My son gifted us the Kurgo Bench seat cover. While I appreciate the cover that it protects our Toyota Camry back seat. Our Kurgo cover is coming apart. There is a tear in the fabric about 2-3 inches long. And the waterproof lining is falling apart and shedding on our car. The Kurgo cover does not fit the entire seat – it covers one side but won't cover the other side of the bench seat- it is not wide enough. We have been using the Kurgo Bench Seat Cover since late November/early December of 2017. We bought it to try and save the backseat of our then-new car from enormous dog paws. All was well for a surprisingly long time! It held well to the seat and didn't slip around at all. It kept all of the black dog hair and muddy paw prints off the upholstery as well! Then, disaster struck. Our 150lb Great Dane had been using the same side to get in and out of the car since we got the cover, and the poor headrest strap snapped under the wear after about a year and a quarter. This is a quite nice and sturdy seat protector! The only negative is it's a bit slick compared to the quilted one we had before that wasn't so sturdy, but our lab was used to getting in and out on. We remedied that by putting 2 carpet samples across the seat on top of it. They have a rubber bottoms and soft carpet tops so our big lab loves it and no sliding! The security straps that fasten to the headrests are strong and adjustable so the height is easy to lower or raise according to how nosy your dog is…ours is very nosy and wants to know what is going on in the front seat all the time, so we have the front seat attachments extended so he can easily see up front. What a great seat cover. It's so thick & sturdy. I love that it has the rubbery underside, so it won't slide off the seat. I have a split back seat, to which I always leave 1 seat down (for equipment). This cover allows me to hook it onto the upright seat & lay it over the folded seat, yet be able to secure it to the upright headrests. I also like that it has the velcro close for the seatbelt hole. When I don't want to use it, my dogs paws won't get caught in the hole. In fact, the only thing I didn't like was that it didn't come with instructions, so I had to go online to look at pictures to figure out how to install it. Once done, it's really very easy. It also has loops to place on the front seat backrests to make it sort of a confined space/hammock. Just bought one of these for our new Dodge Durango. It held up very well on a nearly 4000 mile trip to the Rapid City, SD area to visit the Black Hills, Badlands, and Devil's Tower areas. Looks to be very waterproof, as the dog got wet several times, and spilled out of his water bowl a couple times. We bought the Regular size for a mid-sized SUV. A large one "might" have been better, but hard to say without having one of those to compare. It still covered both seats, including the sides, very well, and the large might be too much for a mid-size like the Durango. We like it, and would buy again. One note; if you have a mid-size SUV and no bench seat in 2nd row, you will need rolled up blankets or foam or cushions to even the entire 2nd row out for your dog, one the cover is down, so your 2nd row is more even, and more like a bench.Joseph C.
This is my second seat cover. I had to replace the other because the straps rotted in the sun and the backing of the cover degraded from wear. I can tell right away that this cover is much higher quality and will last much longer. The installation was quick and easy. However, the spacing between my headrests was 7" shorter than the cover, leaving a substantial gap. I sewed a heavy-duty piece of wide elastic that protected the piece from dog parts (LOL). The material was instantly accepted by my dogs, and we're all ready for many years of use. I have a Mustang Convertible with leather bucket seats in the back. I regularly take my dogs hiking and swimming, and so there is a lot of mud and water! This cover adequately protects the seat all the way up to the headrests. It tucks nicely under the seat and stays in place. I put a couple of pillows into the "buckets" to get a flatter seating area for the dogs. I hesitated to buy this because I did not