One of our dogs starting having a lot of accidents after she turned 10. We started implementing this into her diet and definitely have seen an improvement. Dog – 50 pound female GSP with spay incontinence since 6 yrs old (now 10). This product does help reduce incontinence. However, depending on the severity of the incontinence, it may not clear up the problem completely. When incontinence first started, there was leakage several times a day (mostly during rest). After 2 months of use (2 pills/day), this product reached its full effect and leakage reduced in frequency and severity (a few times a week in smaller amounts). She will still leak if she drinks a fair amount of water. My dog generally eats a fresh food based diet. She gets quite a bit of hydration from her food and doesn't drink as much from the water bowl. When her diet becomes more kibble based, she's thirstier and drinks from the water bowl. When she's drinking water, it's a large amount over a short time. Shortly after drinking is when she tends to leak. Dog has been on synthetic hormone DES before which works great (maintenance dose of 1 mg pill/week). There's controversy over DES and it's not for every dog. Bladder Strength along with frequent potty breaks (after she drinks) keeps the problem in check enough to not require her DES prescription to be renewed. My dog was not leaking or having accidents, she just suddenly needed to urinate at around 5 in the morning, instead of the normal 9 or 10 o'clock time, and also had to go more often than normal. My Vet did a Urinalysis, bloodwork, X-rays, and Ultrasound and everything was perfect, so I researched the issue and found this supplement. I spoke with Vetriscience's Support Personnel and they felt that this Supplement would be helpful as it allows the dog to fully empty their bladder, it supports normal Estrogen levels that may have fallen after my dog was Spayed, and it tones and strengthens the muscles that allow for normal bladder function. My 12 year old Yorkie suddenly starting losing the contents of her bladder during the night. The vet suggested checking for a UTI. I did some research and found that not only would that be expensive and require a course of antibiotics, many people found that the dog's UTI would come right back after they were done. Since she wasn't in pain when urinating and there was no sign of blood, I thought I would try apple cider vinegar first which evidently works very well. It didn't help so next I tried Tinkle Tonic which did help, but not completely. I called the company which makes it and they suggested using the Tinkle Tonic concurrently with the Leaks No More. Voila, no more leaking! When the TT was finished, I just kept using the Leaks No More and it worked fine by itself. Two caveats, you have to keep giving it every day and by itself. I tried another of their homeopathic remedies for itching and gave it concurrently and when she leaked again, found out from the company its effectiveness is reduced when given with another remedy.the-old-den-closet

I ordered a product for over $200. When received, the product did not work for me – so I immediately contacted Essential Pet Products. I received notification to use Return Authorization using the authorization numbers, including a copy of the invoice. I took the package to the UPS store, they checked to make sure I had all the paperwork correct & off it went. My grey tabby, Itty, has chronic bladder infections. He's on specialized food and we watch him like a hawk. My sister suggested I try Cranberry D-Mannose so I purchased some from this site. When I adopted a rescue dog, I took her to my vet for a health check. He told me her blood tests indicated that she was experiencing renal failure. On a Friday in Jan 2012 our Beagle, Ben (14), seemed very lathargic. He was still eating but not as much as usual. His current major health issue is arthritis and gets a daily regimen of baby asprin for the pain. I started feeding him rice mixed with some wet dog food and making sure he was offered water a hour or so. On Sat. afternoon we noticed that his stool was a tary black so I thought he must be bleeding inside. He did not have a bowel movement at all on Sunday and we noticed that his gums were very pale so I decided that I needed to take him to the vet on Monday if he did not improve. I was worried that maybe the asprin (1 – 82 mg 2 x a day) may have caused an ulcer hence the bleeding. The VET ran a blood test and took an x-ray on Monday. $300 later His red blood cell count was at 11 and should be in the 35-50 range. So, he was very anemic. His digestive track did not appear to be ruptured but he did have a large mass in his abdomin and his heart seemed enlarged which may mean a mass on his heart, also. The vet suggested a Sonogram to possibly give more internal info. (another $150) and the next step would be to transfer Ben to the nearest Emergency clinic for a blood transfusion which may be another $600-700. Considering Ben's age I decided against the Sonogram and Blood Transfusion so the vet said the alternative would be to put him to sleep because he is very sick. I said "today?" and mentioned that my husband would want to say goodbye. She said okay, take him home for a day and bring him back tomorrow but that I shouldn't wait too long. My husband and decided that as long as he was eating and drinking we were not going to put him to sleep. The vet did not believe he was in pain, just very tired, like he just got over the flu (for example). I did some research on-line that Monday and found this blood and energy supplement. I placed and order, stopped his asprin regimen and fed him med. rare steak and continued rice with soft food over the next couple days while waiting for the supplement to get here. I started him on Blood & Energy by Wed. evening and by Sunday he was making his normal circle around the yard. We were carrying him from the couch to go out and eliminate then he would come right back in. We could not believe we even thought about putting him to sleep. It is now Mid March 2012 and he seems better than he was before and he seems to be shedding less. I would suggest this supplement for any older dog especially if they are anemic and expensive transfusions are not an option for you as a pet owner. Good luck! I hope this helped. Try this trick! I read the poor reviews, but my vet pushed me to order these. Yes, these are hard. But I discovered that if I microwave a treat 10-15 seconds, the treat becomes very soft. I squeeze it flat and break it into a few pieces and my picky cat gobbles these up!M.F.

