Big Barker Orthopedic Waterproof Dog Crate Pad For Sale (2024 Update)

This is by far the BEST dog bed ever, especially for my two Great Danes. It fits perfectly in the crate I have, and both dogs actually choose to sleep in the crate when it’s in there because they love it so much. It supports over 300lbs of their body weight without crushing at all. I’ve bought other expensive dog beds, but nothing even comes close to this one. I also love the waterproof liner that they sell for this bed so that it stays fresh and clean underneath. Next I’ll be looking at getting their SUV travel bed!jennifer.j

I know it gives you the measurements so the too small thing is my fault. However, I could've made something better than this. The memory foam is very small and doesn't provide much padding at all. It was around $20 for the x small and I could make something better with that amount of money.kimmi

I bought this pad more than a year ago for my other lhasa apso now at the rainbow bridge. My current lhasa spends hours sleeping on it, often turning it over and sleeping on the nubby side. My dog weighs 23 lbs. and the 21" x 31" size is right for him.Judy K.

One of my great danes is 7 1/2. He threw out his poor old back a day before I ordered this bed it was absolutely awful to see him hurt so bad. It was his old bed. I ordered this after his vet appointment and I was relieved to see big barker shipped it the same day, the Friday before memorial day. Memorial weekend passed and we got it on Tuesday. I also want to mention that I appreciate a product made in the US, I buy what I can American made. He laid on it for a few days and then quit and then I realized it was because it didn't smell like his stinky old blankets that he enjoys so much, so after I put his favorite smelly blanket on the bed he took to it immediately. We got the XL with 1 side that has a pillow. He hasn't seemed to care about the pillow much so he avoids it. Only one dane can fit on the bed but he is a big beefy euro dane. I absolutely plan on ordering again for our 2nd great dane but getting the flat XL version, maybe swapping them out for the boys. Reggie my injured dane was hand raised by me with love, he was a rescue that I fostered at 2 weeks and we fell in love with him so we were fortunate to be able to adopt him. I used to kangaroo him because he was so small and ill he couldnt retain his own body temp. So safe to say I love my dogs like they're my own children. Very glad I decided to give it a shot. It was expensive but so is an emergency vet appointment with a hurt back. Well worth the money if it makes his final years earthside comfortable.Jessi

It's been 3 years since I first experienced a Big Barker that was generously donated to a special needs dog at the rescue where I work in Missouri. 18 mo. later we bought one for our 80# Akita/Shepherd Knarly after I saw how that donated bed stood up to the wear and tear of daily shelter use. That was 18 mo ago. We lost him in February to what looked like cancer, but it was a fast end to a big life full of adventure. He loved this thing. I love this thing. It kept me from waking up every 40 minutes when he got uncomfortable crammed onto our queen sized memory foam mattress (we're not small people either) and hopped stiffly down to the carpet, then got back up with us a little while later. I miss the big, comfortable sigh he'd give us every night once his chin hit the pillow. And he slept HARD, with his bad leg hanging off the side. I miss our dog. The bed's still going strong under our 60# pit mix, though. He likes to hang his rear end off, elbows on the bed, and stretch his back legs out with his toes all spread out, then belly crawl the rest of the way onto it, draped over the middle of it. Pitties are weird. At least mine's weird and comfy! I think, nostalgia aside, what's impressed me the most is that there's NO WEAR to this bed, the foam *or* the cover. Other than the seasonal shedding fur right now, it looks like it did the day I took it out of the box. I can't find human products that stand up to the beating our dogs give things, so I feel like I've gotten my money's worth out of this bed already. Knowing it's designed for 10 years of use just means I've invested in all of my dogs' health for a good while longer. I'm here today getting a Lg Sleek for our Rottie mix's crate. I’ve been buying beds for my big old man for a long time. He’s about 100lbs, and he’s 14 years old. Now he’s hurt and doesn’t walk well, so he spends the majority of his time in bed, and it’s even more important to have a good bed. To get a halfway decent bed, it’s usually about $150+, and I’m still disappointed. The memory foam is thin or goes flat. Some beds actually have thick foam, but they’re not memory foam, and they’re too dense and firm. The last bed I bought said that it was 5” thick with dual foam. It seemed nice enough when I sat on it, but exactly a year later, when I laid on it for an hour, my joints were all killing me. I felt almost like I had been lying on the floor. Every review said that this was hands down the best bed. I was really looking for something more in my budget, but I couldn’t find anything even half as good as this one, and I had just paid $180 for the other one, and had to replace it after a year! If I had bought this one a year ago, my pup would be happier, and I wouldn’t be buying another, so it’s a sound investment. I didn’t really have the money for it right now, and didn’t want my dog to have to wait for a new bed, but then I read that they offer Affirm, which acts like a payment plan! So I could have the bed now! I was sold. OMG, I’m so glad I bought it. This bed says it’s 7” thick. The old bed said 5”, but the Big Barker is at least twice as thick as the old one! I don’t know if the Big Barker measurements are modest, or if the other bed’s were inflated, or if that’s how flat it went over the year or what, but the Big Barker immediately exceeded my expectations. It’s super comfy – the right amount of support and squish. My dog is happy. It’s the best quality bed I’ve ever bought. If you’re thinking about it, just do it. This thing is going to last. Two things I would change, though. One, I wish the covers were available in green. My dog has become incontinent, so I wish that the outside cover was waterproof. I know they sell a waterproof membrane for the inside, which is good. I wish there was an option for a super tough, durable, waterproof cover. One of the beds I had before had that, and rather than having to constantly remove the cover, wash, and replace it, I could leave the whole cover on, and soap/hose it down really quick. It was also chew resistant (not a problem in my house, but sure kills two birds with one stone). Anyway, it’s fine, I wrapped the bed including the cover in a 6-sided waterproof encasement, and I have multiple waterproof blankets, so I layer one of those on the bed, and then put down a couple of washable waterproof pads too, so it’s protected. As such, his photos don’t show off the bed as well as they could.blackviolet

