My dog went a few days with excessive "goop" from his eyes. Since my dog hasn't had a history with this, and doesn't seem to have seasonal allergies, the vet suggested an antimicrobial for the eye irritation and I went with this ophthalmic gel based on the luck I've had with other Vetericyn products in the past. I started with a tiny drop on the corner of my dog's eye to be sure he wouldn't have any reaction to it. Later that day, I went ahead and applied a few drops in each of his eyes. I applied the gel two times a day for three days in a row and by the fourth day his eyes had stopped having discharge. It is almost like my dog knew the drops would make him feel better as he kept his head very still when I applied the gel to his eyes. The shape of the dispenser where you squeeze the product out of makes it very easy to apply the gel to their eyes. While it is a "gel," it comes out of the dispenser fairly quickly which I find allows for an accurate application. The gel-like substance is great to confirm that you got the gel where you want it to go. Went out one morning and caught a glimpse of what looked like a little scratch on my horses eye. Upon inspection the eye itself was untouched but the eyelid was cut about an inch long from the back corner towards the front. I cleaned it and figured I would just leave it alone. My animals tend to get what I call "goopy eyes" from time to time, mostly irritated from hay or just allergies or dust etc. I have used products similar to this in the past. I used this antimicrobial gel to help clear the irritants in their eyes. It worked and seemed to soothe their eyes right after I used it… However, unlike the current product I use, I found myself having to use it again a few hours later because the symptoms had come back. Compared to another brand that I use for the same purpose, I would not switch at this time and would not buy this product. As far as recommending it to a family member or friend, if what they were using was not working – I would recommend using it and giving it a try. I have actually passed along this sample to a family member who has horses and will be giving it a try with them. I am very pleased with this product. It has a great consistency-not too tacky but not too runny either. I use this product on our 2 dogs. One tends to get dirt/other irritants in her eyes and then her eyes get red and itchy. Before I scheduled a vet appointment I figured that I would give this product a try; I'm glad I did-within 2 days her eyes were no longer red or irritated. We received this free trial of Vetericyn Antimicrobial Eye Gel for Pets and decided to test it on our 3 year old English Shepherd, Cooper. Cooper's favorite past time is running through long grasses in our field, which seem to cause him to get eye goobers. Cooper was very unhappy to get the eye gel drops and we often used 2 or 3 times more product than needed since so much ended up on his face and muzzle. Despite the challenges we faced when applying the eye gel, we were happy with the results. After 2 days of 2 applications each, Cooper's eye goobers had disappeared. We use this for our sheltie, Jazzy Jay-Bird. An adenocarcinoma on her neck has atrophied the muscles on one side, causing her left eyelid to stay slightly open all the time. We noticed that her eye was very red and dry. Our vet recommended Optixcare and it has made a world of difference. She seems more comfortable, and the eye is no longer red. Our dog seems to like the way it feels in his eyes. He is totally blind but he doesn't try to rub it out, as with other drops that veterinarians have prescribed in the past. In fact at morning and night both, he seems to sense when it is time for us to put in his drops. He starts barking at us when it's time and bumps his way into the kitchen, where we usually apply them. If he doesn't need to go outside to pee or whatever, then he simply makes his way peacefully back to his pallet. We put this product in about five minutes after we put in an antibiotic drop. I have a Bichon whose tear ducts never developed. The eyes constantly tear, resulting in some very awful tear staining. I have used Angels Eyes for a little over two years now. My dog won't touch the powdered version even when mixed into canned dog food. He thinks the tablets are a treat and cannot wait until the next dose. I have tried both types, the one with the mild anti-biotic and the natural type. I think the anti-biotic type works a little bit better than the natural type, but I don't think it is made any longer. I even looked at Angels Eyes site and it is not listed. The natural chews work pretty well, although I give my dog one more tablet than the recommended dose. Drs. I've used Angel eyes twice over 7 years and it has always worked great for my little 5lb Pappillon. His eyes started weaping again so I first used the powder. The container was nearly empty and no change. Then I discovered it came in a chew, which is soooo much handier, so bought a container and continued giving it to him. He loves the taste, but that's not the problem. He finished the powder and is about halfway thru the chews and still no change. Odd. Previously by