Seems like good construction. I liked the pads on top to prevent pinching, but overall, it is still the same standard harness you can get everywhere. Unfortunately, I am still on the hunt for a good harness to use for running with my dog. The harness rubbed under his armpits and rubbed them raw. The look of the harness is great however the material cannot stand up to chewing which is not covered under warranty. I bought one yesterday and this morning I left to get breakfast and when I got back 20 minutes later he had chewed through one of the straps and had taken a chuck out of the nylon canvas chest piece. Very disappointed in the product and was hoping it was made better and would hold up for years like their jackets have.Brady

Rugged ,tough , durable harness . Works like it should . It takes a little time to get a proper adjustment , unless your dog is growing it's a one time thing . We like it better than other harnesses we have . I find it laughable that people would give a poor review because their dog chewed on it . That's on the owner and their poor dog . With a husky puppy, I’m sure you can imagine how much energy he has and how it can be hard to get him to calm down at times. However, with this harness, I can get a pretty firm grip on him in any instance. The handle stretches and pulls out so long that he can be a few feet away from me and still restrained. There are two heavy duty buckles on the sides behind his front legs, a strap between the two that around around his body on his chest, and it’s super thick. When it’s time to go outside, I’ll call him over and he is eager to put his head through the hole so I can fasten him in. There’s a bunch of padding so it doesn’t get uncomfortable on him and the handle that pulls out is comfortable on my hands. When we’re going long distance I can just attach his leash to the metal clip and we’re ready for a nice long walk, with no complaints from my puppy of course and none from me either because of how much Sherpa has simplified our walking process, no matter the distance we’re walking.Anniemoooo

Finally a harness that is comfortable and gives me so much control. I have more control over our very large hound than I have ever had with her. The harness remains comfortable for her and has pads under several places that could rub her when she is being walked. She is a puller and often times ends up gagging and coughing because of it. This harness is correcting all of that. It is well made and I expect it to last for some time. It took a few minutes to get the fit exactly right and a little trial and error. But we ended up fitting her so that it is not too tight or binding but is still secure. We have the size XL for her. She weighs about 120 pounds and a very large girth. The XL is a good fit for her. She is five years old and I wish that I had this all along.cintikath

I have an extra large boxer. It's so hard to find any type of harness that fits him good. His chest is huge and that causes issues. I have the Sherpa Dog Harness in extra large. This harness is padded and has a built in leash. It has a padded handle to quickly restrain your dog if needed. This has came in handy. My boxer gets really excited and I can hold the handle which keeps him from getting away from me. This harness is also adjustable on each part of the harness. This harness is made really good and has reflective stitching to make sure you are seen at night. This harness doesn't bother my dog. When I pick it up, he gets excited. He knows it is time for a walk. If you have an animal and need a harness, I recommend trying this one.Amanda05

I got one of these for each of my dogs, along with matching leashes. I was really excited for them but not in love once they finally arrived. Partially my fault – when I saw reviews mentioning the new neck clip, I thought that meant they had added it to every color, not just the new bright yellow. Unfortunately I don't like that color, and the lack of a neck clip on the ones I got is REALLY annoying. It's just too much effort to loosen and tighten the neck multiple times a day when I want to walk my dogs. For now I'm only using it on the dog that pulls more on walks, or when they both need to ride in the car, and I'm looking for a replacement for the meantime. If they add neck clips to the other colors I'd definitely repurchase though. The other small but annoying issue is that the fabric "wings" of the harness aren't attached to the straps if that makes sense – it's only sewn together in the center. That means that despite how soft and comfy the material it is, it tends to slip out from underneath the straps while my dog walks. I can easily fix this with a few stitches but I feel like it shouldn't be necessary. The good parts: the fabric is really soft and smooth and lightly padded so it seems very comfy, and the colors are great.Molly C.

