But, despite measuring and it appearing to fit exactly as described in the instructions, he had NO TROUBLE getting to the growth on his underside. Complete waste of time and money. He may as well be wearing a sock. We tightened everything to the point of it being uncomfortable for the dog and still he just reaches around like its nothing. I am a vet assistant, and I see all kinds of animals coming in with different skin conditions or allergies and always felt so bad for them and their owners….. then I got a dog with allergies and then I found out what it's really like…. it is devastating watching your dog itch and scratch to the point of pulling their hair out, then when the hair is gone… then there goes their skin…. they will make themselves bleed and still won't stop. I tried benadryl I tried EVERYTHING, had to even do skin antibiotics and steroid Injections and still he was itching…. so… the dr tried him on this….. now… first thing I will say is this medication isn't cheap especially for bigger dogs (if you have a 10lbs dog it's not going to be too bad) but my poor dog had to start off taking 2 16mg 2 times a day and it was roughly 300 for the first month, however from there you taper down and after a few months I got him down to half a tablet once daily…. anyway…. this medication worked like a dream for him. He hasn't had any issues for over a year now and although sometimes he scratches its more of a normal itch. This medication literally saved him and my sanity. I highly recommend trying this if your pets dr thinks it's a good fit.michelle.e

I've put this shoe through 50 miles at this point, mainly on long runs over 10 miles. It is a great ride, with enough space in the toe box for those longer runs. The midsole foam does an excellent job at providing cushioning but remains responsive so that even at the end of a long run my feet feel in good shape. I also have a pair of Hoka Mach 4's, and in my personal opinion, I enjoy the Novablast 2's more and feel that they are the more comfortable shoe overall, and especially for longer runs. Overall this is a comfortable daily trainer with decent energy return that allows for quicker than usual pace with similar perceived effort. Pros: very comfortable upper, great midsole padding, good traction, and overall durability seems superior to most Hoka’s I’ve bought Cons: Not crazy exciting (not boring necessarily) but doesn’t feel like anything special underfoot. The big problem that made me give it 4 stars is it rolls my foot inward. I’ve been a neutral runner for 20 years. I’ve never seen my foot so this but I can see and feel my foot roll inward, especially when walking a cool down. My knees have hurt after 6-8 mile runs when they didn’t in the gliderides or Mach 4s. It's a pretty good shoe. Fairly comfortable, removed the stitching on the tongue from the first model that pressed into your skin, which is great. They're also more stable than the prior ones with more cushioning, especially in the front where the last ones fell short. My only complaint is that the hard coating over the end or the shoe goes up so far, not talking about the rubber. It causes my toe to hit it and will likely give me callouses like the last one did, especially on the downhills. Something should be done about it, but you'll have to research more. Still way better than the pegasus about it (wouldn't buy those again). Also, the blue is very bright, it would be better if it was a bolder tourquoise but all these color choices are booty. We are happier too, as it is more flexible, so she doesn't knock things over so much, and she can still cuddle up with us on the sofa. Only issue (which I think would be the same with the plastic cone) is that she has learnt to be able to chew the dressings on her paws even when wearing the cone. She excels in removing them! I received the collar and opened it to put on my cat. I immediately noticed the pleasant smell of the collar and how soft and flexible the collar was. It went on with ease and was simple to put on. The purple color was a nice contrast as well. The cat is leaving it alone and when I pick her up that light scent was very nice and not over powering. I highly recommend the color for comfort, style and I really like that the effectiveness is for 7 months. Before using the collar I had a situation were my other pet who is a dog woke up one morning and couldn't walk and was in pain. As it turned out he had contracted lymes disease from a tick. He is doing better but was on medication for a month and a very expensive hospital visit for him. My decision was to get collars that I can trust and be confident in. I received a Hartz® UltraGuard® Flea & Tick Collar for Dogs – White in exchange for a review. I loved the fact that there is enough length in the collar that it would fit multiple size dogs. I put this on my 62 pound Pittie the very first day I received it. I did have a little trouble getting the end through the buckles but luckily, my dog is very patient. I haven’t noticed any adverse effects on his skin nor scratching where the collar is. I do have some very tall grass that he likes to run and play in on a regular basis and I typically use some sort of OTC drops from the store. My dogs go to the groomer for their baths every 6 weeks and I was shocked when they told me my german shepherd had a few fleas on him and the groomer informed me that fleas were bad this year because my dogs have never had fleas., so in a rush, I ordered these flea collars and they seem to work but I also use a spray bottle with 1 cup of apple cider vinegar mixed with 2 cups of water and spray it on my hands then rub my dogs down before they go outside in the mornings first of day then I spray their beds a spritz of it and voila!!!! no more fleas!!!!!! Raja Krishnamoorthi, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic and Consumer Policy, released a staff report entitled “Seresto Flea and Tick Collars: Examining Why a Product Linked to More than 2,500 Pet Deaths Remains on the Market,” which details the findings of the Subcommittee’s 16-month investigation into the safety of the Seresto flea and tick collar. The report reveals that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under previous administrations was aware of the dangers of the Seresto collar as early as 2015 and failed to take action to protect pets and their owners. Scientific experts, a former EPA official, and pet owners will testify about the dangers of the Seresto collar and the findings of the Subcommittee’s report at a hearing this afternoon.

