the bathing process the smell does not linger after drying. After the first bath with this I noticed a definite improvement in my dog's spots and he seemed more relaxed and less prone to lick the sore areas. After a month of weekly baths his spots were gone and they have not reappeared since. He also had a bit of a dandruff problem during the summer as he likes to sit outside and sunbathe which dries out his skin. My pet Koko is a 4 year old Cooker S and he has certain spots on his body that will itch until the fur is gone and the skin is broken. The hydrocortisone didn't seem to be doing enough. There is no dog more allergy ridden and itchy than my poor pooch. For the past year he's been getting a sore on his belly ( like ecsma) that comes and goes. When it's here he licks and licks and licks to the point of bleeding and crying. We ended up putting a cone on him whenever we weren't home or even just not in the room with him. After 9 months of this he was pretty depressed and the ointment medication from the vet was working like a bandade. As soon as he was healed it would all start over again. My standard poodle suffers from outdoor allergies. After battling them all summer the vet just said to double up on benadryl. I felt like I was drugging my dog. I saw an ad for these chews and thought it would be a better option to at least give it a try. My boy wasn't sure about the taste the first day and I had to wrap it in cheese. The second day, and every day since, he's gobbled it right down just like a treat! To test the results I totally stopped the benadryl and only gave him these chews. He only showed minor symptoms a couple of different occassions in which I went ahead and gave him a single dose of bendryl as needed. But the majority of days were symptom free (his biggest symptom is chewing his paws) and no benadryl needed. What's even better? Wow is right, because I am floored at how well this works! I have 2 pups with horrible allergies – one that nothing else works for. I've tried all different meds, including shots, and she still suffered horribly during allergy season. I reluctantly decided to try this, but we were in the middle of allergy season, and watching her suffer is just too much. Fast forward to July 2019, and my order came in the mail. I gave two of the chewables to my pup the next morning, not expecting much, but just hoping that there would at least be a little relief. Much to my surprise, she didn't scratch AT ALL that day!! I was still skeptical, but same results the next day, the day after that, etc. It has now been over a month, and she STILL doesn't even have any break through scratching, NO MORE scabs, NO MORE pulling out her hair in spots! I am just in awe, and can't thank you enough!! So, I'm here to tell you that there IS hope out there for your pups that suffer from allergies, and this may just be it for your pup, too! It's great that it comes in Salmon flavor since one of my Shih Tzus has a chicken allergy. This really makes a difference for their ears, eyes, and skin. I stopped giving apoquel to my dog, not only because of the expense (costing more than $200 a month), but also because of all the reviews I have read about the danger to a dog's immune system with prolonged use. But my large German shepherd continued to scratch and scratch and scratch. After the first application of Skin Tonic Spray for Pets & People, his itching subsided greatly. After the second application a few days later, he stopped scratching completely. I don't know how you managed it, but this stuff is gold! I have intentionally waited to write a review because I wanted to give enough time to see if the Fidoplex was going to make a difference. I bought this supplement a year ago because my cavalier king charles spaniel had recently experienced two bad episodes with ivdd and she’s only 4 years old. It’s so painful to see your little one suffer like that and the treatment is slow to help, although the laser treatments and steroids did return her to her old self. Not wanting to see her struggle to manage everyday activity, I was ready to try what I could to prevent recurrences. I read about Fidoplex and decided to give it a try. We took our Newfie/Lab to the vet to get vaccinated for a training class. Shortly after his shots, he developed a skin allergy with two hot spots on each hip. The vets thought it was a staph infection and put him on antibiotics & steroids. The issue reappeared after he finished the meds. My lab/beagle mix suffers from skin allergies, and the poor thing will scratch and chew herself until she bleeds, so I was very eager to try this product. How does this product compare to other products you've tried? This product seems to be the equivalent to one that I was prescribed for my cat from the vet. The Vetericyn Plus Hotspot Antimicrobial Hydrogel, is a lot cheaper than the one prescribed. What are some benefits of owning this product? My cat seems to have a habit of biting her fur off, usually after I have put flea medication on her. We have discovered she is a bit allergic to ingredients in most flea medication. My poor pupper got irritated paws from horrible ginko berries smashed all over the fall ground and then made them worse by licking. They were so red and I felt so bad. This product is on the shelf next to a dozen others that claim to do the same thing, but I didn't get to it until three others didn't get the job done. This showed visible improvement within a day. Bonus that he didn't lick it off – before I tried this I would combo an antimicrobial with one of those "bitter taste dogs hate" sprays, but my dog is weird and loved those things and would lick them like crazy. I've been using it since the 90's – long before Tea Tree oil was main stream in the US. It works so well and I happen to like the smell. I've actually used it on me for poison oak because that's all I had in the medicine cabinet. It is very soothing and helps dry up yucky skin – or poison oak blisters. I love that it's anti fungal, anti bacterial as well as anti itch. Those with itchy dog experience are painfully familiar with secondary skin infections from dogs biting their itchies!! I am glad I read the reviews on this product. They helped me to decide to give it a try. I have a dog with severe skin allergies. He is on premium dog food. He gets wiped off every time he come in from outside. I still was having problems with him biting or scratching himself raw. I had purchased this for my older dogs . We used it and it seemed to work for all their skin conditions. Just did not think a lot about it. Then we adopted a little fellow from the pound. He woke us up just miserable with itching. He could not be still, was panting. He had a red rash. I took this and just lathered it in. He got back in our bed and slept the rest of the night.