I realllllly wanted to love the Wild Ones walk kit I got. I like my leash, albeit a little heavy and I love the poop bags – they're luxurious to the touch but feel substantial when picking up messes. also the bag holder is luxe too and very sturdy. The harness is so cute on my little 10 lb maltese mutt puppy but unfortunately, he absolutely hates the neck part sliding over his face. he has a meltdown and is aggravated every time. some of the newer Wild One colors have the feature where the neck buckles similarly to the chest part (this came out after I ordered mine) but honestly, it should just be standard across all the colors. Maybe that's the plan after they sell out of inventory, but until that is the case, I won't be replacing the harness when my pup grows out of the XS. I bought a step-in harness of Amazon that has done the trick and both me and my pup have much chiller walk times because of it. Still love the leash and poo bags/holder!Clareen

I was so excited to receive the harness – it seemed like a huge upgrade from the old one I bought from Tractor Supply that my dog was using. Well. It took twice as long as expected to arrive which is ridiculous when I paid for shipping. The shipping fees were refunded, but I had purchased the item with the intent to use it by a specific date which didn’t happen since it didn’t arrive until MUCH later. When it finally did show up the package was ripped almost completely open and the packaging of the product was all messed up which is also ridiculous. Alright it’s here, looks like **** but it’s here. It’s a much brighter blue than I expected which I like. It took a little while to figure out how to adjust as the ends were so firmly tucked into the harness I thought I was going to break it. Finally got it on and adjusted and “Meh”. It’s not deep enough (front to back) in my opinion, and my dog is not an odd or unusual shape. I do like that it covers less surface area, she appears to stay cooler (but a double coated black dog in the humid Midwest is always hot). It does sag when wet (which is almost always as she swims regularly) BUT it dries and goes back to the original fit which is a pro I guess. I say I guess because I didn’t expect a harness I paid over $80 to sag at all when wet but ‍♀ It doesn’t show any wear yet which it shouldn’t for only having it 2 weeks. It does shift like crazy. Not as bad as the cheap tractor supply one, but again I expected ZERO shifting from the $80+ harness. Honestly I probably won’t buy again. I was super excited to find a harness with everything I wanted: reflectors (which the ones on this harness ****, seriously for $80 y’all couldn’t put reflective piping on all edges?!), a handle on the back, bright blue, goes over the head/ NOT a step through and had a back leash clip. But honestly I’m pretty disappointed. There is a lot of room for improvement in what I consider an expensive harness (more reflective piping, padding under the middle set of buckles, better fit, better choice of shipping carriers). I’m not going to get rid of it and it does fit better than the Tractor Supply but I don’t absolutely love it like I hoped.Seva P.

My girl discovered early on that she can back out of her harness in a heartbeat. She can't back out of the Flagline harness (yay!) and – more importantly – if needed, I can pull on the leash / harness without fear of hurting her. (There have been a couple times when we've encountered dogs who are too friendly — having the Flagline harness on my girl made it much easier to pull her back to a safe distance without fear of hurting her or having the harness pop off at a bad time.) The harness is easy to put on / take off. It's strong. The reflective trim helps make her more visible. The adjustable straps make it easy to size up during the winter time when she's got winter coat(s) to accommodate. Having clips for closure is so much nicer than harnesses with velcro closures. (Velcro closure doesn't last long – and trying to wash anything with velcro – oy veh!) The price was a little more than I thought I'd spend for a harness – but having a harness I can trust and that will last is worth every penny. 100% recommend!Karen G.

The harness is super adjustable and fits my pups barrel chest so well! We wanted the waist clip as the single rib clip always slipped off or got loose and it wasn’t enough security for us. We also really love the handles! The front loop works super well to mitigate some pulling (pups only 8 months old) and my favorite feature is the inner material that rests on his body, it’s not mesh or fabric that his short coat sticks into so his hair isn’t being rubbed off or sticking in the harness getting stuck in cracks and making it itchy or difficult to clean. This harness is also super easy to wash and I really love the hardy materials on this harness. Wish it came in orange but the grey works just as well on our pup! This harness just fits Róka so well and I’m so pleased with it!!!! It fits and contours to his whole body and moves with him when he’s moving around! Reglerar man för stort så åker lätt frambenen in emellan, och reglerar man mindre så är den svår att få av. I have a Chocolate Lab that weights in at about 80 pounds. She is really hard to fit for a harness. They are always to big on the top/neck to fit her on the chest. Finally I have one that fits her in both places the she seems very comfortable in. The PetSafe 3 in 1 Harness is adjustable at both the top/neck and the chest. It has a nice padding for comfort. It gives the ability to walk her from the front or back which is great depending on how you want to walk your dog or the situation you are in. Bonus feature for the dog that loves to ride in the car, is the strap on the back that the seat belt can slide through to secure your dog in the car. I can honestly say that the front no pull option didn't stop my girl from pulling if something distracted her enough. But that could just be my dog and the way we have always walked with her.gerberbaby72