Yes, these treats are hard as a rock. My elderly cat who gets chronic UTIs just can't eat them because she's missing teeth and has a sensitive mouth. I moved into a house where 2 dogs tore up the house because of negligent pet owners. one dog was larger and was only let out once or twice a day on his leash to do his business. they gave away the smaller dog eventually because it was hyperactive and kept urinating on the carpet. they abandoned the house and their mess along with it… the slumlord vacuumed but I went over it with the Arm and Hammer animal odor eliminated stuff and my Dyson ball for animals vacuum, then let the house air out for a few hours. it perfumed the smell and still reeked of dogs. then I rented a Rug Doctor from Wal Mart and used the Rug Doctor shampoo for animals… I went over the carpet twice (spraying forward and back) and once again opened the windows and doors for a few hours. keeping in mind my 2 year-old son has had allergic conjunctivitis and a fever from going in and out of this disaster area for 2 days, I am enraged at this point because the overwhelming perfume smell was gone but the dog smell was still obviously there. I went to Petco last night to find ANYTHING with a hefty price tag on it that looked like it would work (without having to rent a carpet cleaner again) and bought this for $15.99 along with a lavender-scented Arm and Hammer odor-eliminating candle (which I haven't tested yet). I went over every inch of that God-forsaken carpet… today, the air in that placed is finally neutralized!!! there is a faint smell of the spray but 1.) I agree that my dog, a lab hates the flavor and was seeking out the pill and spitting it out until I tried baby food turkey and chicken in the little jars. My 12 year old Shiba Inu had 850 liver enzymes. That's so bad and I was so stressed. She has been on this stuff for over 1 year and now her enzymes are about 420. Cocker has “dry eyes and prescribed steroids and cyclosporine twice daily each eye. Suspect his extremely elevated liver enzymes may be due to long term steroid use or could just be his age. Haven’t tested for Cushing’s but sonograms reveal no tumors on liver or pituitary glands. He was lethargic and never feeling well until his doctor advised trying the Denamarin. His Opthalmologist concurred it was a great idea. Haven’t yet tested his liver enzymes again to see if the numbers have improved (hasn’t been on them quite a full month) but I’ve reordered and will receive the pills monthly. Bottom line: he’s a lot more energetic, playing with his toys again, not sleeping all the time, just overall feeling so much better. He’s acting normal again—normal for an 11-plus year-old Cocker. Did a lot of research before giving him the Denamarin and felt they were safe, and most people had positive results using it. Only drawback would be that the pills for large dogs are really big. You’re supposed to administer 1 hr before or 2 hrs after a meal, which I do with a little piece of boiled chicken breast to hide it and help it go down, and it goes down without a problem. Can’t imagine any dog of any size being able to swallow a pill that size without an owner hiding it in a little chunk of something, cheese, pill pocket, treat. Anything to help it go down easier. And helps if they drink a little water. Can’t wait to have his liver enzymes tested again. I’m confident they will have improved. Side note: when one’s liver is not working properly, urine can have an odd and strong odor, which his did. Standing several feet away, I knew something wasn’t right. That too has resolved which makes me believe his liver is on the mend.Yvonne

I am buying a gallon of this today after having bought a spray bottle size of it from Pet Supermarket on the advice of one of their clerks when looking for something to deal with really pungent odor left by roof rat that found it's way into the basement. Yeesh. I sprayed the the concrete floor and wall really well where the smell was coming from and the smell was gone just as soon as the product dried. The clerk suggested this because it was to be used on concrete and I didn't want to have to go back in and scrub or rinse or brush or vacuum. It did the trick.I've also had many geriatric cats over the years and used various products for their messes and marking issues. All of the products I'd used worked pretty well but this has worked best of any of them.At present I have a 25 year old cat who is no longer able to use the litter box regularly so besides limiting his access to most of the house, I am using pee pads and this product to clear up urine and feces that don't make it to the box.I use it on ceramic tile floor and