really want a cover that attached to the back of my front seats because I thought my dog would have a hard time getting in and out, but I decided that I could just leave it hanging down. It was easy to install and seems to be of good quality. My 80 lb golden retriever has not scratched a hole in it, which is a good thing. I am impressed how well this seat protector fits on the back seat of my Ford F150. The elastic attached to the cover, to go around the head rests and elastic top seat corners fit perfectly and really holds the cover in place. There is enough fabric that I was able to tuck in the cover where the top and bottom of the seat meets (where the seat belts hook) which I really liked. It gives it a "finished" look and not "sloppy". There are 2 large velcro openings so the seat belt hooks are able to come through the cover, see pic, but they velcro shut if you don't want openings for the seat belts (if using for a pet or cargo and not people). Note…you can not use the 3rd seat belt in an F150 back seat with this cover because there is no slit for the 3rd seat belt shoulder harness to come through at the top of the cover. The fabric is spot clean only, not machine washable, but seems like it will hold up really well. It was very comfortable to sit on while riding in the vehicle. This was great for my Mom's Toyota 4Runner, but didn't work so well in my little sedan. It hooks on to the headrests easily enough and is made of durable material so the dog's nails won't rip it up. Our dog didn't find the smell offensive, either, after I aired it out for a day. I have a labrador that enjoys car ride. I was looking for a replacement for the slinguard and thought to try something new. When the new kurgo hammock arrived, I was excited then it came crashing soon after I opened it. Its not sturdy and for the price I was expecting more. We just got back from a SF->Seattle round trip car drive for Thanksgiving and this product worked great for our Acura TSX wagon and 55# Standard Poodle. The dog refuses to stay in the "way back" of the wagon, so this provided her a place to chill out and watch out the window. It prevents her from falling into the footwells during a sudden stop, and still allows her to be close to us and stare out the window for the 36 hours of driving. I like that it has seatbelt access, as I was able to install a tether and harness to keep her safer in the event of an accident. Overall this is a great seat cover. the pieces that tuck into the back of the seat cushion keep it in place and make this a better cover than any I have has before. However, I bought a seat cover from plush paws before this one and it had 3 straps to loop over back head rests. This one only has 2. I would prefer 3 as the back stays up in place much better with 3 strapsLinda G.
This is a very nice quality product and worked exactly as advertised, however my older dog did not like the high jump onto the back seat of my GMC Sierra pick up, so my wife sewed a "panel" of Cordura fabric into the middle of the unit we purchased (she cut the seam where the quilted section meets the smooth fabric section and sewed in the cordura panel) which allowed me to fold up the seat and utilize the entire unit to line the folded rear seat, floor area, and up the backs of the front seat. Works great and is a much easier egress for my dog(s). I also purchased the window covers and extended them as well now that the dogs are at floor level. The company was a pleasure to work with and we received the products very quickly.Greg F.
This cover is holding up very well. We go to the park daily to walk the dog even in bad weather. This cover has kept the leather interior dry and clean and it stays in place well. We like that it has side panels that go down around the side of the back seats. On the really wet days we put up the the side that attaches to the front seat headrests for extra protection. My husband didn’t want to buy a cover because in the past they have not been a good fit. This cover fits like a glove! We have a mid size sedan with a light leather interior. He’s a believer now. It’s a little more money but then you get what you pay for. We would definitely recommend this cover.Nancy H.