Mine ripped in the same place others have complain about. My dog did not chew it. It was so odd as I was taking the dog to class and it just fell apart. Wasn’t even pulling on it. I have two Easy Walk harnesses that are 11 and 12 years old and still going strong. However I bought one for my new puppy and it’s much thinner and flimsy looking. But it didn’t break she just outgrew it. Even though the Petsafe broke it was prettier so I was ready to try one again until I read the reviews and saw others breaking in the same place.MJCB

I love the versatility of this harness. I am able to use this for my car rides or when going out for a walk with my dog. We always have trouble with keeping him still in the car and am afraid he will fall or get hurt when driving. I was able to put this harness and attach to my seat Belt while still giving him wiggle room. It’s great for walking out too the only thing I find uncomfortable is how the front clip is set. It’s supposed to prevent my dog from pulling and it does help with this a lot, however I find it uncomfortable to attach a leash to. Usually I am used to having the leash at the top or dog’s back. This has both so its very versatile like I said. My doggy seems to be comfortable in this harness too so the pull clip I will not use but may work great for other owners. I gave this leash 2 stars because the concept/design is excellent, and for the first 2 miles of our first time using this leash my 88lb Lab was so much easier to walk. He did not pull as frequently, and when he would begin to pull it took very little effort to correct him. I think he enjoyed not having any pressure around his neck, as when we walk with a training collar. We've most frequently been using the "Friendly Leader" head harness, which gives me some measure of control, but he dislikes it. After using it a couple of times he worked out a lightening quick maneuver to unlatch it, an ongoing entertainment now during walks! Needless to say I LOVED using this leash, and my dog was happy too. We purchased the reflective orange size LG. The leash was easy to fit, is soft, and the reflective option is super for walking at night. I was very disappointed when about a half mile from home the loop detached where it had been spliced into the leash, becoming a little stump of rope dangling from the leash. In an instant I went from having perfect control and security of my dog to having a loose dangling length of leash wrapped around his back legs! I managed to tie a few knots as I looped the long length of leash around my dog. Fortunately he was a good sport about it, and blessedly we ran into no "distractions" during the last half mile of our walk, during which he quickly reverted to bulldozer mode being fast to realize nothing was tightening around his chest. I will be sending the leash back tomorrow for a replacement. Because no other reviewer mentioned their leash came apart, I will try one more time, with the hope that the quality of this product is generally much better than the leash we received which fell apart during our very first use. I've got my fingers crossed the replacement lasts, because this concept works.NYTess

My dog seems to like this leash. In the heat/humidity of the low country, this is much better than his having to wear a harness. On the other hand, he is not too happy that he doesn't have the free rein he had with his old leash that gave him 16 feet of running space so he could easily sniff and water everything he believed had been previously marked by other neighborhood dogs. It does take a couple of minutes to figure out how to wrap it all around him, but he seems fine with that, and I am getting much better and quicker at getting him safely ensconced so he can go and check to make sure the neighborhood is safe for democracy. This leash does fray easily, and I have to burn off the fraying every couple of days – not a problem, hold it over a flame on the stove and the fraying disappeared almost instantly. My dog weighs 17 pounds, and it fits him nicely – it supposedly will fit on a dog up to 40 pounds, but if so, I don't know if it would give the dog enough room to roam. The instructions also say the rubber disk will rise and fall. That has not been my experience, maybe because my little guy is on the smaller side (he is a bichon). Altogether, I am happy with the purchase, and my dog is not bound up in a tourniquet (as he views a halter).ACinSC

