My 20 y.o. senior cat has had upper respiratory issues since he was 1 year old, but had gotten so chronic and so bad that he has literally had a stuffy nose and sneezing for an entire year straight. The only thing my vet knew of that might help was an off-label use of Cerenia, which is expensive and was hard to get him to take. I took my aging terrier off prescription bladder control and switched to this product a little over a week ago. I did not do this gradually. So far, so good. My dog has not had any accidents in the house and seems to have as strong a bladder as with the prescription med. I did some research and found that not only would that be expensive and require a course of antibiotics, many people found that the dog's UTI would come right back after they were done. Dog – 50 pound female GSP with spay incontinence since 6 yrs old (now 10). This product does help reduce incontinence. However, depending on the severity of the incontinence, it may not clear up the problem completely. When incontinence first started, there was leakage several times a day (mostly during rest). After 2 months of use (2 pills/day), this product reached its full effect and leakage reduced in frequency and severity (a few times a week in smaller amounts). She will still leak if she drinks a fair amount of water. My dog generally eats a fresh food based diet. She gets quite a bit of hydration from her food and doesn't drink as much from the water bowl. When her diet becomes more kibble based, she's thirstier and drinks from the water bowl. When she's drinking water, it's a large amount over a short time. Shortly after drinking is when she tends to leak. Dog has been on synthetic hormone DES before which works great (maintenance dose of 1 mg pill/week). There's controversy over DES and it's not for every dog. Bladder Strength along with frequent potty breaks (after she drinks) keeps the problem in check enough to not require her DES prescription to be renewed. I have been using Resources Incontinence for my 18 month old Pointer/German Shorthaired Pointer female dog, Strider, for ~3 months now. Strider was spayed early in life and I believe this is why she has an incontinence problem. Since Strider has been on this treatment, she has only had an accident once when she first started treatment, and I think, in part, it was because she was under a lot of stress. (I notice when under stress, she does not have as much control over her bladder). The directions state to give her 2 tablets twice daily for her weight, but I have been giving Strider 1 tablet in the evening and she has been doing very well (no leaks/voiding of bladder). However, she has not been under a lot of stress lately. We'll see at Christmas time when I expect the stress will pick up for her. Before her treatment with Resources, she had been dribbling or voiding her bladder about once per day and many times a lot more than this. I have not seen any side effects so far and it is a good value since I am only giving her 1/4 the recommended dose with good results. If it still works this well after the Christmas stress, I would rate this product with 5 paw prints! ( I actually rate it now with 4.5 paw prints!) Also, Strider did not like the taste of the tablets, but if I lick the tablets (put my saliva/scent on the tablet), she will eat them without problems. I have been using Resources Incontinence for my 18 month old Pointer/German Shorthaired Pointer female dog, Strider, for ~3 months now. Strider was spayed early in life and I believe this is why she has an incontinence problem. Since Strider has been on this treatment, she has only had an accident once when she first started treatment, and I think, in part, it was because she was under a lot of stress. (I notice when under stress, she does not have as much control over her bladder). The directions state to give her 2 tablets twice daily for her weight, but I have been giving Strider 1 tablet in the evening and she has been doing very well (no leaks/voiding of bladder). However, she has not been under a lot of stress lately. We'll see at Christmas time when I expect the stress will pick up for her. Before her treatment with Resources, she had been dribbling or voiding her bladder about once per day and many times a lot more than this. I have not seen any side effects so far and it is a good value since I am only giving her 1/4 the recommended dose with good results. If it still works this well after the Christmas stress, I would rate this product with 5 paw prints! ( I actually rate it now with 4.5 paw prints!) Also, Strider did not like the taste of the tablets, but if I lick the tablets (put my saliva/scent on the tablet), she will eat them without problems. She thinks anything that I eat must be good and it entices her to eat it if she thinks I have been eating it. Or, I can place a little grease on her tablet and she will eat it easily.Strider's mom
