I didn't realize it at first but one day I just saw it. My 12 year old Westie has the energy mobility and life of a puppy all over again! Thank you Zuke's! I have four girls. A 10 yr Boston Terrier with severe arthritis in her hip and carries her leg on most days, a 1 year old blue healer, a 5 year old Maltese and Roxie the Westie that I bought the Zuke's for. Since my dog’s new diagnosis of diabetes, I had to find her some new treats. She loves her treats but she really isn’t supposed to be snacking between meals. I wanted something simple and healthy. These dog beef jerky sticks will fit the bill. I would like to make some homemade ones one day and see how that goes. For now these will work. My husband got them from Amazon, so I hope I can find them on Chewy. I honestly can’t remember the price. But that wasn’t my first concern.dina.h
The last few bags I've purchased (4x28oz) have not been very good quality. Either the recipe has changed or these are really old. They seem stale and are about 75% the size of what they used to be. I have older dog (15yrs) and her teeth aren't the best and I actually feel bad giving them to her because they're so hard and dry. If she didn't stare me down and wait for these as her after dinner treat, I wouldn't give them to her at all. Unfortunately, they've been hard to find lately so I feel I have no choice. Hopefully it's just a supply chain issue and will be corrected shortly. I really hope they aren't cheapening the product to save a buck, sucks when company's do that. If another order ends up being as poor quality as the last 4 bags have been, I will be looking for a new after dinner treat for my pup. I was so happy when I seen these. I don’t know about you but the whole pig ear pig hurts golly bully sticks kind of freak me out and they smell horrible and make my dogs breath stink. Our pugs have been taking this joint support for some years now with noticeable results. One dog has had a patellar luxation (displaced kneecap) since she was young. Daily light exercise and these hip and joint treats have kept her pain-free and active into her senior years (she's 12). Our other dog began showing signs of stiffness in her legs around age 9, so we put her on these and within a week all stiffness was gone. They each take half of a treat per day cut into their dinner. My dog gets these every morning and they are going up in price and getting harder and harder to find (the green bottle ) as a normal morning routine I opened the bottle to give her the treats and the inside of the container was brownish yellow along with the treats being discolored. I’ve been giving these to my dog for at least 5 years and loves them! He gets one every day after his mid-morning trip outside. If I forget, he comes and bugs me until I realize! I have two 18 month old dogs they are Australian Shepherd and heeler mix and I have had them since they were 4 weeks old. My little girl recently started showing signs of hip issues and I was concerned enough to research options that are non surgical to see if it would help. My dogs are getting old and I've been giving them lots of different supplements alongside with their food, up to a point when they started being hesitant in eating their normal food. I was worried as my dogs could be very picky (except for my beagle) in what they eat. I'm glad that they all like this supplement! My dogs are tiny and one has very little teeth (rescue who lost most of them by age 4). They seem to like the taste of the treats, but they are not soft. I half one of them widthwise between the 2. But, I have to cut that in half lengthwise because, otherwise, they can't chew them. The bag has only been open 3 days (and I am careful to fully seal the bag… even push out air before closing) and yet they are drying up. I have given them half a treat each for the last 3 days. I did a lot of research on something natural I could give my dog for his tummy troubles. He was having some digestive issues that I could not manage to resolve even with strict, bland diet. First, to clarify I purchased the pumpkin/ ginger Tummy chews ( not joint support) for my older dog with reflux. I wanted to to taper her down from pepcid and wanted a product that contained some ginger that was not too overpowering so she might accept ( she can be picky). She also has problems chewing. She's 25#, I cut one chew into quarters and give her one with each meal. I have elimated one pepcid dose and so far so good! She's still on a bedtime pepcid along with slippery elm ( her reflux worse at nite,. commonly the case) in time I may try to elim..the pm pepcid, but for now I'm happy she seems to be doing well with minimal reflux..The chews are not real soft but when they are cut they are not difficult for her to chew, they sort of crumble easily and I either toss in her food or offer as a treat. I've bought these a few times for my little doggie! He is a 7-year old Chi mix that weighs about 24 pounds. We give him one a day as a treat. I purchased because he has torn his doggie ACL in the past. We did not get the surgery for this, as a small dog it healed on its own, but as the vet said, he will have some arthritis-like mobility issues from that leg moving forward. I can definitely tell these are beneficial for our boy! When he takes these regularly, we