I bought this for my 3 year old pit/lab mix who has more muscle than he knows what do with. He’s a huge puller and stubborn, he only listens when he wants to. When taking him out and other people/dogs pass by, he would go crazy, sometimes making it very hard for me to even hold on to him. One night I got home from work and he was so happy to see me, he slipped out of his collar while my boyfriend was taking him out to potty. Knowing he is a runner, this terrified me; he would be gone. So I ordered this at the suggestion of my grandmother and he is a changed dog. He no longer pulls me at all. He can’t get out of this lead. I don’t have to take his collar off to put this on (he loves his collar and gets upset when it’s taken off ). My only complaint, which is why I’m giving 4 stars, is the adjustment grips around the neck tend to move often causing me to have to readjust often which is inconvenient when your dog is excited about going out.Mkp217

Like I said in my title, this is a nice set up but the fit is hard to figure out. The harness itself is good quality, all of the sewing looks great, and I feel like it will withstand the test of time. The leash is the same quality. However, in an effort to make this fully adjustable it takes for-ev-er to get it adjusted down to your dogs size. I have a medium sized border collie and though the measurements line up, it’s still a smidge too big for her. Not enough to send back just a note to other owners. Overall it’s A nice set, just make sure you have patience ready for when you go to use it the first time.BBee13

Pet Safe 3 in 1 Harness. The medium size fits 35-65 lb dogs. This is the correct for the standard medium size dogs, The package list measurements for a more precise fit. The halter is nylon with metal rings and plastic clip fasteners. It seems to be made well. There are different configurations. The first is the regular harness hookup with the leash connected to the top of the harness at the shoulders. The next choice is the no pull solution the connects at the front of the harness. The feature I am excited to use is the car restraint. There are several ways to set it up. With the system comes a short leash to use with the restraint or with the harness for training or short control. Also included is a leash that also has different setups. It can be used as a leash to attach to the top and from of the harness. From the horse world ,my daughter calls this a Martingale, for those from that world. It also converts to a long leash. This system is particularly accommodating my baby Makoda. He has been harness trained, but he is young and when in a new environment forgets sometimes. I recently purchased the The PetSafe 3 in 1 Harness with two point control leash. This is a great leash/harness combo . It works great for dogs like mine who are constantly pulling when on a walk. It definitely makes our walks so much easier. He’s no longer pulling or jerking me but walking comfortably beside me. The Harness fits great and works well with the leash. I wanted a front clip harness for my adolescent SDIT who needs a bit of extra "steering" right now. I thought this harness would be perfect, but after using it once, I realize that the description didn't give neck measurements. Buying based on girth size alone, I ended up with a harness that hangs on my adolescent German Shepherd (whose girths usually fill out long before their necks). With such a loose neck on front clip harness, the whole thing spins. There's no way to size it down. So for anyone with a young deep-chested breed, watch out for that. Otherwise, my dog clearly liked it. The Y (between the front legs) strap design is ergonomically superior to traditional harnesses, especially with growing dogs. It's lightweight and comfortable. Like all my other Active Dog harnesses, the quality is second to none. It should be a great harness for my dog during the heat of summer after he's filled out. I love how reflective it is. (In the photo, the restaurant patio was quite dark. The harness was impressive the way it lit up when the flash hit it.). It's a nice enough harness that I'll just put this away until late summer. If the neck were more adjustable (or neck size listed in the description), I'd give this a 5 paw rating.Lori