Now we order about 6 or 8 on line and for some unk reason these appear to last longer somewhat less expensive. The ONLY negative with any of these squeeky toys is the squeeky part NEVER last longer than 2 days with any type of playing.ILA

Perfect size for our 95 pound Golden Retriever. The outer fabric is denim and very durable and washable. Inner waterproof liner protects memory foam. Our dog is very rough on her beds…she likes to pick up and shake and toss her beds around. This bed is heavy and not easily tossed. I think it will last her a long time. Very pleased with the purchase. It arrives in a small package because the memory foam expands upon opening.redhead

As soon as I put it on the floor my dog ran straight for it! He loves just how soft it is. Because he gets hot fast, with how thin it is it just let's the cool floor underneath keep him satisfied.Zeekboy

I use the bed for my cat and she seemed to like it, it's light and stays out of the way. Also jilly (my cat) use it as a scratch mat. But the only thing is it's kind of small and most large dogs wouldn't fit. over all I love it.Nicki

The right thickness and the foam is firm enough so my dog, who recently had surgery for a fractured front leg, doesn't sink down to the hard floor. I took off 1 star because the cover isn't removable to wash.christine

This fit our dog's medium kennel perfectly! It is a little thin but I wanted something easy to wash. Our dog doesn't mind the thinness as she loves laying on carpet over her cushioned dog bed. I'm very pleased with this purchase.DebbieB1965

These beds are super soft, hold up well to washing so far, and nice and light weight without losing their cushion.My only disappointment was I had hopped the sides would be a little firmer when both bolsters are up to make the bed deeper, but unless they're supported by crate walls, they tend to sag out. I specifically purchased them on the hopes that I could use them for newborn chihuahua litters, but the edges are week enough the babies can wiggle out, but then can't get back in. They certainly didn't advertise that they were more rigid, I was just hoping lol! And I found a workaround that is perfect, so I still use them for what intended.Would totally recommend them as they have not frayed, pilled, or otherwise been anything except perfect after multiple washing, including bleachLeesgirlrn

Purchased this item because it has straps on the bottom of the bed to hold it in place to the crate liner to keep it from slipping around. However as nice as this feature is the bed is not the same size a standard crates and does not fit. Also the bed is very thin and the bolsters do not support themselves. So I bought this bed for a large cat bed so two of them can share and snuggle since they always squeeze together on a tiny bed anyway. It's comfy, not super thick, but soft. It has a nice backing that doesn't seem like it would tear or rip easy. There is a spandex type strap on the back to hold it in a kennel tray so it doesn't shift around. For the price I paid (on sale) it would definitely make a cool dog kennel bed…. Or a cozy bed for two fat cats as well.E rish

These are well built and made from heavy canvas but are not at all chew proof. My ridgeback only needed 6 hours to have the inside destroyed. I’m giving it 4 stars because it would be nice for dogs that are normal. It has a foam pad and a fabric heat shield type thing inside so it would actually block some cold air. The bottom has a soft plastic that doesn’t really grip to prevent sliding around a crate.Ian

This will NOT fit in a standard large dog crate- the dimensions listed on the description are wrong. Item received had a "large" sticker with the measurements 17×30, while the website states it is 36×23. Put it in our large crate and it was much smaller than the crate floor. Measured it ourselves and it was indeed 17×30, not 36×23 as stated on the website.KindraO

I got the large ( they make an XL , too) to fit inside my Ruffland kennel ( was a bass pro ) I was surprised it was 109$ but it was last one so I got it It fits inside my gen 1 Ruffland kennel large like a glove! So excited I’m back to find the XL size to use on my XL crates! These are the best crate pads for these high end crates I’ve seen- befor I used bean dog blankets as a bed !Alison
