My two little dogs (a chihuahua and a chihuahua/daschund mix) really loved these treats! They were the perfect size for them as little dogs, plus they were all natural, so I felt good about giving my dogs these chews. They actually got to the point of getting really excited when they saw me get the bag, so I know that they really loved them, too! On top of that, the treats are a soft chew and my dogs could eat them easily and didn't struggle chewing them like they do with some of the hard treats I've purchased in the past. These treats also contain salmon oil, which the dogs love the flavor of, plus helps keep their skin and coats nice and shiny. I'm not sure how many calories each treat contains, but because they were small and my dogs only got one a day, it wasn't a huge concern. Cocker has “dry eyes and prescribed steroids and cyclosporine twice daily each eye. Suspect his extremely elevated liver enzymes may be due to long term steroid use or could just be his age. Haven’t tested for Cushing’s but sonograms reveal no tumors on liver or pituitary glands. He was lethargic and never feeling well until his doctor advised trying the Denamarin. His Opthalmologist concurred it was a great idea. Haven’t yet tested his liver enzymes again to see if the numbers have improved (hasn’t been on them quite a full month) but I’ve reordered and will receive the pills monthly. Bottom line: he’s a lot more energetic, playing with his toys again, not sleeping all the time, just overall feeling so much better. He’s acting normal again—normal for an 11-plus year-old Cocker. Did a lot of research before giving him the Denamarin and felt they were safe, and most people had positive results using it. Only drawback would be that the pills for large dogs are really big. You’re supposed to administer 1 hr before or 2 hrs after a meal, which I do with a little piece of boiled chicken breast to hide it and help it go down, and it goes down without a problem. Can’t imagine any dog of any size being able to swallow a pill that size without an owner hiding it in a little chunk of something, cheese, pill pocket, treat. Anything to help it go down easier. And helps if they drink a little water. Can’t wait to have his liver enzymes tested again. I’m confident they will have improved. Side note: when one’s liver is not working properly, urine can have an odd and strong odor, which his did. Standing several feet away, I knew something wasn’t right. I love the product – your packaging – AGAIN – is HORRIBLE. I ordered two of these and one arrived opened and about ten left in the the bottom of the container. The other container was in tack! I am so thrilled with the results of this product. I contacted the manufacturer, who confirmed that the formula is the same as their cat joint relief product; the dosage and texture is just different between the two. So I buy this for my 2 cats and 1 dog to avoid having to buy two different products that are essentially the same thing. I crumble 1 treat into my senior cats' wet food each day and give 2 daily to my young dog for preventative purposes. Before starting on these, both of my cats had showed some natural decline in mobility, and one of them had torn his ACL tear when attempting a high jump. After just a few days of these treats, both cats showed greater mobility, and the one with the ACL injury was jumping again after a little over a week. My adopted beagle had seizure the second day after we brought her home. She was one year old then. We thought it was due to the new environment. Clinic vet prescribe her with only some relaxant medication and vitamins. She continues to have seizure once every few weeks. Till a serious episode in the middle of the night one day made us to bring her to the animal hospital. A thorough check by the vet and after few follow-up check diagnosed her with genetic liver dysfunction and also genetic epilepsy. Her liver reading was far exceeding the normal range. Denosyl had helped to keep her liver at normal range with her seizure medication that is not good for her liver . She is put on long term Denosyl, a pill a day before her l/d diet. She is healthy and active after 2 years now. All of us are happy with this cutie pie at home!