Typically seats like this have handle-inserts that you tuck into the car seat to keep them secure. Over all nice quality, I’m just concerned about them shifting around without that extra grip. DONT BUY!!! Spend the extra money to buy a quality product rather than having than making another purchase like I have to. The zippers to enclose the dogs and protect the interior is complete bull. The zippers dont stay up at all. They just keep coming down and they destroyed my door panels. Youll have to custom rig it yourself so it doesnt keep happening. This fits well in my 2015 Prius. I love that it's waterproof! My previous seat cover was always covered in golden retriever hair, even after washing. This is so easy to clean. So far I have just swept the dirt and hair out with a towel. Quick and easy. I worried that this seat cover might slide around, but it stays perfectly in place. We bought for the hammock configuration to keep our elderly hiking buddy from falling into the footwells when we braked to slowed suddenly. It's definitely sturdy and easy to install, and it has worked as intended. However it is VERY noisy and not at all absorbent – so much so I've folded up the old microfiber seat cover so he doesn't make a racket moving around. And the cleats are too flimsy to hold the cover in place. Unless you're using it hammock-style and secured front and back to the headrests, it's going to slid all over. Whether I'd recommend it to anyone would really depend on how they want to use it.BethRA
The material is EXTREMELY durable and very high quality, but the design has some problems. While I like that it has fabric that extends down over the side of the seats to protect the edges, the inserts that are meant to slide into the seats to hold the cover in place don't work, so the entire cover will shift to one side when my dog jumps in, exposing one side of the seats, despite the extra protective fabric. The slits in the cover, meant to allow seat belts and buckles to pass through, also allow a tremendous amount of dirt and liquid to leak onto the seats. Every time I move this cover, I find that my seats are really dirty, and even stained from water from my wet dog (not even spills). I love the ability to use as a hammock or just a cover, the versatility is really nice. The buckles that clip around the headrests are well constructed and very adjustable. This thing holds onto smells like no fabric I have ever seen. Even after a good washing, the thing reeks. The material is quiet, it doesn't crinkle or make any weird noises that dogs don't like. My dog has no problem sitting on the cover, even though she is picky about some materials.Alex

I bought this 3 hr's ago. I knew I'd been ripped off as soon as I opened it. Remember those red an d white checkered table cloths your mom would pull out at the campsite and then throw away when done? The kind that were fuzzy on the white side and ripped with little effort? This hammock is made out of slightly more durable material, slightly. On top of that I drive an F-150, the most common bench rest back seat in the world…. this hammock doesn't even come close to fitting. Just awful, really horrible, not even going to attempt to use it. Returning it tomorrow. Maybe I'm just being overly critical of something that cost $60….?MattyNels
This is definitely not worth the $80! I wanted to try this brand because it is so expensive, I figured that with such an expensive product, it must be good, nope. There is no way to keep the sides secured down (or up as some covers have the straps you can clip to the roof handles), I will insert photos of why this is a problem. Also, the zipper that goes straight down the middle in the front is so easily unzipped all my dog has to do is push up against it and it basically zips all the way down. This might be good for dogs who are medium sized and are not very energetic. Overall really disappointed in how this product turned out.ecarlson1
We have had the hammock installed in the car for a few weeks now. The dogs love it because they now have a little more room. You can see in the photo how they can lean on both sides now. They look so cozy. I have been satisfied with the quality. I wonder if the other review was for a different product. I doesn't seem like the disposable table cloth material to me. So far so good no damage and still looks great. My only issue with it is the coverage on the sides. I can't seem to get the ends to stay put and they don't give enough coverage to keep hair from getting down below on the carpet. But an improvement for sure. I have seen other models that appear to offer more coverage around the doors that may deal with this concern. Overall very happy with this purchase.Nakosi

I have two elderly fawn pugs that shed CONSTANTLY, and black cloth car seats. The task of vacuuming dog hair out of the car seats seemed endless. Not only does this keep the hair off the seats, but the pugs are more comfortable and secure. It takes a bit of fuss to get it properly adjusted, but once that's done, it can be removed and replaced quickly. This product is a great idea and overall worked well. Minus the one star because it doesn't fit like it is supposed to in my minivan. I had to attach the connecting straps to the middle headrest and the handle on the back of the passenger side. I have used this for a month like this and it has held up. The dogs love it, and I can put other people in the backseat without having to move anything. The dogs are more secure and do not slide around on it. I bought this because I wanted to keep the backseat of my CR-V relatively free of dog hair and debris while also allowing for a second row human passenger (without having to undo an entire hammock), or to have the extra designated space for camping gear when we're traveling (without worrying it will topple over onto our pup). My 40 lb mixed breed fits perfectly in this and it able to lounge out in any position. I've put a dog bed down over it – she curls up on that, snuggles into the inner side of the hammock and falls fast asleep. The pocket is great for storing her leash, water bottle and a toy or two for entertainment on longer road trips. This hammock is very durable and my dog absolutely loves it. I should note that a dog larger than 70 lbs might not be as comfortable in this on longer trips. My other dog, an 80lb malamute, prefers riding in her XL Ruff Tough crate in the rear of the SUV because she likes to stretch out – not something she is able to do in the half-hammock.