can tell an improvement in his mobility. It had proven some, very moderate effect on my doggy's joint issues. I cannot recommend it for that reason, but it doesn't make it a bad product. In fact, he found it tasty enough not to spit, which is impossible with Strand syrup he was prescribed, and it didn't affect his stool–again unlike Strand. What really helped him was a gelatinous-rich diet, if you wonder, but the smell is horrendous and it definitely made him fart like crazy. So, considering this, I think, it doesn't hurt to try these soft chews and see if it does your pet any good before looking for something else. Zesty Paws Mobility bites seem to be very well made. Very little crumble when breaking it apart for my dog. Our little chihuahua really seems to enjoy them and believes they are good boy treats. I wasn't sure about a supplement like this and how well it would work. But, our little guy has been taking it for a little over a week and it already seems to have had some effect on his mood and activity level. Use these for my 14 year old schnauzer mix who has luxating patellas in both knees and has had his cruciate repaired after he ruptured it a couple years ago; so he gets the extra cushioning and support he may need for these joints. I just switched to these from the regular duck flavor and I have to mix them into his food, for whatever reason he won't take any of these as a treat, but that's no biggie. After doing some research, this product does come highly recommended however I can’t give my own personal approval. I have two American Staffordshire terriers and neither of them would eat these without being wrapped in cheese; which I do not want to do. Immediately opening the package, their noses were intrigued but when I tried to give them the chew it was rejected. So now having some saliva on the chew it stained the blanket my boys were laying on. These supplements have an intense smell of chicken and a vitamin type scent. The heart shape is cute and the consistency is soft. The container is nice and sturdy with a twist off cap for better storage. Unfortunately, this was not a winner in my house. I did end up giving some to my neighbor to see if their dog would enjoy them and hopefully benefit from them, sadly their dog rejected them as well. I wanted the Drs. Foster and Smith Level 2 chews but they have been out of them for a couple of months now. These chews might be fine if you have a small dog but they are pretty small for my dogs. My 5 year old Goldendoodle was diagnosed with Arthritis in both front legs. Vet recommended doing a series of shot, which sounded painful. Did some research and found these pills. They actually helped him. He previously was limping and sore at times when he played too much or went to the groomers (standing for long periods). I can't really review Hip & Joint as well as I thought I was going to be able to. It doesn't really compare well to other supplements like this that I've tried, and I wouldn't consider purchasing it either. I wasn't aware of Hip & Joint before trying them, and I'm not sure I would recommend them to cat owners, but I would probably recommend them to dog owners. I have four cats and only one out of the four of them would even eat them. The other three cats just walked away, and then I had to pick up the other three before my fourth cat ate all of them. The one and only cat that actually did eat them started spraying in my house, which he has never done before taking Hip & Joint. I immediately stopped giving them to him, and he immediately quit spraying. I gave the Hip & Joint to a friend who has 2 adult dogs, and she is excited about trying them in place of her regular supplements. I wish I could have given a better review, but this is my opinion. We adopted a 13 year old dog at the start of the year. His joints were clearly very stiff when we got him and he had trouble with a lot of normal movement and dog behaviour. I bought these and after giving them to him for only a week we saw clear improvement. Now he stretches every day with front and back legs out, scratches himself behind the ears, and is able to reack his back legs to clean them. He will even run a little sometimes. He manages to go down the stairs where before he would stumble and fall. He seems overall happier and more spry. He likes the chews a lot, so it's no problem getting him to eat them even though he is a very picky dog. They are also very easy to break in two for very small dogs. My dogs both have hip issues. I started them on level 3 and saw results in their mobility within a week. I also discovered another benefit that I believe is completely accidental. It kills bad breath! After two days on this I noticed my border collies skunk breath was gone! I gave some to my mother to try on her Yorkie who has terrible breath that no doctor could explain. It was gone after one dose. So it's an added benefit that has been a secret solution to funky breath. Kudos!
This is a wonderful product. I started using it on my 15 year old Siberian Husky that was experiencing joint issues & beginning to have difficulty getting up & down. After only a week on this product I saw marked improvement in her mobility. After a month she was acting like her old self, up & ready for her daily walks. Best of all she loves them.