We inherited my mother-in-law's 16-or-so year old cat. He had a history of throwing up but her vet couldn't find anything wrong. After we'd had him for a while he started throwing up more, stopped eating, and became lethargic. Our vet diagnosed liver failure and was not optimistic, but recommended denosyl, which doesn't require a prescription and is relatively cheap. Ever since the cat's been on denosyl, he's been eating like a horse and is much more lively than his age would suggest. I'd recommend this for anyone whose pet has liver problems. It seems to work best when the cat hasn't eaten for at least 4 hours (preferably more) before we give it, then don't feed him for at least an hour after. We have two short hair chihuahuas and they are very dandruffy. Anytime they get a nice scratch they're covered in dandruff. Especially noticeable because they have black fur. Only been a week on these chews and almost no dandruff! They are 5lbs each and get one chew a day. The bites are bug for my cat, i have to split it into 3 so she can eat it. She loved it at first but then didn’t care much about it. I've used this for quite some time after not being able to get a different product anymore. The vet wanted to sell me a product with green-lipped mussel and New Zealand deer antler velvet. I'm not falling for the idea that New Zealand deer has more effective velvet. I couldn't find deer velvet here (yet), but did find this product with green-lipped mussel. I has other ingredients I like as well, including Green Tea extract, Hyaluronic acid, and Boswellia. If your dog only has regular arthritis, this product alone may be enough. I find that I have to supplement additionally for my very arthritic dog. However, the vet said he had 3 months at best before he'd go down and we'd have to put him down. The multivitamins are treated like a treat for Hennessey. We have been typically been giving them to here before her dinner. Although we do not like the smell of the multivitamins (same with human multivitamin), Hennessey of course does not mind. She in fact knows it's scent and knows what she needs to do to get it before she has her dinner. Hennessey would sit down and allow us to place the multivitamin on her forehead or nose. She waits patiently before we say "Go get it". She loves her multivitamin and it's a great way to make sure she is getting her vitamins. Very good multivitamin support that I have used for 20 years for our dogs. My young dog had developed intermittent soreness in her hind legs that was undiagnosed – hips were perfect, joints all fine, no viral or bacterial causes, specialist was stumped. It's hard to find vitamins, supplements, and or treats for both of my dogs. I have an 11 year old female Bullmastiff and a 3 year old male chihuahua. They obviously have different nutritional needs, but these vitamins are working well for both dogs. They both love the taste and texture. They both come running when I shake the bag like it's time for a treat. My larger dogs gets two, and my smaller dog gets a half. The Canine Plus multivitamins are soft & easy to break for my smaller dog's dose. I love the product – your packaging – AGAIN – is HORRIBLE. I ordered two of these and one arrived opened and about ten left in the the bottom of the container. The other container was in tack! So one container completely distroyed. Other items in the box were broken open: The box of Cat Food – 30 box count. Totally broken apart and all the cans were all about the box. And many dented! The shipping box itself had obviously been broken and arrived in super bad condition and a lot extra tape. The box was a mess and was part of the delay in its delivery! I am so thrilled with the results of this product. I contacted the manufacturer, who confirmed that the formula is the same as their cat joint relief product; the dosage and texture is just different between the two. So I buy this for my 2 cats and 1 dog to avoid having to buy two different products that are essentially the same thing. I crumble 1 treat into my senior cats' wet food each day and give 2 daily to my young dog for preventative purposes. Before starting on these, both of my cats had showed some natural decline in mobility, and one of them had torn his ACL tear when attempting a high jump. After just a few days of these treats, both cats showed greater mobility, and the one with the ACL injury was jumping again after a little over a week. After several weeks, he's moving like the young, athletic cat he used to be. Most importantly, nobody seems to be in any discomfort anymore. … I will just say, though, that this new advanced formula with collagen is much stiffer/denser than the regular formula without collagen, so crumbling the treats can be a little bit of a pain. I have a brave little mini doxie that would take on the meanest badger, but hates storms or loud bangs of any kind. Our dog Petal was diagnosed with PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy) when she was 5 years old. This disease usually starts in dogs who inherit it when they are between 4 and 6 years old. We were told there was nothing we could do about it and that she would be completely blind in about 1 year, 2 at the very most. We immediately started giving her Ocu-GLO and have given it to her every day since she was diagnosed. Her vision did indeed decline but much much slower than predicted. When she was 10 years old she still had some sight and it's only been in this past year (her 12th) that her vision has gotten drastically worse.. Even still, she's not totally blind. I don't know if Ocu-GLO had anything to do with this, but we felt it was worth trying and we continue to give it to her for overall eye health, including cataracts and possible inflammation from other issues. I recommend it to anyone who has a dog with PRA and would like a shot to preserve their vision for as long as possible.Susan
