My two little dogs (a chihuahua and a chihuahua/daschund mix) really loved these treats! They were the perfect size for them as little dogs, plus they were all natural, so I felt good about giving my dogs these chews. They actually got to the point of getting really excited when they saw me get the bag, so I know that they really loved them, too! On top of that, the treats are a soft chew and my dogs could eat them easily and didn't struggle chewing them like they do with some of the hard treats I've purchased in the past. These treats also contain salmon oil, which the dogs love the flavor of, plus helps keep their skin and coats nice and shiny. I'm not sure how many calories each treat contains, but because they were small and my dogs only got one a day, it wasn't a huge concern. Sorry not a review but a question. Sounds like this works well but I have a horrible time keeping my Shepard from licking his wounds. Even when I cover them he trys to get the bandage off to get at them. It says this provides some pain relief, so I'm hoping that will discourage the licking. Purchased this product with not much confidence made a huge difference in my GSD allergies. Sprayed on the area he was chewing when he would begin chewing. Love this product. My poor sheltie gets these tribble rashes on her belly and the vet gave her a skin antibiotic plus a steroid shot to see if it was maybe a bacteria infection but the rash remained so i just assumed the rash was from some skin allergy she must have from God knows what. I saw this product at Petco and decided to give it a try. It got rid of the rash within about two weeks of using it about three times a day and she doesn't lick it off like the Benadryl cream i had been putting on her in the beginning. My dog suffers from hot spots on his feet and it makes him just miserable as one heals and another pops up in a different spot. My vet recommended I try a shampoo formulated specifically for hot spots and I found this at a major online retailer. A sixteen ounce bottle ran me about $7 as an add on item which I thought was quite economical since my dog is so small and that one bottle should last me through many, many washes. The formula uses Tea Tree Oil, Aloe Vera, Chamomile to calm dry, itchy skin and despite being a bit strong smelling during the bathing process the smell does not linger after drying. After the first bath with this I noticed a definite improvement in my dog's spots and he seemed more relaxed and less prone to lick the sore areas. After a month of weekly baths his spots were gone and they have not reappeared since. He also had a bit of a dandruff problem during the summer as he likes to sit outside and sunbathe which dries out his skin. I used it on my German Shepard who is itchy from allergies. It soothed her and cut out the scratching. I would definitely recommend. I did a little research on the product before I used it to see if anyone had any major issues when they tried it. I use it a couple times a week or more depending on how flaired up she gets. I do like that it's an all natural product. I also use the Burts Bees shampoo and conditioner as well. So I have a beabull, mostly English bulldog. He’s a 7/8 mix. Out of nowhere his cute little black nose started getting crusty and cracked. I waited a while and it didn’t let up. A friend said there was nothing you could do but I found this online. I didn’t think it would work but we are on day four and his nose is DRASTICALLY improved. He hates when I put it on (he does that with everything ever though) so I have to put some peanut butter on a spoon and have him lick it after I apply it to his nose or he’ll just lick it right off his nose. I bought this for my dog’s (14 year old Shar Pei) keratin buildup on his nose and paws. It dissolved the stuff great and I was able to wipe off the stuff on his paws after one application. That was really impressive. My dog has fairly mild Hyperkeratosis but his nose gets a fairly thick layer of buildup, and this product allows you to remove it fairly easily after a few applications over a couple days and a cooperative pooch. I was really impressed with how well it worked. I use it now preventatively which prevents bad buildup on his nose and paws, so all in all I’m certainly a big fan. I recommend at least the 2oz can if you think you’ll use it on the paws. The 2 oz can generally lasts me a couple months even with multiple applications per day. The dog had a TPLO surgery and had half of his back and his leg fur shaved off. The leg fur was coming back in about a month, but his back was completely bare with almost no sign of new fur growth. His skin also became dry and flaky, and he has never had any skin problems before. After looking for hydrating solutions I found this moisturizer and decided to give it a try, I liked the fact that is is a leave-on moisturizer for both skin and fur. As a bonus I found out that it has a very pleasant sent. This products works well. My older Cocker Spaniel started having health issue that has required me to place him on a low fat diet. Due to his health issues and I think changing his food, he started having skin problems. He now has very bad dry skin / dandruff. In addition to a medicated shampoo, the vet recommended coconut oil to help hydrate his skin. The coconut oil was really oily on his fur and I don't think he was fond of the smell. My other two dogs would run up to him and just sniff him after I applied it. I decided to try this and it is wonderful. It absorbs into the fur and skin and the smell is good. It’s not a bad shampoo it didn’t seem to help with the itching thou which is why I got it but it was super gentle and left his fur nice and soft also the smell now I got it because honeysuckle usually smells really nice but this it smelt like nothing. I’m serious it didn’t even smell like soap it smelt like nothing with a VERY slight like medicated chapstick smell which ok I guess that ok but I wanted it to help my dog smell not so much like wet dog if that makes sense. Every dog has a “dog smell” and because he’s a mix his hair is like medium length and after about a week gets this waxy feeling to it and smells very strongly of like wet dog it’s not pleasant so I was hoping since this should have smelled good it would help him stop itching and help him smell better.. it did neither all it did was make his fur soft so if you want soft fur this is your product if you don’t like scents this is for you but if you want your baby to smell nice and help with his itching maybe pick something elseCheryl
Summer has just begun here in FL and it’s already brutal. If you had to endure being outside frequently, would you go out sporting your fur coat? Didn’t think so! Heat = itch here in the swampy south and solutions to this itch aren’t always easy to find. I use Burt’s Bees Dog Itch Soothing Shampoo on my English Cocker Spaniels to prevent hot spots. Their coats stay shiny and healthy regardless of the excessive heat or numerous dips in the chlorinated pool. The only con I can think of is that I can’t find a larger bottle.jenna.h
I’ve always loved Burt’s Bees products for myself, but I never knew they made products for pets. My older dog was having dander issues on her back and she also needs more assistance with grooming as she gets older. I bought waterless shampoo to use on her but I wanted to have wipes as well. They work good! They definitely help to reduce dander, don’t leave any residue, and I love that they’re gentle since my dog has sensitive skin. They’re also perfect for spot cleaning so I can use them on my other dog as needed, not just the one with dander issues. This was a good purchase for us.mariana.a