First, my dog does not take meds well – she finds a way to spit them out and it's always a process to disguise it. She GOBBLES these up…she even chews them! Second, she has been on Proin for over a year for spay incontinence but it has come at a cost…lethargy, weight gain… I can't speak to the weight as it's too soon in her taking this, but in just a few days of switching to this supplement she has not had any accidents and her energy is back! My 14.5 year old female Yorkie has had some problems with excessive thirst, frequent urination and incontinence. This formula absolutely cleared up her incontinence within 2 weeks. She weighs 8.5 pounds and I give her 1/4 tablet in the morning with food and 1/4 tablet in the evening with food. She has had no side effects. After testing, we found that she has "pre-cushing's" disease, so that is why she drinks too much, and pees too much. But the incontinence is gone. One of my three dogs, Danna (a beagle) has suffered for chronic UTIs for a couple of years. Wife found young cat in drain at work. She took it home. A few weeks ago she got underneath vehicle and jumped down while we were driving down the street. She had her tail and rear end run over. We took her to the vet, she was bleeding heavy. They patched her up and gave her meds, sent her home and said see if she makes it. Thankfully she is making a recovery, but she is not able to lift her tail or control her bladder or ****. Wife searched online, found mostly dog diapers, but came across this site. We ordered 2ea. 3 packs after measuring cat. Package arrived quickly, and diapers looked high quality. Unfortunately we tried multiple times and ways to get diaper on. We did not have any problem getting over tail its when we tried around legs, either picking her up or trying upright. Wife and son tried to hold while I attempted to put on multiple times. All I can say is the diaper does a good job of holding my blood. We finally gave up after about the 10th time. Maybe our cat is a wild one, but she was having no part of this. I thought that since she was injured we would have no problems. Also tried when she was sleepy. I think I need to search for a cat diaper holding pen! I bought small for my mini dachshund and medium for my beagle. Both were perfect fit. I found they are great for occasional incontinence but they wet through quickly and sag, making them very easy to slip out of. Daisy, our 16 year old beagle, wrestled her way out of them repeatedly. After some trial and error, we found the perfect solution. We use Poise pads inside the diaper (disposable pads used for human incontinency issues) and mitten clips to attach them to her harness! I'm about to order another set in the pretty fall Lodge colors. Very happy to have saved my floors and my sanity. Great product. We absolutely LOVE the Belly Bands! My 12.5 yo boy was peeing on the floor in the kitchen during the night and it made me crazy! I was about ready to start crating him at night, like I did when he was a puppy and house training. As a last ditch effort to having crates in the house again, I got the Belly Bands and Diapers, and the bands fit and work GREAT!! But the diapers in the same size, are too big and come off! I received this product complimentary from influenster in return for my honest review. The Tomlyn Hairball Remedy gel for cats is a life saver! My eldest cat has the tendency to throw up hairballs quite often. I followed the measuring ingredients on the package and mixed it into his wet food. I have definitely noticed a decrease in hairballs since! The gel consistency is a bit odd, so i can understand if your furry friend does not like it. Purchased this product first from my vet; later tried a different product found on line – similar size tube but only 2.5 ounces compared to the Tomlyn product at 4.25 ounces. My most recent purchase from Wal-Mart is the best economically based on price and size. Both products list themselves as remedies; neither is a complete remedy but they are a definite improvement over hairballs and cleaning up those messes. My cat has extremely long hair, and she loves this product. The vet told me to put some on my finger and swipe it in her mouth – bad idea. I bought the P.H. travel set to see if this would help my highly allergic, health challenged Scottish Terrier. These are absolute garbage! They are really small and I even doubled up, they still leak right through the material. Very disappointing since I decided to spend a few extra dollars and order them through Walmart after reading so many positive reviews. I used them for a golden doodle and a bichon and these pads weren't absorbent for either. I have no idea what the positive reviewers used them for – most likely a parakeet or something small. Bought these to put under my 17year old dog to keep jer dry amd comfortable in her final weeks. She could no longer stand or walk but the vet said if I brought her in to assess for euthanization I would have to just hand her to them in the parking lot and they would take her in the office (due to covid). That wasnt happening and the home pet hospice places werent responding so it was up to me to make her comfortable. I lined her bed with these daily and changed them as soon as they were wet or dirty. I hand fed her all the treats she was never supposed to have for her final weeks jere on earth. She was comfortable and lasted almost a month like that, finally passing on 6/6/20 at 17-1/2 years old. I dont know what I would have done without these. They kept her dry and comfortable and her bed clean in spite of her inability to move in her final days. Great size. I have a 13 year old chihuahua rescue dog that had never been outside in 10 years. I use these pads for her and for a puppy that was also a rescue. The puppy was only used to going on concrete and floors! Although they can spend hours outside in the yard