We have a 6.5 year old Brussels Griffon that has had a run of bad luck! She fell down a set of 3 stairs last October of 2013 and as a result, broke her elbow. After surgery and 3 casts with Dr. Dew an orthopedic surgeon, she is able to walk again. Her missing the stairs had me concerned about her eyesight so during the healing process, I found an ophthalmologist to examine her. Dr. Miller, stated that she did in fact have the onset of cataracts and that could have contributed to the fall however she also had retinal deterioration so she wasn't a good candidate for cataract removal. At his recommendation, we ordered Ocu-Glo RX and started taking the pills immediately. After 3 months we returned to see Dr. Miller and weren't given much hope but he said to continue taking the Ocu-Glo. We returned again for our 6 month check up and again, much of the same. "Keep doing what you're doing". Very disappointing news… However, yesterday we went for our 9 month checkup and were told that both eyes were developing cataracts and one was already very visible and he suspected the other one would be visible quite soon. Hello. My son's pit King, stays downstairs with me. Follows me everywhere, sleeps with me, he has been the best companion, and yes he even talks "smack" back to me if he doesn't get his own way. King eats what I eat, even my home made sauerkraut :), but he don't like the taste of these if they break open. These have an extremely small amount of melatonin in them, which at first worked okay, but after a month it's not cutting it. A 10lb dog can have 1 MG of melatonin and be fine, which is almost 10x the amount found in one of these treats. Me and my husband went out of town for the weekend and decided to bring out year and a half old corgi/aussie mix with us. She is FULL of energy and since the pandemic hasn't loved one of us leaving a space and if both of us leave has a full on fit once the door is closed. Thiosulfate causes oxidative damage to red blood cells, resulting in hemolytic anemia. I have used this product for over 20 years and would not be without it for my pets. It is very effective in helping to repel fleas. I find that I don't need to use my other regular flea control product nearly as often. I give the NaturVet tablets twice daily but only need to apply the liquid topical product four times per year. I have used brewers yeast in the past for flea control. I have two dogs so the 1000 count bottle is perfect. I toss the tablets in their food twice a day and there is never as issue with the brewers yeast being consumed. I live out in the country and have NEVER had an issue with fleas while using the brewers yeast. It saves my dogs from being exposed to poisons (flea and tick control) and the cost of such products. My precious senior American Staffordshire Terrier has her aches and pains, mostly in her back hip joints. In the mornings, it is so bad that she has trouble walking. About 6 months ago, my cat, who has feline leukemia, stopped eating, was constantly vomiting, sleeping, and cringed whenever I touched her. She would still come in and sleep on me, but had no energy and whimpered a lot. When I found out that she had leukemia, the vet led me to believe I could make her as comfortable as best I could, or look into euthanizing her. I spent hours searching online for possible medicines that I could give her, even considering some pretty ridiculous and potentially stupid cure options. I found this and used it in conjunction with a Pedialyte and baby food mixture fed to her with syringe. Newly adopted very stressed pup. I purchased three Thunder items, one of which was a bottle of the Calming Chews. Tried the Chews several times over the course of a week and a half in different situations. Sorry but found each time that there was no change in my dog's reactivity level – and on one occasion the Chew seemed to make him more stressed. So my 6mos. old pup is super hyper at night running around my apartment. He just have this excitement and energy at night when i come home from work. Also before going to sleep we still have to wrestle on my bed for a good hour or so. He just have that so much energy probably because im out all day. Tho he got tons of toys to keep him busy with and accompany him throughout the day when im at work. So i decided to buy and try this calming chews with hemp, and i say it worked 30mins or so after giving him 2 chews. Crushed it with my fingers and mixed it on his kibbles. Chew are pretty big so i have to crush it. Well it worked well. He didn't have that hyperactivity that he jets around the apartment back and forth. He was calm like a baby chewing his toy.
