im very dissapointed in the fact that you make a roll of wire thats 1000 feet long but one of your shortest spools you offer has a twist splice not even 20 feet into it, i mean, the quality of the wire seems very nice, but come on, remove the splice and sell it as a 50 or 75 foot spool, i feel cheated, nobody likes to have to splice a wire randomly in the middle, its a weak spot and is a likely spot for corrosion and catching while your pulling it through tight spaces. as much as i like the quality of the wire, im not sure i would buy it again knowing this, and from some of the other reviews, i should have measured it to see if it was actually 100 ft, looks like they can sometimes try to get you that way aswell. The manual says the wire can be up to 150' long. However, I've successfully used it with 300' of wire to keep my cat out of a chicken pen! One day is all it took for my escape artist to stay in the yard. We now know that our fur-babies are safe in thier own area, Sure beats running home several times a day to round them up. Very easy to install, took us about 4 hours from start to finish. We did not bury the wire (one is a digger) but put it into PVC around the yard. It protects the wire from lawnmowers, weed eaters and digging. The wite PVC also serves as a reminder to the dogs that it is the line in the sand to not cross. It was easy to put the wire around a herb garden to keep themy from jumping on it, My big guy will bolt to the corner of the yard but hits the brakes hard within five feet of the line. I set up the white flags around the yard so they will know where to stop. The directions were easy to understand and online had pictures to give us ideas and how tho set off areas. Excellent total package. Put a 70 lb strong active pit bull on this cable run and he's doing great. I considered going to the hardware store and purchasing all the items needed to build my own heavy duty dog run system but you can't do it for this package price. The leash is attached to an all steel well made unit that has a swivel so that the cable can't get twisted which is super important. The cable that runs between 2 big trees is 60 feet long which is a great length. The leash cable however is only 10 feet long. I'd like to see the leash maybe 12 to 15 feet long but 10 feet isn't bad. It all beats the heck out of a chain around a tree for sure. He's thrilled that he can now actually run back and fourth and seems so much happier.todd6939

I had a great experience. Landscapers had put in a row of bushes when we were out of town and I had no idea where the wire was and where it was cut. The Wire Break detector was delivered right away. Instructions were clear and it was easy to set up. I found the break in 10 minutes. I’m glad I bought the detector as it saved a lot of time. The item worked well finding the underground wire but the stick that holds the receiver broke before I made 1 loop around my yard. Very cheaply made handle but its made as part of the receiver so it was very difficult to fix. Had to use electrical tape and popsicle sticks.. This is a good, strong cable for a tie-out. However, the clip at the end isn't one that can spin when the dog tangles it. The clip releases the dog occasionally after it becomes twisted just right. I have solved the issue by adding an additional clip that is capable of spinning to the end. I'm giving 3 stars for the strong, well-made cable, but it lost 2 because of the poor planning on the end clip.Myst

I am about to buy my third one and I wouldn't if I wasn't happy with the product. He wraps it around and knots it up, then the coating breaks, then rusts, and he breaks it. I am going to put the ground anchor close to house this time so that he can't tangle it up. If you consider placement you should have no problems.