“It is unacceptable that the EPA has been aware of the Seresto collar’s safety concerns for years and has continued to allow Americans to unknowingly put their pets in danger by using a product they have been led to believe is safe,” said Chairman Krishnamoorthi. “While I am pleased by the EPA’s new commitment to revisit the incident data, I urge the agency to initiate formal Notice of Intent to Cancel proceedings to determine whether the Seresto collar should be removed from the market, including a comprehensive cost-benefit review of its serious risks. Following the Subcommittee’s disturbing findings, I believe the EPA must expand its data collection standards and more strictly follow its scientific review process to ensure that dangerous products are not permitted to stay on the market and threaten the welfare of pets that so many Americans view as family.”

The Seresto flea and tick collar received EPA approval in 2012 and was introduced to the market in 2013. Since then, Bayer—the original brand owner of the collar—and Elanco—which purchased the product in 2020, have sold more than 30 million collars. Pet owners embraced the convenience of the product, which provides 8 months of flea and tick protection for dogs and cats for under $70, and which is widely sold by pet specialty stores, online pet pharmacies, and large online retailers.

The Subcommittee launched its investigation into the collars in March 2021, following the publication of an investigative report which revealed that, as of June 2020, there had been more than 75,000 incidents and approximately 1,700 pet deaths linked to the Seresto collar. Since then, the reported numbers have increased to more than 98,000 incidents and 2,500 pet deaths.

The Subcommittee reviewed emails from the EPA, as well as documents from Bayer and Elanco, that showed the EPA was aware of these incident numbers and the dangers caused by the collar yet failed to act. Documents and communications obtained by the Subcommittee reveal:

EPA Rushed Seresto’s Approval Through a Flawed Scientific Review Process: An EPA Risk Manager wrote in 2016 that the agency “rushed” the Seresto collar’s registration so that the CDC could use the collars in a study. The California Department of Pesticide Regulation found that key studies that tested the Seresto collar on adult dogs and cats were not acceptable because the studies “greatly under-estimated the exposures” to one of the collar’s active ingredients. We bought two that corresponded to neck size, but the cone depth is insufficient. You need a cone depth that exceeds the end of your dog’s snout. I am a vet assistant, and I see all kinds of animals coming in with different skin conditions or allergies and always felt so bad for them and their owners….. then I got a dog with allergies and then I found out what it's really like…. it is devastating watching your dog itch and scratch to the point of pulling their hair out, then when the hair is gone… then there goes their skin…. they will make themselves bleed and still won't stop. I tried benadryl I tried EVERYTHING, had to even do skin antibiotics and steroid Injections and still he was itching…. so… the dr tried him on this….. now… first thing I will say is this medication isn't cheap especially for bigger dogs (if you have a 10lbs dog it's not going to be too bad) but my poor dog had to start off taking 2 pills 2 times a day and it was roughly 300 for the first month, however from there you taper down and after a few months I got him down to half a tablet once daily…. anyway…. this medication worked like a dream for him. My dog had surgery on his paw and has to wear a cone for 7 days. The one from the vet had plastic loops to connect to the collar. He has had a very difficult time getting comfortable and seeing around since the plastic wasn't really clear. I saw this online and bought it to see if it would help. I don't think any cone would be ideal but I have to say that this works out a lot better than the other cone. It took him a moment to get used to the fabric parts and ran into some items during that time. I don't love that it doesn't keep a round shape and just falls on his head while lying down, however, it's flexible fit allows for more movement when he lays next to an object, or me. I think it fits comfortably around the neck. He seems much more comfortable and able to fall asleep without without struggling to get adjusted. I am overall happy that I bought it. I think it was overpriced but in these situations I would pay a lot for his comfort.Hurley0902

I bought two of these products this week for my dog who’s neck is about 18inches. The company’s site recommends to size up if your pet is between sizes which he is between L/XL… this may not be the best option for all. In the size Large my dog had the right fit to see and function normally BUT he could still lick his leg, which was the whole reason for the cone. With the size XL it just barely velcros around his neck and he can’t do much because the top of the cone flops into his eyes constantly. This is still the best option over a traditional cone which is why this got a 3 and not a 1/5. The other issue I have with it is that it should have snaps instead of Velcro. Our dog isn’t particularly sensitive to sounds but the Velcro is right next to his ears and he’s terrified of it. I’d love a better version of this maybe a large that extends a little past 18 inches or maybe even a size L/XL. Honestly I would’ve returned the product if he didn’t get hair all over the velcro on both of them. Maybe if your pet is between sizes shop around for something else.DogParent25

I bought this when my sons husky got spayed at age 2. She didn’t like the plastic one we got from the vet and was bumping into everyone and it’s so jolting because they are hard plastic. This Zen one worked perfectly for her! She was much more comfortable and when she bumped into things it has some give. She could see out the clear windows which was nice too. She has a long nose and still was not able to reach her incision. My other sons dog (cattle dog mix) had an issue with his skin around the same time and got a bad hot spot so he needed to wear a cone for awhile. While he didn’t like any cones he did better with the plastic one from The vet because he didn’t like that this flopped on his face when he laid down. Recently my sons other husky needed one for an injury to her leg that required staples. She tolerated this cone very well and did not like the plastic one. So overall I say it’s worth a shot. I personally love this one, it’s easy to wash, easy to put on and take off you just weave their own collar through the straps and close it up with the Velcro. Just an FYI the round donut looking collar doesn’t work. We tried that as well and the husky was able to reach her incision so if you’re debating on that type or this one, definitely go with this one.Trish505

disappointed. Its a poor design. The rounded part (NOT the part against the dogs neck) is what really vibrates. My dog (35lb spaniel) doesn't seem to feel it! Also "high" vs "low" setting – Low is slow, High is faster, but still not vibrating MORE! I intend to try to put it on some other way adn trying more, but so far totally useless.