or on the patio or veranda, weather permitting, the chihuahua faithfully uses the pads. Our puppy is slowly getting potty trained, so she uses them less. Then, imagine my surprise when I saw our 15 year old cat use it! Our dog developed an inflamed bladder due to chemotherapy he was taking for cancer. He went from never having an accident to completely losing bladder control. These have been a life saver! My only complaint is that they do shrink a bit after washing, so I had to order the extenders in order to be able to use them after they’ve been washed a few times. Our Hava-Tzu started marking about three years after having him. He was fixed but out of the blue he started. Had him to the vet and he was physically great! But we endured him marking on the stainless steel frig, the bottom drawer of our stainless steel stove and the front of the dishwasher not to mention to many baseboards to name!! We caught the appliances quickly so we didn’t have any damage but the baseboards all had to cut, painted and replaced where he’s done the most marking. Monday, my 15-year-old dog went for her normal walk. Later that day she was sleeping on her bed and woke up because she had wet her bed. This went on all day. Kept the washing machine going. It was 111 degrees outside so she could not be outside. Looked online for bladder support and this was suggested. I gave her double the dose smashed up into powder and double the dose a few hours later. Doubled her dose on Tuesday AM. Tuesday she wet the bed even more. I called all the vets locally and found out how much it would cost to euthanize her. Wednesday she did not wet the bed. Thursday we took a walk like nothing had happened. I am dropping her dose down to normal or even half of normal. These are life-changing! Our 14-year old AmBull/Mastiff started having incontinence challenges. I was woken up multiple times a night, usually only for him to wet on the floor on the way to the door. Often he would have an accident standing right next to us (I assume unaware it was going to happen). Literally, since the first dose of this, we have not had an accident. I started purchasing this product over a year ago. When I brought my 3 1/2 yr old Corgie mix to my home after adoption I found out various things. Hairballs are the devil! My baby boy Buttons, was suffering tremendously. We took him to our vet on numerous ocassions where he was given very strong laxatives. This works great for our 16 year old tuxedo cat. She is still able to groom herself however she gets frequent hair balls and this helps her expel it. She also has scoliosis of the spine in which she is given meds to help alleviate her pain but causes constipation. Our previous vet started us on this and it works great especially if you use it either 2 hours after eating or 10 minutes before feeding. I have no big toe joints left in my feet. Other than surgery, which the doctor told me I would have done, there was nothing I could do about it. We took our cat to the vet after he woke me up in the early morning howling in pain trying to urinate in the litter box. We discovered he had a UTI and his bladder was very inflamed and full of struvite stones. After a round of antibiotics and other meds to relax his urethra and dissolve the stones, along with new prescription diet food, I started researching other ongoing preventative maintenance options. I ran across Tinkle Tonic in an online forum and was shocked at all of the glowing reviews of how it had been a miracle worker for their pet's issues. So far Tinkle Tonic has been working very well. I see large clumps of pee in the litter box now. We give him about .30 ml. in the morning with regular wet food and then his prescribed UTI Hill's Science Diet food at night. An overnight stay at the vet and a midnight run to the emergency vet for fear of stones or crystals for our cat who was diagnosed with FLUTD since he was a kitten, and being told each visit that it was just chronic inflammation (a frustrating but common side effect of FLUTD) and there wasnt much the vets could do other than pain meds and anti inflammatories. Needless to say we were ready to try some additional preventative care and heard good things about this product. Its been 2 months now of adding the tonic to our cat's prescription wet food and so far so good. He doesn't notice or seem to mind the taste, no adverse effects of adding the recommended dose to his diet and best of all hes been happy and healthy. I wouldn't recommend this as a treatment option (vets are a must) but would for those looking for additional preventative measures, especially for cats with chronic inflammation associated with FLUTD.Pincurlgirl
Seems to really help. It doesn't take much, either. I only give my cats 3 drops per day, and that seems to be enough to keep things flowing the way they should. One of my males had a problem when I introduced a new cat into the household, he wasn't stopped up, but did start holding it in and that caused inflammation. After a vet visit and meds from the vet to help him through the initial problems, this has helped keep him from holding it in again. It won't work miracles, if a cat, especially a boy, doesn't urinate for a period of 24 – 48 hours, take him in to the vet to make sure there's no blockage since that can very quickly become life-threatening, but this is good for maintaining things in working order.ageek33k