hardwood flooring sealed with an unknown sealer. The wood floor finish is no worse for the use (but I don't let the product sit on the wood for longer than it takes to spray and wipe up) and the tile takes it like a champ. I have gone back and dry polished the wood floor to bring the shine back up as the product leaves a bit of a residue but a buff with a regular clean shammy cloth quickly takes care of that.Periodically I am cleaning both types of flooring with appropriate methods and have had no "smell-through" or resurfacing stains.After 40-ish years of multiple cats and the one episode with the roof rat visit I am happy the rat came along or I would not have known this product worked so well.K. First, if you are reading this review, please know that I am sorry you find yourself, like me, comparison shopping for cat urine remedy products, and I hope things get better. This is not on my list of "fun ways to spend Friday night," but here we are…at the mercy of an orange tabby cat….he knows who he is…. Second, I feel like I have tried every cat urine stain and odor remover product under the sun, and Skout's Honor products, especially the cat-specific products, have worked the best for me and our household. While Skout's Honor cleansers are not enzyme-based, I feel like they work just as effectively if not better than the enzyme cleaners I have tried. And, the smell of the Skout's Honor products is pleasant unlike the strong, perfume-heavy scent of many other products that just masks the cat urine odor. I have used Skout's Honor on carpet, clothing, bedding, and a mattress, and it has not stained or bleached any surface so far. My male cat peed A LOT on a brand new comforter, and this not only removed the large stain but also the truly awful smell. I was so certain I would have to throw the comforter away or burn it and was convinced that odor would haunt me even then, but the severe mess urine and odor destroyer actually worked. I’m never going back to natures miracle. This stuff really really works. I have been fostering for 12 years and it’s been a challenge to find something that completely gets rid of the smell of cat urine from soft surfaces. The smell is gone almost instantaneously. The best part about it is that there is no perfume that covers up the smell, so you can tell whether or not it is actually working. I’ve had as many as 14 in my house at a time and you cannot smell cat *at all*. I keep my house clean and this helped clean it to the next level. I have purchased both the gallon and the spray bottle. If you purchase the spray bottle, I’d advise you to put the liquid into another bottle as the skouts honor bottle is pretty terribly constructed to where the lid constantly falls off and it leaks. My cat is a little different, he's special needs and has seizures. During his seizures unfortunately he releases his bladder leaving me with a lot of clean-up. I purchased this product because it was recommended by "Dr. Debra's" cat and dog information site as well as an infomercial. I decided to give it a try. I have many cats and I'm constantly cleaning the litter box. However, where my biggest concern was, are the trash cans in which I discard the litter. Please keep in mind, that all discarded litter goes into two plastic well sealed bags, thus, I try to prevent odor and leakage from occurring. Keep in mind it is summer, and there is also household trash in the trash bins. So, there is regular household trash, discarded kitty litter, and summer heat, not to mention the trash bins are picked up once a week. The odor was too much to bare! These diffusers are effective but theyre not something you plug in and witness instant behavior improvement. Sometimes dogs will adjust after being exposed to the pheromones after a few days, in our case it was weeks, so patience is required. Even then, the change in our two anxious basset hounds was subtle but noticeable. I see the difference in their anxiety if I dont replace the diffuser immediately. I think it does work! She seems calmer does not seem to startle as much. In fact, she slept through the fireworks on the 4th. It has no scent to humans, so you won’t even detect it’s plugged in. We will keep using it I do think it’s worth trying if you have an anxious dog!tracy.h

We started using this product as part of an anxiety reduction training for our dog as recommended by a behavior specialist veterinarian. We have one in the bedroom he sleeps in and another in the front room where he spends his days. It is amazing how much more calm he is as he was on medication alone and he just needed a little something more. We also use the Adaptil spray when we go on rode trips.