We received the no pull service dog harness, padded cordrua clip on bridge handle and ID that we just ordered. Much sooner than we expected. We new we wanted a no pull harness for our (working) service dog because they have work so well our other (pet) dogs. The minute we took this harness out of the box it exceeding our expectations just in quality construction. We ordered a M/L using the "how to fit your dog" chart. The sizing chart was an excellent resource. We adjusted the straps to fit. And are very pleased with a fit that will support the growth our dog will experience. I saw this harness at my local REI and without knowing anything about the brand or how it would impact my life, I knew it was “cute”. I bought it for my mischievous lab puppy who weighed around 50 lbs at the time, solely for that reason. The cute factor. I then came here and ordered the Ruffwear Knot-a-leash rope dog leash to match. We used the harness and leash combo for about a week, when my fearless puppy decided to show me how well it works. I was driving on the freeway, and while waiting in traffic to exit on the off ramp, I opened my back windows for her to get some fresh air. She was clipped to a cheap “doggie seatbelt clip” so she was secure, or so I thought. I hadn’t noticed that she had un-clipped herself from the seatbelt until the moment I saw her jump right out the car window, and disappear from my view. She wasn’t trained at the time and would make a run for it anytime possible. I panicked picturing my dog running into freeway traffic and being hit, but to my disbelief I found her hanging off the car window, being securely help in place by this harness and the rope leash that was still inside the car. The impact of her weight combined with the momentum of the jump, did nothing but dent the locking system of the carabiner shut, and held her weight without letting her escape or even touch the ground for that matter, and not a single rip happened to either the harness or the leash otherwise. This “expensive, but cute” dog accessory prevented my dog from a terrifying death that would have surely happened had she not been wearing both of these incredible, life-saving items. I love this harness. I haven't used it for the reason I bought it yet, (to be used on my dog while paddle boarding), but I have discovered it's amazing ability to thwart my dog's whale like antics to throw herself backward, going limp, and melt right out of the harness like a cooked noodle when she doesn't want to go or leave somewhere. My dog is a 55lb Golden Retriever / Border Collie, she's a big heavy noodle. I used to own the Rabitgo dog harness which was nice for her to wear while we biked, however within 3mo she learned how to pinch her shoulders together and melt out of the harness. She would also (mostly at the dog park) go stiff leg when we would leave and then rear up and throw herself backward ( like a whale jumping out of the ocean )so she was sprawled on the ground. Your only option was to literally drag her from the park. She is 4yrs old now and is an amazing whale flopper.. she can slip out of anything… until now. I can literally just hold her in the air by my side while she tries to wiggle and squirm out of the harness to no avail with this RuffWear harness. For that reason alone this harness is worth every penny to me, whether or not it works in the water. As far as fitting goes, I bought the large. Her neck is 19inches. Behind the front legs 31inches. In front of the back legs 25 inches. From base of neck to the start of the tail is 27 inches in length. It seems to fit her well. The components are well built the D ring is sturdy the buckles are heavy duty and it's well stitched. I think the only thing that could make this harness better would be having another D ring in the front. I know they have other harnesses with this feature, but multiple attachments is just handy when it comes to dogs. Overall, I would recommend this harness and I won't be going back to my previous harness.McKenna B.

Bought this harness when I (and family) adopted our new retriever mix and were required to get a martingale harness as part of the adoption agreement. We've had him for just over two weeks now and I’m disappointed to discover that the straps of the harness we bought then have frayed dramatically at several points in such a short time; including one point at which a key strap is holding on by just a few threads! It seemed to fit relatively well during the time we have been using it. I’ve seen discussion that this kind of thing starts with a nick in the side of the strap, that must somehow have been caused by the dog chewing and/or scratching. As part of our work to train our dog, we’ve been very aware of his overall behavior, especially when going for walks. He’s not a puppy and never actively scratched or bit at the harness to our knowledge but, of course, it’s not impossible that this might have happened once or twice. I do question, however, the value of a dog harness that is unable to stand up to that kind of treatment.RalphtheDog

My Luna is a 2yr old black lab-pitbull mix. She's husky, friendly, and a puller when she's on a lead. Having a harness that helps with the pulling is a blessing. She loves going on walks but will drag you down the sidewalk. Since using the easy walk harness regularly, she has much better behaved. The easy walk harness goes around her chest and back and has a leash attachment on the front. This design takes the pressure off of her neck and shoulders, making it more comfortable for her to walk without pulling. This no pull harness is great for any dog that you have pulling problems with. It allows you to walk your dog without worrying about pulling on a collar or harness with a top buckle. The harness is very easy to adjust and put on your dog. It has two snap buckles for easy release. The leash attachment is on the chest area where you walk your dog from. My dog is 65 pounds and sometimes will pull when she sees other animals or people. This really does control the pulling and makes it easy for me to lead her. This is a great harness if you are looking for a solution for your dog that pulls. It is also great for those dogs that don't. It is good for both you and your pet.peewee09