now the problem was solved and he was good for a couple years, but now no change. No its like everything else I have tried does not work I can't even get my cats to get it down. When I first got it I let my cat smell it and he literally gagged (should have stopped there)?then I put it in a syringe and gave it to him and he threw up right after I gave it to him. You know I just wish there were more products for cats that they would actually eat, drink, or like. There is certainly enough out there for dogs. My 20 y.o. senior cat has had upper respiratory issues since he was 1 year old, but had gotten so chronic and so bad that he has literally had a stuffy nose and sneezing for an entire year straight. It was really draining his energy. Even in the summer, he was spending all day in his heated bed. The only thing my vet knew of that might help was an off-label use of Cerenia, which is expensive and was hard to get him to take. Out of desperation I tried this, and that same day I could tell a noticeable difference in my cat's ability to breath and how he felt. Within 24 hours his stuffy nose was almost gone, and it has stayed mostly gone with regular use of this product. It felt like such a miracle after seeing my cat be miserable for an entire year! I've been taking care of homeless cats and trying to find them forever homes for around 8 years. A lot of the babies have gotten eye infections. I'm always researching on the internet and found this site. Boy, am I glad I did! There's grown cats here that sneezes a lot so they need this also. I used this on 2 seven week old kittens that had eyes in terrible shape and were cleared up after putting it in their food twice. Also, I had read an article years ago about how good Plant Enzyme & Probiotics are for cats and dogs and I bought some for my cat. I ran out and low and behold, they sell it. I'm a customer for life!

Bought a couple weeks back hoping to help with terrier/chi/corgi mix who accumulates massive amounts of buildup in her fur on the lower part of her eyes. The problem is, she has to eat it first and she refuses. Even when we've coated it with bacon grease or something she likes. This is a common issue with she and her brother. They both eat like pigs and we have to be careful with them. But, when we give them any kind of chewable, they just spit it out. If we wrap it or otherwise try and disguise it, they manage to eat everything but the item we need them to consume. It's very frustrating. 5he skin soother is a great as described! My pup got an abrasion on the side of her snout. The healing process made it itchy so she'd rub her face on the carpet thus rubbing off the scab and the wound would bleed and we had to start the healing process over. Hi dear friends!This amazing Product -Safe, healthy, effective Safe ingredients (no chemicals) and healthy (reduces contamination as in multiple use containers). Plus, this is one of the few products that lubricates my semi-dry eyes for longer than perhaps a half hour. I always trust Boiron to have healthy and effective products.I love these drops, they work much better and feel like they last longer than any other over the counter eye drops. One BIG draw back is that this ONLY comes in individual use packets…. and the top doesn't fit back on once opened.. So you either have to use it all, find a place to lean it to keep until the next use or waste some of it… for this price… wasting isn't an option for me. If I add up the one droplet I don't get out of each individual use… 20 drops per box, that is 10 more uses for me… I would prefer it in a small drop bottle.I recomandet it!iHerb Customer
Good for scratchy eyes (guess it's dry eye). 71 yrs old and don't use glasses. This helps when eyes get scratchy esp. a night. At times I have used it daily, but not currently — just for occasional spurts of eye scratchiness. A little hard for me to use. Most of it drips down my face, but I think all eye drops are like that. I purchased wrinkle wipes and wrinkle paste. I called to get some information on it's use, I used the phone number to speak person to person with a "team member" about my and my Vets concern's about it's use. As I was unable to find a list of ingredients on the site. I had to purchase the product to obtain a list of it's ingredients. So that my vet could determine if it was indeed safe for my dogs situation. He had some concerns.
To my dismay the phone only referred me to use the email address that was posted right next to the phone number???? If using the phone number is a waste of time, why is it provided. If email would have suited this situation I would have used it. Having a voice message to use the email and no other options is absolutely unacceptable customer service. They make it seem as if they care, but as elsewhere in life I see that actions (or lack of ) speak louder words. My frenchie has bad allergies and his face is always wet causing his wrinkles to become prone to infection his face would start bleeding in spots from how severe it was getting. I would use other products and they wouldnt really help.. but this stuff really works! His face looks soooo much better and has improved dramatically.
